“Why would my boss want someone as young and broken as me for his boy? But the way he looks at me…”
Levi has seen more life than anyone his age should have. He’s responsible for more than anyone knows. The weight on his shoulders is crippling, but he’d do anything for his family.
When Christian hired Levi, all he saw was a young man with a wound on his face so recent that it hadn’t healed yet and desperation in his eyes. He didn’t know his story, but he didn’t need to. One of the reasons he’d opened The Tap Tavern was to give people who needed a safe place to land a job—a home away from home.
Christian swore to himself he’d never date an employee, but then he’s never had one quite like Levi. Levi never planned to trust anyone to help him carry his load, least of all a marshmallow of a Daddy. When unfortunate events force these two men to share a house, will they be able to resist what’s been brewing between them right there under the surface?
Welcome to another heartwarming story from The Tap Tavern, where Christian and Levi finally get their HEA.This is not a standalone.
Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.
These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.
We’ve been building up to this book since this series started. This may be book 5, but it’s actually the 7th story in this world and one that deserved more than it was given.
It was nice to finally learn more about the burdens and troubles that Levi was carrying. I also enjoyed learning more about Christian and his past.
What I didn’t love was just how quickly their relationship went. There’s literally one paragraph about their first time together and that was perfunctory at best. Even the way they said I love you to each other was disappointing. There’s only 2 chapters after they decided to be together and that’s it.
I’m not sure if this was rushed or what, but I honestly wished I had skipped it. I wanted more for these two and they didn’t get the story they deserved.
Sadly, Levi and Christian's story is the last one in this sweet little, 5-book series.
All the boys at Tap Tavern now have the "Daddy" that they needed and wanted. There was a Daddy who was "Gentle"... A Daddy that was "Patient".... A Daddy that was "Understanding"... A Daddy That was "Tender" and bartender, Christian now has his Daddy that is a Daddy who is the "Boss"... and we all that have read the series know that this is Levi, the owner of Tap Tavern.
We get to meet Christian's father and two young sisters and can begin to understand why he works every hour that he can to provide for this family...why he constantly does without the necessitates of life, which is something that Levi had been "secretly" providing for him for a long time hoping that Christian wouldn't know it was him.
These are all short story about what you will do for the people that you love...even if you don't share DNA with them. It's about learning to accept the help that people that love you will give freely...but mostly it's about finding happiness with the person that will make your life complete...no matter what your sexuality is.
I’m left feeling empty after reading Boss Daddy. We have been waiting so long for Levi and Christian’s story. So long. They have been dancing around each other and I’ve been waiting with bated breath for them to finally give in. After all the build up this was just kind of….flat.
Levi has been this mysterious figure throughout the series. Always so serious, always keeping himself apart from the others. Christian has been watching and wanting him forever. The Daddy of the story didn’t have the nerve to go for what he wanted. Basically, it takes Levi going after Christian to finally break the ice. And that doesn’t happen until nearly 70% in! So we have this huge build up for a relationship that we only see for a short time in the book.
I guess I just wanted something more dynamic for them. Some grand declaration of feelings and pining. I don’t know. Just something…more.
Levi is a whiny brat with no backbone. Putting one’s self down constantly and consistently while going on and on about their tale of woe is probably the least attractive thing anyone can do, fiction or not.
What is it with mc’s who are supposed to be “perfect” but their only redeeming quality is that they give every single damn thing to everyone else and go without themselves.
I can’t have that I have to pay for everything I don’t deserve gifts I’m giving the gifts back I don’t deserve to have nice things I don’t deserve a life outside of living every single day for every single thing my family wants and needs I don’t deserve happiness because oh no my poor family may have to do something for themselves or god forbid another member of my family may have to help support them
Levi was so self loathing it was unbearably sickening. And that was only four chapters in.
Hooray for the Tap Tavern! I think there’s a little bit of magic in that bar and I know there’s a whole lotta love. It sure has mine, and speaking of, all the cheers for Christian and Levi. From how laughably oblivious they can be, to the many ways Christian takes care of Levi and for the many ways Levi takes care of those he loves, their story is everything I wanted for this pair since we first met. And their chemistry, mmmhmm.
“First, let me see what I committed to, pretty boy.” “Whatever you want, Boss Daddy.”
Nngh, swoon, heat, and sweet. The trifecta of Sammi Cee. What more do you need? Maybe extra time with this amazing found family as I never want to leave. I adore it all and raise a toast to Fragile Hearts.
I absolutely couldn't wait for this story and I couldn't be happier. I love Levi and Christian! I am just so glad these two final.get their happy ending. This is such a sweet story and I couldn't stop reading once I started. I just love this series so much!
