Virgin mountain man Hero!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😚☹️😉🥰
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Jenna - she is a photographer, who is happy to be decorating her home in Whiskey River Montana. She thinks she found the most beautiful small town and a great place to build a family. She is alone for the first time in her life and loves the fact that she can decorate with her own choices of locally made handmade items. This is the first time she can make her own decisions and build a life, make her own friends and not have to look over her shoulder as much as she had in the past.

The Hero: Phoenix - he is a mountain man, who has zero experience with women. He didn’t make friends easily as a kid, his prom date backed out on him when a better offer came along and his one and only kiss was a dare. The other mountain men, including Axel from the first book in this series, Bennett, and Cash, are really his only friends, along with Emelie, Axel’s wife and Jack the store owner where all the men sell their stuff.

The Story: Jenna meets Phoenix at the furniture store, when she sees a coffee table that she likes and wants a similarly made dining table. The store owner introduces her to Phoenix who makes all the furniture for the store. She makes an appointment to go to his workshop and see the dining room table he is currently working on.

I have to say, I am not at all fond of books where the Hero is a virgin. I like an experienced man, even if he is a shy one. Phoenix was so unsure of himself when it comes to Jenna. Though I did like the fact that he was so enamored of her and kept thinking she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. So I did end up liking this one, though I wish he hadn’t been a virgin Hero.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Lacie Glennox and Walker Williams. Lacie Glennox has a deep gravelly voice for a woman, which I don’t really like, though she sounds very natural, not like she is reading so that is a plus. Walker Williams has a nice soft accent, a bit southern, but not totally and he has a great voice, which I really enjoyed.

Phoenix! I loved this mountain man with my whole heart. His and Jenna's story is so sweet and heartfelt. I loved how their relationship develop and grow. It's an instant attraction between them but they take it slow and properly develop their relationship before moving further. I loved that about that story. Especially because Phoenix is a virgin and can be a little bit shy. And I loved how Phoenix or Jenna would go and ask for advice from his friends about having a relationship. I think it's so sweet. I can't wait for Cash's story next.

This wasn’t good. I liked the first book in this series, so when this book fell flat I was disappointed. There were inconsistencies, like when the h planned dinner in town with the h from the previous book and the H from the previous book would drive them. But in the next chapter this became dinner at the h and H’s house which he cooked and ate with them. This is not ok! Why did no one pick this up? Then the random POV chapters of the h from the previous book. Why? This only confused me. The timeline was bad as well. Both MC’s were having dinner and getting cozy in one chapter, so you think.. where will this lead to? I tell ya, to nothing! The next chapter is the next day with the H in store in town. What? Then going back in time in the next chapter with the POV of (again!) the h of the previous book. This book wasn’t a fun read. Then the author made the H not a manwhore but a virgin. Halleluja! Finally we’re getting somewhere to spice the rating up. But then the author decided it was a good idea to write the chapter with their first sex scene (aka first time sex ever for the H!) in the h’s POV. Whyyyyyyy????? Why couldn’t she at least give us the H’s experience in that chapter?? This author didn’t do anything right in this book. She really spoiled Phoenix’s book for me. Bummer!

Safe. Hero virgin. Heroine not a virgin, was engaged before. No cheating, drama or sex OP.

This was a cute second addition to this series. Jenna and Phoenix had cute moments and I thought they were a good match for other. What made my rating come down was that it kind of felt a little slow with a lot of their wood adventures. I’m excited about the next book because Cash deserves some happiness in his life!

*I read an ARC for an honest review.

Still cute

While Axel is the Mountain that has my heart Phoenix is now my 2nd. This one was cute and had more drama and story behind both characters and of course the heartache that is just life. Overall still cute though.

heads up - this review may contain spoilers!!

GENRE: contemporary romance
TROPES: virgin hero // friends to lovers // insta infatuation at first sight 😅
POV: multiple
CLIFFHANGER: no
HEA: yes

I read about Axel and Emelie before reading this and let me just tell you, I didn't know how much I needed mountain men in my life until this series. They're broody, territorial, caring and sweet. They look after their women and their friends.

The story starts with Jenna, a photographer, moving out to the small town of Whiskey River to get away from her controlling parents and ex-fiancé, Chad 👏👏👏👏👏👏 . She meets Phoenix because she needs some furniture for her house and he just so happens to make furniture at his home with his bare hands. HOW PERFECT FOR THEM.

The way their relationship develops is just the cutest. She wants to take pictures for work, he wants to build her a dining room table, they explore his land together. All while slowly bonding 🥰🥰 so, I would say this story is more of a slow-ish burn romance.

No, I know I won't ever be the same, but it's not because of the mountain. It's because of this mountain man.

