Harvest Grove
Another Halloween season is upon us! As usual, please be mindful of the movie fans traveling from Vine Street to Cinnamon Way.

Favorite bar owner, Ford Prescott, is back in town for his yearly stay, making this his sixth October in Harvest Grove! Be sure to welcome him warmly when you see him at the Wicked Pub and Grub. Single ladies - try not to overwhelm the poor man with so many baked goods this year.

Sidney Tanner wants residents to know her Severed Head Succulents will be buy one, get one free before the countdown to midnight begins on October Eve. Since it’s likely she’ll be in jail at some point that night, please text her your orders.

Still seeking volunteers for various events around
*Someone to organize pumpkin carving night at the Gore House.
*An extra, bloody cheerleader for the yearly viewing of The Babysitter’s Last Halloween. Costume will be provided.
*A brave soul to keep an eye on the Tanner girls this month. We don’t want a repeat of last year’s corn maze incident, or the mashed potato fiasco in poor Jarvis’s yard previously.

We assume Ford will be volunteering for that last one, since he and Sidney are always joined at the hip when he’s in town. A little bat tells me these October best friends will be heating things up in town this year. Sparks will be flying–no offense to Colleen or the Tanner girls who set her garage on fire–and these two might just be carving out some time for love this Halloween!

Fasten your sheet belts, Harvest Grove! Let’s hope when the clock strikes midnight on October 31st, our dear Sidney won’t be ghosted again…

Stop Ghosting Me is a fun holiday read. If you love Halloween and are looking for a festive romance to get you in the holiday mood, this is the book for you. It’s a bit over the top at times, but I enjoyed Ford and Sidney’s romance. Her family was wild and the miscommunication wasn’t my favorite, but other than that I enjoyed it!

Stop Ghosting Me by Tara Sivec is a stand alone, romantic comedy and I adored it! This book is crazy funny, so sweet, and I’ve never met a hero that was more determined to be everything to the woman he loves, even when she didn’t know it was him taking care of her! I swooned so much!

Just a little background, this little town of Harvest Grove became famous for a campy horror movie that was filmed there back in the early seventies. The movie itself wasn’t that good but has developed a huge following over the years. The town is Halloween crazy and they spend the entire month of October celebrating the holiday and the movie which draws hundreds of tourists.

Our heroine, Sidney Tanner, is twenty six years old and is Halloween obsessed. She has worked for the town’s bar, Wicked Pub and Grub, for years. Sidney is a force of nature. Her life revolves around everything Halloween! Also around keeping her younger sister and cousin out of trouble, which often lands her in the town’s one tiny little jail cell, where she has her own chair, just for her!

Ford Prescott is thirty two years old. He spends eleven months of the year in Oregon running his family’s logging business. But for one glorious month a year, in October, he spends his time in Harvest Grove, checking up on the bar he also owns. He also spends every minute of that month as close to Sidney as he can get. Since they were best friends. At least that’s what she thinks, while all he really does is ache inside wanting more.

Now that time for more is here. Ford is ready to stay in Harvest Grove full time and for the woman he loves to finally be his. But first, he has to get her used to the idea of their relationship changing. He’ll do it slowly, get her to trust him. At least that’s the way he plans it! But things don’t exactly work out that way!

The whole book was so much fun. What a crazy town! But also so adorable. And with every deed that we learned that Ford had done for Sidney, I fell more in love with him. And I absolutely have to mention Sidney’s best friend, Callie, and her husband Marcus. Marcus also works at the pub as a manager and bartender. These two were a force and so much fun. Marcus especially! I would love to visit this town if there was a real one like it! What a fantastic, sweet, steamy, fun book this was! I loved every page of it!

I laughed at and felt for these characters through the whole story. It's best friends to lovers with mutual pining for YEARS. I don't think this book will be for all of my GR friends though, there's non-communication, some toxic family dynamics, and you will want to shake some characters lol. But if you read through even the frustrating parts, you get to a point where it all comes together, realizations are made, and you're rewarded with a wonderful HEA. Plus, all the Halloween goodness, seriously the whole town gets into the holiday in a super fun (and funny) way. Written in first person, dual POV. Tiny bits of om/ow drama where the H and h get jealous over others showing interest but each of them is only about the other and neither are virgins (h has been celibate for 6 years, shortly after meeting H and I don't remember it being explicitly stated but I'm 99% sure H was also celibate since meeting her).

