Her pack is destroyed. Her Alpha is dead.

All that Pheir has left is rage. And the Conclave doesn’t trust she won’t seek revenge...for good reason. There’s only one way to bind Pheir’s loyalty: a forced marriage to the Alpha of an enemy pack. And who better to drag Pheir away than said pack’s highest-ranking officers?

The only problem is, Pheir’s escorts would rather kill her than transport her. Caius still has scars from Pheir’s talons, and Aren can only keep his composure for so long.

But the leftover energy from battle runs hot between all three of them. And if Pheir can use that distracting desire to make her escape...how deep is the line between lust and hate, anyway?

Bound is a 13k-word novelette in the Fangs With Benefits universe. It serves as a prequel to three future standalones.

Warning: This is a MMF encounter between a werewolverine, a werelynx, and a harpy. It is intended only for adult audiences. Reader discretion is advised.

Content warnings are listed in the book's front matter and on the author's website.

Pheir hates them; she’s always hated them, clashing in every battle, finding each other on the field so they could dig their claws into each other.

This was 45 pages of one of the wildest reads, I've ever gone through. It was incredibly out of my comfort zone, but it was nicely written and successful in its purpose, which is establishing the foundations and the characters for the author's upcoming book Vicious Devotion.

The trope was enemies-with-benefits. And there was ...a lot of spice. The mcs truly detested each other. There was so much anger and hate oozing out of them along with revengeful attraction.

I feel like the main trope - monsters - can probably be uncomfortable for many readers. It certainly is intense, so check the tropes before diving in.

Did I like it? It was interesting.
Would I reread it? Uncertain.

“I get hard, and I stay hard as long as it takes to wear your ass out.” He grinds against her. “Now tell me it’s too fucking deep.”

description

Welp...this was just a giant hate-fuck-fest.

Not terrible, but not something that I personally enjoyed. Mostly because degradation and demeaning is really not my jam. The sex was consensual and there was a safe word discussed before hand so thumbs up for that 👍 but

But if verbal and physical degradation is your kink, you like a little monster smut, and you have KU then maybe you should pick this up because it's a quick novella. But regardless check the tags for triggers just in case.

"Why would I want to fuck you? I hate you."
Move over enemies-to-lovers, here comes the superior trope - enemies-AND-lovers. Pheir has every reason to want to kill Aren and Caius, the most immediate one being that they're Pheir's prison guards, hauling her from one cell to another, away from her family, her pack. And the hate-fuck fest that is this novella is a breath of fresh air.
Monsterfuking at its finest. And it's a kinky monsterfucking at that. There's a lot going on but the CNC and degradation are the main ones.
The story is a prequel, so it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, preparing the readers for the upcoming full-length sorry of Pheir, Aren, and Caius.

Make sure to read the provided content warnings/guidance the author provides; this definitely isn't for everyone.

Bound is an introduction to another Aveda Vice world, one of weres and mythical creatures that form packs and battle for territory and dominance. I'm looking forward to future books that flesh this world out more. This one is a quick introduction to the main characters and focuses on Pheir, harpy and knight of a now-conquered pack, placed in with another that contains her two main nemesis. She will later be wed to the pack alpha, a rabbit were she has no love for.

Bound is a very long degradation-filled hate fuck. If you need some softness, best go look elsewhere.

Another intriguing, sexy, and complicated piece of art from Aveda Vice once again! BOUND will leaving you curious and maybe even a little restless for more! From the complexity and mystery of its characters, the world they inhabit, and the strange hierarchy of it all — to the hot, troubled, and almost sincere moments... you're never left with even a second of boredom!

Aveda throws you into emotional turmoil from the very start, and then tosses us right into Pheir's struggle between rage and insatiable lust,
her captors making it no easy feat to resist despite her fury and distaste for their existence (and her lack of ability to sink her talons into them).

I'm curious and eager to see more of these characters and learn the story/stories behind them! It was a great read that I devoured near instantly but truly couldn't (and still really can't) find the proper words for!

First off let me say that there is a link and a QR code to scan to take you to the TW/CW in the book before you begin reading so adhere to that…thank you!

