UNHERD is a coming-of-age story, created keeping in mind the exponential changes our world has gone through in the last few decades, where breaking out of consumerism and herd mindset have become the needs of the hour.
UNHERD is not only meant to inspire, but also to bring light to the many questions in the minds of countless people - What is our purpose in the world? What is the true meaning of being alive? What truly matters in life? How do I live a happy and fulfilled life? How do I overcome my darkness? How do I bring light to my life, to this world?
UNHERD aims to answer these questions in the form of a story that encapsulates romance, philosophy, mystery, adventure, and travel, carrying the readers through the alternating realities of New York’s streets and many parts of India.
"Something tells me that we were meant to meet today, and I had to point you in the direction of this mystic."
Let me begin by telling you that there are a lot of takeaways from the book. If you're a person who's wondered the reason behind your birth, reason behind your existence, or questions of that sort, then you've picked up the right book.
The protagonist of the story, James Walsh, was a very good lawyer in New York, running behind money and influence. Though he was striving hard, he made sure he gained good influence. His days were plain and bland. The story takes a twist with the entry of Jessica, an interesting character in the book, because she changes James' life. After her disappearance, James decides to find her. The story then changes its location from New York to India. James, on the quest of finding Jessica, discovers a lot about life. Will James find Jessica? What was the truth behind his roots? What was his reaction, and how did his life change after the story routed to India?
Adventure is needed in every person's life. Only with that can one discover a lot. The book is just brilliant, and I especially liked the twist of routing to India. The writing style is engaging, and the tale is gripping. It teaches us the importance of relationships and stresses upon the fact that money and power are not the sole reason for our lives. It will keep you hooked till the end for sure.
UNHERD is a captivating story of James, a man who had everything but felt empty inside. He embarked on a journey of self discovery, leaving behind his money-driven life in New York and exploring the diverse and rich culture of India. Along the way, he encountered love, mystery, philosophy, and spirituality, and learned the true meaning of being alive. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to break free from the herd mentality and consumerism, and find their own purpose and happiness in life. UNHERD is a book that will challenge your perspective, inspire your soul, and touch your heart.
This book is something extraordinary...a book of self -discovery and self - revelation . A thought provoking book. After reading i feel this book is meant to motivate to find out the real motive of life. James , a man who ran behind success finally met someone who takes him to next zone but that person is suddenly disappeared. And from here the actual journey starts. An extraordinary and exemplary read of mine. Writing style is wordy and verbose. Content wise it completely stand on my expectations but to be honest I don't like the cover much ....the content of this book is marvellous and deep but I dont know, being too perfectinst , I didn't like the cover much. I hope the new edition of this book make a change in its cover . Overall a much recommended book.

FAVORITE QUOTE - Life can seem like a burden sometimes, but we have to remind ourselves to not let our burdens become our baggage and stop us from living the way we truly want to.
..........................
Q&A with the author
Q: Are you a spiritual person?
A: I don’t really believe in labels of if I am this or that. Or if someone is this or that. Spirituality, to me, isn’t about sticking labels on ourselves or others. It’s more like taking a journey where we explore what it means to be alive and understand that everyone’s journey is different. I believe in embracing this idea of fluidity, where we’re not confined by strict categories but free to explore the depths of our minds and the effects of our actions (karma). Labels, I’ve found, can be like putting blinders on our minds, limiting our understanding of ourselves and others. So, I prefer to keep an open mind and see where life takes me, learning and growing along the way. It’s like breaking free from the chains of our thoughts and discovering the true essence of who we are.
Q: Which is your favorite chapter in the book, the one you connect the most with?
A: Among the chapters in “Unherd,” one stands out as particularly resonant for me – the final chapter. It holds a special place in my heart because it brings the narrative to a fulfilling conclusion, surprising readers and leaving them with a profound sense of closure and introspection. It encapsulates the essence of the book and serves as a culmination of the journey embarked upon by both the characters and the readers.
Q: What/who was the biggest motivation behind UnHerd?
