Sloane Monroe Stories - Mystery Novella Series (with characters from the main series)
Getting a call in the middle of the night is never a good sign. Surprisingly, it is Sloane's old 'friend' Cooper calling in a favor. She finds herself traveling to New Orleans to help find a missing girl, but working with the authorities is never an easy thing when it isn't your home turf. This series is a series of novellas so the story-lines move at a quicker pace than a regular novel, and we don't get too in depth with the descriptive's. As far as the mystery goes, there are several possible suspects all with questionable motives. No one person looks better suited than the next. This crime involves Coopers family, so we get a little more backstory on him. (If you are unfamiliar with Sloane Monroe, Coop and her had been in a relationship at one point in time... earlier in the original Sloane series, but parted ways and have a kinda love/hate relationship. You do not need to read any other books to follow along, but this may help understand the dynamics of their relationship in this book.) Other than those two, all the other characters are new to the readers. There is a little bit of thriller/suspense to the story as certain situations arise. There is no sexual content, but there is some mild violence including gun use.
This is the latest installment in the Sloane Monroe Deadly Sins series by Cheryl Bradshaw. I enjoy these books as Sloane is a strong woman who knows what she wants but, yet is still a romantic at heart.
In this book, she travels to New Orleans after receiving a call from her grandmother regarding an apparent kidnapping. The victim is a niece of Sloane’s long-time nemesis, Coop. They have a storied history and he claims not to want her help but deep down you know he will grudgingly accept her assistance.
Keep in mind that this is a novella and it moves quickly so pay attention! The plot is good and despite the shorter length packs a punch. I recommend this one and all the others in the series. Try it out and see for yourself!
Sloane goes to New Orleans to help find Coop's niece who is a singer and just performed at a music festival. She has been missing for a few hours when her parents get a ransom message. Dale is Coop's brother, and they don't actually get along well. Sloane and Coop go talk to Gina, a band member who is Dean Watson's sister. Coop's niece was abducted from Dean's house, Dean was shot and his roommate killed. He is also the niece's ex-boyfriend. Sloane finds out many secrets looking for Willow - along with the reason why she was kidnapped. But can they get her back alive? You will need to read this story to find out.
I love Sloane, so I will take her any way I can even if it's a short story like this. Sloane gets a call from her grandmother in the middle of the night, which is never a good sign, Willow, the niece of Coop is missing. Coop tells her not to come, but shows up at the airport to pick her up. This was a fast paced story but well written. I really enjoyed it and look forward to, hopefully, getting a longer Sloane book soon!
This is an exceptional novella in the Sloane Monroe series! The story gives a more in depth look at Coop, his family dynamic and his relationship with Sloane. I always appreciate how the author can write such a full storyline in a shortened format, without it ever seeming as though it's rushed or incomplete. And, I am a huge Sloane Monroe fan, so these novellas help me wait for the next novel with slightly less impatience. Definitely recommend!
I love this series. The character Sloane, is so real. Her emotions are like mystery own. Laugh, cry, anger, and love all wrapped up in her stories. If you have never read her series, I highly recommend them. The series follows through her life from being single, tormenting a man, to marriage. Each book gets better. I know you will enjoy them as much as me. Thank you Cheryl Bradshaw for creating Sloane Monroe!
This is more about Sloane's grandmother's boyfriend, Cooper. His niece has been kidnapped. Sloane goes to New Orleans where all this has happened.
We as humans envy people who are born rich or make money to make them rich.
This is sorta of a sad story in that, as a young boy, Alex who was best friends with Willow when they were younger, was told that Willow's father did not want him playing with Willow anymore.
free ebook wish i could read the series in order, but i got this one free first very short book, i like longer ones

Sloane Monroe,a strong and smart who does what she thinks is right, even if she is told her help is not needed. Coop's niece is missing. Coop and Sloane have history so she knows she has to help. She is determined to find the clues she needs to solve it and if told she cannot do something she will find a way around it.
I am so glad I stumbled upon the Sloane Monroe series several years ago. They are all great. In The Deadly Sins series, Envy is the latest by Cheryl Bradshaw. Envy has lies, kidnapping and murder. Sloane travels to help her grandmother and an old frenemy with a kidnapping case. There are many twists and turns. I recommend this book and all of the Sloane Monroe books.
This is a novella, so quick read, but satisfying. I love Bradshaw's writing because it is quick and fast-paced. The plot takes many turns before finding the kidnapper. The main character, Sloane, is always fun to read and follow. This book brings back Cooper, her ex, and the chief of police, whose niece is kidnapped in New Orleans. Lots of tension to add to the mystery.
Sloane is called to New Orleans by Coop, who has just discovered that his niece has been missing. She had been performing in a music festival in her quest to become a star. As time is in the essence, Coop & Sloane start working together, much to the chagrin of the police. It’s a fast paced story with interesting characters and lots of twists and turns.
I love the Sloane mysteries. Even though this was a short story, it grabs you from the beginning! Cheryl Bradshaw is a great mystery writer. Sloane gets a call from her grandmother to help find her boyfriends missing granddaughter. Can Sloane find the girl? Will she be welcomed or will there be opposition? Another great mystery that you won’t be disappointed in.
A fast paced action packed novella. Sloane gets a call in the middle of the night and heads out to help Cooper's family. His niece Willow is missing and the race to get her back safe is intense. Interesting characters make for a good read that will get your heart racing a bit.
I enjoy her Sloane Monroe character and the stories she's in but I definitely like the build up that occurs in the full length over the novellas. Still a nice read with a complex thought process.
A great short read by Ms. Bradshaw that involved a kidnapping. Sloan Monroe was asked to help an old fried find his niece who had been kidnapped. It was a fast read and ended not quite as I expected, but was understandable.
.True to form Ms. Bradshaw quickly draws the reader into the next mystery for PI Sloan to solve. She brings her characters alive and you can see them in action while reading. Another page turner for sure. It leaves you wanting more... Guess I'll have to wait for the next book.
Another great read from Bradshaw, bringing Sloane and Coop together again. If you don’t know their relationship you need to read the rest of the Sloane Monroe series. Easy quick read if you are looking for a quick escape from reality.
A fast passed novella that keeps you reading till the end. If you haven't ready any of the Sloane books you can read this and not be lost, but, I love how Coop and Sloane reunite to solve the kidnapping case of Coops's niece . I found this book hard to put down. well worth the read.
Loved getting to see Sloan at her best he!ping rescue a friend's niece. It is a short, easy read but I love anything I can get about Sloan. She has become one of my favorite characters. Find out why Alex is envious of the life he does not have.
I have never read a book by Cheryl I didn't love. I'm buying as many of her books as I can. I also love her character Sloane Monroe. I hope Cheryl writes many more books with her as the main character.
A good fast paced story with Sloane and Cooper, through common sense and follow up and understanding between the two of them, even with their previous marriage mix-ups, were able to apprehend the culprit and find Cooper's niece.
Sometimes, using money causes more damage than it's worth. Follow Sloane as she discover s the secrets surrounding a kidnaping of the niece of a friend while on tour. Light reading with a moral.
I'm guessing the book was free as I'd be very disappointed if I'd paid for it. I haven't read any of the books in the series and I won't. The book had a very "thrown together" vibe and was more a short story than a novel...
This is an amazing story. it’s told in such a way as to draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat. It’s exciting and tense at the same time. Great author.
