Sorry- not an anthology. Definitely different! Some stories are hot- some are a bit strange. Tough to rate. 3.5 STARS ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have mixed feeling on this one and it is a tough one to rate. The fetish topics are varied so there are some that will inspire your imagination; others are a bit out there for my tastes. But one thing is for sure, the heat is there in varying degrees.
A compilation of short stories all set in the late 1800s when taboo subjects were not the norm. Well written and loaded with the author's wildest dreams.
A spicy mix, for when you need a quick pick me up!
This is a collection of Victorian romance/erotica short stories. I have mixed feelings about the stories. I enjoyed a few of them, but others did not hold my interest. What I did like it’s the kind of book where you can pick and choose the stories that you want to read, but each one is a standalone, so you don’t have to commit to them all.
There are a bunch of different kinks and fetishes to explore, and the stories are very steamy. The characters are fleshed out well too. Overall, it was an okay read for me. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. Thanks to Entangled Publishing for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
Fetish is a collection of Victorian romance stories. 10 stories, each with their own fetish. And, trust me, these are fetish's that I, at least, have never imagined!
I definitely found out my comfort level with some of these, lmao. It's seriously a very wild ride and if you are prepared or not, I can guarantee you will probably be stunned at least once!
First and foremost, let's not yuck anyone's yum or kink shame anyone.
This is a truly interesting collection of 10 short stories following different couples and their kinks. There's a list of the corresponding kinks explored as well as content warnings preceding each story which I thought was a thoughtful addition.
I found this to be a fascinating read, covering a wide range of fetishes from more generally known to some that were new to me. The stories all take place in the 1800s and do have some emotion involved, it's not just PWP, and the couples are in various stages of their relationships.
While I enjoy the format this was in, starting a new story about a new couple and a new setting 10 times in a row was a touch exhausting, but I wholly believe this books did what it set out to do.
Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was pretty good. Nothing can top Aphrodite in Bloom but this was a close runner up. I think there where just some chapters that I didn't care for and if you dont really care for the content then it feels like the chapter drags on for forever. However, the ones I was into were fun to read! Over all a pretty good book club pick to end the year on!
It's written well and many of the stories are exciting and enjoyable. However, each chapter focusing on a different fetish makes some of them a little niche. A couple chapters I didn't find arousing at all. However, most of the book is very fun.
Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is a historical anthology of erotica based in the late 1800s. Taking place all over the world, this collection does not fall short of appeal. Each story is about 5 chapters long and feature its own characters, own romance, and (of course) it own fetish.
This title is the personification of proving "Wait, people didn't do that back then!" WRONG.
Each chapter brings it's own fetish to light, some were great, others were very different (at least for me). I don't want to get too detailed, but go ahead and checkout the summary to get an idea of what's included. But, HEY! To each their own, I still found all these stories very intriguing to read about. I also enjoyed the couples and their stories. Some were just finding love, others had been married for years. There was insta-love, arranged partnerships, and a love that grew stronger through shared interest after years together. I also appreciated the TW before each section, as some content may be not suitable for some. When I say there really is a story you will find to enjoy, I mean it.
Each chapter was well written and had the perfect amount of plot to spice ratios. Like I said, some stories were stronger than others, but in all this was a solid 4-star read for me.
This book is everything expected and more. It is steamy, sensual and erotic. But even better than that, it had much more story than I had expected. Each new fetish has a developed storyline and romantic build-up between the characters. The characters are also diverse and don't feel like a copy paste from each story. With a new fetish in every story, it definitely offers a unique glimpse into the world of kink, making each story a learning experience as well as a very interesting and enjoyable read.
I greatly appreciated the fact that every story has a trigger warning, allowing the option to skip to the next story if wanted.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this title.
