After reading ''Matteo'' I will be honest and say there weren’t any high hopes for the rest of the series. I just assumed it would all be just okay but this book…..

It was amazing. I seriously feel like this should have been the series opener!

We meet Killian in Matteo's book, and he requests a truce by asking for the best hacker and he reveals it's Bas's younger sister. That's all we get from that so imagine the absolute SHOCK when you read this book and realize Killian and Greer have been in a secret relationship for years (though they were separated for a year prior to the events of this book).

Killian's level of commitment to his girl is unmatched. His only thought, kindness and care all belong to her. He breathes and worships her every day, even when they were apart.

Asking for her assistance is his way of getting her back into his life and being able to somehow get her to be with him again after she left him because of the impossible situation they were both in. Coming from opposing families (Irish and Italians) and how a marriage would never be accepted.

I loved them together and I also loved them as individual characters. There was a level of devotion they each had for each other and your heart breaks when you are reading about their past and their struggles to be together without facing the consequences.

Greer pushes a lot more than Killian ever does. He is all in and is willing to go to war for her, but she is the one who wants a life outside of the mafia.

This is such a fantastic book with so many great moments outside of their romance that just works just as well.

Killian has jumped up in my favorite MMCs in a long time. This is the type of MMC I love to read about and think we need more of.

Killian is the second book in The Syndicates series and features Killian and Greer. These two have a serious Romeo/Juliet romance happening and it was deliciously angsty and sexy. Killian is the head of the Irish mob in New York and Greer is the youngest sister of Bash, the Italian mafia Don. Both from the same world but not from the same side.

From the moment these two meet, their chemistry is undeniable and like moths to a flame, they keep coming back to each other. Their secret love affair has so much stacked against it and Greer is convinced they are doomed to burn to ashes if anyone finds out.

Killian is a little more optimistic and uses his wit and intelligence to move pieces like a chess board to finally put Greer close to him. With Greer using her hacker abilities to help Killian find a mole, these two get even closer and there may be a HEA for them in the future after all.

This was such a great story. Killian was full of twists and turns, revelations, and steamy goodness. Killian was demanding and possessive but let Greer shine outside of the bedroom as an equal. Inside the bedroom…well…Killian was in charge and it was spicyyyy.

“It is and will always be your choice. You feel like I’m not a choice because of your brother. I’m trying to make myself a possibility. It’s up to you if you choose to grab that possibility.”

Greer was strong, tenacious, and incredibly intelligent and knew what she wanted out of life. She refused to be reduced to a stereotype and had no problem standing on her own two feet. I loved how she pushed all of Killian’s buttons and how Killian knew exactly what Greer needed. All. The. Time. I loved the way they leaned on each other and stood shoulder to shoulder through everything. Their relationship was built on mutual trust and adoration and it was such a wonderful thing to read.

“Are you trying to woo me, Killian O’Reilly?” she teases with a twinkle in her eye. “You’re mine, I’m just waiting for you to catch up.”

Cala Riley has written such an awesome series and I'm obsessed with the alpha male heroes and sassy strong heroines that are in these stories. If you haven't already, you definitely have to check these out because the plots are entertaining and the romance is *chef's kiss.*

Killian is the second book in Syndicate series by Cala Riley. It is a standalone, but best read after Matteo. The series is also related to her Mafia Royalty series. Killian is a fantastic Romeo/Juliet type romance with Killian the head of the Westies, the Irish mob, in New York and Greer, the youngest sister of the Italian mafia don. They met three years ago and basically have been having a secret, on again/off again romance that they both believe is destined to fail. When Killian sees a chance to pull Greer closer without inciting the wrath of her brother, he takes it, hoping there may be a path for them after all.

