The true power has revealed itself, but how can a dragon mind stop an ancient dragon?
Having defeated the Netheral, a portion of an ancient dragon, success is short lived. This power has decided to move. It failed to destroy Rob’s home, but now it’s heading toward Serena’s lands—and to the dragon queen.
The journey for answers leads to only to more questions. They know they need the dragon souls to protect them from this threat, but the dragon souls have gone silent.
And if the dragon souls can’t protect them from the netheral, maybe nothing can.
Rob continues to progress becoming a Dragon Soul as he fights against the spread. Rob has a new sense of the importance of the Sprite in his life. The adventure keeps going beyond what I expect making this a thrilling series!
I am usually reasonably tolerant of the occasional typo but in this book they came so thick and fast they ruined my enjoyment of the story. Initially they were a distraction but some were so bad that I could not work out the meaning of the sentence. Towards the end I was so annoyed that I nearly set the book aside. The errors are so bad that I am sure that there has been no proof reading. Indeed it is as if the book was produced using voice to text without any checking. I now do not wish to read the rest of the series or any more DK Holmberg books. I am sure that there are many fans who would gladly proof read for free and greatly improve the quality.
Would have given it a 5-star rating, but there are many grammatical and sentence structure issues that could/should have been dealt with. Love the story, but frustrated with trying to figure out what the author meant to say when I get to one of those hiccups.
Wow maybe you might want a proof reader, someone to check for grammer and just plain stupid stuff.. Really call call a threatening corruption the spread.. Really anything would sound less stupid even spree or just call it the corruption. Some of the names are like why and the random word here and there that makes no sense word wise.. It gets boring so much
I’m loving the story and the adventure, but the writing should really have been proofed and edited better. It’s not enough to make me put it down, but it’s getting worse as I reach later books in the series. Generally it’s easy enough to skip over without any misunderstanding, but sometimes it really throws off the joy of the ride in key moments. I’m still enjoying this series, but I’m really hoping this fades.
Congratulations to D.K. Holmberg and Dan Michaelson for this amazing series. Ibt’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book!
If you can tolerate the writing skill, the story is interesting. Sometimes I wonder if the author is 13. The grammar is lousy, the sentence structure suspect, and too many typo’s to count. Still, I’ve read the all of them so far and will finish the series. 4-stars is 2-stars for writing and 6-stars for the story.
The story is consuming, but there are many missing words and grammar problems. Not too many, but enough to be distracting. Still recommend the series, just wish they had done more on editing.
Good internal dialogue giving a sense of development in the magical elements,a little weaker on the portrayal of the characters, still glossed if at times a little formulaically.
Intriguing world in which the characters live. The lead is interesting and I love that he grew up without a clue of what it was like beyond his own borders. I like looking at the world through wonder our eyes! Really a good read.
However, there were lots of mistakes and a lot of repeated sentiments, one after another. It made reading this hard. I hope the next book is done better.
Rob, Serena and Griffin are still in Rob’s home valley waiting to see if things will settle down before they leave on the journey to see the Dragon Queen. When they arrive at the Dragon Queen’s palace things are worse than they thought.
The balance between action and conversation is off. There’s lots of talking and debating about what to do and why until we get to the end. It feels like a filler book with no real series plot progression.
Fave scenes: Rob finding out his mother’s story, helping Garthena at the pond, lessons with Ashmond and flying the Tereagal.
