The third novel in the Ice Planet Barbarians series, an international publishing phenomenon—now in a special print edition with bonus materials and an exclusive epilogue!

Kira plans on remaining single on this alien planet—she doesn’t want a mate anyway. At least, that’s what she tells herself. But when Aehako comes along, everything changes. . . .

As one of the humans stranded on the ice planet, I should be happy that I have a new home. Human women are treasured here, and one alien in particular has made it clear that he’s interested in me. It’s hard to push away the sexy, flirtatious Aehako when I long to grab him by his horns and insist he take me to his furs.

But I’ve got a terrible secret—a few of them, actually. I’m convinced that Aehako can never love me if he knows the full truth. More worryingly, the aliens who abducted me are back, and thanks to the translator in my ear, they can find me. My presence here endangers everyone . . . but can I give up my new life and the man I desire more than anything? And will he even want me if he knows my secrets?

THIS ONE WAS SO MUCH BETTER!! oh, the wonders that can happen when some actual plot is added?? love to see it. i also ended up really liking love interest in this one, which is a new feeling lol.
soft alien mates >>>>>>

all of that sounds so good, right? then why only two stars? one of the things that set this book apart from the others is that the main character, kira, is infertile. because all the aliens are mating with the humans in each book, kira is concerned that she won’t be wanted/loved because she can’t have children. the story had the opportunity to go in a really good direction (there’s even a nice scene where aehako tells kira that he wants to be with her no matter what!!) but the ultimate conclusion of that part is kira being magically “healed” so that she can have kids with her hot alien. she’s overjoyed to not be “damaged” anymore, so she can have a fulfilling life....which, the underlying message of all that left a bad taste in my mouth and i really wish that ruby dixon hadn’t tried to fix what wasn’t actually broken.

3 Stars - Full "Review" (I use that term loosely...) Now Posted

This is actually my least favorite so far, although I still enjoyed it.

Kira was such a killjoy.

Like Eeyore.

description

In fact, Liz even called her an Eeyore, if I remember correctly.

She for sure did in book 4.

Here's Liz being the annoying as fuck Tigger to Kira's Eeyore:

description

Word can't describe how much I want to punch that C-U-NexT Week in the face.

description

Except I DON'T feel awkward.
And I KNOW I did.

But I digress.

Because of Kira being such a Debbie Fucking Downer, it was hard to get behind her story.

In fact, when the sexy times finally happened, I mostly skimmed through them *gasp* that's how disinterested I was in her love story.

Regardless, I am totes loving this series.

Although not gonna lie

I AM having a hard time trying to visualize these blue-horned monsters as sexy.

Cause all am a getting is a cross between this:

This:

And some variation of this:

With a horn-topped dick and a some ridged plate thing-ys.

But aside from that?

4.5 Aehako Kira Stars

May have Mild Spoilers

Book 3 was Kira the sad human with the translator in her ear, and happy go lucky Aehako. I know a lot of people didn't care for Kira, and thought she was too sad and depressed, but I totally understood why she was so down. Kira had a ton of problems. Things looked bleak for her. She had a translator painfully jammed in her ear. It made everything loud super loud so she couldn't sleep. She heard every rape, cry, and evil plan from the bad aliens. After she landed on not-hoth she heard everyone and everything that happened in the caves. From sex to rude comments she heard it all loud and clear. She had feelings for Aehako, but because of a health issues knew she was unable to get pregnant and would never resonate to Aehako. Top that off with the fact that she could hear the bad aliens saying they were coming back for the humans. Being scared that they could track her through the translator in her ear. Fear of being recaptured. Fear of dooming all the others to the same fate. Yeah I would be depressed as hell too.

Aehako was everything Kira wasn't. He balanced out her sadness. Aehako was a laid back, fun, enjoy every moment kind of guy. He knew bad things can and do happen, but he wanted to live life to it's fullest. Kira was somber. She had a lot of bad things to deal with. Kira was shy, depressed, and scared. however she was also brave, sweet, and truly cared for the others. I liked but Kira and Aehako. I think they complimented each other well. They were a cute couple and they had a great foundation of friendship that deepened their love.