What a wonderful read! The storyline is definitely on the more original side. The Romeo/Juliet theme with the fact that they’ve already been in a relationship for three years was brilliant. Definitely not the same old forbidden romance trope. There are a ton of twists and turns and a little mystery to solve that keeps you guessing who the target is until the end. Greer was just a fantastic and complex character! She’s a strong and sassy. A hacker and a woman who wants to forge her own way and is sick of them men in her life trying to tell her what to do. She loves Killian, she loves her family, but she won’t compromise on being *that* kind of person. “I don’t want to be the Irishman’s wife. The woman meant to stay at home and raise the babies while you are out there getting your hands dirty for a family who will always come before me. I won’t be my mother”. Ugh. Totally feel her. Killian is her perfect match. Strong, possessive, and demanding, but he knows her worth and doesn’t want to put her in the box of which she’s so terrified. He wants to be the person she can depend on, lean on, when she needs a little extra strength. The chemistry between them is off the chain through out the whole book. They just can’t stay away, no matter how much they try. Loved the book - can’t wait till the next one!

The Romeo and Juliet trope is not a favorite of mine, I tend to try to stay away from it honestly, but this was still an enjoyable book.
I liked Killian and Greer together. Their relationship was sexy and fun, but I didn’t love that Greer continually denied their relationship. I understood why, and I get that it was part of the plot, but it wasn’t my favorite.
Which brings me to my least favorite part of the story. It felt like we started in the middle of their story. Maybe if I had read the first book of the series it would’ve felt different, but I’m not a big fan of when the story starts out with the couple already together.
🤷🏻‍♀️
I still really enjoyed the book.
It just wasn’t a fave.

Hopefully the next book is even better.

Killian was everything I hoped it would be and more. I've been waiting for this book for over a year and Cala and Riley did not disappoint me.

Killian makes his first appearance in the Mafia Royalty series and leaves a last impression. There is just something about this sexy Irish man that had me needing more of him. Greer is Bash's younger sister. If you don't know who he is read Mafia King. But he's the head of the Italian Mafia and someone you don't want to mess with unless your Killian O'reilly.

Killian is an age gap. forbidden, mafia romance that checks all my boxes. Swoony, alpha hero, sassy heroine, steamy, violence, angst, and amazing writing.

Killian and Greer have this undeniable and fierce connection. They are like two magnets. When they are anywhere near each other they are just drawn to each other. They have this amazing push/pull relationship. Killian pulls and Greer pushes but not because she doesn't want Killian but because she doesn't want Bash to kill him. The love that these two have for each other is just amazing. While these two authors always deliver a fierce love story Killian and Greer just have a different level.

Greer is the much younger sister of Bash. He shipped her to Italy when things happened and she's been there ever since. Their relationship is strained and hard. She never truly understood why Bash couldn't love her. But Greer comes with her own set of secrets.

Killian is the head of the Westies. He's exactly what you would expect from someone in his position, confident, sexy. lethal, irresistible, and sweet and loyal to Greer.

I cried while reading Killian. I love these two so much I couldn't help it. I felt the pain they were feeling in my soul. For me this is the sign of a good book. If you can make me feel the character's pain.

Killian did not disappoint. It is my favorite Mafia book to date and is trying to overtake Mayhem as my favorite Cala Riley book. But don't worry I still love all my other CR books. There are just more to love now.

If you're unsure about the Mafia trope, read Killian. If you love the Mafia trope, read Killian. Basically you NEED to read Killian. Cala and Riley will not leave you disappointed.

My gosh I seriously LOVED this story & was quite out of sorts when I finished it too quickly because I craved more. Killian is part of the Irish Mafia, and can be a scary dude if you push him. Greer is the younger sister of the head of the Italian Mafia, and to say she has a complicated relationship with her family is almost too simple with some of the past actions taken with no explanation. Killian loves Greer, as they have met before & even had quite the affair since their chemistry is crazy potent, and now he's come up with a plan to get her closer to him again. She's certainly an independent, full of sass type of heroine that I absolutely loved as she'll go toe to toe with anyone at the end of the day, so she's the flight risk in all of this because of what she thinks her brother would do despite going to battle with said brother. There are twists coming in hot, action to get the heart racing, heat in spades, a sexy hero & feisty heroine so a good time was had by all. I'm telling you, if you have any interest in mafia romance, Killian is the perfect read for you! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

i wanted to like it, i truly did..
i tried for over 50% then, i skipped to 75% and then i just DFN it.
but i couldn't get over the fact that we jumped right into the story...
i wanted to have complete past chapters of them before, not only glimpses here and there!
i felt left out, i was so pissed about it to be honest, i couldn't connect with them.
We jumped right into it of them loving each others, well i needed to fall in love with them too you know... :(
those little glimpses of their past weren't enough and honestly it left out a lot of questions i had of them as a couple, i can't invest in them without a proper build up.

