With my gift coursing through my veins, the tables have turned on the Draven Campus.

I’m no longer the Giftless reject, no longer the girl who’s fair game to the other students for daring to run away from my Bonds.

But there are bigger problems heading my way.

With destiny pushing me closer and closer to each of my Bonds, I’m fighting tooth and nail against nature to keep my distance.

But they’re fighting harder to keep me in their grasp.

When it becomes clear that the Resistance is closer than we ever thought, I don’t know who I can trust.

Can I finally take control of my gift, or will it take control of me?

*Savage Bonds is a full length reverse harem PNR novel with material that may be difficult for some readers. This book will end on a cliffhanger. It's recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations.

So so good 🤌
Savage Bonds has it all- drama, character development, a sweet delicious slow burn, spice, and a plot that keeps you entertained throughout.

This book starts off right where Broken Bonds ended and it did gain points from me for that. I loved how easy and amazing the chemistry is between each character. Even tho they seem to be at odds, they work so well together in the story.

North continues to be my favourite. I want more of him in the next book, which by the cover of it seems like I will get it 👀 Gryphon won me over so easily in the second half, I swooned. I liked Gabe becoming tougher and the fact that the second half didn't have as much of Atlas as in the first half of the book. I really wanted to see more of Nox and him on knees.... Groveling of course 👀
Oli is such an easy character to like. She's not boring, not overbearing, and her sense of humour is really well written. Her friendship with Sage is so endearing.

I rate this four stars instead of five because-
1. The pacing slowed down immensely in the middle. Tho it never lost my interest. But it could've used more action.
2. The lack of North and especially Nox. I feel like Gryphon is the only one getting the right amount of time- not too much, not too little. Gabe and Atlas have a lot of it. I wish the screen time would be more aptly divided.

The cliffhanger once again was so good. I immediately have to start with the next one😩😩

I LOVE this series so much!!! Oli has to be hands down one of my favourite characters EVER. I've enjoyed reading all the possible theories on Facebook.
BRUTUS AND AUGUST..... That's all... I think they need their own moment of appreciation.
After that ending, I have to rethink everything about the guys Oli is with..... Definitely going to continue rereading the first two books.
The next book can not come sooner.

4.5 Nightmare Puppy Stars ⭐️
Spice Rating: 🌶️/5

Book 1 was 466 fucks of fantastic….this book only 370…. That is quite a downgrade people!

This is a sequel - which means DON'T read this review if you haven't read the first book because OBVIOUSLY there might be spoilers from book one that are slipped in - I take no blame for this... If you are still reading you do this at your own risk.

Book 1 ended on what we believed to be the worst cliffhanger (you have been warned the one at the end of this is EVEN WORSE) and everything has gone to shit...The WHOLE WORLD basically knows that Oli actually has powers (GOSH, who didn't see that coming!) - she still doesn't want to bond and is a bratty teenager about it and is tortured through exercise. The boys are still fucking insanely hot, moody and pissed off as Oli won't tell them anything but she does get closer to them all - except Nox because he is a pissy enigma of a man....and then shit goes down after people get drunk, have sex, or are just doing normal things like working in a coffee shop.

My worst book icks or turn-offs ALL seem to happen in this book and QUITE frequently...LACK OF COMMUNICATION, chosen one, "not like the other girls", and explosive "firework seeing" first-time sex shit...Yeah, they are all pretty prevalent...there is also a lot of sweating (in the gross exercise kind of way, not the sexy kind of way)

We do get one scene that's steamy and spicy but completely ruined by my utter second-hand embarrassment at the dirty talk... it's like... I need bleach for my eyes after reading this...
“Such a greedy fucking pussy, taking me all the way down like a good girl. Tell me you’ll be good for me from now on, give me this pretty Bonded pussy whenever I want it
Oli is also REALLY immature. She acts selfish and bitchy and thinks she knows best in situations, but taking the world on her shoulders really just makes everything worse. Her saviour complex is probably going to get her killed and quite frankly almost all the relationship drama and angst could be removed by ONE Adult conversation where things are aired out and strategised.