I said this in my last review about the mountain men - these books are just very easy to read. There's of course drama and some miscommunication, but not enough to annoy me 😂 sometimes I just need simple.

I loved book one and two annnnd I can't wait for Bennett's book, BUT I am the most excited for Cash's story. just the most thrilled ever 🤭

Phoenix lives his life off the grid out in the woods just like his buddies while providing for only himself and he has always been perfectly fine on his own, until the day he meets Jenna. Jenna left her life of luxury because it was tainted by people who only used her for her family’s money and the family that is suppose to support and love you only care about their stature. She is now out to prove she can live her life they way she wants with no influence of her past and when she meets Phoenix something immediately clicks in place for them. Phoenix has never felt this way for anyone let alone so intensely, but the draw to Jenna is too strong yet in the back of his mind he still worries she will regret leaving her lifestyle and want to run back. Jenna has no intentions to return to the way things were, but she has to show Phoenix she is all in yet when her past continues to surprise her will Phoenix stand by her or let her go to make her own choices? This series has been so much fun to read, with passion, loving the life you live, and strength in friends. I can’t wait for more especially Cash because I know his story will be emotional.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Phoenix and Jenna. The author brings another great book to the series and does a great job developing the story as well as the relationship. She adds in drama and steam and paints her scenes perfectly, moving the story fluidly and delivering an entertaining story.

2nd book of elusive mountain men finding their happily ever afters. Phoenix is a private person suffered a sad lost of this parents at a young age. Not wanting to be surrounded by people he bought property up in the mountains to live by himself. But, he meets Jenna who moves by his property. She is needing some furniture and likes his craftsmanship she seeks him out. But, what she doesn't know is that he is attracted to her but doesn't know how to properly talk to her. So, Mallory who is Axel's wife and one of Phoenix's best friends wife. She wants to help him along with the other friends of Axel. Well, this is Phoenix's new created family that he can rely on for support. Anyways, I loved reading these two story. They seem to be different but they are not. Not all books should be judged by their covers. They are both from wealthy families, but want nothing to do with them. They both want to survive by their own work and money and hopefully find true love to build their lives with.

Jenna (h) has left her old life behind to start over in Whiskey River. Phoenix (H) is a woodcarver who values his privacy and prefers to live an isolated life on his land in Whiskey River. The two meet and a relationship begins to develop between the two, even as they maintain secrets about their pasts that impacts their future together. The physical attraction between the two develops at a somewhat slower pace, but feels right as their relationship progresses. Fun to see past characters back in this second book in the series.

Such a good read! I loved that Jenna was so into Phoenix. Right from the start that awkward tension was there and it was adorable to see. Phoenix alone was just so awkward but in an enduring way. There was some mystery surrounding him and as the story goes on we uncover more and more about who he is. Jenna felt more like an open book and I loved that. The overall story was great, the connection these two had was beautiful and I devoured this book. 4 stars #2OCCJD

I already used the term gentle giant to describe Axel in book 1, but that’s the best way to describe Phoenix too. He’s so sweet, caring, and attentive. He’s a true alpha male: huge, loyal, protective, and strong. His feelings for Jenna are so endearing. But when he brings the heat, boy does he bring the heat! Jenna is a sweet girl who’s not quite sure where she fits in life. Her stay with Phoenix in his mountain cabin teaches her more about herself than she’s ever known and opens more possibilities for goals and the future. Their relationship is a delicious slow burn full of many heartfelt moments. I loved everything about this story.

Lacie Glennox and Walker Williams were perfectly cast for their roles. Their timing, pitch, pace, and tones were great. The story is told from both POVs, and their narration styles were perfect for that. Their characterizations were spot on. They gave each character definition and appeal. Their narration made this story even more enjoyable. Thank you to PFP for gifting me this exciting audiobook in exchange for an honest review

Take Me To The Cabin by Kaci Rose is a billionaire mountain man romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lacie Glennox and Walker Williams. This is the second book in the Mountain Men Of Whiskey River series.

This is the second book of Kaci's that I have read, and it won't be my last. The relationship between Jenna and Phoenix is fast paced but I loved them together. I really enjoyed getting Jenna, Phoenix, and Emily's points of view throughout the book.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Take Me To The Lake to be released on audio so I can get Cash and Hope's story.

Walker and Lacie did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like instant connection romances, mountain man romances, or contemporary romance.

This book I enjoyed reading since it was about two characters that meet at one shop and the other decided to leave the city since she was cheated on and left behind and so to go find herself and what she wants for her life. Pheonix and Jenna are adorable couples and it wasn't like love, at first sight, it was more a slow-burn grow romance but it was a good one and i totally didn't assume that her ex was abusive and wanted her for himself. But i won't say anything since you gotta find out yourself but overall great book.

