I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Tiny Buddha's Inner Strength Journal is a beautiful and reflective self-help Journal to help the user discover what they need to harness their inner strength through many different activities, prompts and practices. This book helps support and enrich mental, emotional, spiritual and physical skills and wellbeing and I love the idea of this Journal being used as permanence- being able to look back and see your growth and changes/transformation going forward.
The start of the book has an introduction which just spoke to me, from the author about why they created it and what they hope you will achieve from it.
I now want a physical copy so I can work through it as I received the pdf version.

My thanks to both Goodreads and the publisher Kensington Books- Citadel Press for an advanced copy of this journal of self- discovery.

Hanging out with my nephews I have learned the importance of questions. The youngest one is always saying "I have, I have a question", a constant refrain, but one that is very important to him. He asks about birds, the sky, cars, books, and a lot of the times about why he is feeling the way he does, and do people feel the same, strangers, strange uncles, and others. This is how he makes sense of the world, one that at eight, and not to brag cause I am that kind of uncle, a super smart eight, the world and its inhabitants are very confusing to him a lot of the time. This is his zen, the way actions, and the feelings he is having can be identified, addressed and handled. Hence the importance of this book. Lori Deschene, founder of Tiny Buddha, an online community, has in her book Tiny Buddha's Inner Strength Journal created a book that makes the reader ask questions of themselves in order to make sense of both their inner and outer world. Something that we need in this brave new world, that is both wondrous and scary, just as it is for an eight year old.

The book begins with an explanation of why Tiny Buddha was created, the ideas behind it, and the author's own struggles with, well life. The book is explained, what the author hopes will help readers indentify and find acceptance, and give that peace out to the world. This involves questions for example what pressures do you feel in life. Or questions about what is currently bothering you, and what can be done to fix them. There are drawing prompts, which can be daunting to the non- artistic, but once the reader/ sketcher realizes this is helpful and calming the inner Jack Kirby, Thomas Kinkade, even Jackson Pollock comes out. Some questions resonate more than others, but all have a way of leading reader down a path, where suddenly everything becomes clearer and quieter in the brain, and maybe a bit of serenity can be found.

I like the idea of the permanence of the journal, this way a writer can look back at their answers and see that strides have been made, and that things might be getting a little better mentally, which is always a good thing. Proof is hard to argue with, no matter how strong the will not to change is. A very helpful book for people who feel lost, a book to make our inner eight- year- old feel better about the future.

I am not a follower of the Tiny Buddha online community. I didn’t know it even existed until I read the description for this journal while surfing publishers’ recent offerings on NetGalley. Therefore, I will admit that the promise offered by the publisher’s blurb lured me into reading this slim 240-page volume.

In her introduction, the author stated that the primary purpose of the book was to offer ideas, habits, and exercises that helped her get stronger and believe in herself even when she felt lost and weak. Her hope is that, by working through the exercises in this book, helps the reader build upon and foster the inner strength that the reader has already fostered within. It is supposed to represent a journey to inner strength across four distinct aspects - mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Each of the four main sections is subdivided into seven shorter sections, which include writing prompts, doodle prompts, and challenges.

The mental strength section hit home harder that I thought, because that focused on mental resilience with exercises about eliminating negative thoughts. The emotional strength section was about changing how we react to our emotions in order to turn our emotions into a source of strength. The physical strength section was about physical habits and choices that help us feel our strongest. The spiritual strength section discussed deepening the connection with the higher self and the sacred. Each subsection within the four began with a related quote and an intricate line drawing that can be colored in with pencils or markers.

Overall, I would definitely add this to my collection to give myself something to work through in weak moments. I would have to give some further consideration based on the quality of the finished physical version as to whether or not I acquire multiple copies to gift to close friends at winter holidays.

I received this book as a digital advance reader copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. The Kindle version of the ARC was simply words without any artwork; however, the NetGalley Shelf version was fully formatted with both illustrations and typesetting.

First of all, my thanks to the publisher Kensington for providing me with this review copy along with a beautiful set of colored pens to go with it. And no, they did not influence my review. I loved this book and had I not received it as hard copy, I would have purchased it. I will be buying some copies for friends.

The author opens the book with an explanation that the book is to help you by offering ideas, exercises, and creating habits that helped her, and might help you. There four main sections—mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual—that are then broken down into seven shorter sections. The exercises include writing prompts, drawing/coloring, and more. There are also quotes to help you, like “I have come to believe that caring for myself is not self-indulgent. Caring for myself is an act of survival.” – Audre Lorde

The book is challenging, uplifting, and intriguing. It makes you think. It makes you reflect on… everything.

