I fell in love with a sky cowboy from Alaska. The Simple Wild was one of my favorite romances of 2018 and when I heard there was a sequel coming out, I was thrilled. I couldn’t wait to get more Calla and Jonah and I hoped I would love it as much as the first. Well, I did. It was different than the first book in a lot of ways, but I loved revisiting the characters we know and love as well as meeting some new ones.
“I need you in my life like I need to fly. Like I need this Alaskan air. More than I need this air.”

Jonah likes to ride this thing at full throttle. As with everything he does in life, it seems. But that's who he is. He'll always be wild at heart, and there is no way to tame or change him.
"I can't remember what it's like to wake up and not have you be the first thing I think about. Every morning, I roll over in bed to check for a message from you. Every night, I go to bed annoyed because you're not beside me. Because you're so far away. I need you in my life like I need to fly. Like I need this Alaskan air. More than I need this air."
"I can't remember what it feels like not being in love with you, Calla...I need you in my life like I need to fly. Like I need this Alaskan air. More than I need this air."
"I am trying."
"No, Calla. I think you came here wanting to try ..."
It's strange how your relationship can feel impenetrable one day and vulnerable the next - with a misunderstanding, a few words, and a mountain of repressed worries that finally swell to the surface.
