I didn’t even remember I had this book on my bookshelf until recently. I ready read the whole novel series so this was just a quick way to read about the stories and characters. Very quick way.

My quick and simple overall: quick and not bad for a book that only takes a couple hours to complete.

It is what it is ... an informative guide to the world and characters of Melissa de la Cruz's Blue Blood series. This is not the next story in line but a recap/reference, and an accumulation of BB short stories released in anthologies, short stories from Cruz's website, as well as a new one I haven't yet read.

Do not read this book if you haven't read all the books released so far (last Van Alen Legacy), spoilers.

I found this informative and a good companion to the Blue Blood series. If your a fan, then this is for you. There were a few new things and some old reminders that are key to the story. It's a good way to refresh yourself with the characters before reading the next book, Misguided Angel.

+ A list and description of all characters, including secondary characters.

+ Blue Blood dictionary terms.

+ Included is a sneak peak at Cruz's Wolf Pact series.

+ First 2 chapters of Misguided Angel (Blue Blood #5).

To My Dear Author,

I appreciate the letter you made just as much as you do Stephen King’s. I am writing this letter because I am one of your constant readers.

At first I was not an avid fan of your series but after reading the third book, which is Revelations I really got hooked with it and what piqued my interest the most is the mystery behind the real identity of Bliss Llewellyn and her affair with Dylan Ward. Afterwards, Kingsley came and my oh my! I think he’s IRRESISTIBLE * non-stop salivating* and then you made this twisted love story of him and Mimi which I so look forward to.

I like this book and I am giving it a five star rate. 5 stars for the simple reason that I got what I expected of it. ^__^ I was really curious about Sky’s father and that after reading the book the more I got entangled with questions like; could it be possible that Stephen Chase is still alive or he’s just another persona of Lucifer? Yes, pretty wild imagination right? Another thing, if Allegra’s Tomasia, who then is Giovanni and Andre?

And speaking of wild I’m totally surprised for the spin-off story for Bliss. I’m looking forward for the werewolf story. The Dylan portion was also something I really like, well at least an exposure for our miserable hero. So, I wish you good luck for the Bloody Valentine and hoping success for your Wolf Pact series for Bliss Llewellyn.

From your constant reader,
Julie :)

This companion book was very well put together. I enjoyed the letter from the author and the author notes. It made you feel closer to the world of the Bluebloods. The short stories were also good and enjoyable. I would love to see how this is written in paperback [I read the audio] because of the files and notes from the repository. A good book and you should read it after book 4, not like I'm doing and only reading it after book 6.

It didn't really give new information about the Blue Bloods, it just simply restated or summarized what happened on all the books. There were some new facts, like Bliss's background and Dylan's untold story, but they were minimal compared to the things that most readers of this series already know.

I liked Bliss' story and her encounter with werewolves. It was a sneak peak for Ms. Dela Cruz's upcoming series.

There were so many terms and names that were not really necessary to mention. Some information were repetitive. I didn't finish reading the appendix and list of familiars.

I suppose that for what this is, it's decent, but this really wasn't what I was anticipating sooooooo 2 stars it is.

I went into this under the impression it was going to be strictly novellas in the BB universe but this was a lot more than that. It was basically a summary of what has happened already in the series, it provides lots of character descriptions for everyone from major characters to the tiniest secondary character (literally just lists the names of some people). It is definitions of terminology used in the series, and lots of other useless information that I literally never asked for. Some of it does help clear up some of the events in the earlier books, but it just really wasn't necessary?

I wish that I had taken the time to read the reviews of this before I read it, because I probably would have skipped it. Or I would have waited to read this rather than placing it directly in the middle of the binge of this series.

Why did I keep reading it? I was hoping for more novellas, but unfortunately they were limited.

Hopefully the rest of the series picks back up since it will continue with the actual plot rather than whatever this was.

It is a little ridiculous to give this book a rating, given that it is just a companion to the Blue Blood series with lists of terms, important characters, and a few short stories thrown in for good measure, but I’m going to do it anyway. However, I am going to anyway since I don’t think that this book really added anything to the stories or, frankly, needed. That being said, it was very useful for me since I haven’t picked up one of the books in this series in a while and I refuse to start the series again. The short stories, aside from the one from Kingsley’s point of view, really didn’t add anything about the characters or the novels as a whole. A solid three-star book and probably really interesting to fans of the series, especially with the second connected series being written currently.

