"What sets Melissa Foster apart are her compelling characters who you care about... desperately...I dare you to read the first chapter and not be hooked." International bestseller, M.J. Rose
"Melissa Foster is a wonderful connector of readers and books, a friend of authors, and a tireless advocate for women. She is the real deal"--Author Jennie Shortridge
"All I see right now is you." Melissa Foster brings tears to my eyes once again. Maybe there will be a time when she won't. Maybe. But this wasn't it. I wish I could live in a Melissa Foster book. I wish I could feel what I call the 'swoon factor' her heroes bring to the table. I wish I could know the kind of love her heroes and heroines share, the feeling of friendship and family, of being there for one another every step of the way. Living in Silver Island would also be a dream come true.
"You're definitely more like a barrel of whiskey than a tall glass of champagne. You can be tough to swallow, but you're so worth the burn." Oh, Archer. I read the other two books in this series, and I was looking forward to his book the most. He's a special kind of guy. He's arrogant, gruff, and grumpy, and has no filter. Never mind counting to ten, he'd need to count to one hundred and it might still not be enough! He's fiercely protective. He's a playboy not looking for any kind of relationship, not only because those are complicated and messy, but also because it would mean opening up to someone. Trusting someone completely.
"Indi looked at him like she knew she was worthy, like he was the lucky one, and hell if that wasn't exactly how he felt." I love how Melissa doesn't write weak heroines or doormats. They may have a past, or they may be facing some issues in the present, but they don't allow that to shape or determine their future. They're tough, headstrong, badass women who know what they want and go for it. Indi is no exception. She fights tooth and nail for what she wants, even if she doesn't fully have the support of her loved ones. Even if she is to go down, she'll go down swinging.
"I fucking love the way you hate me." Archer and Indi have hooked up a few times. I loved how she swears each time is the last time, but she keeps coming back for more. Look, who wouldn't? Archer is the stuff of sexy, racy, spicy dreams. They have this insane chemistry, there were really steamy scenes between them, and I was there for all of it. It's plain to see that their friends-with-benefits thing is more than what it seems to be, even when they swear it's not. Oh, please.
Archer's family, and the Silver Island friends-who-are-like-family give the right small-town vibe to this book and make it all the more special. You get glimpses from other couples (I've read some of their books, others I haven't yet) and that just draws you in even more, without it ever taking the focus from Archer and Indi.
"I don't know how we got here, but it doesn't matter, and there's no going back." More than seeing the playboy fall at the heroine's feet, I loved how they fell for each other, slow and steady. The small gestures, the behavior changes in both of them that showed something was indeed different, the opening up, the spending the night, the cuddles. The support they showed each other when they both needed it most. Instead of raising a wall to shield themselves from the rest of the world, they choose to face whatever comes their way together.
And is it all fun and games? No, it isn't. There's stuff they need to work out so that they can really be together. It's not an easy path, and you could see the pushing and pulling. I'd have loved to slap some sense into Archer sometimes, but I always trust Melissa to deliver on the HEA.
"And when you yell at me for making mistakes, which you know I will, I want to kiss you into silence and remind you of all the reasons you fell in love with me in the first place." Guilt is a powerful deterrent. It can consume you if you let it. Having someone in your corner, who believes in you and in what you can achieve, is the greatest incentive. Archer and Indi may seem so different at first, but they both needed someone to believe in them, to lay it all on the line for them, and risk it all. Because that's what you do when real love catches up to you. Caught by Love, indeed.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Caught by Love by Melissa Foster delivered an emotional and sexy romance. In true, Foster style Caught by Love will not only tug on your heart, but it will have you smiling as you follow Indie and Archer on their journey to happily ever after.
After meeting Archer in Tempted by Love and seeing him shrouded in anger, bitterness and sadness, I knew his story would be intense. I slipped into his story with ease and had fun watching him got caught by love. I think Archer is the most stubborn hero Foster has crested. Someone like him would need a strong woman who would call him out on his crap. Indira (Indie) Oliver was that woman.
Indie plans to open a boutique on Silver Island. With her focus on establishing her cosmetic line and this new business venture, a relationship was not in the cards. So ending her casual hookups with Archer Steele shouldn’t be a problem. Especially knowing he has no intention of settling down. Well, you know what they say about good intentions.
These two could never seem to have enough of each other. Soon their hookups became so much more. I could only smile each time Indie said it would be the last time, as she was only deluding herself.
