Cindy Skaggs started gambling because she needed a quick financial turnaround for an investment opportunity, and her father was right there to pony up the bankroll. She learned valuable lessons that night in betting, bluffing, and folding, until she’d turned a dollar in nickels into some serious money: twelve dollars for a middle school yearbook.

Cindy grew up on stories of mob bosses, horse thieves, cold-blooded killers, and the last honest man. Most of those stories were even true. She has ten siblings, some of whom are older than her mother, has nieces and nephews older than her, and once went to a horse auction with John Wayne. Well, with him in the sense that he was there, and she was also... there. She was the munchkin in line for his autograph with tangled hair and bruised knees that liked to dance on her daddy’s dusty cowboy boots and listen to his tall tales.

With her love of storytelling and heroes, it’s no wonder she turned to books and stories after her father died. She skipped most of the eighth grade to bury herself in books while hidden in her closet, because she was still looking for the perfect story and the last honest man. Her search took her around the world with the Air Force as well as around the world with her education. She’s visited more countries than she can remember, nearly every state in the U.S., and has more degrees than the Tin Man.

As a single mom, she’s still gambling, betting on herself for the first time in her life, turning her lifelong love of storytelling into the one thing she can’t live without: writing. She writes 10,000 words a week in cafes and coffee shops, and some of those 10,000 words are even worth reading. She has an MA in Creative Writing, is working towards her Master of Fine Arts, and has three jobs, two kids, a Pushcart Nomination, more pets than she can possibly handle, and more works in progress than the crew filling potholes after a long Colorado winter.

Facebook is her guilty pleasure, the Twitterverse her happy place, and her blog the one place she’s not telling stories (fictional, anyway). This time around, she’s holding out for the last honest man. You can find her at www.CSkaggs.com

This series is so much fun! All of the characters are kick-ass, but lovable and their insecurities make them more real rather than whiney. This book is just the latest in the wild ride that is Team Fear. But seriously, every time it seems like we're starting to get answers regarding the Company, Team Echo, etc., more questions emerge. I need to read however many more books are coming ASAP because I NEED all of these people to get their happily ever afters.

The quest is still on. Craft has decided that he was the protector of Allyson Bowen, another scientist at the university. Her brother was the one that was stealing the research projects from all the other scientist in the group. Seeing the lab has been blown up, the school moved her to the academia side. Craft has been popping in and out of her apartment. I love the nun that lives across the way. The search is on to find the other scientist. Also, Debi and Allyson are going to need a lab. When poker night arrives, things go FUBAR. Echo is there, Craft has been given a drug and Allyson is fighting for their lives. Love is declared. A marriage proposal is made. The very end will surprise you. Can't wait for the next book

A Thrilling Ride

Great story of a great series. Who knew academic life in a university town could be frought with such danger? A sheltered professor finds herself locked in intrigue after the violent murder of her brother. Enter Craft, a member of the brain-altered Fearless brotherhood. Sparks and bullets will fly. Great dialogue and action sequences, and both hero and heroine will melt your heart. Enjoy!

I've been waiting a while for this book. I first read books 1-3 in 2018. This book, this series, is chock-full of action and romance. It took longer for the chemistry to kick in between Craft and Allyson than it seemed to with the other couples. But I enjoyed the ride. The author's website lists two more books in this series for publication in 2021.

Action packed.

This was the first in this series that I have read. Will be downloading the first three in a few minutes. Enjoyed the action and did not know who the bad guy was at all which is not usual for me.

Very good books

It is a very suspenseful thriller. I have read all four and each one you have to finish before you can do anything else