This isn't something you need to read to understand what's going on, but it does have additional information about the world and might answer some questions you have about characters or terms. The first half felt like a recap of events so far, as well as a summary of each main character. The second half has some short stories that I liked, especially Dylan's. There's also a glossary of words or phrases used and a cute summary of the various dogs that belong to the blue blood characters.

This was okay. It helped refresh my memory since it’s been a while since I picked up this series, but a lot of it kind of dragged. Especially the glossary and some of the family profiles.

For a novella, Keys to the Repository felt kind of pointless. Unless the main mission was just to give us more information on everyone? Could just be me thinking this way though.

I just began this book, and I must say I’m finding it hard to get through the first 15 pages. It basically recaps everything that has happened throughout the whole series. Pretty soon my interest was waning and I couldn't take it anymore. The first 3 books of this series were really good and the last one was a little boring to get through. It was not captivating enough, sometimes there is too much information and a little less action. I don't know why but I feel like there is something missing because the series is beginning to lose its appeal to me now. But, because I like this author and I like the characters, I’ll try to continue on reading this book. I shall edit my review once I am done.

I've realised that this book is actually a "document/mini-biography" on each of the characters and it focuses on small parts throughout the series that have already occurred and reflects on them. Sorry guys, its come to my attention (belatedly...like at page 50...)that this book is not exactly a story, I opened this book with the wrong expectations, I was under the impression that it was the sequel to the 4th book. Unfortunately I couldn't go any further in reading it. Good Luck to anyone else, you've been warned.

When I first read about this book I wasn't too excited since I'm not a big fan of companion books to series I enjoy. However, when I was offered the chance to review it I thought why not give it a try. I'm am glad that I did. It is filled with "files" on each of the main characters giving more background of which angel they are, their conduits and character observations. There are also short stories that fill in gaps from the rest of the books so we get to see more of Dylan's background, meetings between Jack and Schuyler and what happened between Kingsley and Mimi that brought them closer together. The best part in my opinion was that we get to a glimpse of Cruz's next series, Wolf Pact. It is just tantalizing enough to leave you wanting to read more and I cannot wait for the first book to come out. The book closes with the first two chapters of Misguided Angel just to wet your appetite for its release later this year. I would highly recommend this series for anyone who is a fan of the Blue Bloods series. It has me wanting to reread the entire series.

Overall I really enjoyed the background and side stories from this. I think this could've been longer and contained more information, but that could probably give away things that have not yet happened in the series. Definitely a must read for people who put the series on hold as it has a great recap of the first four books. Excited to continue the series and find out more about the Van Alen Legacy!

This book gives a lot of great background into the characters that are featured in the Blue Bloods series. I loved learning the extra details about them. I also loved the extra scenes that we see in this especially the one with Bliss. I think it's pretty important to read that one before going forward with the series. This is a cute little novella and it also is a great recap of the first four books.

This book is a great insider. Inside it gives you different back rounds on all the characters, even some information you didn't know. It also gives you short stories of the beginning of blue bloods and how they came to be. If you have read and love the blue blood series, then you need this book. It will give you valuable insight into the Blue blood history.

Actual Stars 3.5

I love The Blue Blood series. This is one of my favorite series, it has 4 elements that I really like: Vampires, Romance, Young Adult and Paranormal! But this book was pretty much unnecessary. It gave a bit of a recap and some more details on characters thoughts and circumstances that added on to the first 4 books. If Melissa de la Cruz had concentrated on the characters back stories or add ons to the events that took place I would have loved it. But the recap was boring and then it went into A List of Secondary Characters and a Dictionary of Terms that I thought was a waste of writing and space!

I think the only reason I gave it this high of a rating was because this is an awesome series, I found out because of this book there is a small spin off where Bliss hunts the Hounds of Hell (Wolf Pact Series) and Ms. de la Cruz added the first two chapters to Misguided Angel. Now that was good, and it has me psyched for Number 5 in The Blue Bloods Series!

