I’ve been through hell to get to this place. To wear the perfect white dress and stand beside Royce Hale, the liar I tried desperately not to fall in love with and failed.

Or maybe I’m still trapped in hell because the devil is here too. He lurks at my side, plotting terrible ways to make me his.

It’s win at all costs in this family, and I know now just how far the Hales will go to get what they want.

But you can’t survive in a house full of lies without learning the art of deception, and once I become a Hale, I’ll show them exactly what I’ve mastered.

THE DECEPTION is the third and final book in the twisted Filthy Rich Americans trilogy. It should be read after THE INITIATION and THE OBSESSION.

I’ll tell you why I rated this lower the the two previous books. It’s all my personal opinion!
So this series started out great. With a bang.
In book one there’s the cliffhanger of Royce selling his soon to be wife to his father, proving his very words to be true. Royce has a price. That cliffhanger really irritated me. There was no redemption of him in my eyes.
In the second book we have the Macalister and Marist playing chess and their relationship heading towards uncharted territory. For example him gifting her a vibrator with the controls on his phone.
The third book we find out Royce paid Emily’s professor to get her pregnant so he can marry Marist instead.

Now I rant. I was loving Marist and Macalister. Yes he was the villain and he did unforgivable things but I felt he truly loved her. He was fighting for her. He wanted the best for her and he was a man. He wasn’t some boy who sold his soon to be wife and then made the excuse of not being a quick thinker when she confronts him.

Macalister and Marist had chemistry. I felt it. Royce didn’t even tell her he loved her until the last four chapters in the novel. Yet she foolishly picked him. I felt like Marist was just infatuated with Royce and Macalister she didn’t even know how to really pick. She wasn’t even committed. She claimed she’s doing all these deeds so Royce and her can be together. Girl please. Pick a man and develop your relationship there. This has potential. Unfortunately I was disappointed.

The Filthy Rich American series is so damn addictive!! Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop! I inhaled these motherfuckers like popcorn!

I sat here trying to think of a way to explain this series to you, but the only thing that comes to mind is dark, insane soap opera, and I mean that in the best possible way! These books are highly entertaining, steamy, and gloriously twisted. If you're in the mood to binge something fun and fucked up, this series is for you!

P. S. If you know of a similar series I might like, please feel free to recommend them in the comments!

⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

So all in all I’m a little disappointed. I should’ve loved the hell out of this series; it combined two of my favorite things, chess and mythology. The drawback was the ugly truth about the top one percent.

These characters were a great representation of how spoiled and selfish these people are. The fact that they can murder someone and get two years in prison is disgusting. The worst part is how realistic that is, how common something like that is.

Other than not liking the characters in general, the plot was well paced and it was both entertaining and steamy. The strategizing and intrigue was satisfying and I liked how it all came to an action packed conclusion.

"I warned you this day was coming."

The Deception is the third book in the Filthy Rich Americans Series. This series offers a powerful blend of passion, romance, intrigue, mystery, and one complex plot that does not stop. Marist has found herself stuck between two very powerful men. Royce Hale (the love of her life and soon to be husband) and his father Macalister (a powerful alpha who does not stop). Marist has been a chess piece in the Hale game and the time has finally come for her to take charge of the game and get exactly what she wants!

description
"We fucked until we were both sticky with sweat."
The Deception is an absolutely perfect ending to this trilogy. The intensity in the plot continues to twist and turn and in this game, the stakes are high for each of the players. What I found to be most appealing about this series, is the way in which I felt torn over the two men. In some ways, I felt it was apparent who Marist should end up with and yet, there was always something drawing me to the other Hale man. The passion between all three is smoking hot and the action between the sheets kept my Kindle on fire the entire read!
"Even though he’d promised not to lie, he’d changed the rules on me enough times that there was no trust between us."
Overall, Filthy Rich Americans would appeal to any and all contemporary romance readers who enjoy a twisted tale with complex characters and a complex plot. This was my first Nikki Sloane Series and I can guarantee it will not be my last! I am truly looking forward to The Redemption which will hopefully give the other Hale man his own HEA!

This gets 4.25 ⭐️

Still thoroughly enjoyed it, but I don’t know if the ending is something I would have picked out. I was wholeheartedly convinced that Nikki Sloane was going to pull a 180 and end it with Macalister and I feel like maybe I would have enjoyed that as much as her staying with Royce.