Other than this major problem, they were good together.

I did not read the first book in the series prior to reading this so I have no idea if these characters are introduced to each other in there BUT if more second chance romances were like this then I’d consider reading them more often. The back and forth between the past and present was done right. God damn the chemistry in this was intense.

Quick read! This story throws you right into a love affair between the Irish and Italian mobs, and it takes a second to suss out what’s going on. Killian is clearly head over heels in love with Greer and she is pushing him away basically the whole book, gives good angst! The sibling relationship building between Bash and Greer is great! And the curveball towards the end and how selfless Killian is made me emotional!! Overall a decent read for a Sunday afternoon!

I think my heart is going to explode over how much I love Killian and Greer’s story.
This is truly a romance of reminiscent of the tale of Romeo and Juliet (without the heartbreaking ending) and I ate up every single word.
Greer is the little sister to the head of the Italian mafia (Bash/Bastiano). She is smart hacker, strong willed, brave and I adore her. Her wit is goals!
Killian is the head of the Westies (Irish mafia). This man made me melt with how loving he is, but make him mad or betray him and he will not hesitate to let his dark side take over.
When these two come together, it’s an explosion of chemistry and love. I adore how Killian goes above and beyond to respect Greer, while at the same time doesn’t let her forget he expects the same in return….and this man has the patience of a saint while Greer works thru what is holding her back. Greer is so passionate and loyal - her being torn almost tore me in two.
I loved all the twists and turns and how Cala Riley made Greer a little more involved with the “family”. Add in the perfect amount of steam, action and suspense (without being extremely dark) that kept me on the edge of my seat and devouring this in one day.
One of my favorite things is how this duo of talented authors effortlessly overlapped characters from previous books (that I, now, have on my TBR) while making it perfectly suitable to be read as a stand-alone. I can’t wait to dive into the next one to see where they take me next.

In this book, we meet Killian and Greer. Killian is the head of the Irish Mafia in New York, and Greer is the sister of the New York Italian mafia DON. They are star-crossed lovers who are destined never to find happiness together...

This story would have worked if it were the second book in a duet. We are introduced to the main characters, who are already in love. They already know each other; they have known each other and have been lovers for years. So, there is no character building, and no relationship building. We are just dropped smack dab in the middle of this ongoing story. Because of that, I didn't feel any connection with either of these people.

I didn't care about their love story because I didn't know about their love story; it had already happened before this book took place.

The constant flashbacks of the past were annoying, and they didn't add anything worthwhile to the story.

Every time I read a Cala and Riley book, I am always impressed with their ability to produce a page-turning, can’t put down must-read. I devoured Killian and Greer's story in one sitting, once I started the engrossing story of this uniques couple's journey, with its twists and turns, all woven into gripping, hot suspense I was hooked. The first two books in The Syndicates have been all-consuming reads and I can't wait to see what the next installment offers us, in this not to be missed mafia series for 2021. I loved the flashbacks showing how Greer and Killian meet and the time they spent together before they were separated; it was very cleverly woven into the story that it took nothing away from the events that happen in the present.

You may be lead to think that this is a 2nd chance romance, but it isn't, as Greer and Killian's love for each other is never in question, it is the obstacles that they need to overcome to be together, and not any normally obstacles either, well you wouldn't expect it to be with both of them from mafia dynasties.

This book is everything I crave in a great mafia read. We get two main characters who are meant to be together, BUT are forbidden to be together. I mean what is there not to love about that?!
Killian is unwavering in his pursuit of Greer. He has known for awhile now that she is perfect for him. Greer is as tenacious as she is sassy. She is bound and determined to live her life her way. When Killian finagles a way to get Greer it is an uphill battle for them both. They both need to be careful, because if Greer's older brother were to find out things could get really bloody......
I loved the way Killian was with Greer. He knew he was going to have his work cut out for him where she is concerned. Greer is bound and determined to live her life her way. These two together equals perfect bliss! Their road is a long one and has a few bumps along the way.
If you have not read any of these books you do not know what you have been missing. The storylines are well written and you can not help but to fall in love with the characters. I am looking forward to seeing what is to come next.