But as much as I didn't like quite a lot in the book, I still inhaled this book and have become addicted and craved to know more about these men and this story. It's like I'm the one in the Bond Haze and I just need all the books surrounding me for comfort and security. I think this is what makes J. Bree's writing so good because it is so easy to devour and enjoy with all the action, angst and drama that you just keep reading.

The BEST THING about this book is the fucking puppies. Those puppies have weaselled their way into my heart, and there is nothing that those puppies will ever be able to do that will make me hate them. I want all their slobber all over me and they can crawl to the back of my neck and nestle in my hair as much as they want. Those puppies deserve to be protected till the end of time. They are the best boys and I loves them!

Basically the TLDR -
THIS BOOK HAD ALL THE THINGS I DON'T like and that make me annoyed BUT I still LOVED it and adored it and am going to the next book - The Draven Bond Men are my new obsession and the amount of Fan Art I have looked at for them scary.....

❗️❗️Cliffhanger
❗️❗️Trigger warning: kidnapping, mentions of murder and past torture, controlling behavior from future love interests (but not as bad as in the first book), death of loved ones (in the past)

He shakes his head slowly and as I walk away from them, calling Brutus back over to my side, I hear Kieran mutter to Gryphon, “You’re in so far over your head, she’s going to eat you all alive and I’m going to enjoy the show.”

After the shitty and dire situation that Oli finds herself in at the end of the first book, she has no choice but to use her powers, and now everyone knows what she is capable of. Even if a part of her secret is out, Oli still can’t bond, else she will put all of her Bonds in mortal danger because the Resistance is still searching for her, and they will stop at nothing to get her back, and use her Bonds as leverage to force her to cooperate.

This book focuses more on how Oli’s relationships with her Bonds change now that they know more about her and her past, and the angst and slow-burn are delicious.

He murmurs quietly to me, “You make me proud to be your Bond. Even when you hate us, your backbone, endurance, and integrity is unmatched.”

Oli is still a sassy badass in this second book, and while she changed, she remained as awesome and likable as in the first book. She kept her spunk and wits, but she was also able to be open-minded when faced with new facts that shed light on some of her Bonds’ controlling behaviors. She is slowly realizing that they are not all that bad and that they have reasons for their controlling behavior other than just for the sake of being jerks. I loved that she was mature enough to put herself in their shoes, and while she didn’t automatically forget them because she understood them a little more, she was level-headed enough to realize that there might have been some miscommunication and that she could compromise for the sake of their Bond and sanity.

Also, her loyalty to her friends and her Bonds (even those who have been nothing but jerks to her) is awe-inspiring. Again, she does not hesitate to put herself at risk and even “sacrifice” herself to help them, and she is slowly proving to the guys that she is not a spoiled brat. They have no choice but to see that if she can be that brave and selfless, surely she had a reason to flee 5 years ago, besides being immature and stupid, and not wanting her Bonds.

That being said, her savior complex will definitely get her into trouble sooner rather than later, and her Bonds deserve to have the option to help her if they want to, instead of being forced to deal with the aftermath of her decisions. She is a great character, but she is only 19 and has her super powerful Bonds ready to help her if she would only give them a chance. I think the time for secrets needs to come to an end soon because the whole “miscommunication drama” will get old if it continues for too long, and while Oli is pretty mature overall, refusing to allow her Bonds to know what is happening and help seems immature at times.

Don’t get emotional over this shit, Oli. Don’t look at your Bonds all coming to blows over you because two of them hate you, two of them like you, and the fifth one is a constant mind-fuck of changing opinions.

North is still acting like a control freak, but he also gives off this confident alpha energy that I can’t help but find hot. He still has work to do to earn Oli’s forgiveness, but when he decided to be kind to her or care for her (those were fleeting moments, but they were there), I was smiling like a mad woman and my toes curled. He just has this older, reassuring, and protective aura beneath all the controlling assholeness that I can’t resist.