Or maybe it’s just how it played out. I was honestly doubting Royce’s intentions the entire series 💀 I couldn’t tell when that bitch was being genuine because I just always thought the other shoe was going to drop LMAO.

Royce and Marist was very sweet though, and Macalister and Marist just gave me all of the sexual tension. I mean, every single scene with them in each book?! I hate to say it but i swooned HEAVILY.

Had the ending been different or more… fitting? Maybe I would have given it 5. Idk, it’s the ending that got me here.

Misfortune had brought me into the family, and now tragedy bound us together forever.

Nikki Sloane wrapped the Filthy Rich Americans series up with a shiny red sinful bow. Saying that this series is easy to read, would be a lie. It’s a page turner and will have you flipping full speed, but this series will also make you squirm with anxiety, with discomfort, and because it gets beyond hot and steamy. The pages are still woven with deceit, lies, and a battle for power, but there is also a love story in this one that builds because certain characters open up more. The Greek mythology aspect is still strong in this one, so if you enjoyed that from the first two it hasn’t strayed.

In this installment Marist FINALLY begins to let her Medusa out, so that she can plan and fight for what she wants. Reading her getting what she wants by her own mind is such a relief. I thought Medusa had been beheaded, but no, she only lie in wait. I don’t want to say much about Royce and Macallister, because I think a lot of us still don’t know 100% where Nikki plans to go with the romance endgame in this one. Being in the dark a bit in this one keeps it more entertaining!

Will there be a happy ending for our gods and goddesses in the filthy rich Hale world? You’ll have to read and see.

I’m mad. I have so many mixed feelings about this book. First of all, the writing was beautiful. I truly love Nikki’s books and will continue to dive into them. I was a die hard Macalister and Marist shipper and had so much hope for them after reading the prologue. My issue is that I never believed Royce loved Marist. Even when he said it, I didn’t believe it. I still am unable to forgive him for selling her out in book 1. He always came off as a spoiled entitled brat and I didn’t like that he kept so many secrets from Marist. From paying someone to get her sister pregnant to lying about his plans- I never fully trusted him. Macalister was cocky and arrogant but he earned it. He’s a brilliant businessman and I saw change in him because of Marist. I truly believed he loved her. But Marist- for whatever fucking reason- remained loyal to Royce? I don’t get it. She seemed like she was falling for Macalister so when she chose Royce, and sided with him in the board room, I was pissed. I cried for Macalister. He was heartbroken. Ugh this book had so much potential but the direction it ended up going in felt cheap and anti climatic. It’s hard for me to give it 2 stars because all of Macalister and marist’s scenes were unfuckingbelievable. But her constant loyalty toward Royce ruined it for me. Honestly, I’ve never been so angry about a book- which is a credit to great writing.

"All I wanted was the one who’d waited a year to have me, even when he wasn’t sure he’d get to. The man I loved who was trying to dethrone a king."

Its no secret that this series/trilogy is by far one of my favorite of the year, one that I am already impatient for the next one before I've even finished the current installment. Its entertaining & addicting, fascinating & completely captivating.....its a page turner of the most epic proportions. Nikki created a beautifully complicated tale where Greek mythology & modern times intertwine effortlessly.  Where the Gods are the most deceitful, & the mere mortals know nothing but to worship them.  So was it a fitting conclusion? Nikki did such a phenomonal job at the final showdown between our modern day Zeus & Ares with the prize being Medusa & HBHC. The complex layers upon layers of suspense were expected (& delivered tenfold), but what I didn't expect was the deep love I felt this time between some of these characters.  The only problem I have now is there is no fourth installment.

“Your tattoo is Medusa,” he said when we entered the endgame, “but I see you more as Nyx.” “Why is that?” I asked. “She’s the only one Zeus feared.”

Book Facts: Told from the POV of our heroine, this is the final installment of the Filthy Rich Americans trilogy. You MUST read both The Initiation & The Obsession. Its the epic conclusion to Royce & Marist's story and does include a HEA. The prologue will turn your world upside down, the twists & turns will give you whiplash, the betrayals & revelations will leave your jaw on the floor.... this is the Hales we are dealing with, nothing is ever as it seems.