Next, I want to start every Aveda Vice review with “AVEDA MF’ING VICE!!” If monsters, supes, inter-species copulation is not your thing - this is not your book. If you can’t handle a little, well a lot of humiliation and degradation, again - not your book! I will tell you that Aveda weaves a tale of a lost Harpy, Capheria who still wants to fight even when her pack has been scattered to the winds. She’s angry, bitter, a little broken, and looking for vengeance. Her penance is to marry the Alpha of the Timbers, and she is not having that. Her escorts Caius and Aren whom she’s faced in battle many times are not very gentle in their journey. Her rage and pent up adrenaline turns into the need to expel that extraness within, and the two weres can smell it! What’s your safe word little bird?

“How can someone so violent, so wicked understand anything but sheer brutality? But he’s putting every tell in her body on display while he decimates her.”

Color me READY for the full book because in this intro Novella Aveda knocks me off kilter and I know what to expect, but daaaammmmnnnn!!!!

4.5⭐️/4🔥

This here took me OUT!!!
“Don’t tell me you’ve never fucked a were like me before.” He throws her words back at her, rutting in so deep they both make a strangled sound when he pins her face to the tree. “I get hard, and I stay hard as long as it takes to wear your ass out.” He grinds against her. “Now tell me it’s too fucking deep.”

Aveda Vice, I love your brain!!

Was Monster fucking. Can confirm.

What a ride! If you’re interested on monster based dark erotica that verges on horror, this is the short for you. It’s the first novella in a series of stories about a female Harpy MC (I love it. So unique) that had just been defeated in war, taken as the spoils, & is being escorted off to another tribe’s alpha. In this book she gets her feathers ruffled by a Werelynx, Aren, & a Werewolverine, Caius who help her work off the tense battle high of war, despite their mutual hatred. It does not go gently.

There were elements in this that weren’t for me, but they were squicks not triggers & the context that the author wrote them in made sense in the scene. I would absolutely recommend heeding the author’s trigger warnings. As short as this is, it gets intense.

i’ll definitely be tuning in for book 2. The world building is engaging & well done without being boring. Aren is the type of character that has me interested to see where he goes next. Pheir is savage & I love her. Bring on more filth, monster fans!

Bound tropes, per the author: short & spicy prequel, werewolverine x werelynx x harpy, forced marriage of convenience prequel, MMF pansexual MC’s, enemies who fuck, primal play, bondage, blood play, cum play

I love these prequels that Aveda Vice writes; they really whet your appetite for the main story! I'm really intrigued by the set up that Bound has put down. Obviously we're all here for the smut (which is on point) but I really want to learn more about this world. I hope the author keeps writing these!

I reread this so I can read Vicious Devotion and loved it just as much as the first time. This goes there and don’t apologize for it. Aveda always does humiliation so fucking well. This is a little fucked but in the best possible way. If you want rough dirty mmf hate fucking this is for you. This is definitely not beginner monster romance. Like at all.

Excited to see their story unfold and how the forced marriage of convenience will play out.

TW: blood, death, murder, violence, gore, being bound up, humiliation/degradation, piss play, primal play, consensual non-consent, blood play, spit play

(Feb 2022)
Yes. Yes. 100xs yes.

Pheir’s Alpha was just murdered and her pack is torn apart. To keep the remaining three apart the Conclave plans to marry them off to their rivals to force them to bond onto the leaders of those packs. Pheir is given to the Timbers; Caius and Aren. Caius still has fresh wounds from the battle that Pheir left on him. Will they be able to get her back to their pack without someone dying?

Y’all this was dirty as fuck in the best way. I can always count on Aveda to go there. This was a primal hate fuck wrapped up in a tangible unwanted wanting. They were covered in blood and dirty but it was still hot. The kinks were a plenty in this so check the cw if you have pearls to clutch. This really was wild but I ate that shit up. I have been in a reading slump this month but I devoured this. This was mmf and everyone is involved. It was short but I already want more of the characters. I loved the way their personalities played off each other. I liked the feralness of Caius and Pheir while Aren is more controlled. This isn’t even out yet and I already want more with them. I want to see how this will play out between the three of them. I will read anything that Aveda Vice writes because I know no matter what it’s about it will be a good time.