In one corner, we have Sidney (h), who is a Halloween queen with a crazy af man-hating family who she constantly bails out of sticky situations. In the other corner, we have Ford (H), who's the head of a billion dollar lumber company and comes to town for the month of Oct each year after inheriting a bar in town (where Sidney works) from his deceased grandfather. These two met 6 years ago at the bar and have spent each October since being besties and spending all their time together until Ford leaves again on Nov 1st. What neither realizes is that they're each pining until Ford returns to town and is acting differently because he's positioned his life where he can finally be with Sidney permanently. He's always taken care of her and done anything she needs while in town, but now he's making sexy comments and heating her up. While she's trying to pull back because she doesn't want to be devastated again on Nov 1st.

Their chemistry and love for each other was so clear and special, but watching them struggle with Ford not wanting to freak Sidney out with his long-term plans and Sidney struggling with being afraid of deeper feelings was sometimes really hard. Ford's devotion to her was amazing though and once she's shown all the ways he cared and thought about her all year-long, just *sigh*. He keeps asking her if she's paying attention and it takes time for that light bulb to go off. It is a slow burn romance for sexy times as well as them getting their acts together officially. They do get very steamy though once they hit their stride with that side of their relationship. Lots of swooniness and humor along the way too.

The side characters in this book stand out big time, they're loud and want attention. Sidney's family are crazy and don't appreciate her, but there are some moments that are eye-opening showing some softer sides. Sidney's BFF and her husband are hilariously supportive of both Sidney and Ford. The town gets in on the hilarity in different ways and Ford's stuck-up family also make appearances.

Even though it was obvious Ford wasn't going to accept any ending where he doesn't get to care for Sidney for the rest of their lives *heart eyes*, their HEA does take the whole book to get to but is really adorable, including the epilogue a year out. It wrapped up their romance and their family situations well too. I really enjoyed this book after DNFing a crazy amount of books the two days prior.

Five HOLY HALLOWEEN stars!!! No one writes small town rom-coms quite like TS, and this is my new favorite one!!! I basked in all of the festive fall and Halloween things, loved how Halloween obsessed the town is, and adored all of the funny and crazy people in this book! Harvest Grove is a charming little town where everyone knows everyone...and all of their business. Ford Prescott finds himself all the way from Oregon after finding out that his late grandfather had a secret bar in Harvest Grove, where he disappeared to every single October.

Ford fully intends to sell the bar, considering that his current life is a dumpster fire, but then he meets cheerful and adorable Sidney, and basically falls head over heels for her. Only she doesn't do relationships and he's fresh off the heels of one that crashed and burned. So he gives her the only thing he can at the moment, a very close friendship for the month of October, before he ghosts her and leaves back to his life in Oregon, leaving Sidney sad and lonely.

This goes on for six years, and Ford is finally able to close the chapter of his Oregon life, and start a new one in Harvest Grove, only...Sidney is still of the mindset that they're only friends and that he's going to ghost her again. She's completely in love with him, but she's also really confused when he starts sending her big time mixed signals. What does this mean, a fling? She doesn't want to be flung! While I want to kick miscommunication troupe in the fucking throat, this book was so cute and funny that I really didn't mind it.

Throw in a nosy ass bartender with a bro crush and an equally nosy wife, a whiny, harmless deputy, twin terrors that hate men and devote their lives to getting back at cheating assholes in the funniest ways possible, and two old biddies who were cheated on by their husbands and have successfully written relationships out of their lives only to replace them with mischief, you've got yourself a hilarious book. Can't wait to reread this every October!

Sidney and Ford

Cute story about Ford who stops in once a year for the month of October to check on a bar has grandfather left him. Once there he hangs out with Sidney, his best friend, who is a waitress at the bar. Funny, but was not laugh-out-loud, pee-in-your-pants hilarious I expected from Tara Sivec.

