Launching my North American tour is everything I ever dreamed it would be.
Except …
I only see Gabby in weekends shoehorned around shows. Stolen moments where she can come to me or I can take a break to visit her. Holed up together in a hotel.
It’s better than nothing, but it’s a far cry from my ideal. Without her none of this would be happening. It seems wrong that she’s not with me.
Gabby:
Depressing. Stressful. Lonely.
Returning to school without Jonathan is everything I feared it would be. Even surrounded by friends, there’s no one who understands the difficulties of juggling all the demands on my time.
I want to quit and join Jonathan, but how can I give up on my own dreams? I know I wouldn’t be happy just as a rockstar's girlfriend.
But my punishing schedule, jet lag, and distance all strain our relationship and communication. And I’m afraid that if we continue like this, something will eventually break.
Part rockstar romance, part coming of age story, Recapitulation brings us full circle, back to Marycliff University, but with a twist. It’s a story of staying true to yourself and following your dreams in the face of pressure on all sides.
The stunning conclusion to Jonathan and Gabby’s tale gives you everything you want in a romance novel—sizzling heat, heartfelt emotion, and most importantly, the happily ever after.
Jerica MacMillan has been reading romance since she stumbled into the paperback section of the library as a middle schooler. And it's been an ongoing love affair ever since!

This definitely cannot be read as a standalone as it follows on the character's lives from the first two books. I love the fact that this author always keeps you on your toes by trying to guess what is going to happen in her books. Not that you could guess in a million years. Her plot twists always throw me off. Fantastic storyline and I have really enjoyed following the characters journeys along with them. Fantastic book!
Recapitulation by Jerica MacMillan an exhilarating five-star read. This is the third book in the Songs and Sonatas series and also the final book in the series it reaches the conclusion to Jonathon and Gabbys tale and if like me you have read all three books in the series you will have fallen in love with them both and bee rooting for their long distance relationship, have been there with them through the good times and bad, know how hard they have been trying. This is the story of following your dreams even if it will break you. I am a huge rock star romance fan, there is just something magical about music it makes the story so much deeper for me and I have some songs that I will associate with books for the rest of my life. This book is no exception and I will always think fondly of it when I hear a certain song. This read has been an epic love story and the love I have seen will be remembered fondly, if also a little bitter sweet. I must say that Jonathon and Gabby aren’t the only people you meet in this story, and I for one can’t wait to hear from others. If you want to swoon and fall deeply for a story then this is the story for you.
This is the third book from the series Songs and Sonatas. You need to read the first two books before you read this one because this book starts right where the second one leaves off. I love rockstar romances but this series has been my favorite so far. I was so excited when this book came out I started it immediately. This story kept me glued to my Kindle all night long. I fell in love with Gabby and Jonathan all over again. Gabby is now back from being with Jonathan most of the summer. She is having a hard time adjusting to school when Jonathan is not with her. Gabby has friends at school but it is not the same. The only time they get to see each other is when he is close to her and she has time from school to fly to him. Gabby has been working on a secret project and she finally shows it to Jonathan and he so proud of her. Gabby ends up getting a taste of what fame could be like but she also has other dreams she wants to do. Will Gabby’s dreams change? Can they make this long distance relationship work or will someone have to give up their dreams to be together? This story is absolutely amazing. It is bittersweet that Gabby’s and Jonathan’s story has ended. The storyline has it all hot romance, hardships, and life lessons. This book will give you all of the feels. These two characters have had their ups and downs but they are an epic couple that you will not forget. You will fall in love with these characters all over again. Gabby is still a sweetheart but she is now getting a backbone and is tired of hearing that she is not good enough for Jonathan. She loves Jonathan for the man not the fame. Jonathan is still a hot rockstar but he has a heart of gold. He always wants what’s best for Gabby even if it makes him miserable. The way he treats Gabby will make you swoon. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This amazing author will keep you on your toes until the very end. I hope this is not the last we hear from this amazing couple. I can’t wait to see what this talented author has in store for us next.