I've been waiting for Christian and Levi's story for a while. I was starting to doubt if Christian would ever make a move, and I was glad to see that things moved faster than even he expected. Levi has held himself separate from the rest of the boys from the tavern, but it's clear that Toby and the rest of them aren't going to let him keep them out forever. I enjoyed how they slowly involved him in earlier stories, and how they managed to surprise him in this one with Christian's help. I loved seeing Levi's realization that they are his friends and they have no plans on disappearing.
While I was surprised by things we learn about Christian, I was glad that those revelations helped Levi see Christian in a new light and find more in common with him. I was also glad that Christian's friends were pushing him to make a move; Levi was clearly at a point where he was more open than before. Levi's family life is busy, and he's clearly gotten used to providing for them without consideration to himself, which I can completely understand. I was glad when he accepted help from Christian and others. I loved it when Levi invited the boys to his house and they strategized together. It made me smile as their plan took longer than expected and when it finally started going as they hoped, Christian was in his element after his brief (but funny) meltdown. I loved seeing how it all worked out, but now I really need Cameron to find someone of his own.
I’ve been shipping Christian and Levi for what feels like forever so I was super excited for their book (even if it does mean the end of this particular love on tap series). It was just as perfect as I expected it to be if not more so. I love the way the boys and Christian helped Levi see the family he had at the Tap and the fact that he could open up and rely on others. I’ll admit I was sad that the series was coming to and end; however, I’m really excited that we’re coming back to the Tap in its next chapter with Cameron more at the helm. I’ve often thought he was very similar to Christian in the way he treated people and I love that he’s able to take on a bit more of that role. I can’t wait for what’s next but I think like the Takoda series, this will have a special place in my heart as being the introduction to all these lovely characters. I love that we’ll perhaps get a bit more crossover next time but this book was a perfect example of why I loved this series from the start - it’s so uplifting to see that no matter how hard life gets, there are people who are good and kind and when you find your people they’ll stay in your corner even when you don’t believe they will. I think honestly I’m going to do a reread of the whole series because k just don’t think I’m ready to part with these guys just yet!
Another endearingly sweet daddy romance in the Love on Tap series by Sammi Cee. I've been eagerly awaiting Levi's story since we first met the quiet bartender in book one. Always keeping himself apart, we never knew why but now we get to know him, his family and Christian, owner of The Tap. I really enjoy the back and forth nature of their relationship and Christian's daddy caring ways, even when they're just boss and employee. He can't help but want/need to take care of the younger man and share some of the weight on his shoulders. Though seeing their slow burn romance develop is wonderful, my favourite thing, apart from finally meeting Levi's adorable family, is seeing him accept that the rest of the boys at the bar count him as a friend, whether he wants them to or not. They're all eager to know and support him but have allowed him to take it at his own pace, all knowing that these things can't be rushed having all come from different backgrounds and situations. I really enjoy Sammi's romances as they give you all the feels along with found family, a big variety of personalities and a loving, supportive relationship. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
More satisfaction at the Tap Tavern ! Christian, 43, a blue-eyed silver fox
and owner of the Tap Tavern, takes care of his employees, cares about them, and with Levi, he makes sure he is doing well. He knows Levi is supporting his family, but does not know the whole story. Levi, 23, has a large, long scar on his face,
and his long, brown/gold hair can cover his face at times. Levi works as a bartender there, keeps his secrets locked down, as he supports his family. His black, wheel chaired Dad, Leroy, and his two sweet sisters, Ivy,7, and Jayda, 12, biracial, are who he loves and provides for.
Christian holds a surprise birthday party for Levi, and Levi realizes just how many friends he has. Levi and Christian have worked together for two years, and now, they are learning new things, with more deeper talks, more fun and laughter, too. We get more interactions with friends and family. Christian was always there for Levi, even behind the scenes, falling more in love and bonding with Levi, but Levi was oblivious.
Leroy had been in a work accident, so Leroy had stepped up. Levi was adopted by Leroy when he was young. Leroy loves his family and they are his whole focus. Levi's world keeps opening up, with true friends and a great job, which all has helped with his self esteem.
At Christian's house, Levi meets a fluffy
white bundle, a Pomeranian, and immediately loved her. He'd never had a pet.
This beautiful story keeps getting better with every chapter. Our wrap up begins with a four month out update, and some sexy times for our new couple, Levi and Christian.
Then, three years later, the epilogue is profound and meaningful. We had awesome characters and terrific writing.
