In Beastlands you'll go on an adventure with a group of 3 teenage friends, Mac, Ava and Ping. They're on a journey to find out what Mac's father, an explorer, was trying to discover before he disappeared. On this quest their friendships will be put to the test all while a tyrannical King looks to outlaw Keepers from the land.
My gripe with Ava on #4 is fixed with the first pages. The bond between the three characters is incredibly genuine, and there's also a feeling of individual growth (some more than others). Page could is super low, which is criminal given how good the line work is, but also a great testament to how Curtis manages to tell a great story using said resource so sparingly. 7.5/10
This entire series moves very quickly and has a short page count, but it also occassionally feels like transition scenes are missing. I also generally don't like a lot of violence, and there was quite a bit in this issue. Otherwise, I loved the friendship theme and the art in this issue.