Archer was an awesome individual. He may be a bit rough around the edges and lacked filter, but it added to his appeal. He cares deeply for his family and friends. It was this caring nature that opened the door for the pain and guilt he shouldered for many years. Not wanting to go through this pain again, he built walls around his heart. But Indie broke them down one by one.
It pained me to see this strong caring man believing he did not deserve to be loved. I delighted in his growth and the steps he took towards self forgiveness and healing. Indie helped him to that he was more than capable of handling a relationship. Who would have guessed he was such a romantic? The way he supported Indie and her dreams will warm the coldest of hearts.
Like all if Foster’s heroines, Indie was headstrong, smart, determined and independent. She knows what she wants and despite not having either support of her family; it didn’t stop her from pursuing her dream with passion. She may not have had her parents’ support, but between Archer, his family, and the residents of Silver Island, she had all she needed.
Indie and Archer’s romance was burning 🔥 hot. Whew, fanning self. These two sure know how to burn up the sheets. The story delivered several humorous moments. There was a scene near the end that had me cracking up.
Caught by Love was a delightful read from start to finish. I recommend Caught by Love to readers who love romantic stories surrounding love, loss, healing and forgiveness. Readers who enjoy an emotional and sexy romance featuring a strong heroine and a grumpy hero will want to add it to their reading list.

Nope, it didn't happen...I thought I was going to make it through one out Melissa Foster's books without crying, but nope that didn't happen. Melissa Foster is one of my most favorite authors and it's because she writes books with tons of steam but so much heart that you cannot help falling in love with her stories time and time again.
CAUGHT BY LOVE is Archer Steele and Indira (Indi) Oliver's story, their story starts off with a bang and has you rooting for them every step of the way. I loved this foul mouthed yet big hearted guy and Indi was a woman you hoped got everything she wanted in life and more.
If you enjoy dirty talking Alpha Males, Strong Women, Steamy Contemporary Romances, Siblings Best Friend Romances, Small Town Romances, or Friends to Lovers Romances I would highly recommend this book to you.
Archer Steele ladies and gentlemen. Archer 👏 Steele 👏
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: For the longest time, Archer Steele was just Indi's best friend's older brother. Then he was her acquaintances-with-benefits. And then they slowly stopped seeing other people. When both of them start wanting more, but are too terrified to actually make the jump. They're faced with a hard choice: Drop the crap from their respective pasts and move forward, or go their separate ways.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: If you know me you know I love me some character series. And Melissa Foster's Steeles of Silver Island series has been a great add to my shelf.
Foster's writing is unique. It doesn't follow the traditional paths and story arcs. The drama is in the middle of the book, not at the end as is typical. But what I love the most is that each of these books feels real. It feels like the steps a real couple would go through. There's not a ton of hyperbole or events that take you out of it. There's just family and friends and love and healing.
𝗖𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 is no different. You don't get too many novels where the main characters already have a relationship at the start. Archer is the brooding, broken Steele brother. Indie is the fiery independent woman. It's like the healthiest love story I've ever read - he helps her by lifting her up, she helps him by breaking him down. And the swoony moments and the story arc make it a great read.
5 Star review of Caught By Love (The Steeles At Silver Island #3) by Melissa Foster
This is the third book in the Steeles At Silver Island series and was a great addition. From the first chapter I was hooked and had a hard time putting it down as I became invested in Archer Steele and Indi Oliver, the woman who changes his life . There is something about Melissa Foster’s writing style; her characters are well rounded and you cannot help but be drawn to them. Archer is arrogant, an alpha who has no interest in settling down so when he meets Indi, knowing she is only visiting the island he embarks on a fling. Finding out that Indi is in fact moving to the island sends Archer into a spin. He has baggage from the past that he needs to come to terms with and forgive before he can think of settling down. The miss communication between Arch and Indi was a little frustrating but times but the chemistry between them is impossible to deny, but is it enough? Caught By Love is a heart warming, beautiful love story, which is well written.
Be Steele my beating heart! See what I did there? Okay, yeah, I'm being a wee bit cheesy, and Caught by Love is anything but! This is the third novel in Melissa Foster's The Steeles at Silver Island series, and it's got Archer Steele, twin to Jack (better known as Jock, whose book, Tempted by Love, is the first in the series), as its male main character. He's paired with someone who should be familiar to longtime readers of Foster's--Indira Oliver. He's a renowned vintner with the family owned Top of the Island Winery and Vineyards; she's an in-demand hair and make-up artist with her own line of skin care and cosmetics. The two have been not-so-stealthily hooking up, but with Indi finalizing plans for her boutique and moving to the Island, she decides the illicit trysts need to end. Archer, however, does not quite agree.
