Just as silly and charming as ever. The big adventure in this volume is a day watching hot air balloons.

I never, ever, want a Yotsuba book to end. If I could I would jump right into her world.

Everyone should read Yotsuba. Even (or especially) people who think they don't like manga, or can't understand why a multi-volume story about a preschooler is worth reading. It is the most adorable, charming, funny, utterly captivating ray of sunshine ever put into print.

In this volume, the most dramatic thing that happens is that Yotsuba gets her first teddy bear. Somehow, even nine volumes in, it's all very important, and hilarious, and touching, and just beautiful. I love it so very much.

One of the more nearly perfect series I've ever read. As alway, no plot, just a little kid in Japan and the people around her.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Yotsuba&!! This title consistently shows the joy and adventure of everyday life thru the eyes of a young girl with green hair. Getting a teddy bear, discovering coffee, and riding in a hot air balloon are equally fantastic when you're Yotsuba! The supporting cast of her father, his friends, and neighbors show off the wonderful writing by Mr. Azuma. And his artwork is more complex than most manga with backgrounds and scenery. The realistic plots benefit from this.
Yotsuba&! can be very nostalgic and funny, but one must love slapstick/physical comedy.

This series continues to be absolutely precious and hilarious beyond belief. Yotsuba's quest to deliver coffee next doors had me close to tears, I was laughing so hard. The chapters about the hot air balloons as well as Yotsuba's bear were my favorite of the book. Once again, Yotsuba&! proves how it can take the average and turn it into the extraordinary through the eyes of a strange child who enjoys everything. Once again, I can't wait to read more of this series. Oh Yen Press, Y U NO have volume ten planned for release until October? SOB.

A new volume of Yotsuba&! is always a joy, and this volume is no exception. I loved Yotsuba's approach to choosing a teddy bear, and her wonder at the sight of the hot air balloons made me smile.

This was probably one of my favorite volumes of this series so far!

It’s been so long since I’ve gotten to read a volume of this series. I adore this series so much and it’s been so long since I’ve had one and let me tell you it was the best thing to have another one!

This one I think just hit so close to something I love. This volume had to do with going to a hot air balloon festival and let me tell you that just made me so happy. A couple years ago I went to my dream of the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM. I’ve been wanting to go since 7th grade so getting to go was so special and them at this festival just really made me so happy.

Such a new favorite volume of a series!

It's Yotsuba, what else do I need to say? I feel like my love for this series is well documented by now. I love the growing bond between Daddy and Yotsuba and the neighbors. It's fun to see Daddy grow as a father as well- in the beginning of the series he was overly chill when Yotsuba would disappear and now he worries about her more.
Cute and fun!

I always enjoy the stories in the Yotsuba books. The characters continue to amuse, as do the situations. Lots goes on, but it's very everyday, like going to a restaurant, buying a teddy bear, taking a day trip, visiting the neighbors, discovering coffee... Some people may feel nothing happens, though I hope they'd agree that nothing happening is done really well.

love this series DOWN. this volume seems slightly different from the other volumes, but not because it detracts the humor and charm of the story, but because it adds an element of thoughtfulness and ease in some of the scenes, especially in the hot air balloon chapters.

8/10 stars

This one feels a bit more disjointed than usual, and the grill was boring even despite Yanda, but there were two absolute highlights in here: Yotsuba in a teddy bear shop, overwhelmed with choice, and a truly poetic hot air balloon scene, with some amazing, artfully drawn panels.

Yotsuba learned how to make a schedule and stick to it !
she went shopping with her father, she got a teedy bear named Duralumin , and her father got a Coffee machine .
yotsuba and her father Jumbo and Yanda had a Barbecue in restaurant for half price !
the neighbours visit yotsuba's house and they convince her father to go with them to the balloons convention , and they all went there and had fun ..

The author must have a 4 year old. I love love love this manga and it's just about looking at the world through a child's eyes. In this volume Yotsuba attempts to create a schedule, gets a Teddy bear, and goes on a trip to see hot air balloons. I had a smile on my face reading the whole volume. I was excited to learn that there will be a 10th volume. For a while there was rumor that only 9 were written.

Yotsuba&! continues with volume 9! I was so happy when I spied this at the bookstore... Yotsuba's adventures never cease to amaze me. Realistically portrayed from the eyes of an innocent child, there's nowhere the story can't travel. Very cute book, I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a light, funny read.

Yotsuba, vol 9 is the quintessential volume that is probably the closest to distilling the 'essence' of this entire series. More specifically, the second half of this book, which covers the hot air balloon arc, with it's unabashed fun and wide vistas. Asagi fans would also rejoice, though Fuuka fans would probably have to wait for another volume.