After having read Double Exposition and Development from the Songs and Sonatas and becoming so intimate with both Gabby and Jonathon, I couldn't wait to get back into their fictional world and spend more time with them. After seeing their relationship flourish through many different phases of Gabby's college life and Jonathon's rise to fame, I just knew this couple had more passion and music left in them! It wasn't long into Recapitulation that Jerica had me firmly entrenched in the drama of their long distance relationship and Gabby and Jonathon discovering all sorts of new things about themselves and their music!
I was fascinated with how much Gabby grows in every way from her music, to her maturity about life, and her love for Jonathon. She shows the world that she is a musician and will shine and share it with the world no matter what and nothing is going to stop her from pursuing music and being a part of Jonathon's world.
Jonathon is still breaking hearts and making music with Gabby by his side or just on his mind being hundreds of miles away. I was so glad to see that no matter what, Jonathon didn't become famous and leave Gabby behind. She is always at the forefront of his mind when he makes any decisions whether it is personal or professional. What more could you ask for from a hot rock star than delicious muscles, maturity beyond his years, and consideration for the love of his life!
Jerica Macmillan takes us deep into this fictional world that is ruled by music and love equally for the ultimate angsty and scorching finale. So hold onto your hearts readers because Jerica will take you on a journey filled with amazing, harmonious characters that you will love to watch grow and become stronger throughout their beautiful, heart touching story in the Songs and Sonatas series. I always look forward to reading more of Jerica's work and falling madly in love all over again!
Recapitulation (Songs and Sontas Book 3) by Jerica Macmillan is the third book in her Songs and Sontas series. I highly recommend reading these books in order in order to enhance your enjoyment of this series. This is the continuation of Jonathan and Gabby's story and it is the final book in this series. I have enjoyed this series and a little sad for it to end but I know this author will have something even better for us. This is my favorite book of the three as it is well written and easy flowing. There is a little less drama in this book and you can see the growth of these two characters since the first book. This book will show you that if your love is strong enough it can make it through anything. In this book Jonathan goes on tour and Gabby goes back to college. Their relationship is put to the test with distance and some strain but the question remains is their love strong enough to come out on top? They are able to steal moments here and there but things are tough being apart. They will take you on a few twists and turns that you won't see coming that will leave you wanting more. Their chemistry has always been off the charts and in this book that is no different. They are hot and steamy together! What will they do when they are faced with choices that could change their lives? Will Gabby go after her dream or will she sacrifice it? There were a few times that they made me a little mad because they need to learn to communicate better and I just wanted to yell at them. But then there was other times when they left me in a awww moment. It was great seeing the secondary characters backing off of them and letting them live their lives. I am hoping that we will see these characters again in another series all of their own. I highly suggest this story as I know you will want to see what happens to Jonathan and Gabby in their final scene! Is there a happy ending for them or will fate play a hand in destroying them?
Once again Jerica MacMillan brings readers a fantastic story to get lost in. This is the ending to Jonathan and Gabby's story, and in it she gave me everything I could possibly have hoped for and so much more.
I loved that there wasn't a bunch of rehashing of things that had already been gone over in the previous two books, merely resolution of lingering issues or simple reassurances.
I love that Jerica didn't go for the obvious options as a way to add drama or an additional twist to the story. All of the struggles that Jonathan and Gabby dealt with felt real. They felt genuine and like something a couple in their position would legitimately have to deal with.
And honestly, I just loved the way that she wrapped everything up. I love that Jonathan stayed true to who he's always been, this amazingly supportive boyfriend despite the superstar he is. I love that Gabby got to come to her own realizations about what she really wanted.
I definitely felt like both Gabby and Jonathan grew over the course of these three books. Who they were, what they wanted, and what it would take to make them happy changed and evolved along with them.
When this story was over I was sad to know that I wouldn't get much more of these two characters other than however much they might feature in future connected stories but I am so very happy with the finished product. And I get the added bonus of looking forward to future stories in the Marycliff world. I am keeping my fingers crossed for both of Jonathan's brothers to get their own stories as well as Charlie and Lauren getting stories as well.
