Fed up with the endless demands of her job, Ellie seeks solitude from the chaos. As if by magic, she finds herself all alone in an exotic hotel. That is, until she meets the gorgeous guest next door. As time melts away, Ellie falls hard for Sam. Then he vanishes into thin air, taking his love with him. When he suddenly reappears, he isn’t the Sam she once knew, but her aching heart tells her otherwise.
Sam finds himself at a crossroads in his soccer career when a permanent injury forces him to make a difficult decision. He thinks seclusion in a luxury hotel is what he needs, until he sees the fiery redhead, Ellie. She has no idea who he is and becomes the woman of his dreams.
Like any vacation, it must come to an end… just not in such a tragic way. Sam thinks he’s responsible for Ellie’s death, and when he discovers she’s alive, she doesn’t greet him with open arms. The relentless fight for her dignity and career threatens to end their passionate reunion.
They said their love was infinite, but anything can change when reality comes crashing down.

It's an astounding story, started really well and then came the jaw dropping twist. It's like you're driving on a sunny day with your top down and you suddenly you find yourself go flinging over the cliff What in the hell's name happened!!!??!!!?!? I'm speechless.!!! "Strangers meet at the airport and fall in love after the explosion.”
Well there was an explosion alright. The story begins with two people running away from real world and hiding in the idyllic sunny resort. Samuel Moore and Stella crimson are neighbours. They share Petrie the talking parrot, love for lemons and pool.
They start to enjoy each other's company and get closer. "when we kissed. She’s become a part of me. The same part that died when I woke up that day in the hospital. And I can’t explain how my heart came to life again when I saw her at her office.” And then BAM!! Krissy pulls the rug from under you, you start doubting what is real anymore and what's a dream. I'm rubbing my eyes at this point😮 "How can someone vanish into thin air?”
Real wold brings them challenges emotional and psychological The pace is fast and happening, characters very well rounded, her writing style is very factual and straightforward. My only peeve- the big secret or puzzle I should say, remained unsolved. So how did both people land at the same place and shared what they did....🤔 I'd have loved to have a plausible explanation for it. But I still loved reading this utterly romantic story
Characters Sam, 32 (professional soccer player): Sam’s days of playing professional soccer may be over and he’s looking at what the next chapter of his life might be. He’s got a few changes to make, both personally and professionally. He has a close relationship with his sister and she always lends him support when he needs it. He’s a good guy who doesn’t let his elite athletic ability or his celebrity status go to his head.
First impression of Sam: Ummm.....YUMMY!!🥰😍❤️
Ellie, 31 (entertainment lawyer): Ellie is smart and dedicated to her job, but she has a horrible boss that makes life difficult. She’s a bit dissatisfied with things. ”Lately, I work in a world where there are a lot of fake people and failed marriages. It’s made me lose hope in finding love myself. I don’t know who I can trust, because I don’t know who’s real and who’s using me for my connections.". Ellie has a close relationship with her mom and her cousin, so family is very important to her.
First impression of Ellie: I’m confused....she’s confused. I’m glad she’s nice because I would hate to be in this state of confusion with a bitch. 😂 Lol.
The Story: Sam and Ellie meet on an island. But do they already know each other and can’t remember? What will happen when they have to leave the island? Can they leave the island? 🤔
My Thoughts: I must say, by Chapter 1 I was hooked. There were a couple places where I had to reread a sentence or two to see if I was confused or if Ellie was confused. Well, it was Ellie, but that just helped draw me in and made me connect with her. Why were we both so confused? What the heck was going on?
By chapter 3 I had a theory about what was happening. By then I had been introduced to Sam and omg.....❤️🥰. It’s insta love for Sam and Ellie, and for me too. I don’t often get this wrapped up in insta love, but I was all in. Their feelings for each other were contagious. Plus, did they have a prior connection that made this not feel so much like insta love? 🤔🤔 Why are they so comfortable together? Clearly I had some questions. Lol. But, that’s part of the reason I was so drawn in. I loved this couple and I wanted to know their story. Their chemistry was off the charts and I was itching for answers.
