White Hat Security #8

Hacker Enclosed

Rate this book
She dares not come out from behind her walls. But her heart is on the threshold…

Addie
I’ve got the best team in the white hat hacker business. Cruz is my eyes in the field. Lena’s my ear to the ground. Me? I’m the brains of the operation. Brains tend to stay in one place—inside.

I can’t pinpoint when my agoraphobia took over. But I refuse to be a no-show at my twin brother’s wedding. I’ve got Xanax, my team’s got a plan, and my bro’s got my plus-one—Abe, his Navy SEAL buddy. He’s hot. He’s dangerous. He’s unexpectedly kind. He’s the one thing my screwed-up brain will never let me have.

Abe
Bodyguarding the good, the bad, and the rich and famous for Blackwood Mercenary supplies the action I crave. Babysitting my buddy’s sister during his wedding? Not the kind of action I had in mind.

But Addie’s a special case. As brilliant as she is fragile. A handle-with-care woman who, the more I’m with, makes me forget about the bro code that clearly says hands off. But when every reason for her retreat from the world threatens, it’s up to me to keep her safe. Though my every instinct warns me I’ll never be the man she needs…

John's sister Addie is a PI/hacker with Agoraphobia. She's supposed to fly from Boston to Florida, so John gets his friend Abe to pick her up from the private airfield where these folks use their private jet to fly wherever they want.

It goes on from there. Eventually a service dog come into it which really pissed me off because a service dog requires HOURS of training with their person and it seems this took 5 mins.

No real BDSM, but there's a lot of "I'll tan her hide" kind of language that is tiresome. And I'm being kind.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Addie is agoraphobic, she hasn't left her house in years. Though her hacking abilities allow her to help run a successful PI firm, she leaves the in person parts of the investigation to her teammates and friends. But to be at her brother's wedding she'll not only have to leave her house, but leave the state. Abe's friends are all falling in love and getting married, but after a previously failed marriage he doesn't think love is in his future. But meeting his former teammate's sister might have him rethinking his future.

I liked that Addie didn't completely let her fears overtake her, she does make an effort to overcome her fears to be there for her brother. I could understand Abe's attitude toward relationships given his upbringing, though I agreed with his friends that he was being more than a little stubborn about it. I did think their relationship did move very quickly and given that both of them have trust and other emotional issues, I wasn't surprised that they later had communication issues. I'm not a fan of fights where they could be solved just by having a simple discussion, but I think in this story it was true to who the characters were. I was a little skeptical that Abe was able to help Addie so quickly, but I did like that she didn't want to just depend on him to get past her panic attacks, she wanted to find a way to truly deal with her issues. I didn't really get the investigation they end up working until everything came out in the end, it felt like an odd secondary plot that didn't get completely developed. I liked the sweeter moments between Abe and Addie, they really made for an enjoyable story.

I haven't read Hacker Salvation, which is John's (Addie's bother) book. I think reading some of the previous books in the series would have been beneficial, especially Hacker Salvation, but I could follow most of this story without problems. I wouldn't say it's really a stand-alone story, but I wasn't completely lost when reading.

This book is definitely one of my favorites in this brilliant series!!!! Each and every book in this series is filled with alpha men with hearts, suspense, intrigue, action, and extremely smart, talented and resilient women who are typically close to those men 😉. It's not mandatory to have read the previous books in this series, however I do suggest it. Reading the previous books *will* really help the reader see the links between characters as many have become family by choice, and past events relevant to the current book.

Ever since hearing about Addie through her brother John's story, I've wanted her to get her own book. So I was overjoyed to see her truly face her fear, blossom as a woman, and kick butt in her job all while dealing with crippling fear of leaving her house. Not only was this book just filled with the usual action/suspense and romance, it was fascinating to see this amazing woman learn to take more control of her fear so that SHE could dictate what she does in life and not her fear! I have a feeling we'll possibly be seeing Abe and Addie sometime in the near future. Enjoy!!! Be warned though, this series is EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE in the best way!!

I received a free copy of the steamy novel Hacker Enclosed: White Hat Security: Book 8: Addie and Abe by Linzi Baxter and this review was given freely.
Action packed with some bits of BDSM, a wedding, betrayal, intrigue, CIA corruption and a steamy love at first sight romance. This complex east coast USA novel merges the people from White Hat Security in Boston with AA Security in Florida as well as the Blackwood Mercenary/ Blackwood Security's Florida and California branches.
Just as Addie is getting close to solving the case of Stark Night brand equipment and the recent mass military armament failures, her twin brother John asks 35 yo Addie Walters to challenge her agoraphobia to fly from Boston to Florida for his wedding to movie star Annabelle but a near death experience causes a panic attack that only her brother's best friend and best man Abe can help.
Can be read as a single but best if read in series.

