The Billionaire Prince’s Nanny

Rate this book
Katie Crestley is in a world of trouble. A blacklisted journalist and desperate for money, Katie takes the only other job she’s remotely qualified for: nanny to the two adopted daughters of the youngest prince of Stolvenia. But just as she’s given up on her dream of becoming a legitimate journalist, the editor of a major Stolvenian newspaper approaches her. With a new anti-royalist movement growing in the small country, getting the dirt on the royal family could lead to big things for Katie’s career. She’s reluctant, but if she’d rather stick to her morals, then the editor will just have to let the royal family know about her scandalous past—ensuring she’ll be fired.

With little other choice, Katie caves to the blackmail and agrees to spy on her boss. Problem is, the longer she works for Prince Armin Albericht Von Roth, the more she realizes what a good, selfless man he is. Worse, she’s falling hard for him and knows he’ll never forgive her if he finds out what she’s done…

Armin always does what is right and believes everyone else should follow suit. Structure, rules, and protocol are what’s important. So he’s taken aback when he learns his late best friend named him guardian of his two little girls. What does he know about children? He’d thought a nanny would set things straight, but Katie is far too pretty, far too free spirited, far too distracting. She doesn’t follow rules. She doesn’t understand the importance of structure. She’s getting under his skin, disrupting not only his life, but his very thoughts—which seem to be centered more and more on her…

But as Armin begins to fall for his daughters’ beautiful nanny, can he forgive her once he finds out what she’s really doing in the palace? Or will it be best for him and his daughters to forget the pretty American who made their lives a little brighter?

This novel contains sexual content and profanity.

Note - I recieved an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Fluff.

That's the first word that comes to my mind after reading this book. It was a completely superficial comtemporary novel - a fluff read, basically. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but unfortunately not to my taste.

The entire political spin, was too simplistic to be believable. Monarchy and politics are not supposed to be simplistic. Few pictures here and there, and the entire opinion of the country changes? I would rather, such superficial political tension was not introduced in the book. The entire situation created was a lot of baloney!

The other part that I hard time digesting was the whole blackmail scenario. It was utter nonsense. And it made the heroine come off as stupid for falling for it. As well as the prince. Really? Have you ever heard of such gross security misstep in any of the real monarchy family's households? For a smart journalist, the heroine was pretty naive and gullible. In my opinion, the entire blackmail situation went too far for just few suggestive photos. Also, I just can't imagine a reporter (any real reporter) blackmailing someone for rumours and gossip, at the risk of his career. I did like that at least in the end, Katie stood up to him.

As for the romance, it was short and sweet. Too short, to be honest. There are less than a dozen times that the couple meets in the entire book, and this includes the first meeting where Armin hires Katie. What I did like was that Armin was not a typical arrogant alpha Prince. I would have definitely liked to read more about him. I just wish there had been more character development and longer romance.

In conclusion, I would rate this 3 out of 5 stars and recommend to all the fluffly romance readers out there.

Good, but too predictable
3.5
Katie, a former journalist in a tabloid, is hired as a nanny of the adopted children of Prince Armin, in a shaky monarchy attacked by the media. After a difficult beginning between them, they are attracted to each other: she by his magnetism and the man hidden under the shell, and he by this woman who supports him, teaches him to be a better leader, and her love for his daughters. However, from the beginning of her work, Katie is the victim of a blackmail that would definitely cut her off from her career as a journalist if she does not give information about the royal family.
I liked the story, but once the basics are set, the rest is too predictable.

A little tamer and more focused on the drama than typical for Leslie North’s books, The Billionaire Prince’s Nanny follows the story of a disgraced American journalist as she takes a position as a nanny for the adopted daughters of the prince of a European country. Katie loves to write, but when her last piece caused an unexpected scandal, it meant that finding work has proved difficult. Since she used to be a nanny in the past, she takes on the position. Unfortunately, she gets blackmailed into finding dirt on the man she is working for, Prince Armin. As Katie and Armin get closer, Katie feels more and more guilt about deceiving him.