Gabby's journey is completed in this final part of the trilogy. I have to say, I really did like the writing style and pace of this author in the first 2 books, but felt this one dragged ever so slightly. The emphasis on the relationship was on the sex which was a little repetitive, and I did find myself skimming though these scenes. I needed to see their behaviour outside of the bedroom, but the focus was really on them as characters apart from each other and Gabby's challenges as she balances college with what could be a promising musical career handed to her on a plate. It was a pretty satisfactory HEA, I had a few issues with Gabby regressing emotionally at the climax to this book. As a character she has always been direct, honest and open with Jonathon so the big relationship challenge in this book prior to the HEA was a little hard for me to believe. But I also just wanted them to get to their ending also. And I felt like this last one meandered its way to an unconvincing falling out. Having said that, I really enjoyed this trilogy - it was super easy to read, light on the angst, and I enjoyed the journey of Gabby's character.
In music theory, the recapitulation is one of the sections of a movement written in sonata form. The recapitulation occurs after the movement's development section, and typically presents once more the musical themes from the movement's exposition. – Wikipedia
As explained in the definition of recapitulation, this final ‘chapter’ in the story of Gabby and Jonathan once more presents the love that they have for music and for each other. Their story is an unusual one in that they are both secure enough in themselves and each other that there is not the angst that typically accompanies “new age/rock star” dramas.
I think it is very important to read all three books in this series in order because there is a lot going on. Each book is very detailed with music theory and character development.
It has been a pleasure watching Jonathan and Gabby grow and navigate their worlds as individuals and as a team.
This is the third book in the series, and you need to read the other in order to understand this one. So, we get to see Jonathan and Gabby’s lives as they juggle the rock star life and the normal life of a young woman. I mean, the idea of dating a rock star is appealing, but on the day to day business, it’s another thing coming, even when these two love each other.
Anyway, in the course of these three books we saw how Jonathan and Gabby grew, as individuals and as a couple, and in this one we see them really cement that growth. What does Jonathan want? What does Gabby want? And how do those wants come together. I liked the resolution in this one, it all comes together beautifully.
It also leaves threads for new adventures for the gang of friends, so we’re not done with this universe.
*Thank you to the author for providing an ARC in exchange of my honest opinion*
I’m still swooning over the conclusion to this beautiful series! Gabby and Jonathan’s love for each other is so strong, so lovely, and so believable that you’ll be pulled into their story and won’t want to leave. Music is once again a captivating character, and the surprising direction it takes put a huge smile on my face. It’s perfect! As is the intelligent writing, wonderful characters, sweet and sexy love story, and just the right touch of tension. I loved watching how Gabby and Jonathan’s relationship matures as they deal with inevitable separation now that Jonathan has begun his concert tour. These two refused to let anything come between them! I loved it! Do your heart and soul a favor and pick up the Songs & Sonata series. I’ve been a fan of Jerica MacMillan ever since she debuted, and this is her best work yet.
Final book for this series. It was well worth the wait. Jonathan and Gabby have grown so much as a couple and they've not let anyone break them apart. Twists and turns certainly tested their relationship but they work through it. This is by far the best book of them all. Jerica has kept me so interested in what's going to happen with this couple I'm almost sad to see the end. It's been a great ride. I definitely learned more about the composition of music than I ever thought I'd know.
Wow what an ending. This is the third and final book in this series and I have to say that it tied it all together so nicely. I think this one might be my favorite of all 3 of the books. This book shows us how much in love Gabby and Jonathan are. It shows us how much they have each grown as a person over the series. It shows us that sometime the dreams and ambitions you have as a kid and teenager can change but that is okay. Choosing a new path for yourself doesn't mean that you have given up it means you are becoming an adult. Jonathan and Gabby shows us that if you love someone enough that you honestly don't need anything else. In the end if that love is strong enough it will survive anything. Amazing close to this series and I am hoping that next series is Charlies !! I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
Recapitulation is the third book in the Songs and Sonatas series. It's can't be read as a standalone. It's the last one in Jonathan and Gabby's story. I loved these two in the first book. In the second book I was still hooked on the story but was losing interest in them. This one renewed my love for Gabby and Jonathan and definitely kept me interested. I was rooting for them and needed them to have a happy ever after.