Nox is still a complex fucker, but it’s clear that his mean words and assholey attitude hide some past trauma and emotional wounds. He is trying to protect himself, and I can’t wait for Oli to be able to destroy his defenses and win him over. He will be a grade 1 protective Bond once he decides to give into his instincts, I just know it. I know it will take time, and probably will not happen for a few books, but in the meantime, I am enjoying the angst he adds to the mix.

Gryphon is the definition of brooding and mixed signals in this book, but I loved the tension it created between Oli and him. I am really intrigued by him, and even though he is a central character in this book, I feel that we don’t know much about him… And while I like him and his intensity, he is not my favorite of Oli’s Bonds, he kind of fades into the background when compared to North’s intensity or Gabe and Atlas’ sweetness.

Gabe won a lot of points in this book. From the very beginning, he showed Oli that he would support her from now on, and he stood by her, even when it meant arguing with North’s orders or being in the crossfire of one of her arguments with the other guys. He stopped just fleeing the scene at the first sign of confrontation and is now firmly in Oli’s camp, and it was great to see her being able to form a real friendship with him, and also having another person she could rely on. I knew when I read the first book that he had the potential to be a sweetheart, and he showed it in this book.

Atlas is still being so supportive and awesome, his kindness, understanding, and support is what endeared me to him in the first book, and he continues the good work in this sequel. He is always there to help and defend Oli, even (and maybe especially) against her other Bonds, but he also does not act jealous and possessive of her when she decides to slowly open up to some of her Bonds and spend more time with them.

I need to give a special mention to Brutus and August, the shadow puppies. I am in love with them, and it’s cute to see Oli being so excited about having them with her. I need to see more of them because they are the best.

Oli and Sage’s friendship is still precious, and I love that they brought Sawyer and Felix into their group too. I love that Oli has interactions with other humans besides her Bonds and that she is able to cultivate healthy friendships with boys and girls. It seems important that she continues to have a life outside of her Bonds, and I am glad that the author took the time to develop those relationships and those secondary characters.

Again, this book is not perfect, and some things in it annoyed me, but I inhaled it, just like I did the first book, and I am already halfway through the third book so there is no denying the addictive power of this series. I just can’t seem to stop, and I don’t want to either because it’s just so entertaining and easy to read, and I love it!

Holy shit.
I can't stop
Fuck work… jk I need money but ugh I need more time in the day.

This series, so far, is a MASTERPIECE. I couldn't put the book down. It is still super slow burn, but I’m LOVING the tension! Cliffhangers are the absolute worst thing to happen to me because now I need to drop everything and dive into the next book. I instantly picked up the third!!

#1 Broken Bonds: ★★★★★ | 5 stars
#2 Savage Bonds: ★★★★ | 4.5 stars

Quotes:
“If you burn, I burn with you. You’re not alone, Oli, not for one second. I told you before, I’m not afraid.”

“I can’t help that I’m precious, dangerous, volatile cargo.”

"You think you're the only one fighting your bond? This is all mine. Know that before you walk out of here because Bonded or Unbonded, you're mine."

4.5 Stars!

Yeah, this series is officially going to be a problem for me bc I have it bad!!! Another book I finished in a day and basically abandoned my adult responsibilities. I may have even bought the audiobook so I could go back and forth and work and not stop consuming this book at the same time. Like I said, I am in TROUBLE bc I AM OBSESSED!! This series is sooo addictive! I definitely am warming up to more of the guys and one in particular had me melting! Also, I am loving more of the growing friendships outside of the bonded group and the picture is starting to get a little clearer as to the reasons why Oli ran and what happened to her and what she can do. But the DEVOTION AND POSESSION/OBSESSION of her bonds is starting to show up and I can't get enough. This book literally made me freaking squeal so many times!
SPOILERS BELOW!!!