It really isn't fair that Melissa Foster has been writing book after book, and I go and fall for every single one back to back. I was initially worried Archer wouldn't click with me as much as the male MCs that came before him. Oh, how wrong I was! I. Am. SMITTEN! Gah! When those layers were peeled back, and his back story came to the forefront, there was no resisting the guy. And can I just say that I adore Indi? She was someone who was working to make her dreams become reality, and as much as she wanted her parents' support and approval, she realized she didn't need either one. Heck, if I was her, I wouldn't want to leave Silver Island either! This author has easily become one of my go-tos, and her winning combo of love, family, and home has me coming back for more each time. Five-plus stars for Caught by Love.
Caught By Love takes us back to my happy place - Silver Island. Everything is bigger and better there, including the love stories. In this book the sexy winemaker-Archer and sassy make-up artist/entrepreneur-Indi, take us on a hot and sexy ride as they come to grips with their feelings for each other and their future together.
The bigger they are the harder they fall and they don’t get much bigger than Archer Steele. The big, burly, possessive grump, puts up the mother of all fights, but fall hard he does and I enjoyed every single sexy second of it! Watching the scowling Archer break every single one of his rules for his sister’s best friend, made my heart melt. He didn’t stand a snowflakes chance in hell of resisting the sassy, strong willed Indi, who proved to be one of my favorite heroines to date.
Melissa Foster does not shy away from the hard stuff. No, not her. She brings it to the table and lets it loose. It’s in dealing with all aspects of life, love and loss, that she gives us the incredibly beautiful romance stories that she does. Archer and Indi’s story was that and more.
I’m giving Caught By Love the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
Caught By Love by Melissa Foster was the third book in the Steele’s at Silver Island series. It was also one of many in her Love in Bloom series.
Archer Steele was one of several Steele siblings and the twin to Jock, book one, Tempted By Love. We got a glimpse into Archer during Jock’s story but through Caught by Love Foster dove into his backstory, the guilt and all of the baggage that went with Archer.
Indie Oliver was the sexy friend to Leni Steele. Indie had been around the Steele’s long enough to notice the sexy Archer, but she also noticed his jerk side so she kept her distance, until she didn’t. We then learned Indie had some baggage of her own.
Ultimately, Caught by Love was a story of new beginnings, acceptance, leaving the past behind and of course, love. And as expected, Foster also included the strong bonds of family.
All in all, it was a heartfelt read and another success for Foster. Next up is Levi and I can’t wait!
You know that feeling you get when you're so excited about something and then that thing disappoints?? Yeah well this was NOT the case. I can honestly say that after reading Melissa Foster's book for a while now that Archer Steel is hands down my favorite man written by her.
Archer has a grumpy and sometimes ugly side to him. He never dealt with his grief and this has caused him to close up and never give away his heart. But when his relationship with Indi progressed to more than a hoop-up here and there, we get to see letting his guard down and with Indi's help begins to forgive himself and let go off all the pain that has kept him from moving forward.
This book had me laughing out loud, crying the biggest ugly tears you can imagine and at the end left me with the biggest smile on my face because if anyone deserves to be loved it was Archer.

Caught by Love is book #3 of The Steeles at Silver Island, a contemporary romance series set on the East coast of America.
Indi and Archer have been getting together on and off for a while. Archer runs the family wine business on Silver Island, while Indi is a hair and make-up artist in New York. Indi is friends with Archer’s sisters and plans to move to Silver Island to open a boutique.
This is a hot romance which goes from friends-with-benefits to a passionate relationship; both Indi and Archer are headstrong which leads to some fiery arguments. I enjoyed seeing Archer work through his past guilt and pain so that he could make a life with Indi. Indi was a great role model too, and her organic beauty products were inspiring; It’s a shame that this was just a fictional business as it made me want to place an order.
There were plenty of great moments for the pair and the fort building in the snow was particularly memorable, as was the fashion week episode. I have really enjoyed the Silver Island setting for this mini series, and look forward to more stories set here.
"A match made in the most stubborn parts of heaven."
I love this quote and to one point it illustrates perfectly Archer and Indi's story. Both of them have big issues that make them want just a casual relationship. They ease beautifully into it, until they help each other overcome them, and they realize their perfect days are filled with each other's presence.