I enjoyed the book, and appreciated that the relationship was developed well - we see Armin and Katie spending time with his new daughters frequently, and they have a connection. It definitely has a lower heat factor than most of Leslie North’s books - Armin is a pretty stoic guy so we don’t see a lot of passion from him, but it’s obvious that he cares for Katie. It’s a short book, and I think I would’ve liked it better if more time was spent with just Armin and Katie instead of so much focus being on the blackmail, but it’s a solid story and worth a read.

Katie's a journalist, but she made an ethical mistake and has been blacklisted from her profession. Prince Armin's closed friend and his wife died in an accident, and he has adopted their twin daughter. He hires Katie to be their nanny. The girls adore her, and the prince is smitten with her, until it leads to something more. Unfortunately, she's being blackmailed into providing information on the royal family to a sleazy newspaper. And her sleazy contact threatens to ruin her. There is eventually a very happy ending, but not before a lot of unnecessary heartbreak. I've not ever read a Leslie North book that was the least bit disappointing, and the same is true of this one. It was a fairly short read, and a plot that was interesting but not too complicated, and I loved every minute of it!

Katie needs a career change, so she takes a job as a nanny to Armin, a prince who has adopted his late best friend's orphaned daughters. The side story of Katie being blackmailed by a sleazy journalist isn't the biggest problem. Instead Katie has her hands full trying to get Armin to loosen up and spend more time getting to know his daughters. Set in a fictional country, there's also a bit of anti-monarchy drama that allows the story to give us a bit of Armin's family history as it explains his priorities. The romance holds no surprises, ending in an HEA that is more than satisfying. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A highly unlikely story of a disgraced journalist who is hired as a nanny to the children of a prince in a small monarchy in Europe. Said journalist is being blackmailed to help overthrow the royal family, but rescues everyone and wins the heart of the prince and his people....
The story itself is written in an engaging way, entertaining and well-written. I may be a little over-critical - but coming from Europe this story just seems off to me and for that reason I could not enjoy it. As someone less familiar with the settings, you might enjoy the story a lot more than I did.

This was a fantastic story! I love the first book of her new series. I love reading anything by Leslie North. I couldn't put it down.

Katie needs a job. She applies to be a nanny for the royal family. Prince Armin hires her to take care of his two girls. He adopted them after their parents died. She was a journalist before her career blew up. The girls opened up to Katie and she helps Prince Armin connect with them. She is approached by someone to get information about the Prince and the girls. She doesn't want to hurt them but has no choice. What will happen when the truth comes out?

This is a very cute feel good romance.
It is about an American journalist who is unable to get a writing job, and are therefore taking a position as a nanny for the adopted daughters of a European prince.

It is one of those books that brighten your day, and after finishing it leaves you in a better place. Very enjoyable!

I received a complimentary copy of this novella from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is a start to a new series. The series is about three royal brothers. One of which is king and two crown princes. This is about the younger brother Armin.

Armin hires Katie to be a nanny to his new adopted daughters. They lost both of their parents recently. Their father was Armin's best friend. Katie is a disgraced American reporter. She fled to Europe seeking a new chance but is unable to get another reporting job. Needing money desperately, she falls back on a job that she had while going to school, that of being a nanny.

The beginning of this book seemed a little contrived. Since there isn't much to it, I forced myself to read the entire thing. It did get a little better later on.

There was what you would almost call a sexy scene. It wasn't too much by way of graphic detail and was over quickly.

Prince Armin and Katie

An enjoyable story that I liked because Prince Armin had just adopted his two goddaughters because their parents died and having lived a structured life as a royal, did not believe he could be a good father to the girls. He did what his parents did and hired a nanny who he thought would do it all for him. But Katie was not an ordinary nanny. She saw the good in Armin and showed him little by little he could be a good father.

But, things were not peaceful across the land, and our Katie got herself in a bit of trouble that she couldn’t get out of, and if you want to know what she got involved in and how the story ended up, you’ll love reading it.

A nice story with some drama and misunderstandings about a prince and a commoner. She is a disgraced journalist who accidentally ends up being the nanny to two beautiful girls whose parents were killed in an auto accident. The prince went to college with their father and he has adopted them.
He is trying to raise them in the Royal way and Katie, the American journalist, tries to show him that he has to give them room to breathe and adjust to their loss. She went through a loss like theirs.
Well done and easy to read. Light angst but happy ending.