DNF: I love a Tara Sivec rom com, but this one just wasn't for me. I tried to get into it three different times in three different moods, but it pushed all of my friends to lovers buttons and drove me kinda crazy. Entirely an "it's not you, it's me" thing, so I'm choosing to leave it unfinished. Still a very fun and festive read if friends to lovers is your jam.

Sidney + Ford

Sidney lives in a small town that's known for having been the location for a horror movie over 40 years ago. So every year the month of October is insane. The whole town is pure Halloween amazigness. At least that's how Sidney sees it. Well how it would be if her crazy family wouldn't make her life even crazier.
Sidney loves Halloween and the whole of October.
And she would also love Ford. But they both don't do love. And he's only in town for October. Every year. For six years now he's been her bestest October friend.
Nothing more.
Until this year...maybe.

Let the fun times begin... 🎃

LOL! ADORABLE!

I just loved this!

Fall is my favorite time of year. Not a huge Halloween person, but still. October is the best ever!

description

I loved Sidney and Ford so much!
Both have not won the family lottery.
Sidney's sister, mom, aunt and cousin are extreme man haters!
And Ford's parents and brother only want the money their company can give them. How it's made - they don't care - Ford will take care of things.
But not anymore. Ford is finally done with Oregon and the family business. He's ready for his happily ever after in Halloween town with the love of his life. The only problem. Sidney has no idea about any of that - yet.
And her crazy family and the crazy town might not make things easy for him.
LOL!
I just adored this.
The whole #Halloween and #pumpkin and #family and #BakedGoodsLadies and #Tricks and #GettingArrested CRAZINESS of it all.
Perfect October Rom-Com.
I NEED to see this on TV one day!

STOP GHOSTING ME was the most adorable + hilarious Halloween love story. I just loved it! Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Ford ... this one is mine!

Sidney Tanner is always in trouble but it is usually because she is covering for other people. But she is also outspoken, stubborn, smart, anxious, and has trust issues. Her favorite time of year is Halloween and October when her best friend comes to stay for a month each year.

Ford Prescott comes to Harvest Grove every October and has for six years. But he is busy running his family's logging camp most of the year and enjoys his month in town and spending time with Sidney. He is big, gruff, protective, generous, rich, and is a fixer. He is a bit of an enigma and a quiet, analytical thinker. He has always said he was anti-relationship as well, and is used to feeling like he lets people down.

This is an interesting setup. They have been stuck in the friend zone for six years both assuming the other does not have a romantic interest in the other. But there is more going on behind the scenes. But this year things might be a bit different. Sidney is not sure exactly what is going on, but Ford seems to be flirtier and dirtier with her and stepping out of the friend zone. But they both have trust issues and a lot to lose if they mess this up, and oh my these two are not the best at communicating about things that are really important

This is a snappy, funny, slow-burn, spicy, friends-to-lovers rom-com set in a Halloween town full of quirky and mischievous characters and there are lots of over-the-top shenanigans. I loved Ford especially once we got into his head to see his true feelings. He is just so caring, attentive, protective, thoughtful, sexy, and swoony. And Sidney is a hot mess, but has a big heart. They are just so sweet and hot together. I liked that there were more layers to the story than it originally seemed, and that there were some surprises and twists.

It definitely puts you in the fall and Halloween spirit as these people are serious about their holiday. There are plenty of wild side characters causing trouble, especially her sister and cousin.

I can always count on Tara Sivec putting a smile on my face. Whether it’s on Summer Sweet Island or now in Harvest Grove, she brings humor and love with no drama to every one of her stories. They are all fun, interesting and always have a happily ever after.

Sidney and Ford were no exception to any of the rules that Tara Sivec makes for her characters. They were both moody, yet fun. They were both in love but refused to admit it. They were both meant for each other. Sidney has no idea to what lengths Ford would go to to protect her and make sure she’s safe. And Ford has no idea that Sidney is all talk and definitely no action. With the help of Marcus and finally paying attention, Ford and Sidney find their way to true love.

And, the road to true love was paved with lots of candy corn, hot dogs on a stick, mashed potatoes, care bears and lots and lots of pumpkins … a few trips to jail, a haunted house and Pumpkin Slap Shots. But, they traveled that road with a smile and a scowl, hand in hand.