There is so much family and heart in this book, as it is with all Melissa Foster's books. Both Archer and Indi are such lovely characters, there is a bit of drama but the kind that life deals one, not the kind one makes from his or her foolish acts. There are a lot of cute, funny, warm moments and a lot of heat. A winner, the kind of book that makes your day better.
I received a copy of this in exchange for my honest review.
CCaught by Love is book 3 in The Steels at Silver Island. This is a series that really should read in order. The author's books are interconnected, referencing other families from other books. I will say that I have not a read much outside the Steeles and have been able to keep the story and characters straight but it can be confusing to read as a standalone. The author writes such great stories that honestly you will want to read them all.
I love visiting the Steeles of Silver Island. I love the beauty of this family. Their championing of one another and unconditional love is what I want in a family series. The conflict of this romance is more about accepting the “scary “emotion of love when you are fear full of failing. Melissa Foster creates this big, beautiful family series romances that when the story is done your heart is full of love and hope. These stories have the right amount of steam and an enjoyable HEA.
Caught by Love is book three in The Steele’s at Silver Island and it’s a wonderful addition to the series. This is Archer Steele and Indi Oliver’s captivating journey and I’m sure like me you will be drawn in from the first few pages and there will be no putting down until the final words have been read. Archer is the Steele man who has no interest in settling down, he is arrogant and alpha through and through but a woman named Indi who is moving to the island is about to turn his world upside down. Indi is looking to start a new life away from her controlling family and a fling with Archer seems to work for both of them but Archer needs to get over the baggage he carries from his past before he can move on with a future. This is story full of love, passion and a lot of mis communication, there is no doubting the chemistry and the attraction this couple share but will that be enough….. This is a beautifully written love story that I highly recommend to all romance lovers.
When I read the blurb for Caught by love I was really excited for Indi and Archer. Indi is a cool chick who started her own skin care company and loves what she does. She wants to help women feel beautiful 🤩 n their own skin. She wants to live her life for her and no one else. Archer however fell flat for me. He was not what I was expecting. In the first chapters he comes across like a Dom in the bedroom and then very lovey dovey. I did have trouble getting into their story but hope to see more of them in the other Silver island books.
Boy is this book red hot I'd give it a 100/10 on that scale. The reason for the hotness is the scorching hot chemistry between Archer and Indi, who have been hooking up with each other for months. As Indi moves to Silver Island Archer starts to get jealous when anyone acts interested in her. This is when he realised he was in love with her but I urge anyone to read this to find out all the twists and turns for yourself.
I truly love Melissa Foster books, I do. I love the characters, I love the cozy feelings, and I love how happy everyone is at the end of each book. I adored Archer and his grumpy-butt self in the previous books, and I love the Steele family, so when I found out Caught by Love was going to be Archer's story, I jumped at the chance to read it. He's a messy human and I loved it and I was so happy he was going to be paired up with someone like Indi.
What I loved most about this story was how Indi and Archer didn't run from each other when they had problems or issues, they ran to each other. Yes, they messed up, and yes there were arguments and explosive fighting matches, but they worked through them and communicated, and it was one of the most adult approaches to main characters I've seen in a while. They supported each other, they championed one another, and they worked together and brought out the best in each other and it made me so damn happy.
If the book had been just that, and focused only on this couple, it would have been a five star read.
Unfortunately, as Melissa Foster is wont to do, this book had way too much extra *stuff* and it was distracting. There were just entire chunks that could have been removed from the overall story because they added nothing but extra words, they were just cute scenes that I (honestly) ended up kind of skimming. I also know that there are a lot of families and series in Foster's universe, and while I appreciate when they intertwine and we see characters we love and know from those other stories interact with our current read, I don't think we need an entire backstory for each character every time. It'd probably be easier to read if they were more like Easter eggs and little surprises for her faithful readers, so all of that added in (because there were a LOT of randoms from other series in this book) plus the scenes that just kind of added words and not value, made this book hard to read at times. It felt hefty when it didn't need to be.
I did love Archer and Indi's story, if we focus on them, and I loved how they both grew throughout the entire story arc. I wish the book had been a little more dedicated to just that, rather than all the noise of everything else, but overall it was sweet and steamy, and full of wonderful characters I can't wait to revisit in the next story (I see you Levi, and I'm ready).