This story pulled me in so many directions and I think is my favorite of their 3-book story. I am very much looking forward to reading the next 2 books which I believe center on Charlie and her finally getting a break.
This book in the final in the series and man what a good book! Jonathan and Gabby finally get what they want out of life each other! They had a long road ahead of them but in the end they had each other and that was all that mattered to them! This series is a must read in my book!
Recapitulation by Jerica MacMillan is the third book in the Songs and Sonatas series. I have not read the other books in the series but this book can be read on it’s own. However, I highly recommend reading the book in succession because this is the final chapter for the two main characters romantic tale.
Jonathan and Gabby are the two main character of this story. Jonathan is a musician who finds so much joy in performing. He has started a North American tour which keeps him on the road. This tour is a huge break for him and it is everything he imagined it would be. The excitement, the euphoria, the pride, the success, it’s all so captivating to Jonathan. The one downside to all this is he is not able to share it with Gabby. Since Gabby started school again and Jonathan is always on the road, they are only able to see each other on the weekends if the show schedule allows. There are rare occasions where Gabby can get to Jonathan or he can take a break to be with her, but it never seems like enough. Jonathan knows that although this is not his ideal situation, seeing her any off chance he can, none of his success would have been possible without Gabby.
Gabby had to return back to college after spending the much of the summer with Jonathan. Gabby may have her friends with her but nothing can replace Jonathan. She feels lonely, stressed, and depressed as she tries to juggle all that is demanded of her. She has an inner conflict of leaving it all behind to join Jonathan on the road, but then she doesn't know if she should give up on her own dreams. Everything going on in her life and the traveling to see him is starting to put a strain on many aspects of her life. She is fearful that continuing like this might destroy their relationship.
As someone who has been faced with a long distance relationship, this book spoke volumes to me. I could sympathize with Gabby and all the emotions she went through. It’s never easy but those moments you share together are special and I believe the author did a wonderful job portraying the good time as well as the bad. I loved reading the relationship that Jonathan and Gabby shared and how devoted they were to each other.
This series for me has been just Everything and more, and I am so sad that this is the 3rd and final book. I have become quite attached to Jonathan and Gabby. I feel like I have lived through their relationship with them, The joy laughter ups downs and tears. I feel like we are old friends. It has been such a pleasure to read about their beautiful love story and travel this rocky road with them. They have been through so much and in this book it seems like their fight for approval from Family and friends work colleagues and college professors continues. This is the ultimate test, a make or break for them as Jonathan is contracted to go on tour without Gabby by his side, as she goes back to school to pursue her dreams. Will the separation be too much for them? Will they survive? Or can their love and undeniable bond withstand a long distance relationship? They are once again faced with trying to prove to the world that they can and will be together against all odds, and despite their commitments to their musical careers and dreams. Jerica spins a magical realistic and believable tale of what it must be like to be dating a Star. How lonely and demanding it can be but also how thrilling passionate and sexy it can be too. Her descriptions painted the picture perfectly in my mind. The sexy times had me blushing numerous times too they were a whirlwind of passion tenderness need and intoxicating erotic delight.. Two souls just so hungry for one another it was magical. I simply could not get enough of this emotional conclusion, I greedily devoured each page, although I still hunger for more. Because Jerica's words were like music to my ears and sang a song to fill my heart so full of love for this book. Love Truly does conquer all. I would suggest getting all 3 books and binge reading them back to back, you won't want to put them down. A spectacular 5 glorious Stars for this fantastic book and spellbinding series.