This comes out March 4th but you can preorder it now.

I am SO EXCITED to see where this series goes in the future. Yes, it is very dark and sexy, but the world-building is also amazing detailed. Within a few pages, I felt myself wrapped up in this world and wanted to know more. The characters all seemed well flushed out, even if us (the reader) were not fully in on the details yet.

Pheir is powerful, dangerous, and determined. Without knowing her full story, you immediately know that she is not going down without a fight. Caius seems to be similarly unhinged like Pheir, which makes them butt heads immediately. Aren comes across as aloof but still in charge, and has a pretty dirty mouth. I'm obsessed with these characters and will probably re-read this again very soon.

This was super steamy and tuned into some interesting things I did not know about myself 👀

** A copy of this e-book was provided to me for an honest review. I was not paid for this review, and my opinions and thoughts are my own. I was not influenced to give this book a higher or lower warning by receiving an early copy. **

If you love enemies to lovers, but like real enemies, like sworn mortal enemies, blades (or claws) at throat ready to k*ll each other first chance they get, looks filled with absolute vitriol and hate... look no further. I'm always in awe of Aveda's worldbuilding and imagination and they did not fail to impress again.

This is a short & (not so) sweet prequel for the upcoming full-length and man, am I excited for the follow-up after reading.
It's a bit bloody, very kinky, and hot all the way through.

Thanks to the author for providing an ARC in exchange of an honest review.

Ever since reading Feed, I've read every book the author has published. That couple and their chemistry made me a loyal reader and in her latest book the author still surprises me with how haaaawt she makes the scenes.

This story, however, is way different than the other ones in that we have genuine hatred from 2 parties in the throuple and this was a tease to their interaction. I will say that the plot didn't capture my attention so I'm only going forward with the series because of the throuple's romance. Obviously there wasn't any type of connection but lust and hate between them because this is only the beginning so I wasn't put off.

While the scenes are way more humiliating, again because of the actual hate they have for each other, I wasn't totally horrified. They definitely caught me by surprise so be sure to check TW. I'm... Interested in seeing how their relationship develops and how hotter the sex gets when they finally like each other!

Overall, by itself it's a pretty forgettable story with characters that aren't compelling enough to hold your interest. What's holding it together for me is the sex so hopefully we get to see more interesting sides of these characters in the next book.

“She’s always had a taste for their pain. All three of them drawn towards each other across the chaos, Pheir’s talons honed on them.”

Bound was a WILD ride, but as always, Aveda delivers and does not disappoint.

These characters are a little savage, a lot feral, and VERY intense. Do NOT go into this blind, please check the CW on Aveda’s website, some of these kinks are not for everyone. We are dropped immediately into turmoil in the aftermath of Pheir’s pack being torn apart after their alpha is killed. The three remaining members are being married off in an effort to bind their loyalty. Pheir is being escorted by her new pack’s highest members, Caius and Aren, and things escalate quickly.

Kinky monsterfucking at its finest (a harpy, a werewolverine, and werelynx), Bound is dirty and delightful. The chemistry between the three characters is explosive and had me tearing through the book. They are chaotic as hell. Caius and Aren are so gone on Pheir already, I can’t wait to see how the dynamics play out in their full novel. Marriage of convenience is my favorite trope and I’m excited to see Pheir and Leverette come together as well.

Highly recommend checking it out! I already know I’m going to be rereading this like I did with Feed.

Body guards x captive, arranged marriages, post-battle enemy fucking, A/B/O /pack dynamics, BDSM, con non-con, degradation and praise, blood play, breeding kink, territorial marking (golden showers), animal characteristics. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for a review.