[I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review]
I don’t try and tell people what’s a good book or a bad book in my reviews because that’s very personal and subjective. I just write about what I personally like or don’t like about a book. I love Melissa Foster and her one-hundred plus book Love in Bloom Universe. That said I wasn’t sure how much I’d like Caught By Love because I wasn’t a fan of Archer Steele, the male protagonist in this story when I met him in his brother Jock’s book Tempted by Love, the first book in this series. As he readily admits in this story, he had been an asshole at that time of his life. In fact his guilt over that among other things threatens to derail his relationship with Indie Oliver before it gets started. Because he’s drowning in guilt he doesn’t feel he is suited for a relationship with anyone so he’s been content to limit himself to one-night hook-ups with a seemingly endless supply of willing bed partners. His guilt also tends to make him a man with anger always boiling just below the surface. If the title hadn’t already been taken Foster could have called this book Beauty and the Beast. Archer may not have looked like a beast beyond his powerful physique, but driven by all the guilt he was carrying around and a genetic predisposition to be hot tempered, he behaved like one. But just as in that fairytale the beautiful but far less innocent and docile than Belle, Indie Oliver tames her beast. Indie’s relationship with Archer the older brother of her BFF Leni began when they hooked up after his grandmother’s birthday party in his vineyard with other people nearby no less. Needless to say Indie enjoys being a little adventurous in where she gets her groove on. The closest they’ve come to being in an exclusive relationship is agreeing that they wouldn’t go bareback or have oral sex with anyone so they can safely do it with each other whenever Indie comes to Silver Island and they hooked up for the night. In fact, reading what Archer said to Indie before they got naked for the first time really makes me wonder if she isn’t as screwed up as he is. “You better be sure you want this before you get in my bed because when we’re done you’re out the door and I’m on to my next conquest.” How a woman wouldn’t walk out the door if that’s this guy’s idea of verbal foreplay is beyond me? But because their sexual chemistry is so strong, Indie still gets into Archer’s bed and continues to get into it several times after that. In fact, the only reason she wants to stop their sexual relationship until she finds her long term Mr. Right, is because she’s relocating from the Big Apple to Silver Island to open up her brick and mortar skin care and cosmetic’s boutique on the island. Because she’s now going to be living and working on Silver Island, she doesn’t want her business to suffer by having a reputation that she’s part of the Island’s biggest manwhore’s harem. Problem is before she comes to that decision she’s made so many walks of shame from Archer’s boat that everyone in the gossipy town already knows they’ve been hooking up so that horse is already out of the barn. Her other problem is Archer despite his history of “hit it and forget it” isn’t willing to let her walk away from him and all he's got to do is look at her and she's ready to go. Early in the book there’s lots and lots of sex as Indie repeatedly fails to keep her promise to herself to not fall for Archer’s seductive charms like an addict who can’t kick her habit. Well okay, there’s actually a lot of sex throughout the book as these two can’t keep their hands off each other. Their passionate personalities in and out of bed (and the shower and everywhere else) are well matched. Archer for his part demonstrates that despite his issues that make him believe he’s not relationship material, does show he’s devoted son, brother and uncle. And even if he’s not ready to admit Indie is more than the best sex partner he’s ever had to himself, he is both protective and kind to her when he’s not acting like an arrogant, “I’m too good a fuck for you to ever walk away from.” ass. But then Indie keeps reinforcing that attitude so I guess he can be forgiven for it. The “Nobody puts Baby in a corner” scene where he defends her to her wealthy, all about apearances parents is cheer worthy. Of course what starts out to be a “just for the sex” relationship becomes much more as Indie can’t resist the combination of their sexual attraction and the kindness and support Archer gives her while Archer can’t resist the sexy woman who has turned his world upside down while helping him overcome the demons that have chased him for more than a decade. The timing of this book was off to me because Indie and Archer’s romance takes place before the first couple of books in the Silver Harbor series, Maybe We Will and Maybe We Should, where Ava de Messieres dies leaving her 3 daughters Abby, Deirdre and Cait to decide what to do with the family’s rundown beach bistro and they find love. Which Abby and Cait do in the first two books in that series published before this book is released in which their mother is dying. Why the author and her publishers decided to release this story after those two books rather than before in chronological order baffles me? As with all Melissa Foster books she loves to drop in characters from not only her previous books in the series the book you are reading is in, but from just about every series she’s written from Trusty Co. to Oak Hill Va. and Peaceful Harbor Md. So there’s a Whiskey and a few Bradens in this story along with the Steeles and the Silvers. This of course is another great book with plenty of romance, sex and warm family feels.