Oli-She's that bitch. I have no notes for her bc I absolutely ADORE her! She has been through some serious trauma I can tell, even though we still don't know what exactly happened, but she has been protecting all of her Bonded and I have a feeling she went through something horrific. I love her changing dynamic with her bonds and how she is softening to all of them but most of all my girl is such a DOG MOM!!!! As if I needed another excuse to love her, she is fierce with her love of her Shadow puppies and it's honestly so relatable.

Gryphon-This man just gets better and better I am smitten with him!! I am so happy he was the FIRST!! (Although I hate how it went down bc the bond kind of took over) but the after was sooo sweet! The way Gryphon has always known that there is more to the story and pushes bc he wants Oli so much and their Bonded group makes me love him unconditionally! And besides that man is just freaking SEXY!

North-Yeah, he is my new favorite alongside Gryphon. There is just something about him, he is holding himself back, but he definitely has it bad too and has been paying super close attention to Oli. I love his bossy super intense vibe, he is just my kind of mmc and I am really the MOST excited about him getting closer to Oli. That whole coffee thing and the way he is always feeding her and holding her her gaze is so hot.

Gabe and Atlas- They bicker a lot, but I also feel like they are going to end up loving each other like brothers. I love how now that Gabe is realizes that Oli was running, he is all in and ready to be devoted to her. He is precious but also fierce at the same time and I really love him. Atlas is still so supportive as ever and totally down bad for Oli and super protective. I still feel like there is definitely something up with him though and he is hiding something.

Nox-He is still a totally an asshat and I would love to kick him in the junk for how he speaks to Oli BUT he most definitely isn't being an asshole for no reason. Sooo I am waiting to see what the story is with him. My GR girlies have already put me notice so I will leave a vacancy in my heart for him and hope he is more than he seems. Also that moment they had at the funeral gives me hope!

THAT ENDING!!! J Brees knows how to set up a cliffhanger and leave me with no sleep! Ok my lovelies, I am off to continue feeding this obsession with book 3!

Quotes I loved!

"I never doubted you for a minute, Sweetness. Fuck the rest of them, I already told you that it's us against the world."

"Don't take another fucking step near my Bond or I'll rip your fucking throat out with my bare teeth." -This was when I fell in love with Gabe!!!

"It's your fault! My bond is a whiney, horny little bitch and you're waving a goddamn red flag at it right now. Put a shirt on!"

"If you burn, I burn with you. You're not alone Oli. not for one second. I told you before, I am not afraid."

"No growling at my Bonds. That's naughty. none of that, and if you do, I'm not giving you anymore scratches."

"You make me proud to be your Bond. Even when you hate us, your backbone, endurance and integrity is unmatched."

"I was all in before you ran away. I was ready to give you the world and destroy anyone who attempted to hurt you or, fuck breathe wrong in your direction. You broke that. Give me a reason to believe that you did it because you had no other choice....or that you were unaware that you had them in us." And this is when I fell in love with North!!🫠

Can you believe I actually went ahead and read the second book in this series. And finished it in a day.

Only here for the reverse harem. SJM needs to take notes because she needs to stop pairing everyone together and just focus on a giant harem.....right?

1.5 STARS

TBH I don't even know why I'm rating it 1.5 instead of a one since I don't even remember what happened anyways......

I think, I just hate really dislike our fmm? She is whiny, and indecisive, and switches her moods on a dime. AT LEAST she is not completely helpless, looks for financial independence (mostly so she can buy clothes but still), and has good taste in friends (#Sage and Saywer are precious).

The guys (And yes, I do mean others in addition to my cutie Gryphen) are growing on me.
Gryphon is the voice of reason (never doubted it'd be him).
Atlas is giving vibes.
Gabe is getting more screen time so we can get to know him.
The brothers are still meah but I am open for them to show me their warm and fuzzy/hot and melting side, whichever really.

Look at me! I remember the names! might have mixed up one with the other though...
We still know bearly anything which is frustrating.
It is still addictive.
The word 'Bond' is getting old really fast after having it be used *109* times.
OH AND I HATE HOW 'THE BOND IS MAKING ME...' AND HOW IT'S LIKE SEPARATE AND THE 'ONE' IN CONTROL.
This is not a masterpiece but it was better than the 1st and I want the 3rd.

