This was my first book by this author and I loved every bit of it. Opal was a wild rich party girl that did whatever she wanted and never suffered from her consequences. Feed up with her antics, her dad takes her credit cards and send her to her hometown of Mississippi to save one of their hotels. When she arrived her childhood friend Langston was there to pick her up. Langston has always loved Opal and now since she is back, he feels it's time to let her know. Langston and Opal share a night and this scares Opal and she hides, but when she finally is ready to talk, she sees Langston kissing another woman and leaves. Langston finally finds Opal before she returns to New York and confesses his love and she tell him she loves him as well. This story was straight to the point and I loved it. I look forward to.more books from this author!!!
Ok, this had soooo much potential. It started great, then it just kinda lost it. Like everything happened so fast. It was a bit rushed. There were so many things, if developed, that would've been great. Like the whole thing Lana. I needed more details. I need outcome. It also would've been super nice if we got to see how Opal manage to pull off the task she was sent to do. Cause the gist of the story was about spoiled wild girl who daddy was trying to teach responsibilities. So we didn't technically get to see how she pulled the fundraiser and gala. Opal was so broken and honestly, misunderstood but Langston knew her, saw her and understood her. I'm not saying this was a bad story at all,, but it would've been great as a full length. I think there were too much plot to be a novella. First time reading this author and I'd read more from her. 3.8⭐
This was a good read just wish it was a little longer. But good non the less. She was broken and so was he it was sweet how they came together. This should've been a regular book so they story could've developed more.Like you left so many unanswered question. I wish she would've met his daughter and his divorce finalized and they were dating. Hopefully you do a follow up book with them
This was a really cute Christmas short story. Langston and Opal had some history and wanted to see if this reunion would bring them closer. Feelings from their childhood resurfaced and sparked something between the two but is it for the right reason? First read by this author and I gotta read more of her
Yes hunny this was such an amazing read. What a wonderful Christmas it turned out to be for Opal and Langston. Who doesn’t love a blossoming second chance romance written to perfection. This book gave me all the feels of holiday romance and I definitely can’t wait to read what’s next from this author with this being my first experience.
Who doesn't love a good Christmas story? The passion, love, and spirit can be felt in this short story! I recommend this read to anyone during any time of the year!