This couple was so much fun on the island. The wardrobe malfunction, the lemon incident, Petie the parrot, the sea turtles, the way they shared their favorite things with each other, scuba diving, pictures on the beach, songs, the Swarovski turtle gift and the care and love they showed each other when they were not feeling the best. They definitely had some heat and steam together 🔥 and I just knew these two were destined to live HEA.
But then......oh boy. 😳 My theory in chapter 3 turned out to be correct, but I really wasn’t prepared for the turn. What now??? Omg I was rooting for them soooo bad. But could they find their HEA? Now I wasn’t sure. 😬🤞Uh oh.
So......I’m not going to give anything away. All you need to know is that I was riveted from start to finish and I had a few heart palpitations along the way. In the end, I got the story I wanted and the journey was extremely satisfying.
This isn’t like anything I have read before. Kudos to the author for thinking outside of the box. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and it ticked all my boxes: H/h I love, no stupid cliche’s, a couple of not-so-nice people that get what they deserve in the end, fantastic chemistry, supportive family/friends, mystery/confusion/the unknown and so much more. I highly recommend.
Quotes: "I’m talking to a bird like it’s a friend who just interrupted a hot date.”
“I don’t care that we just met, Sam. My feelings for you don’t scare me.”
“I don’t know what’s happening between us, either, Ellie, but I like it. Please tell me it doesn’t have to end.” “Never. Ever.”
“Somehow, despite the short time we’ve known each other, you’ve stolen my heart."
“I want to know what it feels like to make love to someone when it means everything to the both of us.”
“Look forward, never back.”
“I want my lips swollen because you can’t get enough of me.” “I want to be stuck with you forever.”
“My biggest fear now is that I won’t be able to grow old and gray with you.” “Say you won’t let me go. Please don’t let us go.”
I am always delighted to read a story from Kristina Beck since I discovered her work while reading an ARC of her Souls Collide series. If you haven't read them, add them to your list, kick back and enjoy.
She has a way of adding quirky twists of fate, near misses, and in this case, something like a sprinkle of magic to her romantic tales of love and finding that 'meant to be' soulmate.
I'm going to be alittle bit vague with my review because this is a story which the author has taken special care to craft so differently than the usual. To say too much would spoil the surprise and believe me, it's too cool to discover all that's there for me to do that to the next reader.
The h in this story, Ellie Crimson finds herself in a beautiful, exotic resort, sipping away on tropical drinks with umbrellas, getting treated like a queen..what a vacation this is already and she's just arrived!
Top it off with a gorgeous man, Sam, who happens to be in the villa right next door, how lucky is she? Very much so, it seems. Whatever you desire- delicious food, service with a smile at every turn along with a private pool and beach (let's not forget the hot, sexy neighboor). What more could the overworked Ellie possibly want?
Sam and Ellie dive headfirst into what some might call love at first sight. Off the charts sizzle- check, a feeling of belonging- definitely..could this vacation romance be the real deal?
What is this special place doing to Ellie and Sam as it weaves its spell around them? Things may not be exactly as they seem but I won't say much more except, pay attention to details and bookmark when you feel those special moments. I found lots of them to love!
This book was twisty, angsty, fun in some spots, steamy and romantic as well. Makes you really wonder if fate is at work in every aspect of life, if every move you make leads to your future in some way or another. If what is meant to be will happen no matter what obstacles are placed in your path.
I LOVED this story! So well written and very different to say the least. Mire than worth a few hours of pleasure! The h and H are both perfect and the supporting characters, well, some you will love to hate!
Recommend this author and her books, this one might have been a favorite of mine so far!
I was glad to be chosen to receive an advanced copy and this is my honest review of it.
Thanks to author for providing this copy to me!! Sorry, this book didn't work out for me. Annoying main characters, good plot went wrong, too much ex drama, sometimes writing looked like dairy enters, cheating... Main characters sometimes looked like they have double personalities...