Yup... the bond shit got old pretty fast in this one.

UPDATE: I changed it to 2 stars. The more I think about it the more I hate it.

Idk, it's just not for me ok?
I HATE the bond plot omg. I hate it so so so much.
It's not that the book is bad... it was entertaining enough I guess.
But the bonded shit omg.
I know I'm not the type for bonded shit, but I liked the first book. Now it was just too much about the bond. Too much. Not one page went by without her saying something like my bond cries for him or whatever.
I was rolling my eyes every. Fucking. Time.

The plot is repetitive. Nothing happens during the first 40% of the book.
Brutus and the other nightmares... Idk why but it was so fucking cringey🤣 I hated every second of it.
The guys seemed to have potential in book one, but here they lost a bit of steam. They were fine I guess but I wasn't swooning for any of them. I didn't really care whether they completed their bond or not 🥴🤣
And for a girl that's "bonded" to 5 guys, there's like, no smut. Literally, almost none, which I just don't find realistic ok? Maybe the author was trying to make us work for it, but it pisses me off when a story holds off sex in a very unrealistic way. This "bond" is supposed to make them feral right? We're told is almost impossible to resist each other. How the hell are they keeping it clean for so long? It's just... Nah.

I have a lot more to say but it's late and I can't think so I'll update this later. Now that I've written this though, I'm realizing the book is probably more of a 2-star for me🤣🤣

Hands down my favorite J Bree series to date. This is so fresh, so delicious. This series is seriously the revelation of 2021- I CAN NOT GET ENOUGH OF IT! I AM RAVENOUS FOR MORE! Reverse harem, paranormal, academy vibes with all sorts of yumminess- enemies to lovers, age gap, loads of secret society things, bad-a heroine, super alpha and possessive bonds, magic, EEK- it just can’t be defined. But it’s an addiction- all the grit and sizzle of a J Bree story, but with a whole new vibe.

Book 1 pretty much blew my mind, and book 2 picks right up where the first left- with our heroine Ollie tangled in a mess that forced her to reveal her hand- or, well, part of it. Her bonds, too, start to expose buried parts of themselves, though we still have SO many unanswered questions and secrets between them. Whereas book one explored all the reasons Ollie’s embittered bonds had to resent her and their love-hate attempts and both protecting her but also keeping themselves detached from a bond that hurt and betrayed them, book 2 turns that concept on its head. When everything they thought they knew about her proves to be untrue, what then does that mean for their distant at best, hostile at worst, very fragile relationships with her. This book is all about chemistry- as each bond reluctantly is forced to confront what they believed about Ollie and see her in a new light. In many ways, it’s like they are meeting her anwe- building new relationships- and evolving the chemistry between them. Each, of course- at their own pace. Some are quicker to trust and forgive, to assume responsibility for mistakes, and others are still keeping her at arms’ length. But each relationship is CAPTIVATING, and the men start to really stand out with their own personalities and emotional complexity. Ollie continues to wow as the stubborn but noble heroine- and we see her even more at battle with herself. Nature vs. nurture is at play- can she protect her bonds, even when they dont deserve it, when her very nature pushes her to do the thing that she believes will destroy them all: accept them. It’s rich, it's dynamic, it is addictively captivating. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.

Of course, we have endless secrets. No one is fully exposed, just yet- and more drama unfolds that thickens this already dense plot. We also have new world-building, magical elements that we’ve yet to fully understand- so expect to leave this story with more questions than answers, but to also be deliriously obsessed and wildly entertained. And dear god, FINALLY we get some heat, as well as some much needed emotional vulnerability. J Bree’s commitment to flawed, complicated characters continues to shine- and I could not love this series more. CAN I HAVE THE NEXT BOOK NOW!??!