I love that Ruby Dixon gives each character unique personalities. It makes them all more realistic and relatable. The plot of this one was a bit more heavy, with the bad aliens and all, but I think it was handled well. I loved that Aehako's family was so supportive of his and Kira's relationship. Harlow was an interesting woman. She has some secrets of her own, and I wonder what they are. There was some action towards the end. Some things happened that had me freaking out. Even though things ended in a HEA for Aehako and Kira, Harlow got a cliffhanger. I need to know what is going to happen so...... Off to book 4!!!!!!

5 ⭐ Did I really just give an alien erotica story 5-stars? Yes. Yes I did. 🙈

Summary:

Kira is one of twelve human women abducted and stranded on an ice planet. But, it's not so bad. The native alien men may be tall, blue, and horned but they treasure women; and one alien, in particular, has made it clear he wants Kira. Aehako is sexy, flirtatious, and kind - exactly how she wants to take to the furs. However, this can't happen.

Kira is keeping secrets, which causes her to live in a state of constant fear. The first is that she cannot have children, so her khui will never resonate. The human women are new to this world and Kira is afraid that without the ability to bear children, the tribe might abandon her. The second, and most dangerous secret of all, is that the aliens who abducted the human women are back, and thanks to the translator in Kira's ear, they can track her. Kira fears her presence endangers everyone and must decide if she should leave to save everyone.

My Thoughts:

Kira and Aehako are officially my favorite IPB couple. ♥️ Their story is charming, heart-warming, sweet, and funny! It's just everything!!!

I freaking LOVE Aehako. He's just a sweet himbo and absolutely loves Kira for who she is, even before resonance. And the courting present he gives Kira had me ROLLING!!!! I freaking couldn't handle it! 😂

I love Kira's story/journey. She goes from being timid and afraid to a total badass who opens her heart to love in the face of uncertainty. Go, baby girl!!!

Overall, Barbarian Lover is a fantastic sci-fi AND romance story. I definitely recommend reading this one out of all the others in the IBP series!!!!

Living in fear of what might happen prevents us from enjoying what we have today.

Aehako is sexy, sweet, nice, very good with his hands, open-minded and definitely interested in Kira. This was obvious in Barbarian Alien. Now it is the time to stake his claim. It doesn’t matter that his khui does not sing for her. Aehako is determined to make Kira his mate.

“I do not need a khui to tell me who is the mate for me. You are mine and I will take every moment as a gift.”

Kira is miserable. She is 22 years old, still virgin, unable to have children ever and constantly rejected by her old boyfriends. Moreover she is stuck with a painful translator inside her ear which the little green men have put inside her to communicate. Kira has helped a lot the girls to survive, but now the equipment is redundant and it may attract the little green men back. She knows why her khui does not sing and although she craves attention, she avoids Aehako for his own good.

“I don’t want you to feel trapped with me.”

The book is not as funny as the first two books, but very emotional and sweet. There is this joke that started from the previous book about the courting gift that Liz suggested, so that Aehako can officially court Kira. But after a while it does matter because the gift becomes really very useful.

Aehako is mainly pushing Kira to open up, he does not get angry when she keeps things from him and he makes her feel good about herself. He will be the perfect boyfriend for the Sad Eyes human.
Kira is mainly pushing Aehako away. She is scared, with low self esteem and constantly sad and jealous of the rest of the girls. Aehako needs to try very hard, but a little jealousy created by his ex-girlfriend, Asha, will help Kira and Aehako come together.

“If you’re sure….”she says softly.
“I was sure the moment I saw your face.”
She pulls back, surprised. “You were?”
I nod. “I saw you and thought, if ever there was a female that needed a male to make her smile, it was you. And that we would be perfect together.”

Updated to 4 stars: This book is forever iconic for the hand carved dildo as mating gift 💀💀It is also a nice cap off to the original trilogy and sets up such delicious conflict for the next one. Aehako is also one of my favorite heroes in the series. A IPB classic all around!