A: The inspiration behind “UnHerd” was not driven by external motivations or influences, but rather by an internal creative force that flowed through me. I see myself as a conduit for storytelling, allowing ideas and narratives to manifest organically. Each book I write is a unique journey, guided by intuition and a deep-seated passion for weaving tales that resonate with readers on a profound level.
Q: Do you have any message for your readers?
A: My message to readers is woven into the fabric of “Unherd” itself. Through its exploration of themes such as love, strength, wisdom, and purpose, I aim to inspire readers to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and enlightenment. The book serves as a mirror, reflecting back the complexities of the human experience and inviting readers to delve deep into their own inner landscapes. Ultimately, I hope readers find solace, insight, and inspiration within its pages.

The search for love might appear to go on forever since it is so elusive. We know it exists because others have it, yet the road may be so difficult to navigate that it might be tempting to give up. What purpose does life serve? What's the point of your existence, really? Although this topic has been asked for ages, some contend that the answer to it is the key to real, lasting fulfilment, pleasure, and even self-actualization. But getting there can require a lifetime of labour! Every human being aspires to live a balanced life filled with meaning, pleasure and fulfilment.
Unherd by Kartikeya Ladha voices the tale of James, who is constantly chasing money and a comfortable existence. He eventually understands how this materialistic way of life affects his self-esteem. His waking experience then starts. The book represents the various transformations our world has gone through in recent years, which have made a break from materialism and groupthink necessary. A story about falling in love and losing it, about realising the good and bad in ourselves, about adventure and travel and about how life can surprise, uplift and inspire you if you let it. Finally, James understands how this materialistic way of life has affected his self-esteem. His waking journey then officially starts.
The author's deft narrative not only successfully captures the reader's attention but also provides a view into his own experiences, which are clear from the way the book is written. A good idea, with straightforward language and well-placed characters. If you've read any of Paulo Coelho's works, you may notice some parallels in the way this author uses a tale to convey a point. The details are generally not excessive, although I did become bored in a few spots.
A remarkable story with a great plot. This highly regarded work communicates a philosophical message through its trip from West to East, from New York to India, in search of roots and love.
Money can not buy any happiness is an adage that some people live by, while the others ignore it. This saying means that for any individual, true happiness is something that comes from within and not from the materialistic possessions that they boast of.
This is the reason why we observe how money and trinkets can provide temporary joy, but never really bring complete satisfaction, neither can it help us treasure, experience or savor any special moments which have the ability to fill our heart with pure joy.
Our main protagonist, James, from the book, ‘Unherd: A Tale of Love, Wisdom and Strength’ by author Kartikeya Ladha was someone who was of the same belief, thinking that money has all of the power, and hence embarks on a journey to do whatever it takes to get to his desired objective.
However, there are certain things which happen in his life, and two significant people, that completely make him ponder over his priorities and rethink about whether what he has set his mind upon is really worth it, or is there something undiscovered that he needs to explore.
Having planned everything to the minute of details, it was difficult for James when things were not happening the way he wanted, but it was during some of the toughest times when he came to realization.
More often than not, there are moments when we feel like there are certain circumstances which have not panned out the way which we want them, neither are any of the things going as per our plans, hence in such situations, the book teaches us how to not lose hope and instead of looking at the negatives, we should focus on finding our purpose.
The story of our main character from the story was not something which should be read as for entertainment purpose, but it was also a meaningful book which teaches us some valuable lessons which can be cherished by the readers for a very long time. Hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"UNHERD" is a book that explores the theme of survival in a world of excess and greed. The author has created a dystopian future world where the division between the rich and poor is a chasm that cannot be bridged. The author's writing style is captivating and draws readers into the story from the very beginning. Ladha has created a world that is both intriguing and terrifying in equal measure.
The protagonist, James Walash, is a character that is easy to relate to. Readers can't help but sympathize with him as he struggles to make a name for himself in the cutthroat world of law, where success is everything. Ladha has developed his characters extensively, ensuring that each one has a distinct personality and believable backstory. The characters in the book are complex, and their actions are driven by the environment in which they live.