*2 RIDICULOUS FLUFF STARS*

I didn't expect much from this, but it somehow still let me down.
The whole blackmail story was just ridiculous, the insta-love between Katie and Armin was so unbelievable (they barely interact and suddenly they're tearing each other's clothes off).
Yeah no, it just didn't do anything for me.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Probably amongst the worst books I’ve ever read. Maybe the plot could have helped to make it somewhat entertaining but the execution was awful! There’s no chemistry between the characters and things go at an extremely fast pace that it would be imposible to develop any kind of relationship that way. Even if you’re bored (like I was), don’t. Just don’t.

Having been caught up in a scandal, Katie Crestley couldn’t hope to get a journalist job in the United States. So now she was in Stolvenia where there was political unrest with people wanting to get rid of the monarchy. But until she landed a journalist job, she needed to find work to pay the bills, and her fallback skills were in the area of childcare. She applied to be nanny for the youngest prince of Stolvenia, Armin. Not only would she be perfect for the job, but it would give her a good close look at how the monarchy really worked. But from the start of the interview, the woman told her “Hiring a former journalist to care for the prince’s children is a risk. And while you are qualified in terms of experience, I’m not convinced that you are the best candidate for the job.” She had to agree with that, but she needed this job. However, she was turned away.

Heading out of the building, a ball rolled toward her and Lily, one of the Prince’s adopted children, ran after it. She asked for biscuits for herself and her sister, Seraphine. Since Katie didn’t have any, she offered to tell a story instead and the girls dragged her off to the sitting room. She read the book they found 3 times and they were laughing aloud when Prince Armin walked in! As she tried to scurry out, he asked if had interviewed for the nanny position. He told her the girls had not been so taken with anyone else and if she wanted to be their nanny, she could start the next morning!

Everything had been going so well for a month, but one day the girls were unhappy. The sun was out and the park was nearby – they wanted to go there. So Katie finally gave in and they sneaked out to the park. A man sat on the bench next to her and introduced himself as Ciril Papazyan, editor for the Stolvenian Defender. She immediately told him she had nothing to say to him. She tried to move away, but he offered her an opportunity – which she refused. He wanted her to watch the royal family, take some notes, and pass them along to him every once in a while. He even hinted at a job offer. Maybe she would have been tempted, but no longer. She didn’t want to dig up dirt on people who trusted her! She called the girls to her and they returned home. The Prince argues with her about taking the girls out against their schedule, and Katie tells him he needs to spend more time with them and that her parents died when she was that age – so she knows what they need.

When Papazyan demands a meeting, he blackmails Katie into getting him information with the threat of revealing photos of the two of them having a very amiable conversation in the park the day she and the girls sneaked out. He smirked that it would be difficult to explain to Prince Armin. She still tries to protect the royal family and give the editor nothing inflammatory. But she can’t go on feeling like a betrayer and tells Prince Armin the truth as she resigns. Will that be the end of it? Will he let her walk away? Will Papazyan viciously attack the royal family with lies anyway? And who else at the palace may be involved?

This was a very good story that keeps the reader attentive as we see good people with good intentions trying to do the right thing while everything goes wrong. Prince Armin is trying to build a new orphanage for children and a school for them so they can be educated – but the builder doesn’t want his reputation hurt by working for the monarchy. Katie is trying to do right by the family and is blackmailed so that the editor can get his sensationalist, scandalous dirt on the royals, even if he has to lie. With all of this intrigue, you won’t want to ignore this book! Grab your copy and find out if good can come out of the chaos!