Enjoyable read with both characters and their chemistry. Jenna’s move to a small town away from her ex fiancé and parents, gives her a fresh start, as she shops for her new place she meets Phoenix. He’s a bit closed off in the beginning but as he gets to know Jenna, he comes out of his shell. A good read to find out how their relationship will workout with Jenna’s ex and parents in the way of her new start. .

Quickie review: I absolutely flew through Phoenix and Jenna’s book. They owned me the entire read with their precious, sweet souls. And while their romance was different than most of the books I have read recently, it was done to perfection nonetheless. Bonus points because we got a couple chapters in Emelie’s POV. And it made me love this author so much more for adding it. I am immediately starting the next one now! 5 Stars!

A bit better

This book was a tad bit better than ‘Take Me to the River’.

This book’s characters have the same issues as the first but not as bad. And the fighting and it’s following make up, made me roll my eyes.

Otherwise it’s not too bad for a short story.

Phoenix and Jenna . . .

Jenna has been forced to run from a life she doesn’t want for herself. She was being pressured to marry someone against her will. Her parents are extremely controlling. So she ran to hide out in the tiny mountain town of Whiskey River. She meets a shy mountain man who sells handmade wooden furniture. He is uncomfortable around many people and just wants life to be uncomplicated.

With Jenna being a photographer, her love of nature coincides nicely with his. Will their shared love of the mountains, the peacefulness, and nature bring them both together? Is it too soon to fall in love?

Loved this audiobook. Lacie & Walker are perfect as Jenna & Phoenix. He projects just the right amount of reserve and intrigue with Jenna. And absolutely brings the heat when it’s smexy time🔥

I love that the mountain has become a refuge for both Jenna & Phoenix. The place that saved them both has brought them their happily ever after.

This was my first book in the series and I am hooked🖤 Can’t wait to listen to the rest of their stories.

A feel-good romance with some heat
Audiobook version: 5 stars overall, 5 stars story, 5 stars narration

Kaci Rose has delivered another marvelous contemporary romance in her second book of the Whiskey River Mountain Men series, “Take Me to the Cabin”. Finally we have a contemporary romance with a mountain man that is low angst but still steamy with good relationship development. The hero, Phoenix, is very respectful to women and is a virgin. The heroine Jenna is a photographer who wants a fresh start away from her rich, controlling family and their superficial lifestyle in Denver. Although this romance is somewhat short (4.75 hours), the story feels complete and satisfying. The few love scenes are moderately steamy and excellent. I love that the obstacles to love were easily overcome.
The book is told in alternating chapters from the perspectives of Phoenix and Jenna, along with a few chapters from Emelie, the heroine from Book #1. It was great catching up with Emelie and her husband Axel’s continuing romantic life together.
Each book has a different couple, and each of the guys are long-time friends who live off the land on a mountain in Montana. I love that the author is well-versed in the details of self-sufficient living in remote areas. There is a little bit of deer-hunting in the book, in case any prospective reader doesn’t like that.
The pair of narrators were absolutely superb. The narrators, Walker Williams and Lacie Glennox, both have beautiful and versatile voices. Their character voices matched really well, and they both made the heroine’s voice sound melodious and pretty and the hero’s voice sound rugged and sexy. Their pacing and emoting were perfect. I look forward to hearing more from these two excellent narrators in the future.

This is book number 2 in the Mountain Men of Whiskey River series and focuses on Phoenix and Jenna. Jenna is new to Whiskey River after leaving her old life behind. She grew up with wealth but hated everything about that life. When she left her ex fiancé and her controlling family behind, she was determined to build a life she would be happy with and could thrive in rather than constantly feeling like she was trapped and miserable. While trying to get her cabin all set up, she meets Phoenix. Phoenix also comes from a wealthy background but instead prefers to live a simple life alone in the mountains since the death of his parents. When they meet, there is an instant attraction and connection between the two of them but they take their time to get to know each other before getting together. When the life that Jenna is desperately trying to get away from keeps popping back up, it leads to Phoenix pushing her away and breaking both of their hearts but thankfully they have some great friends that help them. I cannot express how much I am loving everything about this series so far. The sense of family between Phoenix’s friends is so amazing and I love that no questions asked they have their chosen family there to back them up and support them while they are down and while they are thriving. Seeing that sense of loyalty and support is truly amazing to see. I cannot wait to see what Cash’s story has in store for us next. The last two books of the series have been nothing short of amazing so I just know that we are in for a real treat with the next 2 books. This was a perfect addition to the series for sure.