You ever heard of that phrase “you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink". Well the heroine is that mule and the heroes the water. I'm actually dithering between giving the book a one or two stars as she sulked, she whined, she gave me a headache till the very end.

The secret that she hoarded over a space of two books turned out to be pretty underwhelming considering the 'monsters' surrounding her, equalled her in cruelty of power. It was like someone consistently yelling they are a dragon and in the end they were just smoke.

With a total lack of a male voice and a constant bashing of the male voice, Olie is a character of flawed decisions. Her biggest hindrance to becoming stronger and therefore able to protect the entire bond was the word that is repeated close to 100 times in the series, 'monster'

The sex scenes, sparse as they were, are the most detailed parts in the entire book aside from the dramatic long drawn pouting of the heroine. If they were the paintings than the actual fight scenes were the mere sketches. The book would have been better if they were more fleshed out.

And than there are the random horny women to serve as the minor antagonists to the heroine that are scattered throughout the book who eventually became just loose threads to temporarily spike jealousy.

Things that prolonged the agony.

I liked the Smokey dogs, I liked the men in the group except for the ones that fawned and tiptoed on eggshells around her as she took umbrage at every single word that she perceived as an insult or a threat to her delicate sensibilities.
I did not like the heroine much. She was more the pup, chasing her tail in a game of one, a game that no one else was allowed to participate in, while every other character in the bonded group watched in bewilderment trying to catch wind of an insipid secret that she clutched to her breasts like dark pearls.

And in the end, in desperation 'her' men told her they killed 18 men, a 100, a 100 000 men. They were evil, sinners, monsters. Nope she was not having that, she killed a million men, she was the ultimate supreme monster. Not one single person in the entire world could out monster her, not even the murderous power hungry villainous cult hunting them.

Book 3 may finally answer if their souls would become as black as hers and be her equal in monstrous deeds and thus gain her final acceptance into her inner being.

FINALLY finished this thing.

I'd have liked to give it 4 stars, but the first 30% is so insanely slow that I thought I might never actually finish the book. Literally nothing happens. Eat, rinse, repeat for what felt like hundreds of pages. Bloody hell.

It picked up a little after that, and the pace strongly improved after about 60%, but alas too late to rescue this book from a 3-star rating. Also because something about the writing style is just putting me off slightly - I'm not sure what, exactly. I think it's the overuse of commas, possibly. Eh.

I'll read the third book but overall I feel like premise was better than execution with this series, which is a shame because the ideas are EXCELLENT.

*3.5* I was not as engaged with this second book as I was with the first. It could’ve been that a large chunk of this book was just repeating the same things over and over again. She’s hiding her gifts, she doesn’t want to strengthen the bond, everyone still keeping secrets from each other, etc..

It was 500 pages and I think it could have been edited down and been just as good.

"It's your fault! My bond is a whiney, horny little bitch, and you're waving a goddamn red flag at it right now. Put a shirt on!"

There was one intimate scene between her and one of her men. It was written well, but I was surprised at how

Maybe I just needed more groveling. I really love the idea of the bond having its own identity. A bit like a shifter?

Ends on another cliffhanger. Off to download bk 3!

So this is gonna be one of those series where absolutely nothing happens until the last 10% of the book, huh?

Two books in and there’s still no explanation at all about the bonds or how they really work?! Yet the word bond is mentioned over 600 times - I wish I was kidding. World building? Nope, not here. I think it’s safe to say I won’t be continuing past this point.

4.25 ⭐️

I think I flew through this one quicker than I did book one. I found it to be very addictive and I kept wanting to know what was gonna happen next… but there were a few issues that I had with book one and only a small amount of them were fixed in book two.

I still found Oli to be very young feeling and I’m realizing that I don’t particularly love her. A lot of the things she says feel very juvenile to me and I still don’t like all of the petty drama (teenagers getting drunk, girl fights… things like that). I’m getting more highschool vibes than I am college… and I just wish it had more of an adult feel to it.