A surprise gem hiding amongst my books, I loved this collection. I only wish I knew who some of the writers were so I could follow them or see if there are more stories they have written. I picked this book up on a lark because I'm running out of erotic/sexy books to review on this blog. The blurb for this book doesn't do it justice. This is a wealth of unique, provocative, and deliciously erotic stories. I enjoyed every single one of them

This book needed to find new euphemisms for a vagina 😂 That being said it was sexy, but fleshed out. There were actual stories and not just sex. I had my eyes open to new fetish communities I had never heard of, and some I would read more of 😮 That being said, it was a quick dirty read I enjoyed. There are some minor editorial changes that need worked on, but the rest is ready to be sold!
This book is full of historically set erotic short stories. It's well written and definitely has some very diverse topics/fetishes. Some of them weren't really what I prefer in these types of stories, but again that's a personal preference. I think this will still appeal to other people who feel this is right up their alley! Overall, it's fun and quick and has a little something for everyone. I recommend this for people who like to step outside of the box!
I would rate this erotic read as a 4/4.5 star for me — it caters to a variety of spicy appetites & there’s something for everyone (your favorite stories may surprise you)!
There were only two stories that I wasn’t as much of a fan of, and others that definitely made the book worthwhile.
Fetish by Anonymous A Collection of Victorian Erotic Stories
Finely told intriguing stories that tastefully explore a variety of erotic fantasies that opened my mind and allowed me to peek into what others enjoy.
What I liked: * The writing – superbly written, hot, steamy, drew me in and made me more aware * The wide variety of fetishes * That I could actually visualize the scenes and at times felt I could have stepped into some of them * The historical setting and variety of settings * That there were characters from more than one social class. * That the lovers were given happy endings even if sometimes unconventional * Wondering who the anonymous author might be and wanting to read more of their work * That relationships were consensual * Realizing that the author of this collection wrote Aphrodite in Bloom – a favorite * Everything about these stories was superb
What I didn’t like: * I usually put this section in but…there isn’t anything for me to say that I didn’t like though some appealed to me more than others.
Did I enjoy this book? YES! Would I read more by this author? Definitely…if I knew who it was ;)
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled-Amara for the ARC – This is my honest review.

My Selling Pitch: Do you want to read a collection of smutty stories set in the Victorian era? Are you interested in reading about different fetishes that are definitely not vanilla?
Pre-reading: Once more unto the breach. Just an absolute glutton for punishment I guess. I love a short story collection.
Thick of it: The chapter descriptions alone. My god.
You know I love the trigger warnings and period accuracy.
Forgot for a moment that the Victorians had crotchless undies.
Sometimes this book gets too modern with the horny.
Not the word pelt.
4 stars how fun how positive.
Not all Vincents 😂
Is pelt some staple of the Victorian genre that I don’t know about because I do not like it.
Then you would have to return your body as a baby. That makes no sense. Also, tell that to circumcision.
It’s giving Pretty Woman.
OK but like why are they so cute together?
I can’t even imagine how badly that would hurt.
Prevaricate is a juicy little word.
That’s a cheesy, cheesy line.
Why are we still perpetuating the virginity hurts myth?
4 stars. The ending really spoiled it for me.
I am so afraid of this story omg.
Sweet baby jesus, ~no.~
Not a cat girl too omfg.
There is no way they’re trying to pass this off as a healthy coping mechanism. Go to therapy.
I’ve always liked the word churlish.
The kink family inheritance lol.
I don’t know what to do with this one because arguably it’s well written for what it is, but also it’s so horrifying that I can’t deal with it, and it’s not healthy, and I will yuck this particular kink. I think it’s bad. 2 stars.
You know just when I thought it couldn’t get weirder… This one’s kind of harmless, but it’s fucking weird.
I also weirdly like the sound of hair being cut. It’s just satisfyingly crisp, like biting into an apple.
Sometimes the language goes modern and it’s very disorienting and confusing.
FONDUE.
Again, super weird, but if you have this particular kink, it’s well-written. 2 stars.
This one is very insta-love.
Feminist. I dig it. 3 stars.