Recommendation: Highly recommended.

This welcoming book has an accessible format and thought-provoking prompts with a good deal of wisdom and inspiration sprinkled throughout to encourage inner reflection.

The journal is divided into four main sections focusing on building your inner strength mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually with relevant quotes, writing prompts, and drawing exercises. The writing prompts encompass consideration of the past, present, and future to encourage a better understanding of your motivations and actions. Some prompts include relevant activities to carry out during your day and later reflect on in writing. There are lovely black and white line drawings throughout that beg to be colored in as you consider the writing exercises and drawing prompts that encourage visualization. Overall, a nice variety of approaches to inner reflection and paths to effecting change in yourself.

If you've been thinking about journaling but have a hard time deciding what to write about, this book may be just what you are looking for. With the quotes and explanations at the beginning of each section, you are sure to find value in journaling with Tiny Buddha's offering. My only wish is that it had more room to write!

#TinyBuddhasInnerStrengthJournal #NetGalley

I was not familiar with Tiny Buddha before requesting this ARC. (Those interested can find out more online.) Nonetheless, I learned a lot from exploring this title. It is one that will reward the reader for the time they put into thinking about the many prompts and more that are included in these pages.

The author shares that she has had her own serious struggles as, for example, with bulimia and depression, and has tried to grow through them. This growth is what she hopes for her readers as she asks them to think about their lives. This title is divided into sections on the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual dimensions of life. In each of these parts of the book, there are writing prompts, a doodle and a challenge.

It is suggested that one could begin this book in any section. However, it is better to complete one section before moving to another is the advice given.

For those who want to know and understand themselves and have the discipline to set aside thinking and being time, this book will will be a most helpful resource.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for this title. All opinions are my own.

If you're a fan of Tiny Buddha, this journal will be a lovely addition to your collection. This journal explores how to build your inner strength through different methods, here's an example of one set of subsections:

- Assessing your strengths and weaknesses
- Developing a growth mindset
- Changing your interpretations
- Keeping things in perspective
- Changing your perception of change
- Releasing disempowering beliefs
- Focusing on solutions

Each of them gets their own section. Each section starts with a resonant quote and a drawing that could be colored and then continues with thoughtful prompts and exercises. There are also many other sections including compassion, empathy, fostering optimism, etc.

I really loved the variety of prompts and the insights they bring forth. A wonderful way to encourage both inner strength and self awareness.

with gratitude to edelweiss and NetGalley and Kensington Books for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review

This little book was surprising for me but totally what I needed at this moment.

For me this one it's more like a journey than a book and in this trying times, I think it's exactly what we need to center ourselves and build inner strength in ourselves and project it to the world.

It has lots of prompt that you can use daily, weekly or whenever you are in need of inner consciousness and learn more about how we have changed in time.

I will recommend it to anyone really, if you're feeling a little lost or just need a little reassurance that you are stronger than you think, this has a little of everything for a lot of situations and times.

This book is full of useful sections about inner strength, emotional well-being, self-criticism, self-belief and dealing with your past. It also covers spiritual well-being. Deschene includes writing prompts, doodles and challenges to help you reflect on where you need help, and try to improve. It's a lot of work, and probably worth it, but it would take time to keep the journal.

This kind of book is probably easier to read as an ebook, so it's better to buy the paperback.

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

***I received a copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review

This is an excellent interactive journal, that touches on your emotional, physical and spiritual health, to make you the best version of yourself possible. There are even designs for you to color if you are into coloring. This book dives below the surface and does a deep dive into the "why" and "when" and "how" that made you who you are, and are the reasons for the things you most want to change about yourself. I highly recommend this!

I absolutely love The Tiny Buddha and follow them on Instagram and their daily calendar, so I was so excited to see and be approved to review this book! This book did not disappoint! Beautiful and meaningful quotes were chosen for each section, along with fun and pretty graphics (that one could colour if so inclined ). The journal prompts were reflective and appropriate for the sections and plenty of room was provided for journaling. Some topic areas included were faith & spirituality, self compassion, self care, positive mental health and coping, forgiveness, love etc. This book was well thought out in regards to flow and would be something I would purchase for myself or as a special gift for a friend or family member. Well done!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC copy of this beautiful journal book in exchange for my honest review and opinion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
