Strong female friendships and a snappy enemies-to-lovers theme take center stage in this highly anticipated romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of The Dating Playbook.

Successful pediatric surgeon London Kelley just needs to find some balance and de-stress. According to her friends Samiah and Taylor, what London really needs is a casual hookup. A night of fun with no strings. But no one—least of all London—expected it to go down at her high school reunion with Drew Sullivan, millionaire, owner of delicious abs, and oh yes, her archnemesis.

Now London is certain the road to hell is paved with good sex. Because she’s found out the real reason Drew’s back in Austin: to decide whether her beloved hospital remains open. Worse, Drew is doing everything he can to show her that he’s a decent guy who actually cares. But London’s not falling for it. Because while sleeping with the enemy is one thing, falling for him is definitely not part of the plan.

i've clearly been blessed by the enemies to lovers pantheon because this is the second book i've read in a few weeks with what is, in my opinion, the toppiest tier of tropes:

- they are enemies
- but they're also attracted to each other
- and therefore they decide to enter a "mutually satisfying sexual arrangement"
- and in the process THEY CATCH ALL THE FEELINGS

Seriously, this is the Good Stuff TM and Farrah Rochon serves it in the Best. Possible. Way through:

1) London, who is the snarky overachieving physician heroine of my heart (She crochets to decompress. We have no choice but to stan.)
2) Drew, who is some kind of financial genius (I wish I could say more. Sadly, it has been explained to me several times what a hedge fund is, but I still don't understand) and a total badass but also goofy and approachable? I love him, your honor. He's perfect.
3) A rivalry that goes back to high school, when they were both valedictorians. Seriously, the banter. The memories. The way they throw in each other's face little things that happened 15 years ago is so deliciously petty I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL RIVALS.
4) Sexual tension that's off the charts (London's all "I don’t have to like you to boink you" but Drew was always into her despite the rivalry... THE FLAVOR!!!)
5) Two super competent people who are start off on opposite sides (London wants her hospital to not be sold, and Drew is in charge of making the assessment on whether it should be sold), but between fights and bouts of excellent sex they realize that they have tons in common and slowly fall for each other.
6) A setting (the hospital) that's basically a character of its own.

(Also they’re in their thirties and there’s a lot of commentary on how they used to be young but no more, and tbh, #relatable)

Basically: this book is pure romance gold AND we get to see Samiah and Taylor again, 80000000000 stars out of 5.

Yes! This is absolutely a big winner and my favorite book of Boyfriend Project series!

I was really curious to read accomplished, ambitious pediatric surgeon London Kelly’s story since main three heroines’ fates intercepted on a date at restaurant with a scumbag Craig who is fishing three of them at the same time!

London’s under a lot work related stress: the hospital she works can be closed because of financial struggles and she has to deal her own health issues thanks to her narcissistic dad’s worst genes she’s inherited. Best way to relax and forget all of her worries is getting laid as her best friends Samiah and Taylor ( we already met them at the previous books and read their stories) advised her to do.

And she gets what she’s wished for: A high school reunion ends with having sex with her 15 years long nemeses Drew Sullivan- a successful, ultra rich hedge fund manager, he has dreamy abs and charming smile!

No strings attach and one night and one daytime hook up later, she thinks she can move on her life after getting Drew’s sex charm out of her system. But eventually she finds out the real reason of Drew’s sudden visit to Austin: he’s the head of the audit team who will decide the future of hospital she’s working!

But now she has to cooperate with her long time enemy to save her hospital. And the man she’s detested for years wasn’t the man she thought he was. Drew seems like patient, caring, easy to talk and helpful.

Drew has also long time crush for her and he’s adamant to be her friend or more than that!
And London is stubborn enough to keep her professional life out from their fling! Or is it more than that? Palpable attraction, undeniably high sexual chemistry between them won’t make things easier! Game on!

I loved both characters and easy to empathize with their emotional struggles. As Drew misses the chance of having a family, London deals with her daddy issues and rebellious step sister!

Overall: I had great reading time and if you enjoy the previous books of the series, I highly recommend this book! It’s absolutely the BEST!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

I highly anticipated The Hookup Plan, and it was worth the wait. I do have to say that this unfortunately was my least favorite in the series, but with that also being said, it was still amazing!!! Farrah Rochon knows how to bring the steam! The Hookup Plan is an enemy to lover's trope. London and Drew were school rivals back in the day and now they are working together temporarily and man, you can feel the chemistry and steam!! The constant back-and-forth banter between London and Drew is hilarious and very cute. I love Drew's character the most, London is a bit standoffish and too cold for my liking sometimes. Overall, The Hookup Plan is an amazing read. I love the cover too!! If you are looking for a rom-com and love some steamy parts, this one is for you!!

