I always knew marriage for me would never be to a man of my choosing. As a young girl, I was all too aware of the power I wielded in a world where men were supposed to be the superior gender.
To the underworld, I was just a mafia princess. To my family, I was an equal. To my soon-to-be husband? Well, that was yet to be determined. But I pray Enzo Bianchi was ready for me because I was damn sure prepared for him.
Enzo Bianchi
The life I’d seen for myself was no longer an option. My entire world had been turned upside down by the very people who were supposed to be family—my Famiglia.
Us Bianchi men were starting anew—forging alliances with criminal organizations who understood our plight. The plan had been simple. Cut and dry.
That was until Lucia Moretti showed up with a plan of her own—one I couldn’t say no to. Now everything was at stake, including my heart.
Note:Sinful Vow is book one in the mafia misfits series and can be read as a standalone. This story includes depictions of violence; may be sensitive for some readers.
3.25⭐️ I was a tad confused at moment, but I’m always confused so that’s probably my fault. FMC WAS A BAD ASS. Overall lots of fun and great for a mafia book!
I loved this book! A Black mafia series with a twist in family dynamics.
I love that Lucia wasn’t the typical mafia princess, but instead she was this bad ass, dgaf what anyone has to say, I’ll drop you within a blink of an eye, woman. That just made her character better imo. She’s a strong woman who can handle herself and only submits to her arranged marriage husband in the bedroom and when doing business.
Enzo definitely gives off BDE! That man is something else. The two complimented each other’s personalities very well and their relationship felt genuine.
This was really good. Badass FMC and a MMC that is obsessed with her. I really loved their dynamic but I wish we got to see more of their relationship developing. It was pretty insta-love then we don’t get to see much of them falling in love. The plot was really interesting though and I liked the twist on the typical arranged marriage trope.
I really enjoyed up to 50%, but then I felt there was just so much description but not enough of what was suppose to happen.
I personally thought the story wasn’t flowing, all of a sudden this happened, then this character showed up and I was just a little confused. Maybe I just got lost in the summary of things…
I was a little disappointed with Lucia, only because within the first couple of chapters she was described as this badass assassin. I was super excited to see her growth throughout the story, but it didn’t really go anywhere?
A Black-Italian mafia family series. I can see I’ll be lost in these books for a bit. It’s what I’ve been looking for since I read the Godfather years ago.
This was kind of disappointing in some ways. I like the two main characters Enzo and Lucia quite a bit, but the story around them left a lot to be desired. I felt like there were a lot of storylines and none of them felt complete or satisfying to me. Also, I got the impression Enzo and Lucia (especially Lucia) were badass, but we never really see it.
i’ve read this book twice this year and i can say it’s aging like fine wine. as someone who is in love with mafia movies like casino and goodfellas, this fulfilled that deep yearning i’ve had for a black mafia series.
i feel like when people hear mafia they think violence and gore. while that is certainly an aspect i love that asia monique approached it in a softer manner.
lucia + enzo chemistry was off the charts. from their first encounter i knew they were going to be special. their love story was perfectly laid out right down to the plot twist that had me screaming at my book.
i love that lucia wasn’t your typical mafia princess that sat in a tower looking pretty. she got her hands dirty and proved time after time she could handle the big boys without breaking a nail.
i can’t wait to see how the rest of the series plays out because i’m officially hooked.
I really enjoyed Sinful Vow so very much. If you're looking for a mafia romance, this is the book for you.
A mafia princess (who is also a trained assassin) gets an arranged marriage with a made man who is going to become the king of his family. This book is so fun and entertaining with all these different characters and personalities. Lucia and Enzo are HOT HOT together. A power couple that is ready to take over the world and I fully believe their new family is going to be so very powerful.
One thing I love reading in romances is different families and people joining together in a whole book series and them falling in love and getting their own little families. The prologue in this book introduces the 5 mafia families that are in this sort of alliance. Each of them is different and it was so intriguing to get to know them just a little bit in that prologue. In this book, you get the Morettis and the Bianchis, but I'm sure we're going to see the other families in the next books in the series.
I'm definitely going to try to read the other ones soon. You know that I have so much to read but I do really want to get to them!!! They all sound veryyyy good. The way I took like a month to read this I BLAME MY BOOK SLUMP!!!!! Don't look at my "dates read" section pls.
dnf’d @ 24% like so much was said yet nothing was happening? Also I didn’t feel any chemistry between the leads I’m so sorry I wanted to like this so badly.
Lucia and Enzo said. F what y’all thought we run this! So many moving parts I will have to go back and reread to be prepared for the books to follow! This arranged marriage made sense and honestly what was best for everyone involved! I loved how Enzo let Alicia be the bad ass she was but also knew that he was her protector at the end of the day! Like ugh I loved them! Enzo stepping into his role after all the twists and turns was good to see too and him kind of getting his temper in check! I’m ready for the next book to get the story on who is next because it’s so many people in this family and so much at stake for everyone!
4 star read. 3 star writing. It took me a minute to rate this because I have really mixed emotions. I loved the storyline but there are parts that seem missing or not fleshed out enough. I like the characters but I don’t feel like I really know them. I enjoyed it but wished it was done differently. I was kind of expecting it to be darker but I enjoyed the sweetness. I loved it but I didn’t like it. And that probably makes no sense but it’s how I feel.