Where oh where does Melissa Foster find these sexy, delicious men and the women who capture and tame their hearts? CAUGHT BY LOVE, book #3 in The Steeles of Silver Island series, had two such wonderful characters and their story had me laughing, shedding a few tears, and pulling my hair in frustration. Ms. Foster had me captivated with every word, description, and scene. My emotions ran riot experiencing everything from elation to devastation, so prepare for a rough rollercoaster ride.
Reining in his desire for her was like trying to stop a surging storm."
After meeting Archer Steele in the two previous Steele novels, I couldn't wait for this enigmatic, grumpy, arrogant man to have his story told. His temper has a very short fuse, the love and protectiveness he has for his family is undeniable, yet he does not see himself in a relationship because to him they complicate things, and he does not do complications. Indi Oliver is the perfect woman for Archer. She's a woman who is willing to follow her dreams, even if it means losing those she loves. She's stubborn, feisty, independent, and extremely successful in her chosen field of make-up artist. Now she yearns to transfer that success to a business of her own. Will these two, neither looking for a relationship, find something they never wanted or expected?
"She was his sustenance, the only thing that had ever centered him, and he needed more. Needed a deeper connection as much as he needed air in his lungs."
Archer and Indi's relationship began as friends with benefits, two people whose attraction is electric and whose passion is red hot, they simply cannot keep their hands off one another. They are intense, passionate, all-consuming when they are together, yet in their minds they are only temporary. What happens when hearts become involved? What happens when their intimacy begins to be overridden by the deepening of their friendship? Will Indi be able to show Archer that he is more than a grieving man who is unable to move on from his past? Can she convince him that, no matter what he thinks, he does deserve happiness in his life? Indi Oliver was made for Archer Steele, he just needed to realise it. I loved their light-hearted moments together, especially the snow scene, that just made me sigh so many times. It is the moments when they open up to another about the truths of their lives, that I knew they needed to stay together permanently, and not just be friends with benefits.
"She thought he believed in her, but man, the way she believed in him was everything."
CAUGHT BY LOVE is a story of forgiveness, understanding, family, friendships, dreams, guilt, and love. The way in which Ms. Foster brings all her characters together, making for a wonderful story. The Steele family, especially the brothers with their numerous pranks, and Grandma Lenore, that woman never misses a thing, would have to be one of my favourite families.
Another heart-warming read from Ms. Foster and one that should not be missed.
4.5 stars--CAUGHT BY LOVE is the third instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult THE STEELES OF SILVER ISLAND erotic, romance series- one of the many spin offs from the author’s LOVE IN BLOOM series. This is vintner Archer Steele, and make-up artist/business woman Indira ‘Indi’ Oliver’s story line. CAUGHT BY LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Indi and Archer) CAUGHT BY LOVE follows the building romance and relationship between vintner Archer Steele, and make-up artist/business woman Indira ‘Indi’ Oliver’. Archer Steele doesn’t do relationships, and for the past decade has struggled to forgive himself for the death of someone he loved, and the estrangement from his twin brother Jock, an estrangement that placed hardships on his family and friends. A friends with benefits relationship with Indi Oliver meant never having to succumb to marriage and love but Archer finds himself falling for a woman who is about to move to Silver Island, and set up shop for the foreseeable future. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Indi and Archer, and the potential fall-out as Archer struggles with demons from the past, battling the guilt and turmoil of a loss from which he has yet to recover.
Indi Oliver has always wanted to build a business of her own, and her successful contract working as a make-up artist for New York’s elite gave our heroine a head start with what she had always wanted to do. Silver Island was the perfect setting with the perfect clientele, and a man who worshipped the ground upon which she walked but Indi knew there would never be a happily ever after with Archer Steele, a man’s whose rough exterior held a secret of which he could never forgive.
The relationship between Indi and Archer is one of immediate attraction that begins as a friends with benefits in which Indi battles between head and heart knowing there would never be a future with Archer Steele. Archer is unable to forgive himself for sins of the past, and in this, Archer believes he is not worthy of his own happiness, not even with the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful, flirty, charming and familiar secondary and supporting characters, most of whom we have met in the numerous interconnected series and spin offs. Melissa Foster easily weaves and inserts her previous story line characters such that everyone feels like family and home.