One of the key themes of the book is the impact of technology on society. Ladha has done an excellent job of depicting a world where technology has advanced to the point of being able to control and manipulate human behavior. It is a thought-provoking and frightening concept, and one that is explored in-depth throughout the book.
The world-building is another standout feature of this book. The author has created a world that is vividly described and immersive. The descriptions of New York, in particular, are breathtaking and give readers a sense of being in the city itself. The author has also done an excellent job of incorporating social, political and economic issues into the story, creating a rich and multi-layered world.
Overall, "UNHERD" is a book that demands to be read. It is a thought-provoking, gripping and beautifully written novel that will keep readers hooked from start to finish. It is a powerful commentary on the future of our society and the role that technology will play in shaping it. It is highly recommended for readers who enjoy dystopian novels that are both well-written and deeply contemplative.

UNHERD breaking away from the crowd and standing alone even though if it means standing against the world is what's the message this book carries.
She walked into his heart UNHEARD as she was love and she lead him from world's darkness to the light within him.

The writings in this book depicts a picture of sophistication and mystery of its writers character. The writer knows how to grip it's readers through its subtle secret and in return every reader just couldn't put down the book ones started.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is up for a fantastic read.
First of all I want to mention that this book doesn’t have romance as it’s main theme. It is more about discovering yourself, your strengths and your true calling. But the protagonist’s journey begins through a love story after experiencing what unconditional love is. The book tells us that there is no sense of “I”.
Or as the author quoted “ I realised that there was no separation of life. All existed through one source of union. There was no sense of “I” and no sense of “them”. It was all just one, living through a funnel of infinite expansion.”
If you have read Paulo Coelho books, you will find some similarity in the method by which the author delivers the message using a story. Writing style is really good as the author has good command over English language. The descriptions are mostly not overboard, though at some places I do got bored.
Story revolves around the main protagonist James who while running behind the materialistic life, purposefully buries his heart’s true calling. Eventually he realises the shallowness of this materialistic life. And then his journey of awakening begins. He is forced to embark a journey due to certain life circumstances . Eventually he takes the call and the journey begins. Journey from West to East. From New York to India in search of his roots and love.
Overall it is a good read. The book gives you a meditative feel as you move ahead the pages. I personally liked the book but the ending didn’t convince me much. It left me with a sense of incompleteness in the end.

‘UNHERD’ the book a story that revolves around this think that we often refer to as ‘life’ , the amount of layers in the story us exceptional and requires a lot of thinking in itself. The efforts put into this book by the author is commendable and is surely to be acknowledged by all those who read it.
The main plot of the story revolves around James Walsh, who is an upcoming lawyer in the city of New York trying to make a name for him self. The captivating this about this book is that it really emphasises on the human tendencies of the characters and does in no way try to portray them to be exceptional or special.
As previously highlighted the book is multi-layered and deals with all kinds of daily life issues of the protagonist, such as finances, politics as well as societal issues. The amount of depth the storyline goes into is uncommon and is not encountered in many books.
Despite all these material problems and issues faced in the story, the stories primary aim and purpose of the story is to provoke thoughts in the minds of the readers and to clear them out at the same time. It portrays both the mental and physical struggles faced by the protagonist and yet it teaches and guides you to slow down and think and be calm, it shows the scary side of the world in the future which could possibly be our realities but yet it also inspires to have hope and aim for growth.
The book is really exceptionally well written, by the name or even the cover i could not have expected such a mesmerising story. The book is amazing and a worthwhile read and i would definitely recommend it.
James Walsh's journey is one of contrasts and complexities, born to a Catholic mother and an Indian immigrant father. Driven by ambition, he propels himself to become the youngest and wealthiest partner in a prestigious law firm. In a bar encounter, he crosses paths with Veronica, a woman who mirrors his values and aspirations. Their union is more a strategic alliance than a union of hearts, serving their shared ambitions. Yet, as time unfurls, James confronts the hollowness of a life devoid of genuine emotion and love, and this realization propels him to abandon his meticulously constructed existence.