Capheira is the harpy whose pack was torn apart, Aren is a werelynx and Caius is a werewolverine who were part of the Conclave who took them down; I would love to see some art of these three because that’s definitely an interesting set of characters! Fucking to get rid of post-battle high is one of my favorite tropes ever. Hatefucking the enemy body guards whom you’re set to marry/be claimed by to get you to submit was hot af. It’s a nice prequel story, I’m looking forward to the books following this! I’m assuming the first book will be Capheria’s story based on how this ended in a cliffhanger. I’m hoping the other two set for the series will be the two surviving pack mates (Rhaiden and Thalea). I would love to learn more about their journeys post battle and more about this Conclave that hunted them down. I’m kind of imagining the Conclave to be similar to the Volturi in Twilight atm😅

The master of all things dark and steamy does it again. Bound is quick read, prequel novella that introduces us to Pheir, a Harpy filled with rage and desires of revenge for her alpha and pack-mates just slaughtered in-front of her.
Heartbroken and lost, Pheir is handed over to a rival pack of Weres, and placed directly under the care of her rivals and battlefield enemies, Caius (were-wolverine) and Aren (were-lynx) to be escorted to her new home.

There’s no love lost between these three, but with the bloodlust from battle still pumping through their veins and the hatred between Pheir and her escorts at an all time high things come to a head in an explosive way. Holy hotness 🥵🔥🌶

Heed the TWs as there is no softness/tenderness or love here… this story is raw emotion and animalistic urges. I can’t wait to see what happens with this trio next.

CW: violence, blood, bondage, CNC
MOOD: dark, violent, kinky
TROPES: enemies to lovers,
FAV QUOTE: She needs to be contrary. She needs to make this harder for them.

THE GOOD: What happens when you have a battle-worn harpy, a werelynx, and a werewolverine. No plot, only hate sex vibes. I did like how consent was handled; even with all the hate and violence, the characters did check in. I don’t think a lot of books, let alone 50 page stories, really get the consent part of CNC.

THE NEUTRAL: Hard to start and I’m not sure exactly why. I think it was the sheer amount of characers introduced in the first few pages - and many of them aren’t in the rest of the novella. While I liked the description of the weres being “like shifters lifted on two legs, caught between one phase and the next,” I don’t like the use of were to describe that.

THE MEH: This wasn’t my favorite Aveda Vice but I’m hopeful for Vicious Devotion (and I just started Inextricably Tied)

Check trigger warnings and content warnings on Aveda's website before reading!! Examples: humiliation, blood play, piss kink, you can find the rest on the website

Oh my my MY this was 5 monster rough housing together in the woods! There Aveda goes working the smut magic into everything they write. The way Aveda wrote this trio really made me feel like they were enemies who happened to find each other sources of pleasure. I didn't think I was into this type rough housing but Aveda really made this so enjoyable and hot.

I really did feel Caphiera's loyalty and her internal and external battle at staying loyal to her original pack while fighting the desire she feels for her enemies who are transporting her to her new home.

This is a very quick read if your looking for some monster (👁furry👁) erotica goodness!! And I can't wait for their full story. I'm super excited.

I had to read this book twice because the first time around my mood was just not having it. I waited to get out of my reading slump and then tried again. And thank goodness I did, quite enjoyed it this time and I'm beyond ready for the full-length. I have questions and I'm just eager to know what's going to happen! Caphiera is being pulled in so many different directions, but something pulls on her stronger than her inner turmoil.

This novella is the ultimate hate f*ck/enemies-to-lovers. And Aveda truly writes it all extremely well.

Like I am after every novella I've read by Aveda, soooo eager for more!

Lots of trigger warnings with this that you can check out on Aveda's website. https://www.avedavice.com/bound

First of all, let me just say: read the trigger warnings!!!

This novella was a bit hard to read, if only cause I don’t have enough of it!! It was a great teaser to see for the next book. I hope Pheir doesn’t make it easy for Aren and Caius after all that. I felt so bad for her in the first half that it did take me a bit to enjoy the book. I hope Aren and Caius especially fall madly in love with her and she makes them work for her affections.

All in all, it was a good book and I will definitely check out the next one to see what happens!

3/5 stars!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This one made me realize what kinks I don't like while also showing good writing. Even if most of the kinks in here are not for my taste, I still enjoyed the reading experience because of the author's writing style and I really appreciate that. I also enjoyed the dynamics explored between the three of our main characters. Aside from that, the hint of worldbuilding for this series intrigues me, especially the pack dynamics between different groups. I definitely am excited to read the full-length novel for these main characters.