3.5 stars -- Aehako was the stand out in this one... loved seeing a cinnamon roll barbarian alien. And his courting gift definitely made me laugh. This is such a campy, fun series with a sweetness at the core of it

Right! So don't read this when you're tired and emotional.

description

Barbarian Lover tells the story of Kira and Aehako. He is the funny one in the group, while she is the anxious and depressed one. Thanks to the translation device in her ear, Kira finds out that the aliens who abducted her and the other girls from Earth are coming back for them. She is sure that the stupid device is also a tracker, so she needs to get it out fast.
Aehako wants the human and has made it clear (if you read the previous book, you know what gift Liz adviced him to give to Kira). But she rejects him as she cannot have children. And that's how I finally figured out that the resonance actually means ovulation. Well, Kira did, but she lets us know, too.

You need to understand this is really going to be fantasy. The part where they encounter the evil aliens is extremely unrealistic. It's impossible, but you kind of get over it because the story is so entertaining.

And I hated the whore Asha. I know she gets a book eventually, but she acts despicable. I would have clawed her eyes out, cut her tail or something. This is a trope I could go without, the promiscuous woman who shamelessly hits on the main male character.

I noticed something else in Ruby Dixon's series, so far. In all the books, she doesn't shy away from mentioning the characters' bodily functions. These girls actually pee and poop. As weird as that sounds, I like that. I always wonder when reading books about people stranded or on an adventure, what do they do when they need to go? There's usually a girl and a guy, and it's all so magical and romantic. Don't they shit? Do they have toilet paper with them? Don't they get to stink after a long journey? etc.

So, yes, I quite like this one. Moving on to Barbarian Mine...

Grumy girl i sunshine kosmita 🩵
Uroczy byli fest!

“My goal is to make you smile, not bring more sadness to your face.”

Not my favourite in the series. I couldn’t give a damn about the external plot with the other alien invasion. Or whatever that was.

I just wanted more of our adorable couple. I love that they chose each other before they ‘resonated.’

Am I falling for these blue men? Absolutely. I’m all the way there now and I love it. 🥰

THAT GIFT OMGGG MY GIRL HAD A JUMPSCARE

"We will talk again, Sad Eyes. I am not giving up on you even if you have given up on yourself."

This was the cutest, Aehako was such a sweetie I already loved him in second book when we got glimpses of him and Kira, he was this funny side character and I couldn't wait to read his pov.

REMINDER WHY 7 FT BLUE BARBARIAN ALIEN IS BETTER THAN YOUR BOYFRIEND:

"She's mine. Resonance or not, Kira is my female, my mate, and I'll challenge any male that thinks otherwise."

"You'd be safe if it wasn't for me." "I'd be lonely and sad if it weren't for you," I tell her. "Do you think you are not worth a little risk?"

"I am interested in you. All of you. Your sad eyes, your soft smiles, your tears, your courage, and your worries. I am at your side now, and I will be at your side."

"If my khui resonates for someone else? I will not let it." He grins, utterly confident. "My heart is for you and you alone."

"His ¢o¢k looks as long as my arm"

According to Google the length of woman's arm ranges from 23 to 36 cm. Idk how these girls are still alive, but knowledge is power and sharing is caring😚

This has got to be some infectuous disease! Yes, I read #3 now too - and had some huge problems with it!

This volume is about Kira and Aehako. Aehako is sweet and all, but his easy-going philosophy wasn't for me either (in the beginning). He seemed to just want to have a good time "between the furs" and didn't care about tomorrow. Me no likey. Thus, I could understand guarded and scared Kira because there is nothing worse than wanting a relationship with someone who just wants sex.
Then again, we get A LOT of angst in here that, at some point, was just too over the top. Add to that the ridiculous encounter . *snorts* Yeah, right. That was even more unbelievable than the easy solutions in book 1!

But what really got my blood boiling (from anger, mind you) was the message that an infertile woman is "damaged" and "unworthy". I, fortunately, am not personally affected, but I know that this is a very problematic/hurtful topic and I do in no way support such a message. Which is why I ! Nopedy nope nope. I know that Words are nice, deeds are better and I didn't buy it.

Then again, as I stated before, these are not meant to be great stories. These are meant to be frames for as many sex scenes as possible, because let's face it: this is simply porn. The sex scenes is also where the author keeps scoring. Holy mothballs, every single time we get any of the characters to even only kiss or do foreplay, the air is suddenly getting hot in here (despite the icy planet).