I liked this accompaniment novella. It had some very interesting sections and all the break downs of families and terminology was and added bonus! The author's side notes were also fun tidbits. At times it can be pretty repetitive though.

I wasn't really sure what to expect of this book. I find that novellas are usually very hit and miss and as I find the first three of Melissa de la Cruz's books to be fairly average I was convinced that this was going to be a miss. Then, I read book four in the Blue Bloods series, The Van Allen Legacy (click here for review) and my hope was restored. Unfortunately, my high spirits were short lived as I found this novella to be a disappointment.

As with the previous four synopses, I felt that the blurb missed telling the reader what the book was actually about. The Goodreads summary is much better than the blurb on the paperback because it actually tells you what is included in this book: a series of short stories, journal entries, and never-before-seen letters. I was quite excited about this because I thought it would be a nice quick read that would clarify the blank spots in my memory about who was who and who was related to whom - the what, why, how etc., which in some ways it was, but the way that it was presented bothered me.

This book starts off with a recap of the previous four books, which I found to be a little boring and useless given that I have just read the previous books. Then there are a series of records on each Blue Blood family stating who a character is, who they used to be, how that character is linked to other characters and other relevant details about their lives. I say relevant, though in my opinion some of them were completely random and irrelevant. It was a little boring, but it was a useful recap. Then, suddenly, we're thrown into a short story about Jack and Schuyler's first meeting in their secret apartment. Talk about random. It was an interesting little snippet into their lives and I enjoyed it, but I was puzzled by its strange placement in this novella. Immediately after this short story, it went back to more character records. After a few more records, we were right back into another short story, this time about Mimi and Kingsley. The book continued in this way with short stories randomly slotted in to break up the character records. There's also a sneak peak at 'Wolf Pact', another book by Melissa de la Cruz, which was really interesting, but again, random. I had no idea that this series was linked to the Blue Bloods (it's about Bliss and her hunt to find the hounds of hell) so i'll be adding that to my TBR pile.

At the end of the book there are three appendices, one about the secondary characters in the series, one about -- and one about ---. I found these appendices to be long and boring, especially the one that went on for pages and pages listing all the secondary characters in the series, who, in my opinion, have no real relevance. I found this part extremely boring and skimmed through the list of names of people I could barely remember.

All in all, i was incredibly disappointed by this novella. the only parts that I really enjoyed were the short stories, but I just don't understand why they were slotted in so randomly. I felt that book was really disorganised and a bit all over the place. The majority of the records contain in un interesting details about characters or repeat information that the readers already know. This is also my least favourite cover in the series. It was so black and more glam, less vampire.

As you can tell I was very unimpressed by this novella; however, I think this was partly because I read it straight after The Van Allen Legacy (Blue Bloods #4) which was really good and because I've read the previous books really recently. I think this novella will appeal to those who are getting back into this series after a long pause and have forgotten who some of the characters are. The short stories are cute and give a few more details about Dylan, Bliss, Schuyler and Jack, and Mimi and Kingsley, but I'm not sure whether its worth reading through all the Repository's records just for these stories. On the plus side its a really quick read so I didn't waste too much time on it.

Someone else should read this because it was a good book. it got a little confusing sometimes, but it made sense. I feel people who like to read about mythical creatures this book is for them, or if they want to learn more about the mythical creatures. I would also recommend this too people who are already reading this book series because they would want to keep reading all the books.

first things first i want the book to be named the boys of blue bloods:get to know them better haha!
this book is a companion to the blue bloods saga. it gives additional information about the characters of the book but what i appreciated the most of this book, is the author provided some short chapter about the perspetive of the
3 boys Jack(insert high loud squeal), Dylan and Kingsley

i did enjoy reading Jack's perspective *dreamy eyes* it's titled the lie that concealed the truth Or "the last meeting"

its a companion to revelations. it details schuyler and Jack's final encounter from jack's perspective.
(i really empathize with jack in this short story ) dammit Sky! why do you have to broke Jack's Heart? X(

i must say i am proud of ms.melissa dela cruz! she is a fiipino author but she is well known internationally for her literary works. :)i'm really excited on how will the book end but i know it will be an EPIC ENDING!

