It’s that special day. The day when everything’s supposed to be perfect. The day when everyone is supposed to drink too much and party like it’s nineteen-ninety-nine. A day when family and friends show their support for the beginning of a beautiful bond,
But what if someone wasn’t there just to celebrate and have fun? What if the extravagant isolated destination was chosen for a more nefarious reason than assumed? What if someone at the ceremony held a dark secret? One that would see those in attendance slaughtered and humiliated in ways so nightmarish, they’re beyond imagination. What if most everyone at the celebration had unknowingly attended a Wedding Day Massacre?

For those of you who don’t know Aron’s writing, I will do my best to explain: Aron Beauregard is a force of nature. His imagination can be seen as Mount Vesuvius and his ideas are like an eruption. The stories are lava which destroys everything and more in its path. And, of course, his characters are the people of Pompeii. The warnings he gives to sensitive readers should be heeded…and sometimes even those who think they are impervious to horror. In other words, the shit will hit the extractor fan and leave more than a fucking splat…so, do you feel lucky, punk?
WEDDING DAY MASSACRE shows the skills of the author improving with every publication, and it was impressive to start with. Yes, many will die, but in the end, it will be done unapologetically and sometimes in bad taste. When I look back on some reviews of his previous books and I see the one star comments of how sick and wrong his stories are, I have to laugh. If the covers and the warnings doesn’t stop you, what exactly did you expect?
Back to the story: It is the greatest day in their lives – the rich husband, the gold-digger wife, the friends and family who gather to celebrate something wonderful…but that’s been done, so how can we make this one unique? Well, if everyone dies…hmmm?
The title tells you everything you need to know. There will be things you won’t expect and, if you underestimate this writer about coming up with something even more disgusting than the last book, just read and see.
If I can sum up this story in one sentence: There is a new level of deconfuckulation heading your way, take all necessary precautions!!
Hands down the best wedding I have ever attended. I had a bloody fantastic time. The characters are well written, and you can connect with them. As each "game" is revealed, another secret is uncovered. The suspense in finding out who survives to the end will have you breathless. I read this in one sitting. It was that good. Highly recommend.
Another reread but just as good this time around! -- These type of stories can feel a bit weird rating. "This was extremely disgusting, horrifying, vile and so much gore... Definitely 4 stars or more!" Well written but ugh will not attend any weddings anytime soon..
As soon as I saw the invitation to attend a Wedding Day Massacre, this little psycho was super excited to get my grubby little hands on it and shout “I do!”
This was the most fun I’ve ever had at a wedding. What an INSANE, HILARIOUS, SUPER FUN GORE FEST!
The cover art and illustrations were truly the icing on the gore splattered cake.
Thank you Aron, for the “WONDERFUL TOP-NOTCH EXPERIENCE! Wedding Day Massacre was truly everything I could’ve hoped for. 4.5 fucking stars, I highly recommend!”
This was my third dive into the twisted world and mind of Aron Beauregard. I have to say that I had to stew on this one a bit, and I came to the conclusion that you cannot judge Aron’s works off of one another. Each is it’s own unique piece of art!
Having read The Slob and then Yellow, both absolutely fantastic books that I suggest you pick up, I dig into a big slice of Wedding Day Massacre cake. In all honesty all three of these books have a different flavor, but the brutal carnage we all love is at the heart of them all. Beauregard has a seemingly natural talent of bringing the macabre to life from the paper and injecting it straight into your minds eye!
Wedding Day Massacre is a quaint story that begins off rather harmless. Taylor is the type of woman you do NOT want your son marrying, and Sebastian seems so sweet, innocent, and naive toward her actions and indiscretions. Taylor has one thing on her mind when it comes to Sebastian, and that is money. She always gets what she wants, and she has a plan to have money without having to get off her back. Sebastian on the other hand decides he will generously pay for the entire wedding, and the bride’s mother and father do not have to pay for anything. He finds the perfect venue at the newly renovated, and still unopened to the public Biltmore Hotel. The hotel has very fond nostalgic memories for Sebastian, and Taylor loves the idea of the lavish location.