Timeline of Thoughts:
Starting: Gawh I hope Marist picks a freaking side for good this time.
1%: I am raging after that prologue. Marist DO NOT end up on my hate list.....please!
10%: I have always sided with Royce, but I really LOVE him now.
16%: I love how it continues to go back to Greek mythology.
21%: Now what did she expect? Seriously I saw that coming before her feet hit the floor.
25%: Good lawd that was HOT!
35%: If I had to rate my top favorite sex scenes in books, that would be one of them. Simply because of the emotion behind every single "action".
37%: "God, I was a stupid mortal. Maybe I deserved to be tricked by the gods for being such a fucking idiot." ---at least she acknowledges it bc it was getting a little "much" for me.
41%: I don't think this is supposed to be as hot as it actually is.
49%: This is going to be a bomb dropped later, I have a feeling.
53%: “No,” he said. “You’ll give that to me, Marist. I was the one who forced that upon you, so it’s my shame now, you understand me?” -- when he says things like this its hard to HATE Macallister. Say what you want about him, but I know without a doubt Marist is the ONLY woman alive that he loves. I can't fault him for that bc she hasn't exactly been an unwilling party to it.
58%: Seriously, I need Macallister to do something unredeemable, this is too special.....it makes me want to see him get his own sort of HEA.
64%: Gawh as much as I love Marist, she continues to not only do this to herself BUT she is being a total hypocrite.
67%: This is the point where I should really be annoyed with her, but I feel like this is the start of her "big" plan.... be patient Jenn.
74%: Ah so this is how the prologue came to be.
89%: Why am I feeling kinda sad right now?
96%: Holy SHIT! Insanity.
Finished: I seriously love Royce & Marist.... but I don't want this ride to be over.
"Deleted Scene": Oh COME ON....that was so wrong to end that so soon! I could read an entire book of just those two like that.

Loves from Book: Royce (seriously LOVE him), "you don't tell me what to do" scene, "make love to me" scene, Macallister's hot af erotic "ideas/behavior", the entire "take me with you" scene.
Honorable Mentions: connection to Greek mythology,  "something blue" scene.
Hates from Book: the prologue, Alice, Marist & her initial inability to not play into Macallister's hand, that I have to hate Macallister, that its over.
Quotes:
His hands . . . his fucking hands went everywhere. He wasn’t exploring, he was triumphant. Ares reveling in the spoils of war.
-Marist

“Each time I think you couldn’t possibly look more beautiful, you prove me wrong.” “Every time I see you in a tuxedo, something bad happens.”
-Macallister & Marist

“Ask me again why I gave you my shares.” “Why’d you do it?” “Because I love you.” He declared it without hesitation. His voice wasn’t loud, but it was powerful. “Whatever you want, it’s yours, Marist. I’d give up everything I have just to be with you, and that includes my name.”
-Royce & Marist

“You don’t have to stay with me out of obligation. You can walk away from all of this . . . I just ask that— fuck— you take me with you.”
-Royce

“I want this,” he growled as his fingers massaged and teased. “Give it to me.”
-Royce

Honorable Mention:
“You’re not a nobody anymore. You’re my wife. Marist fucking Hale.”
-Royce

Final Thoughts:

Currently Me:

1. Never in the history of a beloved series have I ever almost raged quit a book like I did this one just from reading the prologue. If you find yourself in this same boat, it will make sense later so carry on.
2. I continue to say this in regards to this trilogy, but I LOVE the connection to Greek mythology throughout. It adds a really modern spin, making it unique without being cheesy.
3. Nikki has such a beautiful way with words when describing pretty much anything. From actions to physical features to "feelings", she writes them in a way that if I close my eyes & truly take the words in....I can visualize what she's talking about. There are great writers, but very few that can truly go beyond just writing a great story.
4. Macallister is of course seen as the villian, always has been despite our (as readers) attraction to him (admit it, at one time or another you found him a total DILF)....Nikki does a INCREDIBLE job at confusing the crap out of her readers when it comes to him. He is hands down my most beloved bad guy, the villian I found it impossible to hate. But what irritates me is Marist's inability to not play into his hand. Its like she secretly enjoys his games & his obsession with her....which made me realize she isn't as innocent or as blameless in it all as she thinks.
5. I have always been on Royce's bandwagon, & in this book he 100% shined for me. Easily lands in my top 3 fav book boyfriends. Pair him with his dad & they take the top spot in hottest "related" pair of any book series for me.