After reading Matteo I was so excited to find out what Cala Riley had in store for Killian. Age gap and forbidden romances are my favorite and this one did not disappoint. I felt the chemistry between the two right away. I loved everything about their love story and how they got to where they were. The obstacles they had to overcome made it seem like it might be impossible for them to be together.

I was so heartbroken for the two of them throughout the book, because things looked bleak for so long. I was questioning myself how it would even be possible for the two of them to finally end up together like they deserved to be.

I cried several times in this book, especially in the end. All the pain and suffering was worth it, because this turned out to be one hell of a ride and one hell of a book. I would highly recommend reading this book! I love these characters and these story lines so much.

Killian and Greer have a love that is undeniable yet is forbidden in the eyes of her family. Killian is the head of the Irish Westies he rules with an iron fist, can be ruthless, yet his heart and soul belong to Greer. Greer comes from the Italian mafia but they’ve always kept her distant in order to keep her safe not knowing just how strong and capable she truly is. Keeping their love a secret from everyone is a must but when Killian finds his way that could lead them to more he pursues it and demands Greer to help him. WIth so much and so many standing in their way to happiness can they find a way to stand together or will they be doomed as a. Romeo and Juliet mafia style? I loved these two together, I loved Killian’s determination to have Greer no matter the cost, and I loved Greer’s tenacity for independence and show her worth. This was one of my favorites so far and I truly can’t wait to see where we go from here.

Mafia, age gap, forbidden romance with a dangerous, sexy, insanely protective Irish man, and a badass heroine. Yeah... a perfect combination for a splendid book. It's safe to say I devoured this one in one sitting. I loved the Romeo and Juliette vibe this story evokes. Killian and Greer are so perfect for each other, but their relationship is forbidden. He is head of the Irish mob while Greer is the sister of the Italian Don that rules New York. They shouldn't fall in love, yet the intense connection and the magnetic pull between them can't be denied.

The story is told from in POV and It’s packed with action, suspense, and many passionate moments between the main characters. There was never a dull moment. Although this can be read as a standalone, I would recommend visiting Cala Riley's Mafia Royalty series, to get more background on the secondary characters.

Oh man did I love Killian & Greer. Greer is just as much of a badass as the men in her life & I loved it! The Robin Hood justice she doled out kept me smiling this entire read. I was pretty surprised by her relationship with her family but the way she pushed back against them made me respect her all the more.

I also loved how much Killian loved Greer. These two were beyond cute together, the chemistry & banter made this book for me!

I also really liked getting to see more of the Westie’s world, it is so very different from the Italians. Weirdly no trust between the family, which is different from any other mafia world I’ve read before.

I love this mafia world & I loved getting to see past characters. I’d love to dive more into the Westie’s world.

Killian about Greer: " All i care about is her. She is the only thing that matters in my entire life."

Wow. Didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did.. loved how much Killian was in love with Greer how nothing else mattered but her how fierce and protective he was. How he was so unapologetic in his love for her. Loved the Romero and Juliet vibes. Loved how bad ass Greer was but in Killian's bed she was submissive. Loved them having to hide their feelings. The secret touches and dates. Cala Riely really stepped it up in this book.

This is the second book in the syndicate series & so far Killian is my favorite, he was so in love with Greer his loyalty was to her first over his own mafia, which is rare in mafia books. Greer was an independent queen! I love how she wanted to do things on her own & make a name for herself & she did she turned into one of the best hackers the mafia has seen, making her just as badass as her brother & Killian. If you’re looking for a man obsessed mafia read, this is for you. Onto the next book.🏃🏻‍♀️

I loved Killian and how sure of everything he was but Greer was another story. It was very frustrating when she didn’t believe in Killian or their love but also how much little faith she had on Bash. It also didn’t help that she would do stuff but then think different.
I’m very excited for the next one though.