“But wherever you are is my home.” Recapitulation is book three in the Songs and Sonatas series by Jerica MacMillan. I would definitely suggest reading books one and two in order before reading this one as it will make sense and flow much better. It is meant to be read as a series not a stand alone novel. This book picks up right where book two left off with Gabby returning to school in and Jonathan starting his world tour. They are however going to try the long-distance relationship thing. Both of them struggle with this set-up but know it is for the best for both of them at the time and in the long run will be what will benefit them the most in their future if they can just stick it out for the year. “The exhilaration of performing, of doing what I know I was always meant to do, is tempered by her absence. I wish she was here. That’s the overwhelming thought that’s followed me every day since she left. I carry her absence with me like a physical thing, an ever-present accessory for my wardrobe.” ~Jonathan “I hate that he’s leaving already. I want him to stay. I want to go with him. I want…” ~ Gabby Aside from missing each other they run into other snags here and there that they must overcome as well. Will they be able to overcome them and find their happily ever after? Or will it turn into a disaster for them both and heartache all around? “What if the promises we made each other under different-better-circumstances are now holding her back? I don’t think I could live with myself.” I was sad to see this series end but loved how Jerica tied it all together and closed all the loose ends up for the reader. I do hope the way it ended foreshadowed a new upcoming series with other secondary characters in the same idea of this storytelling. I know I would love a chance to fall in love with the music and harmonies of love all over again.
Recapitulation (Songs and Sonatas Book 3 ) By Jerica MacMillan
Recapitulation (Songs and Sonatas Book 3 ) By Jerica MacMillan is the third book in her Songs and Sonatas series. I've loved this series and highly recommended you read them in order, ypu get a better understanding of what's going on. I literally devoured this book, once I started reading I could not put it down. This is the continuance of Jonathan and Gabby’s story and the last book in this series.I'm sad to see this series end but I'm super excited to see what Jerica comes up with next.Ive read several other books from her and I'm a big fan of her writing. This story shows us how much these two characters have grown and there's a little less drama,I think this is my favorite of this series but I've loved the whole series..This story also is about showing us that if your love for one another is strong enough it can make it through anything. Gabby is back at College and Jonathan is out on tour.Their relationship is definitely put to the test with the distance between them . although it has put a strain on them Can their love be enough to make it through being apart.Things are definitely tough on them being apart even though they get a couple of moments here and there. They definitely take you on a few twists and turns and my emotions were all over the place with this book. These two have always had off the charts chemistry. What happens when they are faced with difficult choices?.How does one chose?Does Gabby go after her dream ?I could go on and on but I don't want to ruin the story. But I do highly recommend you read this book especially if you like me was dying to finish to know what happens between them.i can't wait to read more from this author.
Recapitulation is the 3rd and final book in the Songs and Sonatas series and it did not disappoint. From the beginning of this series, the love story of Jonathan and Gabby has been captivating. Their relationship has been built and flourished through many ups and downs. In Recapitulation, they are again faced with the challenge of proving that their love is the real deal. Jonathan’s career is taking him on tour and Gabby is back at school. They face a long time apart and have some more adversary that is thrown their way. Gabby is as strong-willed as ever in this book. She feels like a lot of people expect their relationship to fail and for her to fail. She seems as strong as ever in her determination to prove them wrong. Jonathan has to balance the revitalization of his career, his relationship with Gabby and his relationship with his family. I love the way the author matures Gabby and Jonathan throughout the series. She is consistent with the supporting characters throughout the series and follows their relationship with main characters. Recapitulation focuses on Jonathan and Gabby’s persistence in making their relationship work despite everything thrown their way and people who don’t believe their love will survive the distance and stress that’s put upon it. This book culminates a fantastic series in which each book stood by the theory that loves conquers all. I highly recommend both Recapitulation and the Songs and Sonatas series.
This is the final book in the series and it is a great ending to a wonderful love story.
Jonathan is launching his tour and it is everything that he expected and more. The fans are loving his music and his songs are climbing the charts. Jonathan only wishes that he can share his success with Gabby on a daily basis but it is not possible since Gabby is going back to school.
Gabby misses Jonathan and she is not enjoying school as much as she thought she would. Since she was out in Los Angeles most of summer with Jonathan working on composing and recording, she questions whether she wants to pursue an education and career playing violin in an orchestra. Getting to see Jonathan only on weekends when one of them can travel to the other makes it hard on Gabby trying to focus on her education.