I absolutely love this series and while you don't have to read all of the series (though do you won't be disappointed ) I do feel you have to read at least Hacker Salvation which is book seven and is Annabelle and Johns story John is the twin of Addie the heroine of this story

Addie is a world class hacker and she has the team to make the job work because her agoraphobia means that she never leaves her home but now her brother is getting married and she is going to have be brave and head to Florida for the wedding. She is currently working on a case about military equipment that had catastrophic failures and this is bringing danger to her Luckily her brother has asked his best friend and former military man Ab to act as her bodyguard on the trip and he not only protects her but makes her feel a little safer. Ab is used to working as a bodyguard because he works for Blackwood protection but Abbie is a special case this fragile woman calls to all sides of him but he needs to stay away because the Bro code says she is off limits but as danger circles he will do whatever he needs to in an effort to keep her safe and in the process he will lose his heart.

As Addie, a brilliant and talented hacker with agoraphobia, is working on her latest case, her twin brother, John, asks her to attend his wedding in Florida. So pulling herself together and ignoring her terrors, she heads to Florida.

Abe, John’s Navy SEAL buddy, will provide the bodyguard service, and just having him near her actually does calm her down… somewhat. When danger threatens, will he be able to keep her safe?

I do love the fast-paced, action-packed tone of the books. But I draw the line at including BDSM since I find that off-putting enough to make me quit reading. It adds nothing of value to any story and is very repulsive to many readers.

I’ve inhaled all of the existing White Hat Security books in just a few short days. Now I have to wait. I’m an impatient person and waiting is not a good look for me!

As usual, this was an amazing book with the twists and turns I’ve come to expect. This time, I got outright angry at the characters of Abe and Addie. I wanted to shake some sense into them and get into both of their faces and tell them to get over themselves! They were meant for each other, but lack of communication between them was going to kill me! Thank goodness they got their heads on straight!

Great book that left me, as usual, wanting more. 5 stars!

Really love this series. I can't imagine being stuck inside all the time because of a phobia. She's a good hacker and has her own team. But she lives in Boston and Abe lives and works in Florida. When she goes to Florida to her brothers wedding she's a nervous mess. Abe grounds her just by being around. But when trouble starts to happen and she pushes Abe aside to protect him, that causes friction. There is a lot of action, Abe is a Dom so he and Addie have some fun before she leaves to go home. Aside from a few spelling/wordage errors it was a great book. HEA

This was my first book by Linzi that I have read and I want into it with zero expectations. I enjoyed the book and will definitely be reading more. Despite this being part of a series I didn’t feel like I was missing out too much and it can definitely be read as a stand-alone.
It was well written and set at a good pace. I like the mystery aspect mixed with romance. It was easy to read and the pages were easy to turn.
Would recommend.

Addie lives in Boston, has a PI agency, she’s a hacker and has a twin brother in Florida who is getting married and he wants her to be there. Her big problem, she has acute agoraphobia and pretty much has not left her house in three years. Abe is a security agent and her brother’s best friend. He is picking up Addie at the airport when an emergency situation arises. Well written, interesting and enjoyable reading continuing in the series.

Hacker Enclosed

Another wonderful story about the White Hat Security, this one is Abe’s story with his best friend John’s Sister. She is an agoraphobic, who runs a top internet security from home and is having to leave home to come to John’s wedding.

Addie has not told her brother how bad her condition has become and is now over her head. Abe shows up at the right time and saves the day and while protecting her, situations develop that target her and the thrills begin. I more book to go snd I can’t wait to read it.

Hacker Enclosed is the eighth book in the White Hat Security series and is an engaging romantic suspense story.

I enjoyed reading this story of danger and suspense. The characters are well developed and likable. The storyline is well written and flows nicely from start to finish, with an agoraphobic woman, her protector, intrigue, corruption, and steamy romance.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

My 1st book by this author and I loved it. This book had all of the feels, mystery, murder, mayhem but it also addresses difficulties that many people have with phobias. It also shows compassion, chemistry and love that can be found. Looking forward to more by Linzi. 😍😍😍😍😍 I volunteered my honest opinion for this book

My first book by this author and it definitely won't be the last book I read in the series. Even though this is book 8, it can, in my opinion, be read as a standalone. With a hot sexy alpha male and a heroine who suffers debilitating panic attacks, dodgy weapons, questionable supply chains, and action-packed pages this is a very easy to read and entertaining novel .

interesting story

I really enjoyed this story, I liked Abbie and Abe, but Abbie’s agoraphobia and overcoming it bit by bit, was a big part of the story. Good romance with a big misunderstanding but it all came out happy in the end