Yeah, so I don't want to waste any more time on this than necessary. But I'm pissed off.
From the start, the heroine, Stella, made me itchy. Okay, real quick, her name is Stella but her 'friends' call her 'Ellie.' I will NOT, because she's a blight on MY name.
Why must every heroine called Ellie be a bloody g*ddamned cow?!?
So...moving on. I was looking forward to reading this. I'm not into paranormal type stuff - which as it happens, this really wasn't - but it sounded interesting. And the annoying Stella nitwithstanding, I was really into this for a good bit.
But once reality took over in the book, my curiosity began to wane. There was a load of OP drama on both sides, although significantly more from hero Sam's. After the mysterious and engaging beginning of the story, the H and h aren't together for quite a while and they both share some responsibility there but the problem was so much more Stella than Sam. Sam was lovely and loyal and his love for Stella never faltered. Stella on the other hand was whiny, judgemental and fickle as f*ck. She also had a nasty habit of running and hiding, holing up in her apartment and not showering. Gross. Even if we've all done it, who the hell wallows in their filthy pj's and freely admits that they stink. Keep that shite to yourself.
And she cried all the time. It's no secret that heroines with leaky tearducts stomp on my last nerve.
But Sam was a famous athlete and had a bit of a past and even though he'd never given her any reason to mistrust him she was constantly punishing him for his fame, the public interest in him, and his ex-girlfriends. She accused him of cheating, basically said that he was a bad person if he loved his ex and there was no way he could love someone like Stella.
IMO, it was a HUGE flaw in an otherwise decent guy that he did love her, but I digress.
So, the book turned out to not really be about their mystical connection so much as it was about exes causing trouble and bitchy colleagues and paparazzi and her hating his life and all he stood for. It wasn't all that unique after all, but I was still interested enough to see it through. And then 89% happened. God, did I hate that bitch after that. She was nothing but a selfish, whiny hypocrite and she did not deserve that man. What she did was cold-blooded and uncalled for and she deserved spinsterhood and 50 cats to live out her dotage. Her 'revenge' scene on the OW didn't even soften my opinion of her. Because fuck her. She had a lot to learn about what loving someone really means, and you sure as hell don't tell someone they aren't worth it when stuff gets tough. Cow.
This book was a huge disappointment. HEA, but who the fuck cares.

Kristina Beck certainly knows how to deliver one mind boggling story. INTO THIN AIR was definitely not what I expected. The blurb had me intrigued, but the story ...WOW!!!! The story totally blew me away. Ms Beck put in such a brilliant twist into what would have been yet another romance story, she lifted it up to a higher level.
Ellie, a hardworking and dedicated entertainment lawyer, has decided that she needs a break from life, she needs time alone. She finds herself on an island resort, where she just wants to lap up the peace and quiet. Sam, a professional soccer player, has a few hard decisions to make dur to an injury that is keeping him off the playing field. An island resort is the perfect place for him to do this.
Ellie and Sam end up as neighbours. Even though they are there to be alone, something is constantly drawing them to each other. Soon a friendship develops and so much more. It's like they have known each other all of their life, they are so comfortable together and their love just shines brightly. The interactions and banter between them had me laughing at times, especially when they were first getting to know each other. Their time together is idylic ... almost too idyllic. Just when everything appears to be perfect, Ms Beck throws in a killer of a twist ... that's all I'm going to say.
This story was brilliant, perfectly thought out and really had me asking so many questions. Why was their chemistry so strong? Why did there seem to be nothing that they could not do on the island? Can Ellie and Sam take their new found happiness back to the real world, or is it destined to remain a holiday romance?
Not everything is as it appears, there's something else going on ... but what is it? With some awesome support characters of family and friends, this story is thoroughly enjoyable to read. Of course there are the usual antagonists, but they are dealt with in due course. A brilliant book that kept me totally captivated. A highly recommended read.