As the bells ring and the party begins everyone seems to be having the time of their lives. However, someone in the party has something else on their mind rather than love, life, and happiness. Chaos, brutality, and utter madness is sure to unfold at the hands of a devious mind. I hope Sebastian and Taylor have insurance for any damages.
Of course, with a name such as Wedding Day Massacre you can expect to be reading much more than a story of a beautiful day of nuptials. However, Aron slowly builds up the story. Meticulously plotting everything out to a fine point. It was about a quarter of the way into the book that I thought, “here we go!” Nevertheless, the payoff was spectacular, and there were some absolutely gruesome and amazing segments! My personal favorite chapter was Piledriver. Especially, after a segment of The Written in Red Podcast hosted my Aron Beauregard, Carver Pike, Daniel J. Volpe, and Rowland Bercey Jr. you should check out the podcast if you haven’t, your four episodes behind! Then join The Written In Red Podcast Discussion Facebook group! I digress. Although, I loved many aspects there were two chapters that I felt were too quick. I only wished that they weren’t so abruptly fast paced. These chapters would be Bouquet Bloodbath and Boogie Down. Although fantastic I found myself almost feeling like, “ah, man I don’t want to leave the party yet.” However, Aron Beauregard pulls off a flawless ending that caught me by surprise. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention, but I feel it was a very clever sleight of hand finale.
All in all, I give Wedding Day Massacre by Aron Beauregard four solid stars out of five stars. As I stated, I tried not to compare this novel to The Slob and Yellow. It is unique in its own way. I only deducted one star for the build up, and the fact that the two chapters I really would have like to see drawn out with more torture and depravity. However, I understand the page length would have gotten extensive, and possibly redundant if they were expanded upon. I just wanted more MASSACRE! Nevertheless, once again Beauregard sealed the deal, and delivered another fantastic novel! Truly a unique and original story piece, and the Aron Beauregard book I suggested that my lovely wife Brandy reads first. Oh, she’s in for a treat! Until next time, my friends.

Most people dream about their Wedding Day. Finally finding that one person that completes you. And being able to celebrate their Union in front of their family and friends in the most extravagant way possible. Taylor just hoped that her Wedding would be the most talked about event of the year so she could push her "Social Media Influencer" persona into the stratosphere before ultimately divorcing Sebastian and taking a good chunk of his money with her. However, Sebastian is well aware of Taylor's true motives, and this fits into his plans perfectly. As he intends to kill as many people as possible over the course of the night. He wants to make history.
I've been a fan of Aron Beauregard's since I read his Try the New Candy Collection about two years ago. Since then, I've read everything that he's written. In my perspective, there are only two Authors that are sitting on the top of the heap in Extreme Horror / Splatter Punk today. And Aron is one of them. This Book, however, is his strongest work yet. If you're checking out the Reviews on this Book because you've already read some of Aron's previous work then it would come as no surprise that this should be wrapped in layers of Warning labels. If you're like me, you probably just tear those labels off as it's what has attracted you to the work in the first place. This one is an absolute vile, disturbing, perverted, and evil masterpiece.
Aron Beauregard is a twisted mastermind who has turned what was supposed to be the happiest day of a couple’s life into a ruthless bloodbath. Aptly named, Wedding Day Massacre delivers a high body count that bastardizes all of your favorite wedding traditions. While there are tender moments of family members getting slaughtered and blown to bits, chaotic free-for-all’s set to the tune of the Benny Hill Show theme song will lighten the mood. This is another bloody brilliant addition to my bookshelf. Aron Beauregard always delivers!

Jinx is truly everything I could’ve hoped for. While planning my wedding day massacre, I had many questions. There always seemed like there were a million things that could go wrong. But as I sit here on the eve of my wedding, I have full confidence in the arrangement. The intricate setup was plotted out methodically and cleverly masked with the utmost thought and attention to detail. We have some terrible things planned for tomorrow, but thanks to Jinx, my wildest fantasies will all be played out in great detail. They will all be brought to light and remembered forever. I’ll always love you Jinx! Five fucking stars, I highly recommend!
