Aiden Wagner is shattered when his identical twin his blown to pieces in front of his eyes and he can’t do anything to help except hold him as he takes his last breath. In his guilt and grief, he turned to the one person he’d loved from afar, and the one person he never should have touched—his brothers’ fiancée. Their wild night together left him full of shame and bitterness, so he ran to the other side of the world and signed on with Eidolon, a Black Ops team who works for the Crown.
Willow knew she was a walking cliché—she’d fallen in love with two men who were so different and yet so alike it was impossible to choose, but in the end, she had. She’d chosen Aaron, and she’d loved him more than anything, except perhaps his twin brother. She’d kept her distance from Aiden, stayed loyal to her fiancé and never acted on her feelings until the night they’d buried Aaron. Then she made the biggest mistake of her life and turned to Aiden for comfort. Leading to a secret she would carry to the grave to protect.
Willow’s life is once again thrown into turmoil when she uncovers accounting errors at the haulage company where she works. People are dying around her and soon she and her loved ones become targets. Willow knows Aiden is the only one who can help her and protect the son she’d gladly die for. Going to him is a risk to her heart, but it’s one she’s willing to take to keep her son alive.
Even though Waggs has built a new life for himself, Willow is never far from his mind, especially as every year on the anniversary of his brother’s death he seems determined to repeat the mistakes of the past. Now Willow is in trouble and she’s reached out to him for help. A killer is stalking her, and Waggs must put his feelings aside to save the woman he loves more every day before she’s murdered, and he’s left with nothing once again.
A Swoony Black Ops Romance That Will Melt Your Heart Broody, ultra-hot former spec ops soldier? Check. Feisty, beautiful heroine? Check. Globetrotting intrigue? Check. Super steamy love connection? Double check! “Waggs” is the 7th book in Maddie Wade’s Eidolon Black Ops series, a spinoff of her well-loved Fortis Security series. This was my first opportunity to read Wade’s work, and I truly wish I had done so sooner (but hey, there are only so many hours in the day!). Aiden “Waggs” Wagner is a former Green Beret who left the U.S. following a horrible tragedy to begin a new life in Great Britain. A member of an elite British black ops company, Waggs is an excellent operator – efficient, decisive, and deadly. However, even with the all the work he has done to rebuild his life on the other side of the pond, he knows he has left his heart back in the States with the one woman he cannot have. When Willow Yates crashes the party with his five-year-old nephew in tow, the Eidolon crew circles the wagons to protect them while Waggs and Willow navigate a field of landmines to reach out and claim the HEA they’ve always wanted. The chemistry between these two is amazing, the emotion Wade writes into their story is heart-achingly real and relatable. With visits from previous couples in both the Eidolon and Fortis stories, as well as glimpses at other players in the Fortis world (all of whom I’m hoping will get their own stories at some point), this story had me from the moment I started it and wouldn’t let me go until the very last page. I cannot wait to read all the rest!
“Waggs” is the seventh book in the Eilodon Black Ops series by Maddie Wade. “Waggs” is the story of Aiden Wagner, Willow Yates and her son AJ. Aiden had a twin, Aaron, they did everything together. They were different personalities, Aaron being extroverted and Aiden being quieter. They enlisted in the Army together, going through special forces training together. On deployment overseas Aaron dies due to a suicide bomber. Maddie Wade takes us through all the guilt, grief and angst that Aiden feels not only that he saw his brother die, but that he has feelings for Willow. Even with all this going on throughout the book, there is even more complex matters being dealt with by the team. One of the things I liked in this book was the relationship Willow had with Aiden’s parents, who helped her with raising AJ. Another was the Fun Day out at Eastnor Castle. I have learnt that when Maddie Wade writes a book to expect the unexpected. No longer do I think I have it all worked out, there is always a surprise or a twist in the plot I never saw coming. Here is my favourite quote from this book, “Don’t let the shadows of the past grey out your future.” I recommend this book to those readers who like complex plots, with romance and suspense.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest opinion of the book.