Gabby questions her choices while continuing to compose in secret and then performing with Jonathan on stage. Gabby is insecure about what she wants, what Jonathan, and trying to live up to other's expectations of her. Gabby gets to her breaking point but an unlikely source helps her see things more clearly about what she really wants out of life - personally and professionally.
This is such a warm and heartfelt story about 2 young people trying to figure out how to get want they want professionally and be able to have the relationship that they want with each other.
Recapitulation concludes Jerica MacMillan’s musical romance trilogy Songs and Sonatas. I have loved this series from start to finish! It brings back fond memories of my time as a music student with so much relatable detail (I’ve definitely done a fair few of the same assignments as Gabby! And some of the teachers reminded me a lot of my own teachers). Reading this series has even helped me feel more motivated to work towards my own musical goals! The level of detail extends into every aspect of Gabby and Jonathan’s world, from Jonathan’s pre- and post-concert vocal routine to Gabby’s practice routine. For me, this makes it a thoroughly enjoyable read as there’s so much I can relate to that I really get drawn into the story. It also adds a lot of interest and shapes the flow of the relationship in exciting ways. The scenes where the characters are performing are particularly exciting to read! I also like that we get to see some of the peripheral characters, like Lauren, Charlotte and Colt progressing towards their dreams. It’s great to have the variety and to be reminded of how success can mean very different things to different people. This has been a great series, and the finale gets another 5 stars from me! I’d recommend it to any musicians who enjoy reading romance as it’s so much fun to read!
Recapitulation Bu Jerica MacMillan is Book 3 in the Songs and Sonatas Series. This book is part of the series and should not be read as a stand-alone.
Jonathan and Gabby have had such a bumpy road during their relationship. At times they were happy as any other couple and at others they were lost without eachother. They didn’t get to see eachother often which put a lot of stress on their relationship. Then throw in their parents, and that brought on a whole other level of stress. Jonathan’s mother hasn’t been exactly happy over their blossoming relationship and neither has Fanny’s dad.
Gabby is still in college and can’t really skip classes to go visit Jonathan and most of the professors tell her to think about herself and what she wants. It seems everyone is against this relationship.
Gabby and Jonathan really do love eachother but, while Jonathan is on tour, it’s so hard for them to see eachother. Is this just young love that you learn from or can they overcome the odds? Jonathan would love nothing more then to have her go on tour with him but, how can that work while she is still in school working on her own degree.
This book was such a great read and made the series that much better. I have been a fan of Jerica’s writing for while. Her Marycliff boys totally won me over and I’m constantly looking for new books to read from her.
Recapitulation (Songs & Sonatas book 3) – Not a standalone! By Jerica MacMillan 5 stars
I was so excited to read more of Jonathon and Gabby’s story! Over the last two books I have really taken this young couple into my heart and want everything to work out for them. They have had so many obstacles thrown in their way along the course of their relationship. I think what I loved most about this book was just how much the characters grew, especially Gabby. Usually when following the same characters over a few books I get a little bored but I didn’t at all with this couple. Their character development was brilliant and they grew with each instalment of their story. I still loved the music undertones to the story and everything it meant to both Gabby and Jonathon. I’m pretty sure that Jonathon was just perfection! He was everything a male lead should be in a book and his devotion to Gabby was lovely to read about. I have read quite a few books by this author now and I think this one is probably one of my favourites, it was well written and the scenes between Gabby and Jonathon were HOT!! Insanely HOT!!! I thought that this was a perfect ending to this series and I can’t wait to read more from Jerica MacMillan in the future!! Her books never disappoint!!