I love mafia books but I’ve never read a BLACK mafia book. I love the conversation of how black people in that world still weren’t accepted due to “tradition”. This one was perfect I was not expecting the wedding twist. It’s just something about the way a mafia man carries himself and Enzo delivered. The chemistry between Lucia and Enzo was just everything they did not play about each other. I am ready for the next book in the series because somethings were left unanswered
This was a cute black mafia romance. Crazy how we're gonna pretend there's an actual plot line 😂. If you're looking for a dark romance, skip this one love.
I pushed my way through this book. It was strange because there were moments when I felt engaged in the storyline but then it would just fall flat again and again. Further, the writing was a problem. I felt confused by the characters (too many to keep up with and little context from the author when a new character was brought in) and the series of events. The writing felt like stream of consciousness - like the author knew what she was thinking but didn’t properly convey in a way that was easily understood to the audience.

I hadn’t been in my mafia bag in a minute, so I figured why not dive into Asia Monique’s series…a series that I had heard only good things about.
First of all, black mafia - yes. Black ITALIAN mafia - yes, yes. Fine men who speak Italian and very much give “I’m about that life” energy - new kink unlocked!
ENZO. BIANCHI. >>>> Ms. Monique put her foot, limbs, and neck into Mr. Enzo Bianchi. But let me get to the real kicker.
Ms. LUCIA…y’all. The FMC of my dreams. Fine, brilliant, impeccable style, AND SHE KNOWS HER WAY AROUND WEAPONS AND SAVES THE WORLD REGULARLY…yes, please!
Overall, as a couple, Enzo and Lucia and their chemistry carried the book (for me). Actually, the chemistry (and intensity, where applicable) between all the characters was both palpable and effective and certainly a major stronghold in the book.
Overall, the rest didn’t feel very cohesive to me. There was so much description, y’all; I felt lost a lot while reading. The world-building, in general, fell flat because of this.
Even the character-building of Enzo and Lucia as individuals was unclear to me. Once I finished the book, I still felt like I didn’t know who they were as individuals. Yes, we got their families' histories and individual goals and motivations, but I didn’t get much more than that.
Please note: I don’t even believe this can be or should be attributed to the writing ability of Ms. Asia Monique. Because she clearly can wield a pen. I think it’s more so that…at least in my opinion, from the beginning, there was this allure of mystery over both Lucia and Enzo. Considering the subject matter of this book, you’re probably like, “Duh, girl, allure is important,” which you’re right; it is. We obviously don’t want NO allure, we want there to be build-up and all of the things, but the problem was that the allure carried on through the entire book.
I would have liked a little bit more character transparency further along in the book. Also, other than the arranged marriage aspect, I don’t know what the plot was or the main plot rather. There felt like several different storylines, and none were coming off as the primary one. And then there felt like no climax to the story, and therefore no resolution to the lacking climax, so as I was getting closer to the end, I was like, “IS something else gonna happen, or is that it? Did I miss something?”
But with all that said, I still enjoyed this book, AND I loved how even though the mafia genre is all about violence, there was less of that here, and the book still gave what needed to be given from the mafia perspective. And I think that is wholly due to the fact that the characters and their personalities and actions spoke for themselves.
I definitely plan on reading the rest of the Mafia Misfits series. On to Sinful Redemption…
Enzo & Lucia were 2 different people who shared a lot of similarities and eventually became one when they married. I can say this is a very different story to read from Asia & it’s rare that a story from her doesn’t draw me in almost immediately. This story didn’t drawn me in! The only thing I can say is that Lucia was a girl after my own heart 😍when it came to firearms 🤩😂. This book was all over the place & confusing during certain parts especially if you zoned out for a second. I’ll take a break and then eventually get to the others.!
Very interesting premise. There was one thing that didn’t make any sense to me that got explained at the end. I was surprised by the wedding twist. I loved their chemistry and relationship. CW for sex trafficking, allowing her to beat him up. There were some errors, just fyi if that’s going to really bother you.
This started out so good… but I just got lost on the way. I had no Idea what was going on half the time and I feel like there were random new people popping up out of nowhere…
Honestly, you had me at arranged marriage. Add the fact that Enzo and Lucia are equals and you just leveled up. I find that aspect to be the part that I enjoyed most about this mafia love story. Asia did an amazing job webbing us into Enzo and Luci's story from both a professional and romance side and I found myself unable to put the story down.. wanting to know what's happening in all sides of the game. The banter, the tension, the plot.. it was perfect I'm excited that I finally dove into this series and can't wait to see what happens next
I loved this book. I loved Lucia, such a strong character, she didn't let any man stand in her way, she was her own person and no one could take that away from her. Enzo was all alpha male and I was here for it. He also showed her that life doesn't have to be lonely, you can love and share it with someone, it's totally fine. I loved them as a couple, they listened to each other and treated each other like equals, and in the mafia world that's rare
Dnf I think that was one of the most painfullest boring mafia book I have ever read. This is a strong dnf because I really did like the fmc the plot? Wasn't there. The fact that it also wasn't even as entertaining kinda upsets me because I always look forward to any mafia books.
I struggled with this one a little bit. I felt like we were being spoon feed information so slowly, so I got a little frustrated. HOWEVER!! there was seome seriously good, "Touch her and you die!" vibes. Like you will die immediately!! Or, he looks in her direction and if she gives the nod, then you are dead. Imediately! So I did love that. I'll probably continue the series. Happy reading!
Enjoyable! Loved the inclusivity and the uniqueness of the set up. I couldn’t keep up with the plot though. Wished there was more steam cause it would have been great! 3.75/5⭐️ 3/5🔥
*3.75stars* I just love how Asia said- lets do the Italian mafia but make it 🌟black🌟. I had such a fun time with this one, and it has a marriage of convenience, so you know it took little to sell me on it