Heart breaking and heart pumping read, this story I knew would be emotional and lump in my throat, just from the brief glimps we got at the end of the last book. To get the full details of the relationship Waggs had with his twin and his twins fiance was sad, they were so close, to start piecing together clues and bits of information they they had and then the memories Waggs himself had of what happened was also emotional. This was intense and powerful, exciting and so very loving in many ways, the relationship bonds all round so strong. The answers, somehow I felt not worthy of the loss that had been suffered but then had Aaron not died there would be no chance for Waggs and we love him and didn't know Aaron so obviously we wanted him to get his happy ending. There are twists and suspense and if this were real life you would certainly question trust that is placed in some places, as always I'm glad the team pulled together and even had help from others along the way, the different groups are really like one big giant family at times. I love all these books and the various series, how they inter weave along the way, so we get extra characters right the way across, means we don't miss them quite so bad while waiting for the next book in each series. Well written and interesting, fast flow, sensitive subject matter and characters to really love, especially AJ ❤❤❤. Started 27/3/21 finished 28/3/21
Waggs is emotional, intense, and heartbreaking. The pain of loss and dealing with grief is a central focus in this story, balanced with hope, renewal, and finding love again.
I had a hint from reading Gunner's story that Waggs was going to be intense. The pain and grief that holds Waggs from the loss of his twin brother who was the other half of his soul is heartbreaking. I'm a sucker for stories where the characters are grieving the loss of a loved one because they bring out so much emotion and often hit me right in the heart. Ms Wade's treatment of Waggs's suffering when it comes to losing his brother is poignant and moving.
Aside from his grief over his brother, Waggs is a great guy. He's an invaluable member of the Eidolon team and he's dedicated, loyal, and skilled. He's also protective when it comes to the people he cares about and loves. He's also quick to forgive as is the case with Gunner and what happened with him. I love his struggle with Willow between loyalty to his brother and love for the woman who owns his heart.
I love Willow. She struggled with her feelings as much as Waggs did. The divide between loyalty and love is difficult for her to navigate too. I really felt for her when she was torn between living her life and loving again versus holding onto the past and her lost love. Willow is also such a wonderful, protective, and caring mother. She take such great care of AJ and goodness, what a great kid he is. Ms Wade did a great job of writing AJ and he totally stole my heart.
I love the roller coaster of emotions this book put me through. There's nothing like reading a book that runs me through a gamut of feelings.
I have to admit, I'm particularly looking forward to Decker's book. He's my guy. I love how insightful and how mysterious he is. Can't wait!
Weighed down by guilt and grief for not being able to help his twin, when he is killed by a bomb on a mission Aiden Wagner is left bitter and believe he does not deserve happiness or love. Finding temporary comfort in the arms of the woman both he and his brother loves/loved Aiden is riddled with guilt.
Willow is in trouble, she found out something that has put the life of her and her child in danger and the only person she can trust is her dead fiancée's brother, who she has been in love with for years. Turning to Aiden proofs to be the right decision, but will she be able to reveal the secret she has kept from everyone for years, and will they be able to break down the walls that the both built around their hearts.
With Aiden working for Eidolon and with her life being in the States, how will they make a relationship work? With lots of emotion and action this is a must read if you love series that don't disappoint.
This is an emotional story and will require tissues! Aiden “Wags” Wagner has been in limbo for the last five years. He lost his identical twin brother Aaron in a suicide bombing while performing Green Beret duties. Wags was there to witness it and was unable to save his other half. He allows himself one day a year to mourn and then bottles everything back up and leaves Kentucky to return to his job in England. He also allows himself to partake of his other secret one night a year. Willow Yates was his brother’s fiancée. She was also The only woman he would ever love. The two never gave into their secret love until the night of Aaron’s funeral. When a sick Willow shows up in England with her son he knows something is wrong. She stumbled upon something questionable while on the job and now is running from something bad. She knows Wags can and will protect her. He and the Eidolon team investigate and found Willow stumbled on a sex trafficking ring. He will have to return to the States to settle things and determine if he and Willow will have a future together. This book has a woman who loves two men, loss, healing, two great parents, a cute child, the Eidolon and Zenobi teams, action, suspense, forgiveness, some seriously hot steamy scenes and love. This is another great addition to the Eidolon Series.
Willow and Aiden’s story begins detailing some of the pain Waggs has been through and why. It also explains why he pushes himself so hard in his need to escape the past. However once Willow unexpectedly turns up asking for help he instinctively offers her protection.. as this storyline progresses it draws you in alongside their emotions. There is the fear for those they love but then after finding out about a past betrayed in the worst way possible, things quickly escalate. An amazing page turner that I had couldn’t put down, especially when other characters get involved from some of the other series, and the fast paced action, blows your mind.
I received this book as an ARC and here are my honest thoughts.