Within this narrative, Jessica emerges as a pivotal figure. In her presence, James discovers a profound wellspring of hope and joy, experiences that had been elusive in his previous life. Their connection ignites a spark within him, breathing life into his spirit and rekindling a sense of vitality. However, her sudden disappearance introduces a palpable element of mystery and longing. The questions linger - how could someone who breathed so much life into his world vanish? How will he navigate this intricate puzzle to uncover her whereabouts?
The author deftly captures the rhythm of the story, orchestrating a fast-paced, enthralling narrative that holds readers in its grip. As the story progresses, emotions ebb and flow, creating an immersive experience that is both poignant and captivating. The emotional investment becomes tangible as the narrative accelerates, and while the enjoyment of reading is undeniably present, a sense of sadness creeps in as the reader is reluctant to part with the story.
Ultimately, this novel beckons with its powerful narrative

The feature of this book for me was the way the connections between both the male and the female principal characters were portrayed, the way things were simply displayed as value-based. The Plot is A Fascinating. The Creator has Described Scenes in a Well - Paced Way. The Storyline pushes Ahead with a Quick - Paced Style. The Composing Style of the Book Is Grasping. The Language of the Book is Clear. The Front of the Book is Spectacular. The Title of the Book is Well - Picked.
"Unheard: A Tale of Love, Wisdom and Strength" by Kartikeya Ladha is a powerful and thought-provoking memoir that tells the story of the author's journey in search of spiritual enlightenment. The main protagonist of the story is James, the story travels in and about his life and transformation. James was a person who is just materialistic and kind of the person who followed the trap of this society's standards. When his life was in that trap of materialistic robotic life he got awakening and to get something he travels from NY to India. What made him realize that awakening? Why India? What is going to happen next? To know all the answers read the book.
The book is a beautiful blend of travelogue, spiritual insights, and personal growth. The author's writing style is engaging and lyrical, and his descriptions of the Himalayan landscape are vivid and evocative.
But what really sets this book apart is its honesty and vulnerability. Ladha shares his struggles with anxiety, depression, and existential questions, and his journey to find inner peace and meaning in life. His openness and authenticity make this book relatable and inspiring to anyone who has ever struggled with similar issues.
Overall, "Unheard" is a moving and insightful book that offers a unique perspective on spirituality, personal growth, and the power of nature. It is a must-read for anyone interested in exploring the Himalayas, spirituality, or simply seeking inspiration and guidance on their own journey through life.
In Kartikeya Ladha's book Unherd, the protagonist James Walsh, who shares a similar background and currently resides in New York City, takes center stage. Despite his success, he is haunted by his impoverished childhood. When his beloved Jessica disappears suddenly, he embarks on an investigative journey.
James finds himself in a state of darkness, feeling that his entire forty years of life have been wasted. Ladha endeavors to convey that personal strength cannot solely rely on wealth; it requires inner harmony. Jessica's departure serves as a symbol of change and unforeseen circumstances, while also offering a glimmer of hope and light amidst adversity. The path to self-discovery is arduous, necessitating reaching out and letting go of various things. Will James ultimately find his life's purpose?
One of the aspects I particularly admired about this book is how the author breathes life into the characters. The main protagonist is complex and multidimensional, with both flaws and strengths that make them truly authentic. The supporting characters are also well-crafted, possessing distinct personalities and motivations that add depth and richness to the narrative.
Additionally, the book's plot is engaging and skillfully paced, filled with enough twists and turns to captivate readers until the very end.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Unherd to fiction enthusiasts. It is a masterfully crafted tale, showcasing well-developed characters, a compelling plot, and elegant prose.
James Walsh, in 'Unherd', is a lawyer at the apex of success and he finds himself navigating a labyrinth of gilded cages, each more luxurious yet suffocating than the last. The novel's strength lies in its unflinching exploration of how hollow material victories can ring when juxtaposed with the yearning for true meaning.