Thank you, Net Galley, and Forever, for an ARC in return for my honest review.

I enjoyed this so much that I was this close to naming it the best book in the series. A part of me thinks this is true, but I don’t remember the first book, and I remembered enjoying the second book as well.

Drew and London’s passion for each other was really clear to me, whether they were arguing or whether they were……how do I say this in a modest way? Fucking. Yep, that’s the term. I’m so glad that they kept this passion as the book progressed and all the way to the end

Individually, I thought there were really interesting characters, with both of them being extremely passionate in their careers and other aspects of their lives, including family. I was thoroughly satisfied with London’s growth by the end. Not only with her career choices, but how she handled things with her family, especially her dad. I was extremely impressed that we didn’t get some sort of character change from some people who were toxic in her life because sometimes we don’t need to "fix" a relationship but we just need to keep our distance. Another thing I was extremely impressed by was the specific decisions London made in her career. Rochon didn’t need to tell us that London loves her job, because she did a great job illustrating that with London's decisions. I also liked the part where she has health problems. I don’t like it for her, but another great message here is how people can sometimes put many things above their own health.

Something that I’ve loved for all three of the books is the friendship between these three awfully powerful women. They make me laugh every single time they meet together. They really are good for each other and exceed expectations of what a book female friendship should be like.

I can’t wait for the next Rochon book....or series.

I actually really enjoyed this sassy enemies to lovers romance. I haven't read the other books in the series as they can be read as standalones, but I wouldn't hesitate to pick up the previous books as I enjoyed the friendships and from my understanding the others in the series feature the same characters. I liked the dual POV as both the love interests had good back stories and I enjoyed their separate journeys. I wanted a fun romance and this was the right book at the right time.

My fav couple of the series fwiw 🤭

Can't beat a book without a contrived break up imho so all the stars for that *kudos-snaps* & all the high-fives...do people still give high5s? 🤔
Never been my thing but they caught my eye in this read and now I'm curious 🙃

Kenneth & Frederick can take a long walk off a very short pier 🤬 mysoginistic @$$ hats. Wish our MC could have given ould Freddy a piece of her mind too, but the more warranted verbal smackdown will have to do me on this occasion I guess 😈

The MCs are both likable, and while i somewhat tongue in cheek bemoaned the "fade to black" of initial hook ups I think I see why the author made this choice - touché lady. We get more deets as their feelings flourish...fine I can appreciate layering even if I always want MOAR steam 😉

The stars of the show for me remain the friendship interactions between London, Samiah & Taylor tho. Their chats are such faves and I'm lowkey sad there is not another book in this universe for a chance to check back in 🤗

Very mild lack of communication/piece of info somewhat withheld at start, but thankfully it's outed and addressed quickly thus did not derail my enjoyment of this read in any way, but heads up that it's there...promise it is truly minor and we all know how much I *hate* this trope so my ability to overlook it (almost forgot it tbh) hopefully speaks volumes 😅

Light fluffy read, despite characters handling and addressing things that may be triggering for some (), this was just what the doctor ordered (sorry not sorry) to counteract my sucky work/life balance of late...somewhat my own doing but this was a kindly reminder that docs and healthcare providers are the real heros every damn day but especially in the last few years - don't worry dreaded Panini does not feature in this world #properescapism 😊

Romcom tropes
✔ enemies to lovers (well they were high school rivals)
✔ pining H
Will add more as they come back to me 😇

The Hookup Plan was the very first Farrah Rochon novel I’ve ever read. You may be wondering why I didn’t start with The Boyfriend Project book one and read them in order well… I read the synopsis of The Hookup Plan, and I couldn’t wait to read it.

short summary :

London is a pediatric surgeon in her final year of residency and is under a lot of stress, especially with rumors that the hospital might be up for sale and turned private because of money issues. Her friends suggest that she start hooking up with someone to relieve her stress, but she doesn’t want to hookup with anyone that works at the hospital.

