This is a novel where I loved the whole journey more than the ending. The whole story is full of mysteries and speculations, which made the plot so intriguing and so engaging. You'll be guessing who's the mastermind behind everything, what really happened in the past and what strong motivation the group of antagonists have that pushed them to start the chaos. You'll be slowly uncovering all the secrets along with the MC and ML and this is what makes the plot so fascinating.
Both the MC and ML are powerful in their own right, as Yun Yifeng being the sect master of Feng Yu Sect and Ji Yanran being the Imperial Prince and the youngest general that guarded the border, both having high martial arts skills and also both clever. But they are not exactly overpowered characters either. They actually are a few steps behind the antagonists most of the time, and it makes them more realistic that way.
The first two arcs are like a detective style, murder solving set up, which is really fascinating. But the more they solve the cases, the more they discovered that everything is converging into something from the past, and that's where the involvement of the imperial court, the Jianghu and even the MC's true birth origin started.
A stolen artifact and the MC's hope of finding a very rare medicinal herd that could potentially cure the deadly poison inside his body, these are what makes the MC and ML find each other. The relationship between the two started from gaining benefits with each other's help to a deep-seated love. I loved that the progression of their interaction felt so smooth and natural. All the little things the ML did for the MC were done as if it were the most natural thing in the world and the tacit understanding between them is unparalleled. I absolutely loved the relationship between them.
Though the actual conclusion of the final battle is a bit underwhelming for me, it surely tied all the loose ends properly. The reveals are mixed of expected and unexpected which makes the ending feel more balanced. Having an underwhelming ending didn't mean that this is not worthy because as I said, the whole journey is so much fun. This novel is actually really good overall. It's just that after all the build up, the way the conclusion of the battle dropped is not as satisfying as I want it to be. But then, the story isn't only define with its ending, so I would not rate this novel lower than this just because of the underwhelming ending confrontation.
Still highly recommended because of the mysteries, the overall plot, the couple's interactions and all the interesting and likeable side characters.

I'm really enjoying this webtoon but it tends to get really slow which sometimes kills my whole enjoyment. But the mains' chemistry is superior

This made me go through every emotion!!! At times the military and political mysteries seemed like too much but it was so very entertaining. I think the biggest detriment for me was how the whole blood ganoderma lucidum problem was resolved. It seemed so sudden and out of nowhere, but then the rest of the novel made up for it.
The characters were lovable and I cried so much for Jiang lingfei! I had to play bigger than the whole sky for his funeral but then!!!!! He's apparently alive?!? Rollercoaster right there. Loved the romance and this one might be worth a reread at some point.

Nhất kiếm sương hàn, dài dòng vô cùng, đọc không muốn nổi luôn, quá trình yêu nhau cũng nhanh gọn lẹ, âm mưu thì trùng điệp rồi nhưng không quá xuất sắc, cho 4 sao là vì plot kín thôi, đọc lại thì sẽ không.