Walsh's journey is a masterclass in character development. We see him morph from a ruthless dealmaker to a man stripped bare, his soul aching for authenticity. His relationships, particularly with Veronica and Jessica, become touchstones, starkly contrasting societal pronouncements of worth with the whispers of one's own truth. Veronica's presence is a chilling portrait of ambition's emptiness, while Jessica, with her sudden absence, becomes a catalyst for introspection and a catalyst for his yearning for something more.
The narrative is imbued with a subtle spiritual thread, woven with equal parts Eastern and Western philosophies. James's travels to India and Tibet are not mere scenery changes; they're metaphors for his internal pilgrimage, each step echoing the resonating call of his inner self. This cross-cultural tapestry is what makes "Unherd" sing to such a broad audience, offering a universal language for exploring the dissonance between ambition's clamor and the soul's quiet tune.
In the end, "Unherd" is a thought-provoking symphony of self-discovery. As I turned the pages, with zero expectations from the prose, I was surprised at the themes the author explored and the sheer confidence to bring these themes into motion.
Book review : Unherd is a book that guides to leave the mindset of herd. Yes you got it right...what exactly we nowadays are doing is following the path where the mindset of herd or people are going..But is it true life...To break the chains of darkness, it inspires to bring light to many questions that arise in the minds of countless people.

UNHERD : A Tale of Love, Wisdom and Strength written by Kartikeya Ladha. This book will come under the self-help fictional genre.
The book has a very simple yet meaningful title. The cover image has more insight into it and I loved the design.
Why India? I picked this book for the author as I was a great fan of his writings and I love all his books. This book has a fictional story that has lots of insight and self-help awareness in it. The way how James turned and listened to his inner voice was beautifully written in this book. I can find a lot of emotions and genres in this book such as love, romance, travel, philosophy, etc. This book is very calming and soothing to read. There are more life lessons present in this story, but listening to our own inner is my favorite part. The language and the vocabulary in this book were so ravishing and perfect to read.
The story follows James Walsh, an ambitious lawyer who is determined to achieve the American Dream and build a life of status in New York City. But as he grinds for success, he begins to feel incomplete and depressed, leading him on a journey to uncover hidden secrets about his life.
One of the most impressive aspects of this book is the attention to detail and vivid descriptions of the different settings. The portrayal of India is particularly impressive, with the author painting a rich and immersive picture of the country's culture and traditions. It's evident that the author has done extensive research and put a lot of effort into crafting a realistic and believable world.
The characters are also well-developed and relatable, with James being a particularly compelling protagonist. His struggles with his ambition and the emptiness he feels despite his success are poignant and thought-provoking. The relationship between James and Veronica, his wife, is also intriguing, as it serves as a commentary on the transactional nature of some modern relationships.
The plot is well-paced, with enough twists and turns to keep readers engaged without feeling overwhelming. The mystery surrounding Jessica, the woman who enters James's life and then disappears, adds an element of intrigue to the story, and the resolution is satisfying without feeling contrived.

"Unherd: A Tale of Love, Wisdom and Strength" by Kartikeya Ladha follows a theme of spirituality which preaches that no matter how much we win in life, we will never be happy until we find peace with ourselves. The protagonist, James Walsh comes from a mixed heritage (half Indian, half American) who stays in the city of New York and is an accomplished attorney. So long in his life he has searched for fame and wealth and he had given his all to secure a lifestyle for himself. After he meets Jessica who vanishes from his life quite abruptly, he sets out on a path of self-discovery. He realises that all his life what he has been running behind is just materialistic and he spirals into darkness. This book takes us through the bylanes of philosophy and the humane understanding of a person with his soul. The author adopts a strong narrative to help the readers get in touch with the characters. The buildup into the storyline was quite catchy and the descriptions are intricate. What is more touching is how the author uses his personal experiences in the book. The moral of the novel is emancipation from oneself and the travel from materialism to the art of letting go. The book does not focus on one single theme. It explores the streets of romance and travel to adventure and gives the scope of mystery for the reader.