I love Tara Sivec and how she brings her characters and her stories to life. She always puts a humorous spin on everything that she writes. Her characters are quirky and are surrounded by other characters that are just as much fun as the main ones are. This story wouldn’t have been the same without Penny and Ginger, Marcus and Callie, Aunt Dawn and Kenny. And, of course, the “dumb bitch” cat. Yep, another hilariously written, love inducing book by Tara Sivec. Trick or Treat!

A delightful rom-com just in time for the fall season with the perfect balance of naughty, nice and spice – and a ton of hysterically kooky and batty characters. This treat is certain to set the Halloween mood in anticipation for the arrival of witches on their broomsticks, ghosts and goblins.

A quick and fast-paced trick-or-treater’s delight that delivers a bewitching romance that will entrance you with its delicious humor, dollop of suspense and delectable characters.

Stop Ghosting me delivered an over the top, sweet & sexy romcom with a nod to the Scream movies.

Sidney Tanner sells Severed Head Succulents, swears she’ll never be in a committed relationship, and is the family protector. Which includes being arrested yearly for Halloween shenanigans she didn’t commit.

Ford Prescott, the owner of Wicked Pub and Grub, is back in town for his yearly visit. Sidney & Ford are usually joined at the hip when he returns each year. Professed besties, but the chemistry sizzling between these two is electric. They both have some baggage, but this year is different.

The romance set against the crazy & quaint tourist small town of Harvest Grove was hilarious and festive. Pumpkin carving, slasher films, bonfires and trick or treating will get you in the mood and make you laugh.

I adored both Sidney and Ford. This was my first solo experience with the author and I can see why she is so popular. This was the perfect escape and made me laugh and swoon. If you love the small-town Halloween vibe with local contest and events, you’ll love the charm. Just grab a candy apple and settle in.

Vanessa Vasquez & Gregory Salinas did a great job bringing these characters to life. If your fear factor is low, but you love the spooky season, I recommend listening.

Fans of the Scream movies will love all the nods. You can spot some right in the synopsis.

Sidney Tanner loves all things Halloween, as does her hometown of Harvest Grove. But she also has a tendency to wind up in the town jail due to shenanigans that are often outside of her control. She looks forward to October every year, not only because of Halloween, but also because she looks forward to Ford Prescott’s annual trip. Each year, she hopes maybe they will move beyond the friend zone, but she always finds herself alone when the calendar turns to November 1.

Ford Prescott found himself the owner of the Wicked Pub & Grub 6 years ago after his grandfather passed away. Every October since, he has returned to Harvest Grove to check on the place and keep Sidney out of trouble. At the end of the month, he has always returned to his family’s logging company for the remainder of the year. But this year, maybe things will be different.

Six years of being friend zoned is tough to break through, especially when they each think the other only has platonic feelings, while they are hiding their own spicier hopes. I loved watching them dance around each other without connecting all the dots.

The town of Harvest Grove is almost a character in itself. The Halloween celebrations act as the backdrop for many of Sidney and Ford’s biggest moments. I loved all the women throwing baked goods at Ford, and Sidney’s irrational jealousy (and tendency to throw any tupperware containers she finds as a result).

I always love the humor in Tara Sivec’s books. They are filled with over the top hijinx from family members and hilarity that often has me laughing out loud (and having to explain what’s so funny to my family). I always know these books are going to be an easy escape and change of pace and this book was no different.

If you only read one seasonal romance this fall you have got to try this one. No one writes a kooky small town like Tara Sivec does and Harvest Grove has the most bat shit crazy residents I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about. This town is basically founded on Halloween, it’s a month long celebration and I would give anything to actually participate in their shenanigans. Think over the top and unhinged fall activities and they’re doing them in this book but at a level you can’t even fathom. Besides the amazing setting you have a slow burn romance between best friends Ford and Sidney. These two gave us everything, they’re tender and sweet one minute and the next their passion has them cursing like sailors and ripping each others clothes off. It’s safe to say I adored them and really adored this book overall, I laughed my ass off and have a feeling it will become an October tradition for me to reread this just like I rewatch Scream every year.