Katie is a journalist who has lost both her professional reputation and her muse. She has traveled to Europe from the States in hopes of finding a job in her chosen profession, but no reputable publication will hire her. She decides to apply for the position of nanny for Prince Armin of Stolvenia, who has recently adopted two orphaned daughters of his best friend. She is turned away because her experience in being a nanny was during her college years and her journalism career is suspect. Leaving the interview, Katie encounters the Prince’s two young daughters. They become fast friends, and Prince Armin decides that her rapport with his daughters is enough reason to hire her. As time passes, Katie encourages the Prince to spend more time with the young girls who are still grieving the loss of their parents. She advises him that though the girls need structure, the occasional impromptu outing or adventure is also good for them all. Her role of nanny would be ideal if she was not being blackmailed by an unscrupulous newspaper editor to find dirt on the royal family. Soon, the boundaries between royalty and commoner disappear between Prince Armin and Katie when he takes her in his arms. He feels that Katie allows him to reveal and be the man behind the Prince, and she feels he owns her heart and could make her life complete She is well aware that their time together is limited. Inevitably, her blackmailer will expose her and print a scandalous story about the royals. With her seeming betrayal standing between them, Prince Armin accepts her resignation, vowing to close his heart to all but his young daughters. Katie leaves heartbroken and unsure of what she can do to redeem herself, but determined to do something, anything, to find her way back to her Prince and his adorable daughters. Read this sweet, elegantly written romance to discover what happens next in this duo’s story.

This is a quicky novella able to be read in less than 3 hours. A young American women, desperate to land a job after having lost her job as a journalist for a tabloid magazine, has taken to traveling to other countries looking for work. With her reputation having been ruined and unable to find another job writing, she falls onto her only other experience.. childcare. And it just so happens she has an interview (to nanny) with the royal family (of a country that is about to struggle with the possibility of the monarchy crumbling down.) Things go well until she meets a mysterious stranger. There is a lot of political mumbo jumbo and it does play a part in the story. She's keeping secrets from her employer (the Prince.) He is fighting to keep his children out of the public's eye (for their own safety,) as well as holding strong on all the mess is that happening in the media surrounding the monarchy. There is a small amount of sexual content, nothing too heavy. It does have that big blow-out and the grand gesture. It alternates between POVs. There are only a few side characters, keeping it simple, though they each play a big part in the story. The romance aspect kinda came out of nowhere. He was cold and somewhat stand offish, then all of a sudden, Boom! There was a little bit of suspense. Her secrets and the suspect of some insider spy. The one negative I had was all the hoopla about her being disgraced in the public eye from her failed journalist career, and when we find out what exactly happened, it seemed so mild (in comparison to what we see in reality.) I didn't feel her 'blacklisted' status seemed appropriate and rather far fetched. I do know this is fiction, but it made it feel unrealistic and over-exaggerated. The story flowed smoothly and as I mentioned, reads quickly.

Katie had just been settling into her career in journalism when she got caught in drama about a famous couple and this lead to her being blacklisted. She just couldn't get a job at all and she was beginning to be desperate when she learns of a nanny post in Europe looking after two adorable little girls who have been recently orphaned and are now living with their Guardian. Their guardian turns out to be Prince Armin who is single and loves his ,now, 'daughters' very much but due to difficulties within the country he doesn't have as much time to spend with them as he would like. His older brother is the King but Armin also plays a major role in supporting the monarchy in the country. When he meets Katie she is not what he expected but he is conflicted with his attraction to her and to his duty to his brother the King. As the chemistry between these two begins to sparkle, Katie is approached by a man who knows of her past and he blackmails her into giving him 'insider' information about the Prince which she is loathe to do.She does her best to give only info that will help promote the King and monarchy much to the creeps displeasure. Can these secrets keep Armin and Katie apart? This is the first in the new trilogy by the best selling author,Leslie North. I did enjoy the story and liked Katie and Armin very much.I did have questions unanswered, like why the girls came to an unmarried Prince but that did not detract from my enjoyment of the storyline. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Most definitely recommended.

Disgraced journalist.Katie Crestley has been blacklisted making finding a writing job impossible. She hears about unrest in Stolvenia and hopes to be able to write about it, but she has writers block. She decides to take a job as a nanny to one of the princes. Prince Armin Albericht Von Roth adopted his best friend’s twin girls after their parents died. They have an immediate attraction. However, Katie finds herself being blackmailed after a sleazy reporter approaches in the park. She gives in. With all that stands between them , the class differences, the secrecy and her fears is a relationship even possible?

This is a wonderful contemporary romance between a royal price and a nanny. The characters are amazingly well defined and the narration fills in their backgrounds allowing the reader to grow attached to them and invested in their story. The dialogue adds a lot to the depth of the book. The writer weaves all the elements of a great romance, including a steamy scene, to provide a compelling story. It is a story about trust, compassion, finding your true self and what is really important. I loved how the characters grew and developed over the course of the novel. The emotional drama is impactful as the characters deal with internal struggles and external obstacles. It is the first in a series and I, for one, can not wait until the next one comes out.

