Rolf the Ranger has a lot of problems for a nine-year-old boy. For one thing, he's ten feet tall and still growing. His size has its advantages, like when he helped out in battle on the Field of Snorre. But mostly his size means people won't ever understand him. Awesome! It still retains the myths and magic of The Feathered Cloak, still uniquely blended with reality, and all the great morals of the first book. This one moves on to Rolf, Freya's younger brother. Who is also part giant. And probably part god. And part shy, lonely nine-year-old who wants a freind. What he finds is a talkative squirrel who leads to Yggdrasil, The World Tree... along with everyone else who is journeying there, whether to help or hurt it. Highly recommended.

Great so far. Shares the crunchy goodness of Feathered Cloak and though I'm only in the middle of the book it clearly has got some wisdom about truth and stories and so on, my favorite thing!