OK, So I had the absolute honour of an ARC of Aron Beauregard s latest book WEDDING DAY MASSACRE 💒 (DUE OUT ON THE 15TH- GO BUY IT!!), and it was like coming home. The familiarity and awesomeness of Arons writing is like putting a fave pair of slippers on, slipping on your fave PJ'S, and relaxing in your fave chair. 😍 I had so much fun with this book (not sure what that says about me!) I was hooked from the get-go. This story was like Its A Knockout - Horror Edition!! You never knew what gruesomeness the main characters were going to come up with next! This book had me smiling, cheering and laughing out loud, and of course grimacing and urging!! Arons sense of humour runs throughout, and if you're my age (21 😉) there's even some cool and funny nostalgia in there! I won't give anything away, but one scene had me roaring! 😂 The more books Aron writes, the better he gets - and he was pretty damned good to start with!! 😉 "WONDERFUL TOP-NOTCH EXPERIENCE!" "Five fucking stars, I highly recommend!" 🖤
What a twisted sick wedding this was. They did have all the normal wedding things plus a lot more. The bouquet toss has always been my favorite, so not a big surprise it was one of my favorite parts of the book. Most girls are forced to get out there even if they don’t want to, and it was the same in the book. No wedding I have ever been to had such a bitch fight for the bouquet, and what a fight it was! It even had a dance off, some wrestling fun, and even a few carnival games. People need to up there game for their wedding as I will be expecting more if I attend any in the near future.
This story is nothing short of straight brutality. Aron really took this to the next level. I loved every sick turn of this twisted tale. Now I don't feel so guilty for always coming up with an excuse for avoiding wedding receptions. I highly recommend this one.
I am in love with Aron’s writing style! I’m making my way through his works since I first read The Slob last year and I’ve got a say this is my favorite so far! I love horror and for me it’s rare to find an author that’s just goes balls to the wall. Lol. The graphic way he uses his words (not to mention that art!) to describe what’s happening really makes you see it and even sometimes feel it 😬 there are warnings for a reason! He is the most sick and twisted author I’ve found and I absolutely love it! I can’t wait to continue my journey through his work! If you’ve got the stomach for it I would highly recommend checking out his work!
I *loved* this. It was WILD. I had so much fun reading this! It made me laugh and wince and cringe and I literally could not put it down. It brutally destroyed every wedding tradition going, the sick twists just didn’t stop coming and it’s ridiculous fast pace made me finish this in a day. (I may reconsider any wedding invite I get in the future though.)
For the gore-fuelled, extreme horror fans out there, this cannot be missed. Thanks for another highly entertaining, disgusting read!
Now that's what I call a wedding reception. Holy bloody vows that was crazy. Once again Aron has blown me away with the death and destruction his characters cause. I kinda sided with Sebastian in this one. I enjoyed every gore soaked page and I'm now in need of more Jinx.
Oh man, after reading his book The Slob, I didn't think I could read anything more brutal and vile, but I was so wrong. I didn't think it was possible, but with this book Aron has taken his horror writing to the next level with its extreme violence and depravity. I feel like I need to consult a priest for confesion after reading this book. I have never read anything quite like this, and after reading it, I don't think anything else will ever come close to affecting me the way this did, but maybe Aron will surprise me again with his next book. Although this book has some of the most brutal scenes I've ever read, it was a real page turner. Aron doesn't just do violence and gore to shock you, but he constructs a very well written story with lots of twists and turns that is action packed and keeps you turning the pages wanting to find out what happens next. A fight for survival like no other that will have you biting your nails with suspense. I don't know how he comes up with this stuff. Aron is a true master of extreme horror.