Prince Armin needs a nanny for his twin daughters. They are really the daughters of his best friend who was killed with his wife but Armin adopted them to give them a home.
Katie is a journalist who has been caught in a scandal and is trying to find a place she can work. She is running out of options and money. She has worked as a nanny in the past and thinks she can do the job.
Armin and his family are fighting a faction in the country who want to dissolve the monarchy. And he wants to start an orphanage for his country. A place where those children with no other options will be able to go to be cared for.
Papazyan is a journalist who is all about sensationalism and knows Katie’s history. He blackmails her to collect dirt on Armin and the royal family that he can publish. Truth and accuracy do not matter to him. The more sensational the story, the better. What does it matter if he hurts people?
Fear drives Katie as she tries to not provide any information that could hurt the royal family and yet also keeps her job safe. How do you protect all people involved and the feelings you have for a special man?
And is Katie the only person in the palace who is telling stories and providing information?

Can a Nanny really get her Prince???

The Billionaire Prince's Nanny is the first book in the European Billionaire Beaus series by Leslie North. As per Leslie's style this story is filled with a lot of sweetness, intrigue, smoking hot chemistry and wit.

Katie is running away from a situation in the US and has ended up in Stolvenia as a nanny because she needs the money. Let's just say that her dream is not caring for children but she dives right in and gives it her best effort. However, her dream may end up being closer than she thinks when an opportunity comes knocking. But what will it cost her and those around her if she steps through that door and grab it.

Prince Armin is the youngest prince of Stolvenia and is Katie's boss. There is unrest in the small country of Stolvenia and forces about that want to oust the monarchy. Katie ends up being a pawn in this game but will be she taken off the board or will become a knight and fight for the kingdom.

The question becomes can you do the right thing when everything keeps going wrong for you? Katie has to decide if she will do the right thing even if it costs her her dream and a lot more? But maybe doing the right thing comes with more rewards than she ever dreamed off.

Kate is a journalist that has been traveling all over Europe looking for a job. She goes to Stolvenia when she heard about the uprising in the country and lands as a journalist job getting dirt on the Royal Family.
Katie goes on the interview to be a nanny to the Princes little girls.
The interview did not go well as she was leaving she met the two daughters who wanted biscuits. She compromised and told them a story

When Katie Crestley finds herself blackballed in her professional field, through no fault of her own, she backs up and applies for a position she has experience in. She was a Nanny during her years at college to support herself.

When Prince Armin stumbles across a strange lady, beautiful one at that, playing with his daughters whom he adopted after the death of their parents. Their Father was his best friend. He hired her on the spot because it was the first time since the death of their parents he had heard them laugh and he liked the sound and had to keep the woman that made it happen as their Nanny.

The chemistry was unmistakable between Armin and Katie and she seemed to bring out a different side of him, the parent.
But Katie was being blackmailed for information on the royal family and she could not produce the information that the rag of a newspaper was looking for so she had to come clean with Armin and left immediately.
Was this the end before it ever really began or would Armin go after her? Grab a copy of this book, a glass of wine and get ready for a little adventure as another Prince bites the dust, this one is Prince of Stolvenia and another handsome one ;)

Katie, a blacklisted journalist, needs a job so she agrees to be a nanny for a prince's 2 adopted daughters. Just as she agrees to the nanny job, the editor of a major Stolvenian newspaper with an offer to help get dirt on the royal family. This could be the big break she's been waiting for but she'd rather stick to her morals. If she doesn't agree the editor assures her he will let the royal family know all about her past and that won't be good. Working for the prince seems to be harder than she thought it would as she finds herself falling for him and sees him as a good person.

Armin is named the guardian of his late friends 2 daughters, even though he knows nothing about children. Hiring a nanny seems to be the perfect solution to his predicament but when the nanny turns out to be pretty, distracting and a free spirit and she doesn't follow the rules. This doesn't seem to stop him from falling for her but once he finds out what she's really up to, will he be able to forgive her?

Plenty of suspense, some blackmail, and romance. Definitely an enjoyable read.