London runs into her high school rival, Drew, for the first time in 15 years at their school reunion, and we follow their journey from there. Their banter was instantaneous, and they find themselves in a no strings attached hookup plan that neither of them saw coming. But London is surprised to know Drew was in town on business at the hospital where she worked. She had to work with him to help save the hospital. Will she be able to work with him and keep their hookup plan?

thoughts :

It took me some time to like London. But, the more I got to know London, the more I understood her and really started to like and respect her for standing up for what she believed no matter what—seeing her fight for the hospital to remain open to the public and stand up for all the nurses warmed my heart! She is a strong FMC, and there was a lot of character development, and I loved seeing her growth throughout the novel. I also loved seeing her interactions with her friends; they were entertaining to read!

I REALLY liked Drew! He was sweet and patient, and how he treated London had me swooning. I didn’t find anything about Drew that I disliked! I loved that he’s RICH but also generous, especially with the people he loves. AND HE FALLS FIRST!!

I really like how this novel started and the setting of the reunion! However, the further I got into it, the slower I found it to be (it was long and dragged a bit until about 70ish% in). I took a few breaks between reading, but I found that it picked up, and I adored the ending!

There wasn’t as much romance as I wanted there to be. It was more plot-driven and had a couple of hookups (some spice). I just wanted to see more romance and moments between them outside the hospital. London also reminded Drew that they weren’t friends like every other page, and I wasn’t a fan of that, and she was constantly bringing up their high school rivalry 15 years later and couldn’t let it go for the longest time. But, instead of miscommunication, they talk and work out everything, which I really appreciate about this novel!

Overall, this novel was good. If you like books with Ex-rivals (enemies)-to-lovers, forced proximity, great banter (and he falls first!!), this is the novel for you! and although this is part of The Boyfriend Project series, it can be read as a standalone!

TW: cancer, death of a parent, neglect by a parent, emotional abuse and gaslighting by a parent, sexism (at the place of work).

The Hookup Plan is the third book in The Boyfriend Project romance series. You could read this book as a standalone novel but given part of the charm of the series is the strong female friendships, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. That way you can see how London, Samiah, and Taylor first met. Each book features one of the ladies and a potential love interest with London as the lead character in this one.

At her high school reunion, pediatric surgeon London Kelley runs into her former classmate and arch nemesis, Drew Sullivan. They were co-valedictorians of their class and let's just say she was pretty competitive when it came to Drew. But that was then, and this is now and Drew is looking mighty fine. They hook up but it's totally just a one time thing. Well, maybe a casual fling while he's here in town. Or maybe....

This book is my favorite in the series and I think it works well because the characters already have this prior history. And having read the other books, you already feel like you know London and are rooting for her to be happy. Drew is a likeable character and it does melt your heart to know he always had a crush on London even when she couldn't stand him. Great chemistry between the two characters. Every romance has some conflicts and drama, but nothing feels over the top or unnecessary. It's just a very good contemporary romance.

Highly recommend checking this series out if you like romances with funny back and forth banter and steamy love scenes. While I'm sad to know this book is most likely the last in the series, I can't wait to check out what the author has in store next.

Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for providing me with an advance copy! All thoughts expressed are my honest opinion.

I was elated when I won a copy of the Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon. I have read the previous two books in the series and enjoyed them a lot. The Hookup Plan is an enemies to lovers romance that is sexy, fun, and filled with witty banter. One of the things I love about Rochon's books is how well-developed the characters are and how strong the female friendships are. Overall this book was a satisfying conclusion to the series. I look forward to Rochon's future books.

The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon
The Boyfriend Project series #3. Contemporary diverse romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but the ending does include the women from the first two books and refers to how they met (book 1).
London and Drew were rivals in high school. When they meet again at a reunion, London decides that Drew is the perfect candidate for a casual hookup. Complications pop up when they realize he could be the person that shuts down the place she works.

I loved London’s confidence in herself and her passion. So empowering. Sharing her issues with Drew also made her approachable and his reaction was suburb.
A great wrap to the series.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Farrah Rochon does a fantastic job of creating well rounded, nuanced female characters, and London was no exception! Not only did I love the romance in this book, but I loved London's relationship to her dad, friends, family, and job perhaps even more. The author clearly researched the life of a surgeon well, and adds the wonderful nuances of race and gender to the typical representation of surgeons and the patriarchal workplace which made London such a compelling character. Her relationship with her dad was also so interesting to read about, and how that affects her relationship with her siblings, though I wish the plot was integrated a bit more heavily in the first half.

The romance in this story was also very good, and reminded me of January and Augustus, my all time favorite book couple, which is always a plus. However, their relationship got a bit repetitive, to the point where I was skimming through parts because no additional traits were being added to their relationship even as it progressed. Still, I loved Drew, and especially loved how we got some chapters from his perspective. Definitely a strong read, would recommend for Emily Henry fans!