This book is every reason I love romance novels. I had that giddy feeling while I read with a goofy smile on my face. Seeing how much Ford loved Sidney is everything I want (and will probably never find) in a guy...I honestly could not put this book down. I had absolutely no respect for the next day and I was up until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. Even when I got up the next day, I ignored everything until the book was complete.

As always, I'm left with the thought that Tara Sivec's mind must be a truly scary place. How anyone comes up with the things she does, she's either a genius or insane. She's pinky...she's pinky and the brain, brain, brain, brain, BRAIN! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.) She had a line in the book saying:

"Everyone walks away happy and satisfied, without having to worry someone will put five pounds of pumpkin guts in the wheel well of your car’s trunk while you’re asleep, and you won’t realize it until an unseasonably warm day a few months later, wondering why your entire car smells like a rotting corpse.”

And I just had to wonder...how in the world does she know that rotted pumpkin guys will smell like a rotting corpse!? Did she test that!? Google!?

I will say that for most of the book, I loathed Penny and Ginger. I wanted Ford to take Sidney away from Harvest Grove and away from her awful family. I did come to an understanding with them later in the book (much later) but for most of the book I wanted to lock them up and throw away the key for how they treated Sidney.

Anyway, I absolutely loved this book. I honestly can't recommend it enough. And I have no idea what I'm going to read next!

Read Through KU.

It doesn’t have to be Halloween to read this fun and quirky slow burnish romance. I say slow burn because Ford and Sidney are best friends who meet up each year for the month of October, and have been doing this for six years! They have their own reasons and tell each other eventually why they can’t have a relationship. The story is mainly set in the current year with some flashbacks of when they met and why Ford came to Sidney’s Halloween Town. It’s hard to know who is more crazy, her family or his, or even the whole town for that matter. It will keep you entertained, swoon and smirk along with not only Sidney and Ford but all the characters.

This is a romance with comedy that takes place in a town made famous because a horror movie was filmed there years ago, so tourists and fans flock there in October and the town really plays it up. I REALLY loved that part of the story. So fun!

However, once the sexy talk starts up between the MC and her love interest, I just felt like that's all there was. It was so cringey to me when what I really wanted was a Halloween-themed story. Especially when I was listening to it in my car.

I'm SO bummed this one didn't work for me. A town like this one sounds like so much fun!

I received a copy of this book for free, and I leave my review voluntarily.

Tara Sivec is a USA Today best-selling author, wife, mother, chauffeur, maid, short-order cook, babysitter, and sarcasm expert. She lives in Ohio with her husband and two children and looks forward to the day when all three of them become adults and move out. She writes in a wide range of genres, including Romantic Comedy, Romantic Comedy/Mystery, Romantic Suspense, New Adult Drama, Contemporary Romance, and Psychological Thriller. Her novel Seduction and Snacks won first place in the Indie Romance Convention Reader's Choice Awards 2013 for Best Indie First Book, and she was voted Best Indie Author in the Indie Romance Convention Reader's Choice Awards 2014. In her spare time, Tara loves to dream about all of the baking she'll do and naps she'll take when she ever gets spare time.

“I don’t just want a fling; I want everything.”

Harvest Grove is a special place that brings all things Halloween to life in a big way. When Sidney first encountered Ford, she never expected to feel anything for him. And when he rejected her flirtations, she accepted just being his friend for six long years. But with November first looking over her, Sidney is ready to take a stand.

This was such a cute story. I love Tara’s ability to twist sweet with steamy and create magic. This town was beautifully described, and I totally want to move there.

I loved the characters in this book. If there are three things you can absolutely expect in a Sivec book, it’s going to have epic one-liners, going to have spicy scenes, and the characters will steal your heart.

Sidney was such a great leading lady. Sassy, funny, and loving. Ford was the best leading man, his charm and wit balanced with Sidney so well. I loved the side characters so much, though I think if Tess ever met Penny and Ginger, there would be five-alarm trouble and tears (IYKYK).

I loved reading about Sidney and Ford and their lack of communication skills. I loved the friendships, the chaos, and even the hot dogs on sticks in the front yard.