“I know it’s irrelevant,” he said, “but she was wrong.” He lifted his eyes to mine, and they were haunting. “Even monsters are capable of love, Medusa.”

Overall, this was a very fitting conclusion to what will be one of my fav all time series & one that I will likely re-read many times in the future. Its origins in Greek mythology set it apart, but Nikki's gift to make it 100% relatable to modern times is what truly made this the trilogy it is. I'm only sad for two reasons.....its over & that there are people who haven't read it yet! Outstanding job Nikki Sloane---this was BRILLIANT.

"We’d be together until the end of time, a love of mythic proportions, that, despite all odds, had avoided a tragic end. Ours was the only love story in the myths that I believed had a happy ending. We were Persephone and Hades."

Another 3.5 stars for me and it's not because the book wasn't good, BUT in terms of overall writing and character development it could have been better. CW: , strong sexual content, death, sexual humiliation

As the 3rd book in the Filthy Rich Americans series I think that I was expecting more. I already knew who Marist was going to end up with based on the writing and characterization that took place in the other two novels; however, I still can't get over how Royce treated her. I didn't care for his dishonesty and his manipulation and there is one specific instance in this book that literally makes him just as bad as his father; yet, for some crazy reason Marist literally is over it within a coupl eof chapters. Though Marist is convinced that she can't stand Macalister, I question her judgement because Royce, by actions, isn't that far removed from his father. Granted there are instances where I think that Macalister took things too far and he wasn't actively aware of his behavior, but Royce (in my humble opinion) wasn't that far off.

Regardless of my feelings towards character development, Nikki Sloane is a hell of a plot writer. The twist and turns and the taboo aspects of the plot makes it an easy book to consume. There were moments where my mouth was literally hanging open and I wondered from the depths of what creativity Sloane was able to get these characters to do some wild things. There was a specific secene with Macalister, his wife, and Marist that was so uncomfortable and shocking that I couldn't help but laugh. In my perspective, Nikki Sloane is going to be my go author whenever I want to read crazy dark romance. I don't think her character development is something that I will ever vibe with, but I will never deny her ability to write an interesting book.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! Loved it! Such an addictive read, well worth the stars. Am I the only one that thought every encounter she had with Macalister was some of the hottest and sexiest moments ever? God I wanted him! Of course Royce is hot but Macalister was freaking fire 🔥. I always love the forbidden so that should be no surprise. Lol. I definitely recommend this sexy series.

2.5 Stars 🌟

Someone needs to explain to me why everyone in this series is obsessed with Marist. She is so bland and imo annoying, like I legit don't see it. The romance/relationship felt non existent for me and I still dislike 85% of the characters but hey I finished it.

The games played makes this worth reading.

Well what can I say but this....the best man won and Marist ended up with who I knew she would. In the end and with all the games, the secrets and the twists, I did however like McAlister a little bit (even though I still thought he was creepy) but I guess for me, which I’ll repeat again, 😆 Royce really needs his own POV.

What the actual heck?!
🚨 Warning - this review is mostly a rant. Tons of spoilers ahead! 🚨

What I ordered: a steamy romantic thriller with some dark elements.

What I got: not what I ordered in any shape or form!

To be honest I’m not sure what to rate this one. I spent most of it wanting to give it a 2 star rating. I was so disturbed and frustrated at Marist’s actions that most of the time I just wanted to throw the book away or have it be finished as soon as possible. I’m gonna be honest here - I pretty much only kept reading to find out if Royce got his happy ending. Royce! The one I thought was kind of weak but deserving of love? Yeah that one!

So I know how dark romances typically work - there’s usually a heroine who initially doesn’t want to but falls for the villain. This was not that. It just seemed like the author used the ‘games’ Marist and Macalister played as an excuse to have Marist in sexual situations with her father in law to be/father in law. I found it pretty gross how he kept pushing himself onto her - ok assaulting her - at every turn and she wouldn’t tell Royce about it until it was too late. I found it even worse that she was attracted to Macalister and that any part of her wanted his affections. She was stringing both the Hale men along and I lost a lot of respect for her because of it.