Another issue that I had with book one was the lack of details. I did appreciate that in this book we got a lot more information about both her and her bonds powers… but I still feel like there is an underlying issue of a general lack of detail and information everywhere. Something I’ve noticed is the way that we get time jumps - there’s no telling of how much time passes until they randomly mention that it’s been months since something specific has happened… it’s things like that that I’m having an issue with - it’s honestly hard to explain… but if you’ve read it, you might understand what I mean… it’s almost too basic and simple. Does that make sense?

I will say though that I am very happy with the guy she chose to bond with first because he’s been my favorite since the beginning… and while we’re on the topic of the boys, I’ve been getting a bad vibe from Atlas since the moment he was introduced in book one… and that moment at the end when he ran off to call his parents and then that last line of the book didn’t help ease any of my suspicions towards him… so I will be moving on to book three asap to see what’s going on there.

I'm still not sold on this series, especially since we still don't have so many answers. I did appreciate how the romance finally started developing between the heroine and some of the guys. But I'm still so confused about things and the beginning of this book was pretty boring. There isn't as much fantasy as I like in my fantasy romances yet, but hopefully that changes in the next book!

2 ⭐️ Honestly, boring until the end.

Oli is so annoying and whining, and the Bonds are. . .there. I guess she gets closer to them. But I still feel like we only scratched the surface of these characters, so it’s annoying after 2 books not to have more.

Story is stagnant. Characters are two-dimensional. Training sessions are boring. Bond romance is slow AF. (Seriously hurry the fuck up.)

And for all you horny bitches, there are only 2 smutty scenes, and they were fine but quick. So it's not worth reading this book just for the ‘spice’

I wanted to DNF at 60% but kept going hoping it would get more interesting. It does at the end, but it’s not captivating enough for me to continue the series.

Ohhhhhh my gosh, this was so good!!

I’m obsessed with how J Bree took such a popular trope as bonded mates and gave it her own twist and mythology. We still don’t know a lot about this universe and how things work but I feel like every little tidbit we get is a game changer and enough to keep me hooked and begging for more.

Oli was even better in this book. We finally get to see more of what she can do and what her Gifts are about. I loved the twist Bree gave to the typical virgin trope. Maybe she wasn’t sexually experienced, but she was horny 24/7 for her Bonds, and ain’t that relatable no matter what? The “in my slut era” meme was created for Oli, and I love her for it.

The whole obsession with scent was so hot to me, I can’t explain why, but Oli needing to wear their clothes to smell like them was top tier 😩

I love the bickering between Atlas and Gabe, and I can’t wait for them to be best buds. That plot twist at the end with Atlas had me muffling a scream. Just pure evil genius!

Gryphon and his dirty mouth was so unexpected but so, so good. I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops from now on, and how it affects the others.

When I read North had difficulties to control his rabid creatures, everything kinda clicked in place for me. No wonder he seeks total control in his life, especially with his Bond. The moment I knew about his creatures being rabid, I was instantly more into him lol

And I’ll never get over that moment with his secretary acting like his friking mom 😂

Nox is still a big mystery and mostly an insufferable asshole. BUT after he panicked when she sat on his lap, I was intrigued. And his little shadow creature following Oli around and basically living in her hair was the cutest shit ever. Brutus is one of my favorite characters. I don’t care if he’s a creature made out of shadows, he’s my puppy and I love him 🥺

And even with all these amazing main characters, Bree managed to give us an incredible secondary plot line with Sage and Felix. That moment when she called Oli in a panic because she had set a whole building on fire was so good 😂

Okay, time to pick up the next book.

Plot
After that ending, things are changing and our Oli is forced to reveal some things.
In this second installment, we're not only finding things about Oli, but also about her bonds. When they are confronted with the fact that what they knew about Oli isn't true, tables are overthrown. They start seeing her in a new light.

Worldbuilding
There's not much to tell about the worldbuilding in this book, but there are new magical elements being introduced and there's more talk about the Resistance.