This is the perfect spooky season book. There are beautiful doses of fall, embracing the beginning of the Halloween season, and of course, pumpkin-flavored things.

There is something magical about reading a themed romance book, especially when it features strong women, devoted men, and solid pop culture references.

Stop Ghosting Me was a fun, cute and festive read all set in a small town that is all about celebrating all things Halloween.

Sidney is an outrageous, anxious character yet is also very protective of her family that has had some things happen to them that has made them act the way they do. She's so protective of them that she ends up in jail almost every October. Why October? The sisters ramp up their tricks and treats all round town.

Ford is the owner of the local bar that only stops by once a year. In October. He was given the bar by his grandfather and really has no reason to return to this small weird town each year, but something pulls him back, his best friend Sidney whom he spends most of the month with, platonically. Only all Ford does is take care of Sidney and all the trouble she seems to get in.

While I liked the setting and the premise of the book, the miscommunication (or lack of communication totally) between Ford and Sidney got old pretty darn fast. I mean, the cute things that happened between them was fun and entertaining, but then again, if they would've both just talked t one another, SIX years of platonic relationship could've changed much quicker.

Overall, this is a fun one for the month of October and has plenty of hijinks included between Sidney's sisters and her and the town, but the lack of communication was troublesome. I felt the connection between Ford and Sidney, but wish we got more of them actually together. Glad they got their HEA and the big 'showdown' at the end as well as the fun events through the month, just wish we had more of Sidney and Ford together. 3.5 stars

I LOVE a good holiday romance and in case you didn't know Halloween is my FAVORITE ❤ This one is just in time for a cozy and spooky evening, passing out candy and warming up your heart (and your lady bits) with a fantastic, laugh-out-loud, friends to lovers story by the QUEEN of Rom-Com herself, Tara Sivec 👑 If you don't LOL reading this book something is seriously wrong with you and you should get that looked at by a professional, because the pranks are EPIC and belly achingly HILARIOUS! I fell in love with the heroine in the first few pages. The quirky town and the supporting cast are charming, unexpected, hysterical in their own right, and add so much to this story you'll want them all to be your own family and besties. And the broody hero, SIGH... is just perfectly frustrating, possessive and clueless enough to keep things interesting. All that being said, this ain't your average sticky sweet Hallmark/Lifetime tale. If you like a good Rom-Com, trust me and pick up this book ASAP and have a Happy Halloween 🎃

Okay, I have always been a big fan of the Scream movies. I mean I named the first dog I bought for myself as a grownup after the main character, although I spelled it Sydney instead of Sidney. So I loved all the plays on that series with this book. Like the main character’s name being Sidney, and her love interest’s last name was Prescott, so if she married him, she’d be Sidney Prescott, the main character from Scream. Even funnier is that because this Sidney is such a horror movie and all things to do with the Halloween holiday fan, as is the town she lives in, she also gets the humor in this!

As usual we have the hilarious snarky banter and behavior of all the characters. We have the usual colorful variety of characters in the town and families. And something Tara Sivec does in her books that I love, is making even the people you just know you are going to hate into crazy characters that you kind of like a teeny bit, or at least enjoy their parts in the story. I won’t mention exactly who it is, but there is one family member at the end that cracks me up every time I think of something they said or did, and I was sure I would hate them. Oh, and one of the lines that cracked me up too much was: Itchy-bod Crane. And I loved when she was arguing with the little kids.

Sidney’s pledge to never actually have a real relationship made sense with what her family had been through with her father and uncle. But I loved that she still had some good memories of her father, that he was at least a good dad, even if not a faithful husband. And her family’s way to handle the anniversary of their deaths as well as her sister and cousin’s service of investigating and getting revenge on other unfaithful people was hilarious, and something that could probably only come from the mind of Tara Sivec. So thank god for Tara Sivec writing and sharing her crazy ideas with us!

It also makes sense why Ford felt the way he did, with his family and what had happened to him. I was anxiously awaiting his side of the story, so once we got it, I was pleased to find out how he felt about her and that this was going to be the year. He was all alpha, wanting to take care of her, and the letter he got from his brother at the end, and how it made things so much more like the completed puzzle he made by staying finally, yeah, this sentence rambles on, I just don’t know what to say except how much I loved that little extra bit!

