It started out innocently. One simple, harmless lie. Or two. Possibly three. Now Taryn Blake is caught in her own web of lies and searching for a lifeline. While trying to weave her way through damage control, she’s hit with another blow. Taryn finds herself in a world of trouble, forced to rely on an unlikely hero and lands her at the mercy of a biker who seems hellbent on making her repent. Not an easy task for a strong-willed woman. On the surface, Taryn gives everyone what they want to see, an unbreakable force of confidence and unwavering strength. Taryn has worked long and hard to build that façade, and no one, not even a sexy, sharp-tongued biker who makes her palms sweat and her heart race, can break down her walls. Or can he?
Ryan “Brew” Larsen does not have forever in mind. As a well-known infamous bachelor in the Ghosttown East Motorcycle Club, the last thing he has on his mind is settling down. He is not the type of man to play a knight in shining armor, but he lands the role when an unsuspecting woman deems him “her” man and gets entangled with a rival motorcycle club, putting herself in the line of fire. Brew should abandon her and let her sink or swim with her lies. But? He’s invested, and his growing desire for the little liar isn’t something he can deny. This woman has changed the game for him. Taryn has managed to do something countless others have tried to do and failed. She’s forced her way into Brew’s life, under his skin, and into his heart.
Brew and Taryn may be all in with their relationship built on deceit, but Taryn’s lies have greater consequences than anyone could have foreseen.
Amelia Shea writes contemporary romance. She released her debut novel in 2015, and has followed her passion for series romance ever since. Her writing style includes a little sweet, a little sassy and lots of steam. She loves building stories with settings that become comfortable and familiar, and developing characters who feel real, and though they may be flawed, they learn and grow, and finally deserve a happy ending. When she is not writing, she is obsessed with reading (all genres although she does has a soft spot for romance), coffee (it's more of an addiction but she prefers obsession) and perfecting her "y'all" (just a northern girl living in the south).
We've seen Brew's Old Lady in a couple of books now, so when I realized this one would be about her I was amused, couldn't wait to see how she explained things. For the most part it was innocent and she was lucky that Brew thought it was funny and wasn't upset.
Taryn really fit in good with the other Old Lady's and even the brothers. They gave her benefit of the doubt and gave her a job. It didn't take long before Taryn proved that she was right to get that job and made things better. During the course of work Taryn got caught in the cross fire and things were really iffy for a bit. I'm glad that things ended up good there and find myself intrigued with her knew text friend. I also loved how things ended for Brew and Taryn.
On a side note, the 3 prospects each had interesting roles. I was happy what happened to Chase, really couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Feel bad for Pete, he is a doofus, but his chat with Taryn at the end made me a bit sad. I hope the MC realizes what a prize they have in him. Ryder, always trusted, but I think his secret is out to the main Ghosttown club, at least one of them seemed to have realized there was more there. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
This book...so many different emotions, from laughing out loud, to snickering, to really hoping that Pete gets to become a full brother. Plus the fact that all of our favorite characters are once again making life a little bit better. Once again Amelia Shea has brought to life a series that gets better with each new book.
Taryn Blake used Ryan "Brew" Larsen once to get into a club party that she never planned to do it again, that is until a few people tried to screw her around. Taryn does not believe there is any harm in dropping Brew's name but when Brew confronts her, she realizes it could have real consequences.
Brew had not put a stop to Taryn's use of his name, but now that it is having ramifications for him he lays it out. Brew has been denying he is attracted to Taryn and decides to take a chance on the little liar. When another club though poses a threat, will he be able to protect her before it is too late?
I was waiting for this one and thoroughly pleased with how this story unfolded. I also liked the few surprises that could lead to other books. This is such a reread worthy series; I have enjoyed every book and they keep getting better.
Brew and Taryn’s story is just simple AWESOME!!!! There was not a single pet of this tale that I didn’t love. There is mystery, MC & club girl drama, intrigue and a whole lot of super spicy goodness. These 2 are made for each other - they just GET each other on a soul level. The way they love each other and navigate their way to a HEA is so sweet. I also loved the other storylines happening and the last few chapters and epilogue!!!! I know we are getting some great stories coming up!!! Can’t wait!!!
Every book I've ever read by this author rings the gauntlet of emotions: laughter and tears - funny his, emotional bits, a feeling of belonging and just great reading.
Brew is an every man type character, who is in the mc for the brotherhood. He meets his match in the lying "Brew's old lady", a gutsy woman and friend to Ice's old lady. They survive thru some of those lies, family ties that hurt and a very dangerous MC.
I like the kernels of Saint and Hades figuring out Ryder's secret Ghosttown connection and Ryder messing his lady love. And I like the introduction of the new MC.... And interest in a Wrath and Cleo book.
Such a fantastic addition to the East Family. Yes it’s a stand-alone but if you have not read them all…you don’t know what you are missing. I didn’t like Taryn at first but then….when Wren and Lil went to bat for her, she made sense to me and I felt a kindred spirit. Brew was the man for her. He loves all the parts and pieces that makes up Taryn and that is all a woman can really ask for! This is such a good book and worth the read. Dive into Ghosttown and don’t look back. You won’t regret it.