I lost pretty much all my respect for her when she went into her father in law’s room and let him watch her touch herself. Girl what the hell? In what universe is that normal? Or like, the only way to get what you needed from him? Snoop in his office. Get into his right hand man’s computer. Install bugs and cameras. Do LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE. This goes back to the author putting Marist and Macalister in sexual situations for bants. It just didn’t do it for me. I would have respected it more if the story was about her picking Macalister over Royce or vica versa. Not this mess of sleeping with your husband while your father in law to be watches.

What I’m trying to say is that the dilemmas Marist thought existed were too easy for me to see other ways out of and that made her resorting to sexy situations with her father in law to be/father in law gross. And like, what did she do in the end? Use the information from her frenemy to blackmail a board member to giving her his proxy. So...why did you let your father in law watch you touch yourself again? She literally could have done all the scheming without knowing Macalister was on to Royce’s plan!

I started out this series with high hopes. I thought Marist was strong and brave and smart. And she just...wasn’t in the end. At least not to me. She was weirdly into her fifty year old in law, lying to her husband while claiming to love him and irritatingly obsessed with Greek mythology to the point of making me want to just have my eyes roll into the back of my head each time she mentioned any of the gods. God bless the author but she was doing too much with her mention of Zeus and Hypnos and Nyx and Hera and MEDUSA (oh Medusa!) and every other Greek god under the sun. It really made it difficult to get into the story there toward the middle and end. I would have enjoyed it more had she had one comparison that was mentioned like maybe three times the whole book. That might have woven in more seamlessly.

I really enjoyed Alice. What a crazy, love obsessed woman. I mean girl, it’s not that deep it’s just a cold man in his fifties. You ain’t gotta do all that poisoning and stabbing sis. I loved to hate her and she made reading this fun. She did not hesitate to try and hurt Marist and it was wild watching her get thwarted each time.

Did I love seeing Macalister humbled? Yes and no. It’s not nice seeing a giant fall but he was a dick the entire time so like it was also kind of nice to see a giant fall. It was pretty nice that he admitted he loved Royce - tangentially. It was nice that he helped save Marist. It was even nice that they hugged and held hands and he tried to help Royce with his wounds. Where was that guy for three novels? It was weird seeing someone so in control and so deliciously evil - except the assault parts because ew and please take no for an answer I don’t care if you love me - be blindsided.

Anyway, I find myself having run out of steam and wanting to point out that, while I didn’t like quite a few aspects of this final novel in the series, I actually enjoyed reading the series overall. It was quick, dramatic, twisty and turny. It made me sigh and mutter complaints to myself and swoon. It’s a pity it became so frustrating towards the end. But authors write what they want and I’m here to say that, while I didn’t like how the characters came to the ending, I certainly enjoyed the ride.

So I guess...it’s a 2.5 star?

Ps. I know there is a forth book in the series that’s about the redemption of Macalister but sir, you were terrible to everyone for three books, you pushed yourself onto your daughter in law at every turn and you killed a woman (your wife!!!) and ended up in jail. I think that’s a fitting end for you in my book. I won’t be reading your redemption story.

Between the fucking prologue and the what am i reading right now ending ... *blink* so yeah, that happened!

This trilogy was genuinely unexpected at every turn. The blatant manipulation of the plot was awe-inspiring. I have never been so incredibly captivated by every word in a journey. I didn’t want to miss a thing. My mind was in constant overload. It was glorious and exhausting and worth every minute of my time. I saw nothing coming around any corner. I know what I wanted to happen but I had no clue if it would until it did … or did it??? Hmmmmmmm

That’s all you get *evil laugh* because there are going to be future readers reading this before they even begin the trilogy and I’m not going to be the one to ruin the epic story! However, I do want to say one more tiny thing … If you’ve read this trilogy and are 100% convinced you know the romantic conclusion of who/what/where/when … convince me because I'm not ;)

This whole series was hard to review. I felt like the main love interest was a bit ehhhhh but umm hellloooo Macalister. I loved every bit that he was in and I'm so glad he is getting a book but I'm a bit on the fence about who he will be paired with.

This whole series was very Bold and the Beautiful and I'm not mad about that but if you want a traditional romance then maybe this isn't for you.

Royce for me started off really great but then he just kind of got overshadowed by both Marist and Macalister. He didn't really seem to have much growth to him as a character and was kind of a...I dunno he just didn't really come across as very powerful or smart. I know this is petty but the fact he couldn't drive a car was a massive turn off haha maybe because I'm a bit of a revhead myself but a guy not being able to drive really turned me off. Plus he was just incredibly spoilt.