Oh ew to the emotionally abusive passive aggression.
I’m so toxic and horrible that my immediate reaction to such a thing was make me 😂
Mmm, we’re dipping into the unhealthy. Please don’t crave humiliation. Have some self-respect. Go to therapy for your poor self-image. Not this.
Okay, but he’s coming across as emotionally intelligent. And ~that’s~ attractive, not the authority.
Too modern, c’mon now.
See this I vibe with because it’s not sadism and pain for the sake of pain. The other side though…Buddy, what are you doing? Just go to therapy. This is basically controlled self-harm.
Oh look, literally addressing sadism and how this is not that because that’s not healthy.
Hot. You can’t deadpan like that at me sir.
Oopsies, now I’m just nervous laughing-hoT.
Why is that a bad thing though? Want something else. That’s great. I don’t think wants are punishable. Inaction maybe. But trying and failing shouldn’t be punished.
Why is he so healthy? Where’s his toxic?
Why am I like aw, this is cute right now? This is not supposed to be cute, but like goddamn, it’s really cute. I really like them.
Oh sinning. This one is sinning.
So sassy, I love it.
I don’t want it to be over. 5 stars. I’m sweating.
Oh, not a pick me sad boy. How are you going from Lucas to thissss?
But like the dowager is right. That’s how you get power.
I just fundamentally do not understand this kink. 2 stars.
I wish they would play together as well. 4 stars.
I think they are adorable, and it’s not my taste, but it’s so well written. 5 stars.
Humans are so weird with what they want to fuck.
Again super weird, but well written. 4 stars.
Post-reading: Another very odd book to review. Because it’s definitely not a book for everybody. I feel like you need some kind of morbid fascination with the perverse to truly enjoy the book. If you don’t have these fetishes, the scenes can be bonkers and frankly a little uncomfortable, but it’s like a car crash you can’t look away from. The stories are well written. They just are. It’s pretty impressive that one person can write with such authority and in depth on such a breadth of different mindsets to the point that it’s completely believable. I don’t think you can read this book and doubt that the characters represent their particular fetishes, and all the stories are handled with such empathy. The author was very responsible for putting trigger warnings ahead of the stories, and in such a way that you can go in blind to the plot of the scenes while still being informed about what in the hell you’re about to read. I don’t know, honestly, recommend to my fellow perverts, especially for the Paddle story. Would personally skip and take out the Horse one. You’ve been warned lol.
(Also, I hate books written by anonymous. How am I supposed to read more of your work now if I enjoy it?)
Who should read this: Erotica fans Short story fans
Do I want to reread this: Maybe? Just the one though 👀
Similar books: * The Godwicks Series by Tiffany Reisz-short story esque role play scenes with an overarching romance. * Neon Gods by Katee Robert-exhibitionism horny book with a romance * Best Women’s Erotica of the Year, Volume 8 by Rachel Kramer Bussel-short story collection of erotica
There is something for everyone in this omnibus. I really appreciated the historical fiction aspect of each story. I think having the stories set in an era of society that was very rigid and proper made the acts being performed way more taboo. It added something extra to the kink aspects. A few of my favorites involved hair braiding and hair cutting in the Swiss Alps. I thought this one was really interesting and explored a dynamic that I don't often see played out in other books with similar content. Another standout was the story about the widow who owned the tea room. I have read books with corporal punishment, however this was so much more than just something sexual. It explored the emotional release that one can have in these taboo acts. It depicted fetishism in a light far more than the primal lustful actions but also the deeper mental implications.
I would recommend this book to readers who like things that are a little spicier than your average romance book. This is definitely well written erotica. Key would is Erotica, yet it is beautiful written and the stories have depth and substance outside of the erotic scenes. I advise you to read the trigger warning for each of the individual stories in the book.
