This book was required reading for one of my Ministry classes. As a general rule I try to write a book review Based on its content, and not my personal opinion concerning the author. Personally, I have not listened to or read after Tony Evans very much. I’m sure that we would have some theological differences. However, the book was well written. For the most part I thought it was theologically sound and engaging, filled with catchy illustrations that I will be sure to use. I thought the last three chapters on obedience, God‘s calling in your life, and spiritual maturity were fantastic. This would also be a great read for a young Christian.

This book was used for our Spiritual Growth-12 week course at our church. My husband and I attended the class and read the book. I would recommend to all Christians who want to grow spiritually. The book written by Dr. Tony Evans is a great tool, it describes and goes into detail regarding Christianity. Faith, Grace, Sin, Temptations, Calling, etc. it has helped me learn more about what true Faith is and my calling. Thankful for Pastor Tony Evans, for his wisdom and leadership in the church.

I enjoy the teaching, preaching, and overall ministry work from Pastor Tony Evans. He has an effective gift that makes spiritual topics about God real for me in a way that encourages and challenges me. This book, Kingdom Living, provides the teaching for one who desires to grow deeper in their faith in Jesus Christ assuming they have accepted or understand what salvation thru Christ means. The latter chapters on obedience and understanding the stages of spiritual maturity were most profound for me in this book.

What makes this book so effective are the stories and analogies to common things we experience in life such as physically growing older, marriage, work, or even how nature connect to spiritual truths provided through the Bible. This book is scripture based and offers many avenues for further study and reflection. Personally, it was a slow read for me to allow that reflection for reading as this was more like a daily devotional. I would recommend this for the curious person who may not know Christ well and desires to learn more or the mature believer in Christ who desire to go deeper.

This book is written to the Jesus Christ seeker along with the recently converted and long time believer. Author, Tony Evans, breaks down the foundation to start or continue on with a deeper more intimate relationship with Christ. He uses the bible, personal experience, and a litany of practical daily life analogies to bring these principles to life in this easy to read and doctrinally sound book. Personally, I would consider myself a mature believer. This book took me down memory lane on my moments of conversion to my growth years in learning more about my faith and purpose. By the end of this book I felt challenged and encouraged to continue through life's experience in a fully committed and deeply passionate focus on kingdom building.

Great for all believers

Whether your walk with Christ is new or seasoned, this book is for you. My wife and I had the pleasure and privilege of reading this book as part of a spiritual growth class at OCBF. It has proven invaluable, especially for the season that we are in currently. Dr. Evans combines truth with love in an easily digestible fashion. Truly life changing for my family.

I urge every believer to take a fresh look at your faith and walk. This tool is not just for you!!!