Another fabulous story and must read. Taryn did a lot of name dropping and claiming she was Brew's old lady, even though it was a lie at the time. Brew thought it was funny at times and especially for her reasons for doing it, well until it kind of backfired. Glory to be that Chase finally got what he deserved. I really do hope that the club will vote Pete in as a member, but he is definitely naive and just too sweet. A few twist and turns throughout and you need to read the book to find out what happens next. Happy reading.
As usual Amelia has done an amazing book.. absolutely loved this book as all the rest. Brew was a great character and perfect for Taryn, good storyline with just enough drama to make me want to stay up to read it but age has forced me to go bed. Can't wait for Ryder and Sydney's book, looking forward to how Gunner is involved though I can guess... I think lol P.s Cleo needs a book too and Pete 😊
Another great hit for Amelia Shea...boy does she know how to write a book. Amelia never lets me down. I admit it took me a while to write the review because I was on vacation to see our Grand children and our new Great Granddaughter so I was busy for a month. BUT I read when they slept! Taryn and Brew make up an unusual match with Taryn constantly lying. But thank goodness Brew handled it (eventually). Loved this book and can't wait for The Prospect to come out.
This is kind of like a slow burn romance. Taryn is an amazing woman who has been laid off and looking for work. One of her BFF Everleigh is now engaged to Ice. That means Taryn is around Ice and his brothers often. She has taking liberties from Brew by using his name around town. Taryn has been going around town stating that she is Brew’s old lady. She is trouble, but sometimes good trouble. Read On!
I love Taryn! The way she keeps mentioning a man she doesn't even know to help her out of sticky situations is amusing. Of course when it's a member of an MC things start to get crazy. Love the drama and the suspense. I did not see the way some things played out but I did love the romance between Brew and Taryn. He's one of the good ones.
I loved this book! It had all the elements humor, passion, suspense but best of all a mother who was a serial bride. This hit close to home as my mom was married many times always searching for her perfect man. I recommend this book and look forward to Ms. Shea's next great adventure.
For my first read of 2023 in would say it was a hell of a ride.
Great chemistry between Teryn and Brew Drama for days and and a heap of sexy biker goodness.
Teryn is hilarious with her antics and keeping Brew on his toes. Brew is a saint putting up with Teryn and her wild ways. The two make for a hell of a couple.
Brew's story has lots of humor to make you laugh out loud. It also has a grittier/more violent aspect than previously seen in the series. Each book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading them in order to understand the overall background.
Brew and Taryn are an unusual and complicated couple. Taryn lied about being Brew’s old lady. Her lies finally caught up with her. She promises to stop misconceptions about her status with Ghost-town East Mc. I enjoyed reading about the other old ladies and the MC members. The storyline was excellent and entertaining.
What started out as a way to get into the MC was a lie. Then it just rolled off her tongue. Taryn is quick witted and smart. There is a lot of laughter with Taryn but Brew learns more about her. What she went through as a child. Luckily Brew has a great mom and sisters. He was very understanding. They make a great team. A lot of laughs.
Taryn had me at “I’m Brew’s Old Lady”. I loved her! She is literally the perfect Old Lady. She has sass, brass and class.
This series is amazing. Every book draws me deeper and deeper into the club. Brew is the big ol’ badass with a good heart. I wanted this couple together and it might have had a couple bumps, but worth it.
Ok, these books need to be made into a television series!!! The characters, their stories, the chaos, all of it would be helluva binge watch! I can picture the scenes in my head! Amelia Shea does such an excellent job writing these stories that you feel like you are right there!!
I think this is my favourite one of the East books, this couple together are awesome ,I love this series and this author, another 5 star read, highly recommend this book to everyone 🖤❤️
The story was incredible. Sexy Brew and kick ass Taryn, the liar, has it all. Sexy times, scary drama, sweet family times and Chase finally gets some of what he deserves. A must read.
I loved this book. Slow burn romance between Brew and Taryn. Loved them as a couple. Loved the epilogue. Pete makes me laugh. Ryder is awesome, I'm looking forward to his book.
Another home run! Absolutely love Brew and Taryn. If you haven’t read anything by this author, you are truly missing out. I would suggest reading in order to fully get the effects of the series. I really want Pete to get patched it!
Well done, I truly appreciate your humor and thank you for this beautiful story. Brew deserves a HEA, and his lady is so headstrong and confident. I can’t wait for Ryder's story because it's gonna go boom.
The storyline grabs you from the start and keeps you invested in the characters right to the end and then you need to get all the other books in the series to get to know the other brothers
Absolutely loved Brew and Taryn’s story ❤️❤️❤️she’s such a funny liar lol 😂 they make the best couple and I love all the characters in theMC. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amelia Shea has done it again. This book is great. I have loved every Ghosttown Riders and Ghosttown East book. Each one makes me laugh and cry. And I love the way she leads you into the next book with new characters and clues a really great read and believe me I have read alot
A great addition to this fabulous series well written as always I love Brew and his little liar great story line twist turns action steam humour wish we saw a-bit more of grain with the girls can’t wait for the next
I really enjoyed this book ! Had to sneak in a chapter here and there during the holidays. So worth sneaking away to read this fun book. Ryder the old lady whisper! One off the best lines ever. Great read
Taryn loved dropping Brew's name whenever she was in trouble. Brew that it was funny but then found himself thinking of Taryn being his old lady. This was a fun book to read not what I was expecting from the title. Lmao