All and all not only was this book entertaining and blood pumping . It was also informative, shedding light on topics and getting a deeper look into the inner workings of those fetishes discussed. Best part is you don't have to read in order you can jump around and enjoy whatever tickles your fancy.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Fetish is a fantastic collection of Victorian short stories about unique and not-much-discussed fetishes that range from tame - controversial - fascinating - complex. It consists of ten short stories that will entice, enchant and amaze the vastness of this topic.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Fetish! I was already fascinated by the title and cover, but I got even more excited as I started reading the book. It was beyond my expectations and more! The writing is solid and will keep readers glued to the pages. I savored the stories, which is why it took me a bit of time to finish because I would have devoured this book in one sitting! My favorites are The Point of No Return and Temptress with a Teapot. The former is due to the excruciatingly lovely slow-burn pace and relationship-building. At the same time, the latter is because of the respect and further revelations both partners show towards each other, even with their "unique set-up."
Ten titles are:- A Neighboring Hand The Point of No Return Horsing Around How Do You Do Your Do? How Stimulating The Paddle, Pretty Please? Make A Scene Temptress with a Teapot That Tickles The Rubber Match
FETISH is a steamy collection of mini-historical romances around the theme of fetishes. Each story is about 5-6 chapters and follows a new couple as they explore their fetishes in the late 1800s. They each felt very different and the topics were varied between them. There was something for everyone between them, and each story began with content warnings to give you a preview of the content so that readers can select which stories they want to delve into.
I particularly enjoyed THAT TICKLES, but there are so many that it feels like there is something for everybody. THAT TICKLES follows a bricklayer and builder who meet when Darby, the bricklayer comes to Gavin, the builder, for work. As they get to know each other, they explore the pleasure that Gavin gets from light touches. It is a steamy read that builds their relationship in only a few chapters. Other stories explore different types of fetishes in short compelling historical romances.
Overall, FETISH is a steamy collection of short historical romance reads with a little something for everyone. Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.
Victorian era? Check. Romance? Check. Ridiculously hot and comfort level busting bumchicawawa? You freaking betcha!
I thought Aphrodite in Bloom was full of sensual surprises, well folks... Fetish not only topped the smuttastic cake but it frosted that sucker in sultry and laid down the law on kinky.
Fetish is the second collection of erotic stories by Anonymous. Each one begins with a mention of any trigger warnings or content mentions for the reader to decide if they want to venture further. Each plot, character and even desire is wholly unique to each romantic tale. This is not the Victorian romance you're used too. At all.
I personally found something to love in each one. Whether it was the connection, the eroticism or the self discovery themes, there was truly something to appreciate. It may push the comfort level for some or entice for others but either way this is a high recommend from me to my very erotic loving readers. Releases tomorrow!!! Mark those calendars!
Thank you Entangled Publishing for the gifted copy! A collection I'll continue to revisit for sure! True rating 4.5/5.
This book had me at erotic novellas set during the Victorian period. This collection features ten short reads that definitely raise eyebrows and body temperatures. It will push the limits of what makes you comfortable in a spicy read, so if you are into that, this omnibus is a must-pick for you.
All of the novellas have great development when it comes to the chemistry among their main characters. The author makes the most out of a few chapters to create a sizzling bond that ignites into spicy moments.

What an interesting collection of short stories. I still see below some of them. I really enjoyed and some of them as you can see, and some I did not. All of these were historical/victorian romances, which typically isn’t a normal genre I read. However, I read the first anthology from last year and I really enjoyed it so I figured why not give this one a try as well. If you enjoy historical romances and erotic romance I think this would be a great fit for you! There’s definitely a little something for everyone!

Fetish is a collection of erotic stories set in the victorian age about various people with their various fetishes. The book was well written and the stories were interesting, as well as very smutty.
What you enjoy in erotica is obviosuly very subjective. What I enjoy will not be in everyone's tastes – and vice versa. Thankfully, the stories are complete standalones so I just skipped the few ones I felt a bit iffy about. Perhaps I'll be in the mood for them in the future!