4.25/5

So far, The Boyfriend Project has definitely been my favorite of this series, but The Hookup Plan is still what I have come to know and love from these books, and Farrah Rochon as well. The Boyfriend Project series is based on the different ladies in a friend group and for this installment, we got London's story. She has been my favorite character in all of the books, and I was excited for her to finally find love. The banter and chemistry between Drew and London are completely on point and whew do things get a little spicy! I tend to prefer less steam, but Rochon seems to have a way with how she writes the spice in her books that it didn't feel like anything I couldn't handle. London is an amazingly smart and capable woman, but I wanted to knock her aside the head to make her really SEE Drew and how good he was for her. But we got there so it's all good!

Another thing I love about this series is the audiobooks, and the audio for The Hookup Plan is no exception. Even though they didn't HAVE to do it, each of the 3 installments is narrated by a different person and I loved how that gave Samiah, Taylor, and London unique voices. Marissa Hampton narrates this installment and I loved her for London! It doesn’t look like she has narrated anything else, at least nothing that is on Libro.fm, but she was a really solid narrator, and I would definitely listen to her again. The only reason I’m giving this book a 4.25/5 as opposed to anything higher is that for one I just wanted more of the friend group. They were really prominent in the other 2 installments but not so much in this one. I also wanted a bit more from London’s story. Having her as my favorite character made me build up this idea in my head of how hers should be super wonderful, and I was just hoping for more than I got. This is totally personal preference though, and I thought The Hookup Plan was a wonderful third book to the series. I bought myself a signed copy from one of Rochon’s local bookstores and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend this entire series if you like romance and strong female leads.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Listen to my conversation with Farrah Rochon in What Should I Read Next Episode #419: Romance is my entire personality.

The enemies-to-lovers trope is the backbone of this contemporary romance: London and Drew were arch rivals in high school, fiercely competing for top of the class. Years later, they once again find themselves in competition: London is a star surgeon at her Austin community hospital; Drew is the businessman with the power to privatize or close that hospital. I loved the contemporary Austin setting: as is the case in so many of Farrah's novels, I found myself googling neighborhoods, parks, restaurants, food trucks, shopping destinations, and more so I could see the real places where the fictional story unfolds. I've enjoyed this series for its strong female protagonists, essential female friendships, and pleasantly complex family relationships. (Open door.)

Aww, enemies-to-lovers in the best way possible!

I loved London and Drew, I loved the friendships of the three women who stuck together after Craig-the-asshole triple-dated them and made them go viral, and I loved the way Rochon so skillfully dissected the world-life balance of highly-driven people, and how being the best can put so much strain on you, particularly when the best means being a literal rockstar.

High school enemies to adult lovers! I had a great time with The Hookup Plan. London is a successful pediatric surgeon (though a stressed, hypertensive, workaholic one). At her 10 year high school reunion, she runs into Drew- her high school rival and co-valedictorian. He's back in town for work and they end up hooking up. Except, it turns out he's there to audit the hospital she works at...

What was great about this was how the romance between these two interweaves other personal issues and places they need to grow. London competed with Drew because she was trying for her narcissistic father's approval and must come to terms with that. Drew is still grieving the loss of his mother to cancer and his own feelings of responsibility. London is also carrying so much stress, it is beginning to impact her health. But she cares deeply about the well-being of her patients. Meanwhile, Drew has secretly always had a thing for London and this explores how different things are as adults than as teens.

The main downside was the steamy parts were kind of meh. Not much buildup or anything other than straight to P in V action which somehow magically leads to multiple orgasms. It kind of made me roll my eyes and I wish there had just been fewer scenes altogether if it was where it was going to go. Otherwise, I really liked the characters their growth arcs, and the romance! The audio narration is great as well. I received an advance audio copy of this book via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

2🌟s It Was Okay

This book had everything I love in a rom-com.
-Good Writing
-Equally amazing audio book narrator
- Funny banter
- A really nice hero who was SECRETLY PINING FOR THE GIRL FOR YEARS! 🥺

But all lost to the annoying female protag- London. It was really frustrating to follow London. She works really hard, which I love to see in my rom-coms. However, she was really struggling with controlling things around her. I wonder how she chose to become a Pediatrician with such controlling issues lol. She hated Drew for a silly reason which is irredeemable to me. All I have to say is that Drew deserved better!