I enjoy going into books blind, not knowing anything about it beforehand, this can cause some dreadful results. The story starts slow filled with tons of little details as a reader, you're not sure if it's important to remember or something just to throw you off your game, not quite sure if what your reading is an actual account of an event or someone's dream state. It picks up around chapter nine and gets more interesting from there, however, there are still a ton of questions surrounding the baseline of this story. Overall it left me with even more questions. Thinking this book should be marked more paranormal romance.
Good story with an interesting concept! Ellie and Sam meet at a resort and spend time together only to be pulled apart. Running into each other again under crazy circumstances, through both into a whirlwind. It's hard to say too much without giving everything away and I hate to do that. You just need to read it! The characters are great, its well written, and I haven't read a story line like it. Great job!
From the first page of Kristina Beck’s amazing new book, I was caught up in the romance of Ellie and Sam. The tropical setting, the beautiful hotel and Sam’s sexy voice, pulled me into their story. I was so captivated by their explosive chemistry and the romantic setting, that I had to keep reading well into the night.
Ellie is strong willed, independent and was in dire need of a vacation when she met Sam, who I fell in love with right away. He is handsome, romantic, serious, thoughtful and a talented soccer player. Ellie and Sam are a very passionate couple and I enjoyed watching their romance blossom. Life was perfect at the magical resort, and it was what we all wish could happen to us just once in our lives. The descriptions of their hotel, the flowers and the sea turtles were so vivid, I felt as if I was at the resort with them. Ellie and Sam’s devotion developed very quickly, and they were always honest and caring with each other.
Vacations always come to an end and then we go home to become the people we were when we left. Tired, overworked, sick of our jobs, lonely and existing only on our memories of the special time away that was much too short. Can Ellie and Sam rekindle the love they found on vacation or will the cold reality of life surround them with too many obstacles to overcome?
Do you believe in near death experiences? Is there a medical or scientific explanation for those who underwent these. Into Thin Air is a very unique romantic story. The book revolves around a man and a woman shared the same dream while in a coma after a near death experience. They really feel that they are each other’s soul mates but something happened in that dream that they suddenly woke up to reality, strangers to each other. But they swore they have beeen togethere for some time and developed feelings to each other. As they go on with their lives, Ellie and Sam are still confused whether the other person is real or not. One day, fate decided to bring them together again, annnndddd Ellie fainted when she saw Sam, wondering is he the same Sam whom she fell in love with on that hotel? Sam also thought of the same thing when she saw Ellie. Then I remembered the book Midnight Valentine by J.T. Geissinger, where love knows no bounds, even after death.
hmm...I'm not sure how to review this because it wasn't a bad story but it was hard to stay focused while reading it. Now, with that being said, it could have been because life was crazy busy so I do plan to re-read it when I get a chance but for right now I have to say that it was just an 'ok' read.
Wow, this book I don't think I have read anything like this before.
I really loved it I was hooked from the first page. I don't want to give anything away because its good to go into this book without knowing anything. But wow, I just loved Ellie and Sam so much!
Definitely recommend this book.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
What an amazing read. Ellie needs a break so she goes on wonderful solitary vacation where she meets Sam. These two have an instant spark that goes beyond the physical. They spend their time getting to know each other, but what happens when their time on the island is over? There are many obstacles coming from very different directions. I love it when the author has the ability to make me feel the connection between characters. Kristina Beck did this flawlessly. I felt the gamut of emotions from beginning to end. The side characters are awesome too. I loved the sibling/cousin bond between Ellie and Gale and Sam and Cass. Ellie's mom and (most) coworkers are a great support to her too. Great story with many twists that will keep you up reading into the night.
While trying to escape the tension of her high-stress job Ellie decides to go on a solo trip to recoup and think. During this trip she meets the top-rated and handsome soccer player Sam. Sam is recovering from an injury and thinking about the future too. The question, is their encounter real or a shared dream?