Okay, so I had been reading along this far to get Levi's story, because I figured when it came together it would be the most interesting? But it was way less drama than I wanted. I keep expecting peaks and valleys with this series and they do not happen, so I'm not sure what keeps me coming back. I mean, its pretty vanilla romance, and it's easy reading, so it's not that I don't enjoy it. I like some angst though, and everything comes together so neatly for all of these characters, and I think I just have a hard time getting my ADHD brain to really latch on. They each have a mildly tragic backstory (except for Archie, that boy had it so rough) but it all pans out. Levi is no exception, but the build up to this book cast him as a mysterious person, with a dark past. He was broody and closed off, and I was thinking to myself, "ok here's the guy with the secrets and the interest; he's gonna make this series worth reading." But no, he just has a family to provide for and is somewhat jaded. He had none of the intrigue that made me want to read about him in the first place. He's overworked and that's about it. And Christian had been cast as such a 'protector' over the series, so I figured that would come into play at some point. There was no danger, no conflict. I just feel like I spent four books where they kept hinting that these two were going to be the heavy read, the couple with the wildest challenges to overcome, only to make it the most boring story yet. I'm disappointed that I read so many of these just to have the characters I was most interested in be so dull.
I have loved this series! Every book has been 5 stars for me. However, in this book, we have had so much leading up to the mystery that is Levi. He has been so unwilling to share with the other people, especially the other boys who have wanted to connect. He’s been so adamant about not wanting to admit chemistry with Christian. Christian has been all about not scaring Levi off and in the beginning of the book, Christian is still thinking of taking the next year to woo Levi. But, suddenly one night there is a minor emergency and Levi and Christian become super close right after that. There is basically no process to their changing relationship. He introduces his family immediately. Then he shares about his past. He is not afraid of a relationship with Christian. We even quickly got to the point where he invites all the boys to his house. He decides that really he’s been friends with them all along, because they always included him. Everything is just fine. Not so fast… I want a happy ending but this felt formulated and uninspired. So sad! I was looking forward to this for months! Tender Daddy is in my favorites, and don’t miss out on the novella-Doting Daddy.
Levi has a huge weight on his shoulders but he manages because he'd do anything for his family. When Christian hired Levi he saw a young man with a wound on his face and desperation in his eyes. Christian had made a rule that he'd never date an employee but then that was before Levi. When unfortunate events force these two men to share a house, will they be able to resist what’s been brewing between them right there under the surface?
I loved this story with the two men who wanted each other but danced around it at work until the birthday party with gifts and how that was the catalyst to change everything. I've wanted these guys to be together for a while and so it was a huge relief when they had some happiness together. Finding out more about Levi made him even more adorable and I loved that Christian was careful to make it clear that even with the facial scar Levi was beautiful. It was great to see that the story features disabled people and how positively they were dealt with. Very easy to read and feel their thoughts and emotions. This is an MM story with a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.
- an MM romance! workplace romance, daddy k!nk, age gap, mutual pining! - i am so glad there’s no abuse in this one i don’t think i could cope - the presents Christian got for Levi omg 🥹 - Levi finally figuring out that he was loved by everyone was so fucking nice man, it made me feel so warm inside - Levi being genuinely so clueless that Christian was in love with him was so funny - he got a wanted poster too!!! - hehehe Christian getting all growly and demanding they go and talk, love this for them - i love Levi’s family so so much, they deserve the world and more okay - no third act break up besties x - this one didn’t really have any conflict either, literally just these two figuring out they’re in love - i frickin adored the ending, they’re so happy and in love and all of the good things - never would of seen Levi as a teacher but it makes sense - 3 years later and Cameron’s been through some shit?! his book is NEXT - i honestly didn’t want this story to end, they were the protectors and ‘outsiders’ (you weren’t Levi you’re just a silly goose) that it was so wonderful to read their HEA!!
Finally we get Levi and Christian’s story! I’ve been waiting for this one because I love a good boss/employee romance, and with the Daddy/boy and hurt/comfort tropes in the mix, I was already swooning. Christian is the perfect blend of bossy and comforting. He lets Levi lead the pace yes, but always manages to get his way when it comes to protecting his boy. I’ll take some of that growly bossiness please and thank you. And just how adorable is Levi’s family?? I’ll give you the answer: almost too adorable!
There are a fair few side characters that appear in previous books, so although this can be read as a standalone, I don’t really recommend it. I think it might be a bit overwhelming with just how many characters are mentioned. What you’ll still get though is a lighthearted and sweet story. In fact, the entire series is this exactly!
This is Levi's book where he and Christian finally get their HEA. Levi is a bartender at The Tap, which is owned by Christian, but he doesn't feel like he fits in with the other boys, who all met their Daddies through the Wanted flyers posted on the bulletin board. He just wants to work so he can support his family. But after the boys throw him a birthday party he realizes that they have always felt he was part of their group and he finally decides to let them in. Christian has had feelings for Levi since he started working at The Tap and when Levi calls him for an emergency, Christian realizes why Levi has kept to himself. It turns out they have more in common than they both thought and start to explore their feelings more. I love this series and I highly recommend it and I can't wait for the next book.