and also in this book you will get to read the first chapter
of Wolf Pact (bliss quest on finding the hounds of hell)

part of me is happy that i've read this book companion but another part of me is sad because it made me yearn more for Bloody Valentine.. i really want the copy of that book so BAD! *i'm effin going crazy*

Technically, this is not a novel. Rather, this is a guide for the Blue Bloods Series by Melissa de la Cruz. In it, there are character biographies, a glossary of terms, and other useful information to keep the plotlines and characters in the series straight. Plus, there are a few short stories as well that are missing chapters or further insights into characters.

Unlike some readers, I went into this book knowing full well exactly what it was, so I wasn't disappointed. However, like some readers, if I had purchased it, thinking that it would be the next novel in the series, I would have been disappointed. Basically, this book is for someone who is an avid Blue Bloods fan, someone who wants to own the complete collection. Even with that said, though - and this is coming from an obsessive bibliophile, I wouldn't pay full price for the guidebook. Rather, I would wait until it was on sale (like I did) and buy it that way. Realistically, there just isn't enough substance in the publication to warrant spending full price.

A head's up, though, for all the Schuyler/Jack fans: there are couple short stories which are a must read for this couple - one, Schuyler and Jack's first meeting at their secret apartment and, two, their final meeting at their secret apartment when Schuyler leaves him.

All I can say is MISGUIDED ANGEL better get her soon. In many ways this reference book is kind of dry: stories of all the families and characters from the other books, histories of the vampires...all are told in a very dry fashion. But it's supposed to be reference material, compiled, censored, and stored by the librarians.

The treats are hidden chapters. For each of the four previous books, there was a hidden chapter...I only discovered them with the last book. They're all here...so we learn more about Schuyler, Dylan, Jack, and Kingsley. We also get sneak-peeks of the new book. AND the first chapter in a new series starring the now-human Bliss in her search for the wolves. So, the price is worth it for all those pieces.

I've marked several pages that I'm predicting will be important in the next book, for which I am waiting IMPATIENTLY!

Fun to read. I'm eager to share.

The perfect companion to the Blue Bloods series. Because of all the different names and terms in the books, this volume can really help straighten things out and help to explain. I enjoyed the snapshot stories, and the sneak peek into the newest Blue Blood novel. I didn't read all of the background information on the characters, but I loved that it was there. There's not much to say about this book because it's a companion book, and is therefore not plot based. I would recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed the Blue Bloods series and is interested in reading more details and back story about the Blue Bloods, or even about specific characters from the series. Also, I think the cover is gorgeous and intriguing.

I really enjoyed this book being different and a side book of the series. I also enjoyed the authors notes. Most of this book is information that the reader already knows, however it is written as a summary from a different point if view. There is also new info though. Stuff that took place in the previous books with other characters that reader didn't get to see ands those were my favorite parts if this book. That being said the last pages of the book is very boring because it its a list if characters and words. Not going to lie I skimmed the last three pages. I read this book in one sitting and couldn't continue any longer.

"Keys To The Repository" is part of a series called Blue Bloods. They are books about vampires, filled with mysteries, action and forbidden romance. This book individually talks a lot about the Blue Blood and Silver Blood Covens. The vampires that belong to each side and their story of their mysterious life. I recommend this book to any teen that enjoyed the Twilight series, it has so much in common but also is so different. I do not recommend this book, or series to any young children mainly because the action can be really vivid or horrifying at times and the romance may not be appropriate for young readers. I enjoyed reading this book very much and plan on reading the rest of the series.

'Keys to the Reposity': I absolutely ZOOOOOMED through the thing. It was mostly boring and included lots of background and history information about the main character of the series. There were lots of data-file like pages which gave lots of information about characters like Cordelia and Lawrence Van Alen. I loved some of the little short stories whilst found others a tad boring. I didn't exactly understand why the author wrote the novella except for the fact that it was supposed to bridge the gap between books four and five in the series.
Congratulations to Melissa de la Cruz on publishing her first novella in the 'Blue Bloods' series!