There were a few odd things, like the words used to describe genitals switching mid-scene and a few personal problems I have with some of the stories, which is why I've given Fetish 3 out of 5 stars. It's worth picking up if you're ever in the mood for a smutty short story!
(Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the eARC!)
This was an interesting book, the 10 stories are all based on a Fetish (like using balloons during sex), some of the stories were very good, others not so much, I think this book would be best if you read one story at a time and not like I did, one after the other. Not all stories worked for me, though that may just be a personal preference than the story itself, one in particular that involved piecing intimate parts of the body had me cringing at the descriptions of piercing of one body part. All the stories were written very well and all involved consensual acts, but some of the acts involved spanking and beating with a cane, the person on the receiving end enjoyed this but I found it a bit disturbing. Overall I enjoyed all the stories and that all the people involved were in love with each other and what they were doing. Thanks to #Netgalley and #Entangled Publishing for the ARC.
Honestly, this book is so difficult to write a review on. It is a collection of 10 short stories.
I will be the first to say that if you are reading Smut or erotica, you should (hopefully) be in the mindset in which you do not kink shame.
With that being said, there are definitely stories in this collection that were more difficult for me to get into than others. That is what makes it so difficult to review.
What I do you think the author did very well is the writing itself. Each story was the perfect blend of characterization and smut. There were some stories that I genuinely felt for the characters involved, and to me that just indicates good writing.
My favorite stories in the collection were : A Neighboring Hand The Paddle, Pretty Please Make a Scene
Whether or not, I could relate to any of these, at the very least, I enjoyed the characters in the stories.
Fetish is a unique compilation of erotic Victorian era stories that is definitely more of a niche read. To me, the writing felt uneven, and there were times where I questioned whether or not some of the stories came too close to appropriation rather than appreciation.
I did appreciate the individual trigger warnings for each story, and the ways in which the author normalizes and celebrates various proclivities and puts them in a historical context. For that, they should definitely be applauded.
At the end of the day, this wasn’t the book for me, but I appreciate what the author was trying to accomplish and communicate.
Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
I loved this. I devoured it!!! I love a short story that examines new or different kinks/fetishes and this anthology did this with such care even explaining the trigger warnings was handled in such a loving and caring way that I knew instantly I’d be in good hands throughout. I loved the historical aspect of the book and how all the relationships were handled.
Some of the kinks were super intense some a more playful side and each was handled so well and so fairly.
Also this was HOT! While not all the of the subjects were ones I identify with I loved all of the stories and would love to read more stories!
I wasn’t a fan of this anthology, I’m afraid. The stories were all set in the Victorian era, and while it was supposed to be a scandalous collection, I felt like it was pretty typical for the genre. The writing was fine, I just didn’t really love any of the stories or give them any thought once I had finished them. Sometimes the entire point of erotic fiction seems to be titillation and sex. I prefer there to be more heart to the stories. This anthology certainly didn’t “shatter expectations, defy every convention” and it definitely didn’t “awaken the lust inside” me as the blurb promised. It’s a forgettable read.
I have mixed feelings about this collection of erotic stories. There were some I enjoyed and some I didn’t. One thing that was absolutely fabulously done was that for each different story before it began there was a tiny synopsis along with trigger warnings. This is rarely done in books but should be done more often! Also it gives the reader a chance to pick and choose which stories they want to read because there hasn’t been an omnibus yet where I enjoyed every story. The stories are of course steamy as all get out with varied but well developed characters as well as fetishes. Thank you to Entangled Publishing for the gifted copy.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for sending me an e-ARC of this book to read and review. These short stories are fun and I like how compact they are. It makes it kind of fun to jump back and forth if I'm in the mood for one over the other. I like the historical setting and how each story ended up focusing on a different fetish. It was definitely spicy which was fun, but some of the stories really weren't for me. This is quick though and can be a nice change of pace if you need something spicy.