This has been an enjoyable series, and I thought this book wrapped it up nicely. I liked that this series centers around a strong female friendship, and this is the final book in the series focusing on London, a pediatric surgeon, whose hospital is in a financial bind. In comes Drew, London's high school nemesis, to audit the struggling hospital. They first re-connect at their high school reunion and find much of that animosity has been left behind, and attraction and one-night stand followed. Except there's Drew at the staff meeting when she's next at work and things get complicated.

I liked the main characters in this story and found the the love story convincing. It was a fairly straight-forward romance with any drama being external. It was low-angst, and it didn't have a strong climactic moment for me. However, if looking for a low-angst romance with worthy characters, this is a good choice.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book. Views are my own.

𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦

The Hookup Plan is the final installment in the The Boyfriend Project series and one that I was most excited to read because I was ready to see London Kelley meet her match and fall in love!

The Hookup Plan is a rivals-to-lovers romance about a pediatric surgeon, London Kelley, and her high school nemesis, Drew Sullivan. The two cross paths at their high school reunion and end the night sharing a bed. London soon learns that Drew will be in her life for the next few weeks as he has been hired by the hospital London works at to find a way to keep their doors open to the public. A one-night stand soon leads to many as the pair agree on a casual hookup plan that will end once Drew leaves town. Will these two be able to part ways once their time together comes to an end or will their feelings for one another be too hard to ignore?

❧ It really sucks to say, but I did not enjoy London's book as much as I hoped I would. The whole "you ruined high school for me" bit was kind of getting repetitive and I just wanted her to get over it and move on from it.

❧ I did like Drew as a match for London. His character was so down to earth and he really grounded London when she needed, which she did because she was stressed all the time!

❧ The romance did not get the attention it deserved! I literally wanted to throw my phone when the first sex scene ended up being fade to black! 😭🔪I wish there was more time spent on these two getting to know one another outside of the issues with the hospital and London being hung up on the rivalry.

❧ Overall, The Hookup Plan ended up just being a flop for me.

“I can’t believe I’m about to say this.” She paused for a moment, then shook her head. “But you are exactly what I’ve been looking for, Drew Sullivan.”

I enjoyed The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon. It’s frenemies with benefits, so it gets tense and hot, but also has some sweetness and heavy real life relatable moments weaved in. I loved the banter between London and Drew and just the fact that this was HS rivals to adult… whatever they are now 😂 but also that this was about family and friendships too. Definitely recommend if you enjoy contemporary romance with FWB trope.

This was such a good finale to The Boyfriend Project series! I really enjoyed the rivals to lovers storyline between London and Drew. Sometimes it can feel a bit silly for adults to be holding onto a high school grudge fifteen years later, but I think the way that London’s mindset was explained made a lot of sense. And it was fun to see her open up and start caring about Drew.

The plot outside of the romance added a lot to the story. London’s strained relationship with her father and half-siblings were interesting to read about. Also the fate of what would happen to the hospital where London worked and other aspects of her career journey heavily impacted the story. And Drew’s reasons for wanting to be involved with helping out struggling hospitals added a lot to his character.

Something that I wasn’t a fan of is how Drew and London’s first couple sex scenes don’t happen on page. They start hooking up very early in the book but you don’t actually get to read them fully until it’s already happened a few times. I personally like to be present as the reader for the first time between the characters. It just felt like an odd choice because the whole book isn’t fade to black. But overall I had a great time reading this. I’m definitely going to be looking forward to more books from Farrah Rochon.

This was my first read from Farrah Rochon, but considering the hype surrounding the other books, I was excited for a new Black romance. This book was a huge letdown. I found London to be extremely annoying and truly only stayed to be able to give a review. Who holds a one-sided grudge for 15 years??? It was super juvenile. Much of the dialogue felt cringey, forced and inauthentic, as if the editors took all the Blackness from it. The character had 0000 chemistry to me. This had such great potential but the execution was lacking severely.

The Hookup Plan was a great conclusion to this series as we finally get to have London’s story.

While I absolutely adored this book, I didn’t feel like it was as strong as the first two books.

What I loved:

Getting to know and understand London.
London is a pediatrician surgeon resident whose reputation already has colleagues both loving and hating her, which is made worse considering she’s a Black female. She’s incredibly confident in both her knowledge and abilities and refuses to let anyone tell her otherwise (rightfully so).

The history and chemistry between London and Drew. While I empathized with London more (since her experiences mirrored so much of my own), I couldn’t help but love the competitive behavior and banter between them.