There was the added part of the setting in that there was a cult like horror/slasher film that was celebrated the whole month of October in this small town, and while it definitely contributed to so much of the story, it wasn’t the main theme, and I liked how it was done. I also want to try so many of the baked goods mentioned in this, that the single women, and some men, of the town would deliver to Ford when he visited in October. And Sidney’s behavior with all of those Tupperware containers cracked me up. As an October baby, I love Halloween and the whole month, and this story was a perfect read for me this month!

Standalone Holiday RomCom

Dreamy sigh…once again, Tara Sivec penned another hysterical holiday romance that made me laugh, swoon, and totally get into the Halloween spirit. It’s no secret that Tara Sivec is my hands-down favorite rom-com author, and it was a load of fun to visit an all-new town in Stop Ghosting Me , a supposed standalone (I hope not! There are so many other stories to tell!).
“I didn’t wreak any havoc, I was running away from the havoc that was already wreaked.”

Sidney Tanner is always in trouble, but usually it’s because she is covering for her sister and cousin. The town of Harvest Grove turns into Halloweentown for the month of October every year because an old horror movie with a cult following was filmed there, and the entire town capitalizes on the tourists who come one month out of the year. The Tanner family also steps up their crazy man-hating shenanigans.

Ford Prescott has come to Harvest Grove every October for 6 years and stays the entire month. He inherited a bar in the town so he uses it as an excuse to keep coming back and visiting his best "friend" Sidney.
"She thinks this bar is the only reason I came back to Harvest Grove after that first year and repeated the process for the next five. She has no idea it’s all because of the girl with the Halloween headband, whose face shined like the sun when she talked about pumpkin lights."

This year is different. He came to claim Sidney, but after being “only friends” for six years, it may be more difficult than he thinks. Sigh….I loved Ford! His need to take care of Sidney was so charming.
"But now it’s eating away at me that she had a problem I didn’t fix. She wanted something that I never gave her. It’s my job to make sure she’s happy and taken care of, and I failed."

I’m not going to bother with Likes and Dislikes. I loved it all. The side characters were fabulous and I want all of their stories!
“We’re not fucked up; we’re unhinged. Get it right,” Penny mutters.

Speaking of unhinged, I really wish we could see Tess and Bodhi from Summersweet Island pop by for next Halloween. I think she may be a distant relative of the Tanners.

The Down & Dirty:
Stop Ghosting Me is another hysterical fall romance from my favorite romcom author, Tara Sivec. Harvest Grove is the perfect Halloween small town, and the friends-to-lovers slow-burn storyline made me laugh, swoon, and giggle some more. I loved every second of Stop Ghosting Me, it’s like Tara knows me and loves me and writes exactly what I love.

Rating: 5 Stars, 4 Heat

It was reaaaaalllly hard to get past how weirdly obsessed everyone was with Halloween. Like, an unhealthy amount. The heroine’s house has permanent Halloween decor INSIDE, she wears Halloween themed clothing, all the businesses are themed, etc etc. It was too much and I wondered if anyone was sane.

I thought all the characters, with the exception of the hero, were caricatures and obnoxiously immature. I thought their communication with each other was bad. I think everything that was supposed to come across as funny made me roll my eyes, and there wasn’t any real romance. Honestly, this just wasn’t really good at all. Such a shame since this author has been decent before.

Take me to Harvest Grove or lose me forever.

I can’t even. Tara Sivec is my absolute favorite. Each time I read one of her books I swear it’s my favorite, but this time I mean it. This book was so full of surprises. We got a family full of scorned and unhinged (get it right) women, a hot once a year “friend” a town full of fun characters and a scream reference? C’mon, what more do you want? Just read it. It’s perfection.

4.5 stars rounded up, as I haven’t given 5 stars in a while 🫣🫣🫣

I had no doubt that I would enjoy myself with this book. It looks like whenever I do read anything by Tara Sivec, I am loving every single word every time.

I loved the plot, the nutty characters and this beautiful town and community she has created. Yes, it’s not a time to read Halloween books but people should know about this beauty and the author should become viral. Why do people sleep on such good books?