CAUGHT BY LOVE is another story of family and friendships, relationships and love; grief and guilt, forgiveness and acceptance. The character driven premise is edgy yet heart warming ; the characters are animated, stubborn and charismatic; the romance is inspiring and provocative.
I wish I had the kind of magic that literally could pull me into a book and make me live in the fictional town as a part of the community. Or be invisible for the characters but see the story play out. I would definitely lock myself on Silver Island, where the people are more friendly, and love is harder than anywhere else. Feeling the community spirit and family bonds, witnessing characters fall in love and chase their dreams would be my dream come through.
They say that the people who don't want a relationship, who fight the attraction and chemistry between them and another person, will fall the hardest. For the broody winemaker, Archer Steele, that is entirely accurate. And who would have guessed the moody man who rarely smiles could turn into this sweet romantic lover? I didn't see it coming, but he opened up and showed what he hid behind the hard exterior. My heart broke discovering what he had been carrying for all these years, but I admired how he broke free of his demons to be the man Indi deserves. Sassy, intelligent, confident, Indi Oliver is ready to go after her dreams. She is a fantastic person who I admire, and when I grow up, I want to be her. Indi is the key to open Archer's lock/heart, they fit together perfectly. This couple has an intense relationship, a natural, strong connection, and a chemistry that can burn the Island down. Their banter and teasing is cute and hot at the same time, but their conversations and how they help and comfort each other are heartwarming. There is plenty of steam in this story, and each scene is hotter than the other. Archer is a dominant and the best dirty talker there is.
We got little bits of info about previous couples throughout the story, and I live for these small updates. Following their lives from afar makes it feel like I never really have to say goodbye to the characters that feel like friends. I adore the Steele family, they tease each other non-stop, but in the end, they walk through fire for each other. None of them is perfect, but they love each other, and that will always be the most important.
Caught By Love was like opening a wound that had been closed for a long time. There is a nasty infection, deep pain, and it isn't looking good. But with the best care and lots of love, it slowly starts to heal so that in the end, everything feels and looks better than ever before. The intense pain and deep, raw emotions in this story hit me right in the heart before I got high on Archer and Indie's love and closed the book with the biggest smile and eagerness for the next story in the series.
I received an ARC from the author but am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Caught by Love (The Steeles at Silver Island 3) by Melissa Foster 5 Maple Leaf Review
Her greediness for him was like gasoline to their inferno, She was his sustenance, the only thing that had ever centred him, and he needed more.
Archer is grumpy, arrogant, and does not want anything permanent. Indi loves her job as a makeup artist but has always wanted to open her own boutique for her cosmetics line. Indi decides she is going to make her dream come true and open a boutique on Silver Island, she tells Archer their no-strings-attached arrangement is over so she can focus on her business. Archer does not take it well and tries to keep Indi within his grasp. As things being to change between them, Archer's demons may just be too much to overcome.
"You're definitely more like a barrel of whiskey than a tall glass of champagne. You can be tough to swallow, but you're so worth the burn."
A fun and emotional journey of overcoming the obstacles in the way of your dreams. I smiled, laughed, and cried while going on this journey with Archer and Indi. Archer and Indi are absolutely explosive both in and out of the bedroom. The tension and banter between them is fierce and their chemistry is off the charts hot. I absolutely love the big family love that comes out in all of the Love in Bloom books. It was great to see old favourites and meet some new characters that for sure will become new favourites. I can not wait for more books in the Love in Bloom world.
Caught by Love is a small town, enemies-with-benefits, best friend's sibling romance told in the dual third-person point of view.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the third book in this series, but as any Melissa Foster fan will know her books are all interlinked and we meet old friends along the way and make new ones ready for their own adventure. Interestingly in this one we find out the information (you may need a tissue at this stage) which starts of the Silver Harbour series - which I also highly recommend.
Archer has absolutely no interest in settling down, so spending time with Indi when she comes to visit the island suits him fine. However, when she pulls away because she is moving there, she causes his brain, body and heart to find themselves at odds with each other. So we just know how much fun we are going to have watching him fight all those feelings. We also know how hard he is going to have to work to make it clear that he is serious about the change of status that he is planning, when he finally works it out himself.
I have loved Indi's free spirit and intensity from first meeting her. She is a huge success, and has a glamour-filled life-style, yet craves some form of recognition from her parents. Seeing how Archer's family gives love freely to all the siblings, whatever they may do, makes her even more aware of what she missed out on. When Archer realises this, he is truly shocked at how she is treated, making us all love him that little bit more!