I loved that we still got interactions between London, Samiyah, and Taylor, but they were less frequent in this story versus the previous three. I wanted a bit more girl time, but I understand that the trio wasn’t the forefront of this story.

What I didn’t love:

My one gripe from this book was how the audiobook narrator narrated the steamy scenes. The scenes themselves were fantastically written but the narrator delivered a monotone delivery. It made for a jilted experience.

Thank you Forever Books & Hachette Audio for providing a review copy. This did not influence my review. All opinions are my own.

I've loved this series from the beginning and have been eagerly awaiting London's book.

I love love love London. She's smart and hardworking, loyal and ready to love. Drew is charming and giving and knows how to push London's buttons. Together they have history and chemistry and banter for days. I loved reading them reconnect and figure out how the relationship went from hooking up to friends to more.

Plot wise, it was good. There's little to no angst (even though I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop) and the conflict doesn't really come from the relationship. These two are honest with themselves and each other and it was so refreshing to see the communication on the page. Of course, the scenes with all three ladies were some of the best and it's really been a highlight of this series. And the ending chapter was absolute perfection.

Overall, these three books really shine when it comes to female friendships and I know I'll be reading them again and again.

I’ve enjoyed this series, and was so excited to read London and Drew’s story! THE HOOKUP PLAN features an enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of steam.

It was so fun to see high school rivals reunite as they reconnect at a high school reunion and decide to hookup at the end of the night. That angsty chemistry was off the charts, and I loved their competitive banter.

Not only was this a fun, sexy romp of a romance, but I loved that it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows as each character had plenty of challenges that they are trying to overcome. Drew with the emotions following the death of his Mom, and London as she tries to finish her residency while dealing with the complicated relationship with her Father.

It was so refreshing to see a strong female friendship featured with the women that London is surrounded by, as they cheer each other on and really love and support one another.

I listened to the audiobook ALC and really enjoyed it!

The final book in the Boyfriend Project series, and in my honest opinion, Farrah Rochon saved the best for last! Thanks to Read Forever for the gifted copy of this book.

If you're a fan of enemies to lovers, romance stories with realistic conflict, and watching two people grow as individuals and as a couple through some turbulent times, then this is the book for you.

The Hookup Plan is my kind of romance. I talk about this a lot, but this one also hits all of my favorite things in a romance story. Yes, it focuses on the couple. Yes, it has an HEA/HFN that will satisfy you, but what this book also has are two very flawed humans coming to terms with the drama of their lives and making room for each other, their love, and a future that's worth fighting for.

I absolutely loved London and Drew's story. London is this hardworking pediatric surgeon who needs to make the next big decision of her life: whether she should stay at the County hospital that she's currently working at or follow a really great fellowship in a much bigger city like Chicago. Drew is a super wealthy financial guy who has the unique opportunity of auditing London's hospital and seeing whether or not selling the hospital makes sense or if it's something that can be avoided with some clever financial work on his end.

London and Drew already know each other from their past as high school rivals fighting for the position of Valedictorian (only to be co-Valedictorians on the day of graduation). London despised Drew for always being the roadblock in the way of her ultimate success. Drew, on the other hand, only competed with London in order to gain a little bit of her attention. Because Drew has been in love with the idea of London since he first laid eyes on her.

15 years later and an awkward meet-cute at their high school reunion, London and Drew decide the best course of action for their amorous behavior is to be friends...with benefits. And you can guess where the story goes from there.

London and Drew were such real people in this book faced with very realistic issues in their life. This isn't some lie by omission child's play, but the real deal: having complicated family lives, having to make major decisions that will change the trajectory of their life. Dealing with the stresses that work and coworkers provide and navigating all while also maintaining some semblance of a social life. It felt real and that was the biggest draw for me here. I was rooting for London with the difficult conversations she had to have. I was hoping Drew would come clean about his feelings. The fact that the story felt so realistic made it more interesting for me to see where it goes. I knew Farrah Rochon wouldn't let me down and she definitely didn't!

It was such a heartwarming story with the kind of fantastical romantic gestures that will make you swoon. My heart was overflowing and a little bit breaking when it came to the realities they each had to face. I was so invested in this couple and rooting for them the entire time. The steam was pretty steamy and the relationship between London, Samiah, and Taylor was in full force in this novel. I know folks felt like they were absent throughout the first book, but I love seeing them all comfort each other, hold each other accountable, and really come into their own as best friends.

Another great one in the books for me. So happy to have read this one and I hope you pick it up too.