Best Mafia Love Story of the Year!

THIS IS A MUST READ!!!
I love all of the Mafia Royalty and The Syndicate series stories but none have been quite as good as Bash & Sofie's story until Killian & Greer's story which is now right up there at the top with Bash!

I do not like most romance stories that are written to switch from present to past throughout the story but their story was written so poetically in the past and, to be honest, their story would not have been as good without the glimpses of the past (swoon!).

This was a modern day mafia romance written flawlessly with plenty of mafia action, deception, heart-stopping suspense, violence, red hot passion...but also with depth of emotions (between Killian and Greer as well as family) and more than just a romance, true love between Killian and Greer was what I experienced as I read their fantastic and thrilling story.

Bash & Killian's stories with their strong women are two books that I will read over and over! Top recommendation for Killian's story! Bravo!!!👏👏👏

Oh my goodness, Killian is everything! He is the book boyfriend we all need. Killian fell hard for Greer and will do literally anything in his power to get them together. But coming from two different mafia families, presents a problem over and over for Greer where how can she risk being unalived by her own family to be with the man she loves? On top of all that, she wants her freedoms away from this crazy world and is willing to use any tool to negotiate her freedom from her family. All of this should’ve have made Killian give up. Or at least make his angry. But not once does he give her shit or get upset with her but just continues to show her he can love her and this all work out. Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a fun rom com, there is lots of darker romance elements and Killian is very much ‘I hate everyone except her’ kinda man and has very few people he truly cares about and would give it all up for Greer. This book is so heart warming with a touch of the mafia world. The plot isn’t that deep in that realm as the book really does focus on Greer and Killian.

Killian 😍

A mafia romance about 2 families who shouldn't be together but have had a strong pull to each other since they met.

Greer is part of the Italian mafia. She was home in New York for her brother's wedding but rebelled and ended up in Killians Irish pub. They had an instant connection and hid out for a while but ended what they had even though they didn't want to.

Killian then needed a hacker and asked Bash Greers brother for her assistance to find the leak and who's taking his money. All the while sneeking behind their families backs. The hackers threat and what he makes Greer do makes her realize her love is for killian is strong, and she's gotta come clean.

Holy devotion this man knows what he wants! He would gladly end his own life if his woman would demand it. He is prepared to do literally anything and everything for her. I love me a man who lives to please his woman.
With this book we get some forbidden love, a fiercely devoted H, a strong and capable h, some scorching spice, a little action and tons of sweet romance. It is definitely mafia ‘light’ as we don’t get a lot of mafia action, it is more romance heavy. I’m enjoying this series!

Safety:
No OW/OM
No cheating
No separation in this book, but we get flashbacks to separation previously (MC’s have been on and off for a couple of years, both seem to have stayed celibate throughout)

I loved this! All thanks to Killian. What a perfect man?? I would sell my soul for anyone to live me as much. Greer on the other hand.. I liked her at first but then when the gala event happened she lost all my respect. The lack of trust in him? He never even gave her a reason to doubt him and she thought so low of him.. Killian loves her so much and I didn't feel like Greer loved him even half as much. He trust her with her life and she??? I really believe that Killian deserves so much more than her but it's his life so whatever. Overall, I really liked this quick read, I liked how the setting was, meaning that the story didn't start in the past right when they met, and that those moments were just memories.

All the forbidden, delicious angst! This is an absolute fabulous story of two people who come from rival families, but cannot ignore the pull between them. Greer is a fantastic FMC, who knew she was not going to be some meek woman serving her husband. She has a vibrant personality that shines from these pages. Her growth throughout the book is amazing to watch. Killian is the perfect “I will start a war to keep you and to keep you safe” MMC. His love and adoration of Greer is completely breathtaking. Greer and Killian’s spice level is so hot! Make sure you hydrate well before exploring these characters. I adore these two, their story kept me enthralled from page one!

Killian and Greer had a deep connection due to their past relationship. I loved how Killian never failed to show Greer that he was all in their relationship even when she’d pull away. And I loved how strong and kick butt Greer was. Overall, this mafia romance was a quick and enjoyable read!