Recapitulation by Jerica MacMillian is the third book in her Songs and Sonatas series, and this book might just be my favorite out of the entire series. I have read several of MacMillian’s books in the past, and have yet to find a book of hers that I haven’t loved. Recapitulation continues where book two leaves of with the relationship between Jonathan and Gabby. Songs and Sonatas follows this relationship through the good and bad, with Jonathan being a touring Rock Star and Gabby attempting a life of normalcy with going to college. This book doesn’t have nearly the amount of drama that is found within the other two books, and you get to see how the relationship grows between Jonathan and Gabby, the twists and turns that make up a good relationship but they still have their challenges. There were times that the communication skills between these two were really lacking, which made for some tense reading worrying where MacMillian was going to take it, but I was really happy with the ending overall of the series. I would suggest reading this series in order, as Jonathan and Gabby’s story works best in order. I totally recommend any story by MacMillian, and while I am sad to see Songs and Sonatas ending, I can’t wait to see what she brings to her readers next.
Recapitulation is the third book in the Songs and Sonatas series by Jerica MacMillian. I LOVED this book and series. I love how the music is as much a part of the story as the romance part of it. I am a Marching Band Mom and was able to learn a lot about music in the four years my daughter has been in High School. Though this is totally different I felt a small connection to both Jonathan and Gabby because of that and then I started thinking about how my daughter isn't much younger than Gabby and how this time next year she will be in college trying to find her way the way Gabby has been trying.
Gabby and Jonathan go through so much while Gabby is juggling school, practice and trying to spend time with Jonathan while he is out touring. He tries to be supportive and not push too much to cause Gabby give up her dreams but at the same time he wants nothing more than to have her with him all of the time.
I think this could be the end for the most part of their story but I could see them popping up in future stories. I have my fingers crossed on who the next book is about and hope I'm right!
Recapitulation is book 3 in the Songs and Sonatas series by Jerica MacMillan and her story telling and writing keep on getting better with each book. You must read the books in order to be captivated by the world she creates and the characters that you will grow to love. This is a young love rockstar romance that has it all.
Gabby is tired of hearing that she is not good doing enough, that she is not good enough. Where once her priorities laid, now she knows what she wants but how will she get there if she is unsure about the one she loves.
Jonathan know what he wants and he wants what’s best for Gabby even if it means they are miles apart. He wants her to have her hopes and dreams as much as it make him miserable that she is not always with him. But what if those hopes and dreams have changed?
Sweet and steamy hot loving, angst and hardships and just some of the things we see as we watch our two characters grow and learn life lessons and love with an unbreakable bond. I would love to read more on this amazing couple and I can’t wait to see what Jerica has in store for us next.
Recapitulation is the third book in the Songs and Sonatas series by Jerica MacMillan, and seem to be the conclusion to Jonathan and Gabby’s story, but not the conclusion to the series- as the end of this story lays the foundations for a new book focused on two different characters. I am intrigued to see what Ms. MacMillan does with it, and whether it will live up to these last three books. I am excited to find out. In this story we finally discover if Jonathan and Gabby can make this long-distance thing work, or if they finally succumb and crumble under all the pressure. Both of them have matured so much over the course of the series, both professionally and personally. They have also come to realise what is most important to them. Will this knowledge bring them closer together, or drive them apart? Will they both be happy with the result? Will their ‘happily-ever-after’ require a sacrifice that neither is prepared to make? You really should read this series and discover all the wonderful details for yourself! It really is worth the read, especially if you love college/rock star/ coming of age/ following your dreams, stories.
Recapitulation by Jerica MacMillan is by far the best book of the series! This is the third book in her Songs and Sonatas series. It's not to be read as a standalone as it starts off where the second book left off. So, I would suggest reading them in order, Double Exposition being the first book and Development the second. Just like the others it's funny, steamy, full of love and many obstacles. The story flows so well and the music details really add so much depth to the story.
I'm sad to see this series come to an end! I've really enjoyed reading Gabby and Jonathan's story from the beginning. The characters developed so much from book one to now both individually and as a couple. I absolutely loved being able to read their story through all their stages in their relationship. They certainly had many obstacles to overcome yet their love was so strong that it could withstand just about anything.
Gabby and Jonathan's love is so inspirational as time and time again it was them against the world and they always came out on top. I loved reading this rockstar romance and would absolutely recommend this series to others!