So now I'm torn. The above mentioned HUGE problem with the story (oh, and let's not forget them all assuming that !) is a huge problem for me, while the book delivered what it was supposed to deliver: hot and steamy sex (I mean, I can even ignore the weird physical attributes of these guys and just picture ... uhm ... normal but well-built men). And the fact that simple porn can still make me care is ... disconcerting. *lol* So how to rate this?!

Yes, I just added a new shelf for my alien-smut books!! So?? I may or may not be addicted to this hilarious series. Okay, I totally am! This author writes the funniest alien porn that I've ever read (it doesn't matter that this is the only alien porn I've read. Not the point.).

Holy crap - here's a warning - do NOT google alien porn in the "images" section!!! Do NOT do it!! My eyes have been soiled! I was looking for a joke, man! The horror. The horror.

Okay, shake it off!
So, this book focused on the best of the male aliens, Aehako, and the not-best of the female humans, Kira. He is hilarious, outgoing, nice, and smiley. She is withdrawn, sad, quiet, and moody. The perfect couple!! He has been interested in her since the human girls show up, but they didn't resonate to each other (meaning: not insta-mates). She isn't about to get involved with him, even though she likes him, because they may end up resonating to other people and then have to break up. Why be happy now if she might end up sad later? It's better to just be sad all the time.

Oh, I found something else you are good at - harshing my buzz. Go be sad somewhere else!

In the last book, Aehako asked resident smart-ass Liz, how to woo Kira. She told him that an Earth custom was for the male to carve a replica of his penis to give to the female as a gift. He's happy to learn this information because he can totally do that. I have to say how much I love and admire Liz. To pull off telling him this with a straight face, and have him accept it is pure comedic genius and I cracked up about this practical joke this whole book.

he's giving me a gift?

"A courting gift," he emphasizes. "I worked very hard on it."

A.. courting gift? Is this a sa-khui thing? "I see." I shouldn't take it, but I have to admit that I'm curious as to what it is. It fills my hands and is about a foot long, and thick like a baseball bat. I unwrap it slowly... then stare. Surely that's not..."Is this your, um, penis?"

He nods proudly. "It's a very good likeness. I worked hard to get it just right. Of course, the others think I'm mad for staring at my own .... for hours while I whittle."

Lol! And, the best part? When he finds out that Liz tricked him, and that it was a practical joke, he cracks up! I love when people can take jokes. Good-natured, easy-going, funny men are my weakness (so I married one).

Aehako does and says all of the right things to get Kira to be his mate-of-choice.

"I saw you and thought, if ever there was a female that needed a male to make her smile, it was you. And that we would be perfect together.

Aww, that's so sweet! He is willing to put up with Eeyore in order to get laid make her happy. What a generous guy!

But, there's a problem. Kira is the one who has the electronic translator implanted in her ear from the bad aliens and she hears their communication that they are coming back to Not-Hoth to get their women/cattle. Kira also might be traceable through this device - which would lead the bad aliens to their alien fortress. So, she must go away, all alone, to fight the bad aliens and try to get this thing out of her ear. In typical Eeyore fashion, she is willing to be a martyr. She's not good for anything anyway... might as well go out...in the snow...alone....to her death.....maybe rape...cold...did she mention alone? Oh, okay, Aehako can come with her. If he insists. I'm sure it will be fine if he encounters hostile aliens trying to take his woman away to be sold at some alien auction. He'll be okay with that....

The only problem I had with this book was that it was slightly less funny than Georgie and Liz's books. Kira wasn't funny at all, and Aehako - who has always been funny - was brought down by her wet-blanketness. Overall though - this series rocks!
November 10, 2015
Can you believe there are 3 books in this series already? So much alien loving to read. And it's actually worth reading - it's not overly romantic, enough smut and comedy to entertain. It's endorsed by Alien Smut loving Australian women.

This edition is about Kira & Aehako. Kira is the Earthling with the crazy shell ear implant thing that translates all languages for her. She still has it in her ear and she has yet to resonate for anyone. She also has a secret. Aehako is one of the blue aliens on Not-Hoth, young & sweet, with a huge crush on Kira, but she is resistant to all his charms. He doesn't resonate for her, but he still really really wants into her pants.