As always, this book is full of our favourite characters, interfering as they do best, loving, sharing, advising and supporting. Totally immersive, engaging and happiness- inducing reading. Thank you Melissa Foster, and I can't wait to see what you create next!
Indi is a woman wanting to follow her dreams despite her parents disapproval. She has wanted to open her own boutique and move to the island for a while and now her dream is in sight she decides she needs to protect her reputation by breaking things off with her best friend's brother, Archer. He however is determined to not let her go without a fight.
Archer.... where to start! I am not going to lie for one heart stopping moment I thought Melissa had created a leading male character I didn't like!! Luckily I was wrong. Is Archer arrogant? Yes! Is he irritating at times? Yes! Does he think before he speaks? Absolutely! However this man is a fierce protector of those he loves and does realise his faults so works at putting them right for Indi.
Archer's past plays a huge part in the way he is today, he lost his best friend, he feels he let his sister down when she was fighting cancer, he feels he has let his whole family down but his biggest regret is his feud with his twin brother. Once he lets go of all that guilt he realises he can be the man he needs to be for Indi. It takes time but you see a change in Archer and with Indi's belief in him and the support of his family he moves forward.
Archer as much as he fights it at the start loves Indi with everything he has and you see that with his gestures, big ones (in more ways than one ;) ). I won't spoil it but you will be squealing at the restaurant, fashion week and the end!
.......Indi didn't stand a chance!
Another highly recommended book by my favourite author, please read, you will not be disappointed!
Ok Archer can be an abrasive jerk sometimes, but it’s obvious from the beginning of this story he’s changing for the better. He has many moments where you can feel him reflecting and trying to figure out what is happening to him. Well, Indi is happening to him. She’s getting under his skin. Indi has never asked Archer to change, after all they have a sex only relationship. Archer doesn’t want a relationship anyway and Indi has far more important things going on in her life like the opening of her new boutique and moving permanently to Silver Island. Over time they both unknowingly have begun to grow in their non existent relationship and in their personal lives. Indi’s parents are trying to push her into a relationship with another man and they think her dreams of owning her own boutique selling her own skin care line are frivolous. Archer and her siblings are there to support her. There was a confusing moment for me when I realized that both Maybe We Will and Maybe We Should took place after this storyline, but were released first. Yes, I understand that those two books are released by a different publisher and are a different series. I completely understand how important what happens in Caught By Love affects Archer and needs to be there. It was just a few “what the heck” moments for me when I realized the book order. Archer and Indi are a great couple and I enjoyed their story.
Another amazing book by Melissa Foster is out. This is one I was highly waiting for after reading Jock’s story. This one is called Caught by love and follows Archer’s story. I must say it was worth the wait.
If you read Jock’s story then you know Archer is his brother and they’ve been through some extremely difficult times. Archer still hasn’t forgiven himself for losing his best friend and pushing his brother away during his time of grief. Archer thinks love and relationships are not meant for him because he will just hurt them.
Indie is a strong self-reliant businesswoman who has to put up with her parents' old-time beliefs that a woman is only meant to get married, have babies, and be a quiet obedient wife. That is not on Indie’s agenda at all. She is feisty, demanding, and knows what she wants and she goes for it.
When Archer and Indie meet it’s electric and they can’t deny themselves. It’s meant to be a friends with benefits thing but they just can not stop the growing feelings. Can they go cold turkey or will they have to give in to desire? You will have to read to find out!
I absolutely loved this story! It was hot and intense and so emotional. It’s a definite must-read. I recommend it fully! Get it today.
Another great book in this series! Archer was such a complicated and troubled man. He was different from other guys who were players as he blamed himself for so many bad things that happened and were out of his control. I was glad he met his match with Indi. I loved her and she wasn’t afraid to call Archer on his bad behavior. She knew the score with Archer that he wasn’t relationship material, but the two were working on getting to know each other better. Archer was so blessed to have the family he did that was so supportive and always there for each other. Unfortunately Indi didn’t have supportive parents. They were rich and felt that everyone had to look a certain way, act a certain way, be with the right kind of people, etc. luckily Indi did have a good brother and sister that supported her the best they could. Indi was a whiz with makeup and hair that she even had her own line of wonderful makeup. I was glad to see her open a shop on the island. The people on the island were so helpful and felt like family. I so enjoyed watching Archer grow and trust Indi. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
