In the second book of the Remington Mansion Mystery series, time travelers Josie Matthews and David Remington visit 1936 Hollywood to fight Nazi influence in Los Angeles.
When Josie Matthews accidentally traveled back to a house party in 1929, little did she know she was changing history for the worse. It was only after returning to modern-day Oregon that she realized she had inadvertently prolonged World War II. She and her husband, David Remington, must now go back to correct history, being careful not to change anything again.
In 1936 they reunite with friends, including actor Kurt Franklin whose new German girlfriend may be a Nazi spy. As Hollywood studios court the German film market and local communists clash with the Los Angeles chapter of the Hitler Youth, associates of Josie and David are killed by the Tinseltown Murderer -- and all signs point to the fact it's someone they know. Josie and David have to fix history without becoming the Tinseltown Murderer's next victims.
Set in a fascinating period of real-life Los Angeles, THE TINSELTOWN MURDERER is a fictional story of crime, friendship and the perfect martini, during Hollywood's golden age.

This is the second book of the Remington Mansion Mystery series, in which our time travelers Josie Matthews and David Remington try to correct their apparent change of the past. They are in for an adventure neither will forget as they visit 1936 Hollywood to confront Nazi's and Communists.
I am really impressed with the plot and I loved the alternate history hypothesis the author presented as her fictional characters put themselves in danger for the greater good.
As usual, Ms. Driscoll excels in bringing her characters to life with her penchant for fun and witty dialog, and strong female characters. I actually admired one of the nemesis of our Josie, the heroine. I really hope she shows up in the future books!
If you are a fan of the Amazon series 'Man in the High Castle' I think you'll like this story. I was truly educated about the Nazi/Communist movement that existed here in America in the '30's.
And the cliffhanger? It had me on pins and needles! I can't wait for the next installment!
If you haven't picked this one up yet, I strongly recommend you do.
2nd instalment in this trilogy. Interesting premise for storyline. Quite different from her historical romances which are like smuggling under a comfy blanket on a rainy day.
I enjoyed this book. It was a quick, easy read that kept me engaged. There were times when the plot of Josie & David having affected World War II with their time travel was a little ridiculous. Like why WW II? Surely something with the Senator that died instead of Mickey or Kurt would have affected something first. And the cliff hanger at the end of the book - left some questions. Hoping for another book in the series.

I do love this author, but the subject matter of this story was unsettling. There were many surprises along with the murders and the mysteries were not easy to unravel. The surprise ending was actually something I saw coming, at least part of it. The cliffhanger was virtually unexpected, as well as a bit upsetting.
I enjoyed this book, very much. The characters are fleshing out to be quite interesting, the plot is easily followed if you concentrate, and the premise is a good one. So many people who weren't who they seemed to be kept my head spinning. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to the next one.
I didn't enjoy this story as much as I did The Tycoon Murderer even though it was very well-written and featured the same characters.
The Tinseltown Murderer was a real puzzler, but it was all about politics and Hitler and German spies and crime and Hollywood. Although the plot was good, it seemed to move too slowly to keep my attention.
I really enjoyed reading this. I must admit I had not figured out any of it, especially Blake being German and being "Stern". The trip back to the 21st century certainly was a surprise when Greta showed up at the door. Interesting to think about what the world would be like if Pearl Harbor never happened. Very imaginative plot.

This book was so boring I was forcing myself to read it, only because I didn't want to waste my $4. It finally started picking up at the 79% mark. And then it was good until things started to be resolved TOO quickly and easily.
I bought it because I loved the first one, but after this I have no interest in reading the third.
Enjoyed this a lot. Thought I had it figured out and loved seeing Hollywood in the 30’s. There is a great and for me unseen twist. Read the 1st book of this series to really enjoy the trip.