In an effort to court Kira, Aehako carves a replica of his penis for her. It even includes his balls and spur (blue alien feature). What an all inclusive gift. Kira is of course stunned....hahaha.

Kira has to journey to the "Elders' Cave" aka the spaceship to try to remove her ear shell accessory, Aehako accompanies her. Harlow (Earthling) and Haeden (blue alien) go along on the journey as well. And thus the rest of the story....

Comedic & fun alien loving read. I look forward to more such reads with the MacHalo Ladies and the Alien Smut Loving Aussies.

The author's note at the end says she's writing book 4 & it should be done before December 2015. Yay. More blue aliens.

The chokehold this series has on me is unreal...

Anyway! Adored Barbarian Lover, the third in the Ice Planet Barbadian series by Ruby Dixon. Stellar addition to the series, just so good.

HOWEVER, please suspend reality to accept the fact that a virgin can accommodate a 12 inch plus sized d!ck the thickness of a small tree branch. I'm pretending that the parasite-thingy that lets them breathe the atmosphere has magically given them infinitely elastic vaginas, and I'm sticking to it.

Love the hurt/comfort and the advancement of the overall plotline here. I can't wait to get to the next one. Ruby Dixon has me in her clutches this weekend.

I luuuuuuuuuurve this series.

It is fast becoming one of my favorites when I want something hot, sexy and fun.

This one was a surprise, though. It had a different tone to the other two installments and while it was enjoyable, there was cloud of melancholy over the entire story.

I have to say, when I heard this would be Kira's story, I wasn't overly excited. She always came across as standoffish and incredibly bitchy in the other books, and while she retains some of that, as this story unfolds and we learn more about her, we come to understand why she has her guard up and why she is constantly keeping people at arms length.

"I want to make Kira squeal and lose that careful calm expression she always wears. I'm good in the furs. I know I can please her."

The first few chapters of this were absolutely heartbreaking. I am constantly surprised by the depth of emotion Ruby Dixon is able to wring out of me with these stories. And the ending of part five nearly gave me a heart attack. I am so thankful I had the entire collection and could keep reading straight away. That cliffhanger was horrible.

Aehako. My man. A total goofball, with a heart of gold. The way he proclaims his love to Kira is absolutely adorable. And the courting gift. What a hoot! He was the ray of sunlight, brightening up Kira's soul and this entire story along with it.

"I-what? No! I don't want to see your penis!"
"Are you sure? It's quite a nice one. Look at how fine my gift is!"

I had some issues with this, the first being Asha - she was an unnecessary drama that I could most certainly have done without. And the second being

Even with these minor gripes, I still really enjoyed this story and demolished it in nearly one sitting. Raahosh is still my favorite, but Aehako is a babe, and I have some ideas of how we can make his name a verb, but I will wait for the rest of the alien smut crew to read this before discussing.

"I do not need a khui to tell me who is the mate for me. You are mine and I will take every moment with you as a gift."

Bring on December. I need the next one, please.

W czasie misji jedna z dziewczyn zaginęła w tajemniczych okolicznościach i to o niej będzie kolejna część.

This was personally my least favorite of the series so far. Our leading lady, Kira, has a wonderful name but a very dull personality. She’s reserved, chronically worried about everything, and just not super fun to be in the perspective of. Alternatively though, our male protagonist whose name I will never be able to spell (…Aehako? Maybe?) is very fun to read about. He balances gloomy Kira with a free spirit and humorous personality.

The two major plot points in this book are Kira dealing with the knowledge that the big mean aliens have come back to take her hostage again, and that she’s barren so she’ll never be able to mate with one of the sexy blue aliens.

And for reasons that make me think I need to go to therapy, I actually kind of hated that they weren’t mated for so long. Turns out I’m the problem. Anyway. On to the next!

Aehako was a sweetheart, had a great attitude, and made me laugh, so I'd say he made this particular book for me. Who knew that horned, blue aliens with ridges, fangs, and a tail, could be this appealing and adorable or that this light, super spicy alien romp (series) could be such campy, naughty fun?