Despite the fact that I was in tears in the first 3 pages, Aiden Wagner has stolen my heart with his emotion, his hurt and his isolation. Losing a brother, let alone a twin born within minutes, is heartbreaking to begin with. But finding out that treachery and deception go deeper than just one instance puts another layer on the ache. But when the only woman he has ever loved shows up unexpectedly, sick and in danger, he puts aside everything to focus on her health. Will his past come back to bite them both? Just who is behind the threat to his family? Will he allow forgiveness to sooth the savage beast?
Once again Maddie has smashed it! These books only get better and better. Fantastic characters and the opportunity to meet up with friends from other series with some tantalising peeks into the lives of team members who will be featuring in future books. . Absolutely loved this book and wanted it to go on forever. Waggs and Willow have had such a roller coaster relationship and it is great to follow their romance. Wonderful mix of romance and excitement I highly recommend this book (and the others in the series) Cannot wait until the next book.
Oh Wow! What an incredible, emotional book, I was invested from the very start. Waggs story has been long awaited, and most certainly does not disappoint. He has been through a very traumatic experience which continues to haunt him five years on, and the sudden and unexpected appearance of Willow at Gunners wedding brings everything to the fore again. I don’t want to give anything away which could spoil the book for anyone, so all I will say this book is probably the best in the series so far in my opinion, I just loved it, and am really looking forward to the next in the series.
This book had me hooked from the beginning to the end. The book brings out many emotions and kept me interested the entire time. Aiden lost his twin brother and the woman he loved but was afraid to tell. Willow lost both men for different reasons who she loved. She needed help and ran to Aiden (Waggs) and he was there for her when she needed him. Chemistry is amazing if only they knew how each other felt Loved this story
Maddie Wade has done it again! This book has everything you could want and more. I was excited for Waggs’ story but didn’t expect it to involve me so emotionally. The heartbreak felt by Waggs is clearly portrayed in gut wrenching detail. The feelings of the characters jump of the page and wrap you up in the story. At times I wondered how on earth she was going to choreograph a HEA but never lost faith that it would be done in fantastic style. Can’t wait for the next one!
I will say that I struggle with books where it's brothers and the same girl, it's not something I enjoy and struggle to get through. However, Maddie is just so brilliant that whilst I found that particular element difficult to get over, she makes you fall in love with the characters and what the best for them. I thoroughly enjoyed Waggs book, Maddie is an excellent storyteller and I cannot wait for more.
Aiden Wagner (WAGGS) is best man at his best friend and fellow Eidolon team member . He is shocked when Willow the only woman he loved but cannot have ,shows up at the reception with her small son AJ . Willow is sick and in trouble . Wagg's will do whatever it takes for Willow and AJ . The Eidolon team step up to help Waggs to protect Willow and AJ and to find out who and why she's in danger . Maybe Wagg's and Willow can get a happy ending when it's all said and done . This story is outstanding and well written . The characters are unique and definitely interesting . The story is full of suspense and action packed . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Maddie Wade has written beautiful, emotional story. Waggs is a second chance, sexy page-turner, and I couldn’t put it down! Waggs is the latest book in the marvelous Eidolon series. Waggs had feeling for Willow for a long time, but he had to get away after tragedy struck his family. Now he has a job that he loves and another chance at love. You are guaranteed a suspenseful story with a happily ever after! I can’t wait for Jack’s book.
a story of love through grief, after Aidens twin Aaron is killed on duty he deals not only with grief for his twin but his ever loving feelings for his late brothers fiancée Willow. when Willow turns up in need of help Aiden cant say no, but will their shared grief ever turn into something everlasting? this is a well written heart breaking and warming story of second chances amongst the hardest of themes.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Aiden's and Willow's story will wreck you but at the same time will put all the broken pieces back together. The story has grief, sorrow, heartache, danger, suspense, mystery, and a build-up for these guys' love story.

I borrowed Waggs ~ Eidolon Black Ops ~ Book 7 from the Kindle Unlimited Program.
Aiden Wagner, medic for the Eidolon group is dealing with the death of his identical twin brother, that died in combat five years ago. He makes a yearly trip home on the anniversary of his brother's death, visits his grave, gets drunk and visits Willow the mother of his brother's son, AJ.
Unexpectedly Willow and AJ show up in England. Willow is in trouble and Waggs steps up to help her as his feelings for her grow. The trouble includes fraud, human trafficking, murder, betrayal of his Green Beret teammates and commander. It is full of excitement, danger and fun with a five-year-old and a happy ending.
I received this book as an ARC and here are my thoughts.