I LOVED this book!! I mean, I figured I would being an Aron Beauregard book but this was even better than I'd hoped. It was calculated murderous mayhem and I couldn't wait to see what new depravity was going to be introduced as I read. Definitely one of my new A.B. favorites. 5/5 wedding bliss skulls 💀
Aron has produced a splatterpunk extravaganza with this one! Whether writing short stories, novellas, and now a full-blown novel, he is a master of the extreme and perverse! Seriously, some of the deaths this guy comes up with are just WTF, yet executed beautifully and realistically despite the absurdity of some of the more cringe-worthy scenes of slaughter. While previous novellas Die Tommy and The Slob I would categorize as extreme horror, Wedding Day Massacre is imo pure splatterpunk goodness. To me the difference is that extreme horror is unsettling and dark and splatterpunk is just plain ooey-gooey fun and this book is a freaking blast! I would compare it to Pandemonium by Ryan Harding and Lucas Mangum in terms of body count, inventive deaths, and just visceral enjoyment. There were a few twists along the way and the ending was extremely satisfying with a slight easter egg to one of Aron's stories in his collection Dark Assembly. This novel is fast-paced, full of humor, inventive kills and gory descriptions that never get repetitive or overindulgent. If you are a fan of splatterpunk, this is an absolute must read! I cannot wait to see what this man does next, and you should jump on the bandwagon, because he is truly on par with authors like Kristopher Triana, Ryan Harding, Chandler Morrison, Christine Morgan, Wrath James White, Edward Lee...etc etc. If you like any of those authors, I implore you to check out Aron's writing, and Wedding Day Massacre is a wonderful place to start. BUY IT!
The writing is always top notch with Aron Beauregard, not only I could imagine everything that was happening, I could hear the voices of the characters in my head. The description was litteraly perfection.
I was not expecting the turn of that story, it was definitely better. I don't want to spoil anyone, so I won't talk too much about the details but wow. I could read Aron Beauregard grocery list without being bored.
5 bloody stars ⭐
The answer is always McDonald's! Sorry 😂 Loved the Easter egg of "Last Days In Honduras"
What a wild ride! This story was wicked! I loved the gore and game show feel to this wedding day massacre. The only nitpick I have is that there were so many characters that it was hard to grasp a good feeling of who was who.
I really did enjoy this bloody read, and AB is becoming a favorite author of mine. This book was wild from start to end and minus the one nitpick, this is a great book.
But since that nitpick exists, I gave this one four stars.
From 100mph to 1000mph! Wedding Day Massacre had me rolling at times and cringing- with a grin. Great book dripping in blood soaked pages that continues to spill with each chapter. Another winner from the Lord of Splatter. Highly recommended.
Aron Beauregard's insanely ambitious latest full-length shits all over the happiest day in many peoples' lives as if it were a GG Allin concert. With alternating character points-of-view of a wedding gone way beyond awry, Beauregard is at his most cruel and unforgiving with an increasingly cringeworthy collection of carefully crafted nuptial nightmares that are highly unlikely to appear on any of those shitty TLC wedding shows. The one location setting induces unrelenting anxiety, helplessness and outright terror, as you can't help but feel like you're trapped right there in the ballroom beside the quickly decreasing guest list. To get too detailed would spoil this special day, but Beauregard has no qualms about ruining his readers' days with numerous examples of a writer wringing his hands at just how much more messed up he can make things. This reader has basically read it all, but there were several instances where I found myself saying: "Was that really necessary?" Being an avid fan of Beauregard's prolific bibliography, there's a clear sense that each book builds on the previous one, while the writer's confidence grows and his ability to craft highly entertaining extreme horror is what's garnering him a rapidly growing fanbase. For such an incredibly nice and humble guy, I'd have second thoughts about RSVP'ing to any shindigs this dude is throwing. However, I have no qualms about picking up all of the future work Beauregard publishes without needing to see any synopses.
This book, like the two others I’ve read so far (Yellow & The Slob) is incredible. So well written and although packed to the brim with gore and blood, it never feels like it’s there just for the sake of it. Brilliant!