Dirty Santa win. Surprised how old-fashioned this is. Everyone is obsessed with getting pregnant, size of 🍆 and making their cave cozy. Meh. I expected something more exotic.

So far all of these books are such cute and well developed short reads. I am pacing myself, because there are some similarities between these books and the narrators are the same for all of them, so I am using them sparingly, to stave off reading slumps. So far it’s working. This third book in the series is slightly different than the last as the two mains do not resonate for each other but instead, choose to be together. Keira, the human female, has infertility due to an illness as a child and is unable to have children. Because of this her khui will not resonate. Apparently resonating only happens during ovulation, or for the possibility of pregnancy, so because of Keira’s fertility, she will not resonate. This is a cute story of how her big blue guy chooses to love her for herself and not for her female reproductive system. This would have been a great message, that a woman doesn’t only have value for her ability to bear children or as a womb, but
I did love that Keira was the saviour of the story and her heroic actions are what saved the humans from the aliens who returned to Nothoth for their human cargo. I like that this series shows women solving problems and saving themselves and their mates, not simply being victims or damsels in distress.
Overall I enjoyed this read but docked a full star off my rating for the bit at the end that I’ve hidden due to spoilers. It ruined the great message this book was sending. I will continue to the next book, perhaps in a few months when I tire of longer books again.

3.5 stars.🌟🌟🌟
Kira and Aehako's story.
Nice progression of the continuing adventures of life on the ice planet. This one sees the return of the girl's original captors.
Enjoyable reading, plowed straight through it. Seemed to be missing some of the specialness that was captured in the first two books.
Hence the slight drop in star rating.
I think maybe that I just didn't find Kira and Aehako's romance as interesting but it was still a fun and entertaining read.

Well, I didn't like this one. 😒

The whole innocent FMC and the OW/alien drama really got on my nerves. The ex-lover, Asha, stuck around until nearly the end, shamelessly seducing Aehako. 🤧

Even though he wasn't into it because he's all about Kira, he still didn't really do anything about the OW's attempts. He allows her to get close and touch him in a flirty way, even letting her into his personal space. Wtf was that all about? The worst part is, Kira saw it all go down, and she was the one yanking the OW away from Aehako, most of the time. Ugh! 🤦‍♀️

So yeah, I'm really annoyed with Aehako and his ex. If anything, I think he should've been the one to push the OW away from the start, not Kira. 😤

But since this book is pretty short, I might as well finish it. I don’t want to skip anything in the series. But if something like this happens again, I will definitely DNF it in a freaking heartbeat. 😑

Snow Shoes and Self Assisted Surgery!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💛🖤💜💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 🫣🤭🫠😮

The heroine: Kira - She was one of the women on board the slaving ship that was awoken out of her stasis pods for much of the voyage. She was the only one of the women whom the slavers implanted with a translator. The slavers “green aliens and basketball heads” wanted the women to understand their commands but didn’t want to spend the credits to give them all translators. Though her translator is more a hinderance than a help at this point. It makes everything louder and she picks up every sound around her.

The Hero: Aehako - He wants Kira and makes it clear to her that he is interested. Though he hasn’t resonated to her, meaning they are not mates. He calls her “sad eyes”. He gives her a pretty awesome courting gift that he whittles out of bone.

The Story: The barbarians (Sa-khui) live on the Ice Planet and have given a home to the women who were abandoned on their planet by the alien slavers. Though the aliens that dumped them on the Ice Planet did so because of some sort of technical difficulty with the ship. The aliens, haven’t yet forgotten about their expensive cargo and plan to retrieve them as soon as they can. They can track the women through Kira’s translator.

The book was told in dual points of view and narrated by Mason Lloyd and Hollie Jackson who are both great readers and have done some of the other Ruby Dixon books I have listened to. They both have pleasing voices and are easy to listen to.

The story is good. Some of the other humans think that they have not resonated with any of the Sa-khui because they can’t have children, since one was pregnant when she was taken and was given an alien abortion and another has an IUD. Kira knows that an accident when she was young made her infertile so she feels that might be the case for her as well.

SO VIEL PLOT.