Levi and Christian's book is the last in the Love on Tap: Fragile Hearts. Lucky for us, the author isn't through with this Takoda world and has at least two more books planned in it. The best that can be said for the main characters is clueless and pining. Thankfully their found family of Daddies and Boys are nosy and intrusive. With some not so gentle pushing and intervening, the two find themselves forced to communicate and a relationship begins. I loved Levi's snark and his dedication to his father and sisters. His absolute surprise that Cameron and the Boys were always there for him was sweet. And gently handled. It was a great series. And this was a great series capper. Fun, quick. And worth a reread or two.
Best couple, yet? Levi, is dragging a van size of life behind him. Christian hired Levi after seing the cut on his face as testiment that he was deeply hurt in the past and needed support. He saw Levi as a man that needed his help.Christian, has a policy never to date an employee. After he worked with Levi, a few years and watched him grow and come into his own, he is rethinking his policy. He sees the strength and integrity and honor in Levi. Levi's secrets come to light and they endear him to everyone. Does Christian finally make his move? Is Levi offered up looking for a Daddy? Is Levi ready for Christian? Are the Boys and Daddies ready for Christian and Levi? Great story, excellent flow. The best is how all the stories are linked while standalone. Extremely hot cover art! Well done!
I knew these two would be one of my favorite couples. Levi was so quiet and reserved compared to the others boys at The Tap. You could tell that Christian cared for him in the previous books but didn’t want to overstep.
This wasn’t instalove since they knew each other before they got together but I loved how they realized that they needed each other pretty early in the story.
Levi’s family was awesome! They were so supportive.
I loved this story! Now I need Ollie’s story along with Cameron’s. Wouldn’t it be great if they were coupled?! A girl can dream…
Argh! In my rating system, three stars are for books that are mediocre across the board or have both good and bad parts that cancel each other out. This book falls to tremendously into the latter category — so much, in fact, that I want to give it two stars.
The entire book up the the daddy/boy part was lovely — not earth-shattering literature, but a well-written and lovely story. The book *after* the daddy/boy stuff was faux-deep, superficial sugary schlock. And really unfortunate because Levi really deserved to stay the three-dimensional character he had been up to that point. I am so disappointed Cee turned him into a stick figure version of the kind of boy he could have been.
I love this story so much!!! When I started the series, I was super into Toby and Samuel together, but I fell in love with Christian and Levi. I was so excited to read it that I preordered and kept counting down the days until this book was released!
It was everything I had hoped for and it was perfect! The story didn’t move too slowly for me and it wasn’t easy for the two to get together. They learned about one another before getting together in a sweet way
What a beautiful way to bring another perfect series to a close. We’ve watched Christian and Levi skirt each other while each boy got his story. The unknown connections between them were amazing to discover. I think they moved up to being my favorite couple amongst several couples. And, as always, it was fun to visit with the other boys and daddies. Thank you, Sammi, for another wonderful story. What a gift!
Christian was hesitant to pursue his employee, but Levi was someone whom he always looked out for. When circumstances change and he needs to step up, what was years in the making between them finally comes to fruition.
A much anticipated story in this series and this story has all the feels. Two characters who have insecurities and hesitations work through their issues to get the HEA they deserve. A fantastic read overall.
Christian hired Levi when he was 19 to work in the kitchen. As the years went by, Christian moved Levi to be a bartender. Now 6 years later, Levi is still working at The Tap as a bartender. We now find out what Levi’s home life is like. When he called Christian to help him with turning off the water, Christian met his family. Loved the dynamics between the two and how Levi finally opened himself up to his friends. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
Very good book and I'm so happy that Christian and Levi finally got together IV been dying for them two but I am a little disappointed that it didn't really have much about them together. They actually got together then bam book is over. I would have loved more with them together but either way I'm still happy for them and can't wait for the next series and seeing who Cameron ends up with and seeing chips story as well. I would definitely recommend this book
After spending years waiting for Levi, Christian finally got his chance to get his boy. It started with a birthday party, than a flood in the kitchen for Levi to realize that what Christian felt for him was more than boss and employee, so not only did Christian get his boy Levi got what he wanted since he laid eyes on Christian his Daddy!!😍😍😍
Well written story and well developed characters! You get the most out of these books if you read them in order. Levi has worked at the Tap Tavern for quite some time and had a crush on the boss since the beginning. The Boys Club are always trying to include him but he doesn't think he fits in!
I’ve loved this series and getting everyone’s HEA. This is the couple I’ve been waiting for and it was so worth it! Christian has so much to offer and Levi just needed to realize he was worthy of it all. So satisfying to watch them figure their relationship out!
I absolutely loved this story. This has been such a wonderful series and while I am sad to see this chapter end I can’t wait to see what comes next in Takoda. Christian and Levi have been dancing around each other since the beginning of this series and I was so happy to see them finally get together. This was a wonderful story with all of the feelings.