Y'all. These fuckin books.

I read the entire series yesterday, after having found the first book on amazon and then seeing it come highly recommended from Riley Marie, and I needed something to kickstart me out of the slump I had been in after finishing An Ember in the Ashes, and this seemed perfect.

I really enjoyed The Initiation, and was super quickly invested in Marist and Royce’s relationship, which is really the only reason I ended up finishing the books at all. I did see the plot twist coming, but it didn’t make it any less entertaining.

Now, when I got to The Obsession (book 2), things started to change a little bit. Before I get any further, it’s important to say that this is absolutely not my first foray into fucked up romances, and my line for what I can read and enjoy is essentially on Mars. However, throughout a huge portion of this book I quite literally felt physically ill and nauseous at things that were happening, and was often shocked to the point of being speechless, and not always in a good way. But because I was so invested in the relationship between our leads, I pushed on.

By the time I got to The Deception (book 3), I was ready for shit to hit the fan and for us to finally get on our way to the conclusion of the ride that I had spent the last 400 or so pages reading.

What I was not ready for was the exact same conflict from book two. This book was so cyclical that I was genuinely infuriated reading the vast majority of it, because it felt like I was wasting my time and that I was just reading the same book over again, but this time featuring a wedding. The conflict was the same, the way the characters dealt with the conflict was the same, and my levels of disgust were, guess what, also the same (if not even more ramped up). I really am not a DNFer, but starting around chapter 8 out of 22 in this last installment, I kept asking myself (and my friends) why the hell I was still reading this book. By the time I got halfway through, it was dragging even more, and I was just not enjoying it. Looking back, I probably should have just DNFed it, but I still just wanted to know how it ended and whether or not everything that Marist and Royce went through was going to be worth it all to get to their happy ending. When I tell you that the last two chapters took a goddamn turn into some season 6 Gossip Girl Chuck and Blair-esque shit, that isn’t even close to an exaggeration. Was it entertaining? At that point, yeah, it was. It came so far and so fast out of left field that I was entertained for a second, until I realized that it was going to be the beginnings of one of the most disgusting people I have had the displeasure of reading in a long ass time. The final chapter overall was nice, I gotta admit, I’m absolutely a sucker for those endings that circle back and do the same thing as the beginning of the first books, which is what we had here, so that was nice. There were still issues I had with it, though. Again, everything was clearly leading up to trying to redeem a man who, in my opinion, has no right to be redeemed after all of the foul, disgusting things he spent the entire series doing.

Am I glad I read and finished these books? Honestly, I have no idea. I think I’m still a little too fresh out of it to decide about that. (I’m writing this review the morning after having finished the series.) There were things in all three books that I genuinely did enjoy (really only just the times where Marist and Royce were together and getting along), but I think that for the most part, the good was so far overshadowed by the bad. I can’t in good conscience recommend these books to anyone else. Despite the good that there was in them, I just don’t think that literally everything else in these books is something that I can look past and recommend to others. If you have any interest whatsoever in the story and desperately want to read them for yourself, enter at your own damn risk. Look up content warnings, because OH BOY are there a lot of them. But honestly, what I would recommend you do if you are curious about these books, and what I almost wish I had done myself, is to just look up spoiler reviews and summaries and get the story that way. At the end of the day yesterday, I just felt like I had wasted my time reading these books.

(PS-I know there’s a fourth book in the series, but I will NOT be reading it. I have absolutely zero interest in reading a book called “The Redemption” that focuses around one of the most vile, disgusting, horrific villains I’ve had the displeasure of reading in quite a long time. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to read a book less in my entire life.)

A fantastic ending for a fantastic series.

Now I'm going to admit something here... I almost wished Macalister and Marist HAD slept together. He was a super hot and twisted man. When reading the sex scenes, the foreplay between Marist and him far exceeded that between her and her fiancé. That's just me. Twisty. Dark. Deviant. LOL.

They all got what they deserved in the end, bar Alice perhaps. I did feel sorry for her. Macalister had screwed her up to such a degree she no longer knew which way was up.

Well done to Marist and Royce for playing Macalister at his own game, though. In real life that would take some courage.

All in all, another fantastic 5 star read. Will be reading more from Ms Sloane!
