OMG!! I inhaled this book. This is the first in a new series and I have never read a book before where the pre-conceived ideas of good and evil are more shades of grey than clear cut. The characters are well developed and the story, while it offers a happy end there are still some open questions - which I can't wait to read about in the next book. S. Lawrence nailed it with this book. A great romance with wonderful characters.

Amazing Beginning!
In “Chosen Blood” S. Lawrence has reimagined the angels fall from Heaven and the war between angels in a very original tale. After seven male Archangels chose to have families with mortals, the seven female Archangels chosen by God as their mates become disenchanted with heaven, and like a woman scorned kill them and every other angel they can find, which begins the war in Heaven. The fallen Archangels begin killing innocents, mostly women, to find the decedents of the Archangels as they are prophesied to save humanity with the help of demon princes of Hell. This first book in the series is Lillian and Torryn’s story. Lillian is a slave to the Archangel Seraphina and her fallen and is the decedent of Archangel Michael. Torryn was an angel killed by an Archangel and Lucifer brought his soul back from the nothingness. This emotional and exciting storyline’s plot has a quick pacing and countless plot twists filled with suspense, drama, action, abuse, and steamy chemistry. I finished this tale in two hours and have not been able to get the characters out of my mind and the cliffhanger didn’t help. I’m excited for the next book in this series.

Not for me

The story itself is fine. It has a good premise, but it all felt too unreal to me, too rushed. The characters have all suffered major traumas of some kind, but they seem to just let these go and don’t behave like actual victims would (not even a tiny bit). That alone bothered me, but the thing that made it too much for me was the constant switching between character POVs for each chapter. I don’t mind the switching when it’s not virtually every chapter and includes more than the main focuses of this particular novel. I’m sure it makes some sense with the series, but for me it was too much in a single story. The writing IS good though, so I’m likely to try other series by the author to see if there’s something I’ll enjoy more.

Not for me

This book didn't capture me like so many others. There are many grammatical errors and omissions of clarity. The story could be interesting, but I am finding it difficult to understand and follow. Lillian was taken as a child by the evil angels who were created to be with the archangels. After the Archangels went to reach and coupled with human women, these women have been rogue. They are murderers and evil.

The prophecy says the descendants of the Archangel will end the war. Lillian is the first one found. Who the others are.....no one knows yet.

Interesting but not exciting.

S Lawrence has re-opened my eyes to the paranormal genre, she knocked it out-of-the park with Demons and Angels in Chosen Blood, making me want more!

There is so much I enjoyed about this one:
- The New Orleans backdrop
- Lillian and Grace's relationship
- The chemistry between Lilian & Torryn
- The changes that are taking place in Lillian and how she handles them, her reactions are priceless
- How Lillian sees Luc, the fact that she is not afraid and sees the good in him
- The Fallen are cRaZy, especially Seraphina
- How it left me with so many questions and yearning for more

Wow what an amazing story I love angel and demon stories and in this one it’s the complete opposite the angels are the bad guys bent on destruction and the demons are the good guys. The characters Lilian and Torryn are fantastic they are complete opposites but they fit well together, this story had me hooked and I can’t wait to start on book 2. This is my 1st read and review for this author it’s amazing and after reading this story I bought books 2 and 3 as well. This is a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I definitely recommend this book.

This is a good start to a series. There were a few typos and things but the story is really good and engaging. There was a good amount of action and a decent amount of twists and turns. I can’t wait to find out what will happen next for these characters. I enjoyed the switching of POVs as the story progressed. It gave a much better understanding of the different characters.

Incredible!

I absolutely love this book. It caught my attention at the beginning with an interesting concept, then i was hooked until the very end. Maybe Lucifer and his demons are not the monsters we've always been sold.

Mehhh

It has potential. It felt really short. Not much details and kind of rushed. When it ended I was like, is that it? There was no character or relationship development.

Amazing story

Only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the amount of typos. Almost like the editor only paid attention some of the time. Otherwise absolutely fabulous!

Huh

I’m so confused. There’s a prophecy that has to do with the seven princes of hell and the seven female descendants. But the characters and story line is confusing me.

UUMMM…Wow. One word is what I have for you about this one. It had it all. Romance, super cool world, super cool society structure, hot sex, and emotion. But the story line just blew me away. Where does she come up with these fantastical ideas of a society and a world within our own? I’m always amazed at S. Lawrence’s imagination.

This story gripped me from the beginning and kept me enthralled till the end. I simply can’t wait for book two. Lillian is a downtrodden version of Cinderella while Torryn is a version of a beast. These two make an unlikely couple, but were made for one another in a different realm. The story follows their journey from attraction to love and discovery of how much more they can be together. Their friends also develop the their love and encourage rather than deter it. This is a refreshing viewpoint I haven’t seen in romance in a while. The ultimate story leaves us just as the fight for humanity begins to get warmed up. Killing is the ultimate feeling of joy for one species while protection and flight is the ultimate joy for the other species of Angels.

By the end of this book you will be invested in the story of the demons and angels to the point of dreaming about gaining your own wings. I can simply imagine the beauty of their wings in this story and it blows my mind. If you’ve never read paranormal before, this is a good way to start. The story is clean, the relationships straight forward and the scenery exceptional. I’m giving this a 5 of 5 propellers because I know this is going to stay with me for a long time and I’m dying to see the next book.

First in a brand new series.
Forget what you thought you knew about angels and demons, the fallen and the morning star.
We’re talking asskicking avenging demons and poisonous spiteful jealous angel bitches..and the earth which is the chosen battlefield.

Filled with suspense, story and wonderful chemistry between the characters not just our feature H and h, this is a book for readers who love their stories to be based in mythology, lore and history.

I enjoyed ever second and cannot wait for the next instalment. This is a story that i know is going to develop and evolve with each book and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

DNF - quit at 25%
I was lost from the start -like I missed a prequel or something that had the events leading up to the war amongst the angels & so I just couldn't get into this. The concept is unique for angels, demons, fallen angels, to not be black and white, or good versus evil. The main characters weren't interesting to me, they did not create an interest for me to continue either.

At my age, life is to short & my time to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

An angel and a demon

Interesting twist on heaven and hell, angels and demons, good and bad. The story didn't flow well and there are missing words and grammar issues. At times it felt like the story was all over the place, setting for the next 6 books, a book for each demon to find their angel and fight a war with the fallen. There are sexual scenes. Not a cliffhanger but it sets up the next book. I don't think I will move on to the next book, the story was ok, but I hate long drawn out story lines and series.

I'm into just the 3rd or 4th chapter and I can't keep reading this book. It's extremely rare for me to give up on a book but I'm doing so now. I don't even have a clue what's going on, who the characters are or why I should even care. At times it's hard to tell which character is even speaking and I just cant be bothered.

Oh and someone might want to tell the author that cats aren't like dogs, you can't tell it's a boy cat just by it rubbing around you. It's not like it's got junk hanging between its legs.
