Rate this book
Fiery death and destruction await the citizens of Astoria. Magic has disappeared and the dragons are dying. The dragon riders of Astoria are the last defense against the evil elven horde bent on destroying and enslaving them all. The elves have stolen dragon eggs of their own, but hope comes from an unexpected source. A young girl bonds with a dragon egg, the first woman ever chosen. A magician once thought to be lost for over 200 years is now found. Will 160 flaming dragons, a female dragon rider with magical abilities that were once thought to be lost forever, and a lone magician be enough to save them all from annihilation?

The Silver Dragon

The silver dragon did something unexpected - it bonded with a female and the Dragon Riders of Astoria must vote whether or not to accept a female into their ranks.

Reis was filled with joy when she felt the mind of the young dragon touch her mind with the bond.

This is a pretty decent book, and there are elves and magic. The elves are evil and who knows what their motivations are, but if we get another book hopefully all the blanks will be filled.

Turned sadistic

I quit reading about the end of chapter 8 when the beautiful girls neck was sliced open as part of some kind if paganism ritual.

A shame. This was developing into a good YA novel even though a bit on the mushy romantic side. And then it went cruel and sadistic.

can’t wait for the next one

Really enjoyed this one. It was a different take on dragon stories and I’m really looking forward to the next book.