Fun, fun, fun... I really enjoyed Aron's new book. It had all things that make an Aron Beauregard unique, including a large dose of his sense of humor. I hate going to weddings, i always have. I was always the little kid who had to be the ring bearer in someone else's wedding. I hated having to wear a little tux and those stupid glossy shoes! Reading this book made me feel a better about why i don't go to weddings. It's not the tux you have to worry about, it's the crazy ass psychos determined to ruin that special day. Aron ups the bizarre in this one, including a demented wrestling match and the greatest wedding cake of all time. His last two books The Slob and Yellow are centered around a couple characters, where this one has many characters. Aron handles this very well and makes you feel pity for some of the victims. Others not so much pity. Well written and a hell of a good time, do your gore soaked brain a favor and pick this and Aron's other works up.
Okay, it's no secret Aron's a bad ass splatterpunk author. This book has now become my favorite by him. Everything about this was twisted, gory, and disturbing. All the things you want in a splatterpunk book, right? But I think the most intriguing part to me was that it's not often you find a victim of one of these stories to be that DESERVING, so to speak. At times, I found myself actually encouraging Sebastian in his psycho escapades because Taylor really was just that fucking awful.
Taylor is a selfish, sociopathic wanna be social media influencer blatantly using Sebastian for his money. Thinking she bagged some dimwitted guy to marry that'll fund her lifestyle, allow her to sleep around like she's single, and hopefully die soon, leaving her rich. Little does she know.. Sebastian is a closeted psychopath and has a very sadistic wedding event planned for her and all their guests.
There were a couple "games" played that had me rereading paragraphs, but the scene with Alyssa and the baseball bat? Insane. Betrayal between mother and daughter? You're kidding. But the dance battle? Omfg. I was rooting for you, Perry!
If you enjoy splatterpunk, I definitely recommend this book.
For some reason that only can be discovered with professional help, I LOVE horror books and movies that occur during occasions that are supposed to be happy and turn them into train wrecks.
Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, they are all fair game as far as I'm concerned. This however is the first horror wedding I have encountered, although I wonder why. I mean, let's face it - people often go insane during wedding planning, so why not losing it during a wedding?!
Two pages in, I already wanted Taylor, the bride, dead. Self-centered, self-serving, but not the least bit self-conscious about her horrible behavior, she really deserved a wedding massacre. She invited multiple men that she was seeing to her own wedding. She was planning her false stories of abuse and neglect which would leave her a wealthy divorcée within a year of the wedding. Seriously. It has been awhile since I found a character that I hated that much in that little amount of time, but I'm sure that wasn't a coincidence.
Then things really get started. The reception is being held at the Biltmore Hotel before it's grand re-opening. It is a place special to Sebastian, where he used to vacation with his family as a kid and he has fond memories. Everything seems like it's going to be perfect. And it is perfect - for the planned massacre.
I have been hearing about Aron in my horror groups and after one of my book friends shared a deal for books directly from the author, I had to contact him. (By the way, he is such a nice, gracious man, and this is what came from him!) This was a balls-to-the-wall gorefest of epic proportions. I feel like I need to wash eyes and my brain after this one. He went places that I couldn't even believe and I loved every minute of it.
Now the only question is, which of his books do I pick up next?!
As I am writing this review I am singing at the top of my lungs the words of Grandmaster Flash!
"Alright, my love. I hope your special day was everything that you dreamed of. It will certainly be unforgettable, I don't think there's any disputing that..."
I hate wedding!! I call them Hangings, yep, hate weddings!! So when I seen that Aron had a book called Wedding Day Massacre I was like hell yea!!! This is one wedding that i would gladly attend. Even if I didn't make it out alive at least I got to attend a real hanging. And a fucking hanging it was. Sebastian and Taylor's wedding did not disappoint!! A grand slam of a massacre!! Aron has a way of writing that pulls you into his characters. You know them, like them, hate them, feel for them. And dang it if the one I liked didn't make it thru the massacre. Damn it Aron!!
This was one wild ride of a wedding and I enjoyed every bloody word of it!!