I was so sad for the pain that Waggs has went through it was heartbreaking. It also explains why he has pushed himself so hard in his need to escape the past. Willow kicks his instincts into overdrive when she shows up with her son asking for help. It is beautiful to see them embrace the relationship that they have both longed for for so long. It's so hard to tell why I loved this book without giving anything away, but this book was very enjoyable. It pulls you in and drags you through Waggs and Willows emotions everything from their fear for those they love and the love they share to the betrayals they encounter. This book was a page turner that I had trouble putting down. I also liked we got to see a little more into Decker. This is a book you won't regret reading.
In true Maddie fashion this book had me hooked from the very first word. The complexity of emotions Waggs has is astounding and so beautifully written my heart ached. Willow is such a beautiful character, a woman so desperately in love with one brother whilst living with the loss of another. I could almost feel their characters reaching out for each other, needing the other to be whole once again. Watching their feelings grow and bloom into the open was a privilege to watch unfold. As with all Maddie’s books this was written with a never ending amount of talent, foresight and obvious love and Carr she pours into all her characters. This book was one I wanted to speed read through just so I could read through it but also read it slowly, draw it out and soak up every word. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!!
This review contains a few spoilers. Once again Maddie Wade delivers a fantastic read. I love all of her characters in Eidolon but Waggs is now may favorite.
Waggs and Willows storyline had me crying within the first few pages and laughing at other pages.
Waggs aka Aiden was a twin. He and his brother Aaron did everything together from little on and were not only brothers but best friends.
They entered the military together and became Green Berets; Aiden as a medic and Aaron as a sniper. Then Aaron met Willow and decided at first sight she was the one for him. Before an upcoming mission Aaron proposed to Willow.
On a routine aid mission, something went terribly wrong and Aiden lost his brother when a bomb exploded.
Aiden stayed by Aarons' side until they put him in the ground. He was now so lost without Aaron and after the funeral went to visit Aarons fiance` Willow and their grief overtook them and they found solace in each other. Then grief and regret would follow.
Aiden went on to finish his last tour, but without Aaron he was lost and didn't know what to do until he got a call from Willow letting him know he was going to be an Uncle. This somehow broke him and he decided to take up with a group call Eidolon so he ran to the UK.
On each anniversary of Aaron death he would visit his grave, drown his sorrows in liquor and then visit Willow. It was like a moth to a flame, he couldn't stay away that one time each year.
At Waggs' best friend Gunner and Lacy wedding Willow shows up with her son AJ unannounced and says she is in trouble. Waggs immediately comes to her rescue wanting to provide protection for them both.
As the story unfolds there are more twists and turns as Waggs and team try to find out why Willow is in danger.
Another wonderful story and now I can't wait to read Deckers'.

Ok so I'm late to the game and just discovered this series - this is book no 7 and I was not disappointed. Aiden and Willow - gosh! The emotions, the grief, the loss, love and of course AJ. Brilliantly written, I loved the well rounded characters and the drama and intrigue (as well as the hot passion) kept me reading half the night.

Love love love Maddie Wade . Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Another great read and the wait for the next book feels like forever. Waggs is suffering from survivors guilt after the death of his twin , coupled with having feelings for his brothers wife which are reciprocated . In this beautifully written book this is all about second chances and forgiveness with a suspense and usual cast of characters we have come to view as family . Can’t wait for Jacks book.
Loved reading wags story and learning how to move on after the death of his twin brother . It was also great how the author intertwined the team from ryoshi delta to help too. Another great read from the Eidolan team.
I absolutely loved this book! This series gets better and better with every book. Aiden and Willow stole my heart. Their story had me crying and cheering for them. Full of action start to finish! Can't wait for Decker! I highly recommend this book and series! Great job Ms. Wade!!!
Wow, another great read in this series. Waggs has loved Willow since he first met her, when she was with another man......his twin brother. Now they have a 2nd chance at their own happiness, with lots surprices and shocks on the way. We also see a side of Decker that makes me want his book like yesterday !!!!
Another fantastic book by Maddie Wade. Aiden and Willow are absolutely amazing. They have a lot overcome for their happily ever after. But as always, the Eidolon team is their to help and support them as only they can. A great read and an absolute must for all action romance lovers.
Maddie it was so good! It is good to be back in eildon. This story is about 2 hurting people who are hiding their feelings for each other who finally get together. Of course with every Maddie Wade book there are bomb drops. So readers grab your tissues and favorite beverage and let's visit eildon again.
Another great read by Maddie. A heart felt story about twin brothers and the woman they love. A book of great suspense that had me on the edge of my seat. Another of Maddie's books that I would highly recommend.