Characters
The relationship between Oli and her bonds is progressing and I won't mention anything else because I don't want to spoil you. Everything that happened was so unexpected and exciting, I want you to experience the same thing, so I won't talk about it — READ. THIS. BOOK.
P.s. Still no favorites.

Romance
In this book, we're discovering a new side of their bond and because of it, Oli is forced to spend time with each of her bonds and things are getting ... intense. I swear this is the best take on bonded mates I read so far and I can't get enough of it.
The slowburn is still on!
"I take a breath and remind my bond that men ain't shit."

Kieran, Gryphon's soldier, was more present in this book and it was so fun to have him around!

Conclusion
That ending —ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I didn't know I signed up for torture, but this is how it starts to feel like.
This book is as action-packed as the first one, we still have lots of twists, more secrets, amazing plot, unique worldbuilding and sexual tension that we could cut with a knife if we tried to.

Bond this bond that

I DONT GIVE A FUCK, 610 times???? We fucking get it ?!?!

Everyone in this book (except my baby ofc 🤭 and occasionally Gabe ) including that bitch ass dog, buxtus or wtv the fuck his name is needs to die.

1) gryphon- dickrider

“Nox wouldn’t have… taken it any further than he did. I’m not making excuses, you two have to figure that shit out for yourselves, but I don’t want you panicking about being around him.”

He assaulted her and he says this🧍🏾‍♀️

Need I say more?
Die

2) Nox: hang yourself

3) north: drown

4) gabe: you’re cool or wtv

5) oli: maybe it’s time to use your power against yourself 😍

6) atlas: and I’ll be here, with open arms, open legs and an open mouth 🤭 side note: he needs to tone that stupid overprotectiveness down or I’ll drop him effective immediately. Allow oli to speak for herself you bitch

7) how fucking convenient that Giovanni turned out to be the bad person 🧏🏾‍♀️ this book is against all girls who are not oli and sage. And that’s fucking despicable

8) “when I bond bad things will happen , everything will end, I’m Superman and me having sex will break the world apart 🥺🤓” proceeds to have sex because she’s jealous and guess what? Nothing fucking happens . Also was her being a soul snatcher thingy supposed to be a mind blowing revelation? Because I swear ts was obvious since her parents death in book 1 ?💀

9) once again I genuinely hate the whole idea of bonds. “But that’s what the book is about🤓” stfu

10) oli, after killing people/ wanting to kill people just for fun, the moment she’s called a monster: 😔☹️. Maybe if you look in the mirror you’d understand why they call you a monster

11) “sage is so badass” “ I’m proud of sage for speaking up” yippity, yappity. IDGAF

12) “I need to run away🥺 “ makes no attempt and instead thanks assholes for being less of an asshole?

13) the overprotectiveness in this book? Ew.

14) I guess Nox being a rapist is okay! He has trauma!!! It’s completely okay!!!!! 🎀🤭🎀🤭
Fucking book. Idk who this author is and frankly idgaf, but this whole victimizing thing she has going on needs to end because tell me why she’s still insistent on making Oli take part of the blame then tries to setup a redemption arc for a rapist??? Then have other people ( gryphon) literally stand up for him. Why does no one but atlas give a shit that he did that? And why is it that the moment gryphon had sex with oli all off a sudden he’s also protecting her against Nox after literally supporting him?!? It took him bonding and fucking her to defend her??

Oh Bryce quinlan would gladly mop the floor with all these alpha holes. ( yes, including atlas)

15) this book proves that men are only good when they shut up . Because the moment gryphon started talking he became a walking infection.

And for the love of God , can someone tell me what the resistance is resisting??
Like atp I might start rooting for them?

I think that while some of the relationships and romance got better, the overall plot got less exciting and a little repetitive - so it's still three stars from me.

I AM EATING THIS SHIT UP. Gryphon can go ahead and become a real human being and marry me. I will also take north if gryphon is not up for grabs because I KNOW HES STILL KINDA A RUDE BITCH BUT I HAVE HOPE FOR GHIM. Very much, “I can change him” mindset but oh well