The story has several twists that make the couple’s future questionable. The characters are in flux all the time. By that, I mean I couldn’t decide if the author wants me to like them or not. Sometimes I find myself rooting for them, then I can’t decide if I care or not.
Into Thin Air is my first book by Kristina Beck. I’m not familiar with her style, but I like what I find in this story. I don’t have a problem with bizarre stories that have breadcrumbs that lead the reader down different paths, but Into This Air confused me…a lot. So much so, that I didn’t know how to feel even at the end.
It is an exciting adventure. It took a little determination to get into the substance of the story. I started and stopped reading a few times. In my opinion, it is a pseudo-paranormal romance. I’m saying that maybe because of “the dream.” In some ways Into Thin Air reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode too. I do love unique storylines, and Into Thin Air is what I call unique.
My most significant criticism is the back and forth, judging the characters’ present by their past actions and experiences. At some point, we have to believe everyone can change. Waiting until the very end for that to happen frustrates me a little. Sometimes, I could put myself in Ellie’s head, and sometimes I want to slap her; the same with Sam. Lies of omission are still lying. Also, I can’t understand why Ellie didn’t reach out to Sam when he sent her notes with gifts. Like I said, frustrating. Maybe Kristina Beck wants the reader to experience frustration like the characters.
Into Thin Air is an OK read. It does make me want to check out other books by Ms. Beck. She has an engaging style that makes me want more.
Well then .... this was definitely a very unique premise which automatically means that reviewing this will be difficult without giving away major plot points!
I certainly enjoyed this read. It’s not necessarily paranormal yet there is an element of a sort of fantastical twist that I’ve never really considered before but now that’s it’s been laid out in this book, it definitely makes me wonder - could this truly happen?
Sam is a 32 year old famous soccer player and Ellie is a 31 year old lawyer who both find themselves on an island on vacation solo with the express purpose of having some alone time. But the moment Sam sees Ellie - he has to know her. When you read the beginning of this book and their time on the island - it’s almost like the entire experience is cloaked in some ethereal type of gauzy material. Nothing is quite clear yet you see and feel everything. The connection Sam and Ellie form is complete insta-love but it’s intense and real and as a reader - you totally fall for it. Especially Sam ... holy eff. He’s um.... perfect. #mine.
Tragedy strikes and the next thing our MC’s know, they are in hospital, separated and with a different life. As if the island never existed yet they are both left with their memories and the intense love they feel for eachother.
Wait what?! I know right. What is going on. Will they find their way back to eachother? What happened on the island? Where is the island? Was it real? What the hell happened and how can they get it back when they have such different realities?!?
It was really engaging. Sam was definitely my favourite character in this book with his unwavering love and devotion. I liked Ellie too but I’d have liked her slightly better if she could just figure out what she wants!! And the secondary characters that supported our MC’s in this book were top notch.
This book has mystery and confusion and love and obstacles with a little bit of a magical miracle sprinkled in. Great read!
5 Thin Air Stars! Wow what a beautiful, unique breath of fresh air!!
OMG I don't even know where to start!! This book is nothing like anything I've read in the past! This book will definitely leave you in awe! I've never read anything by Kristina before but after this one I will definitely be reading a lot more now! This book was so refreshing and so beautifully written, I can't even begin to describe how amazing this was! Definitely worth the one click and same day read!
Dreamy, well written . Kristina Beck knows how to keep a good story flowing.
Kristina Beck has become one of my favourite authors. Please keep your style flowing. Story was intriguing and spirited. She writes in a way that’s down to earth and easy to follow. Captivating.
Kristen beck has stolen my heart and attention !! She has created the amazing, perfect setting that is tropical and you wish you were there. These characters are so sexy and raw that you will not want to put it down. The way she weaves these characters lives together was epic and created so much happiness within me. She truly floored me with this romantic, steamy book.
These characters are strong and sexy. They meet in a relaxing atmosphere. You watch their journey that is full of chemistry and overall amazingness between these two people. It is definitely a book you will fall in love with!!
Into Thin Air, the newest book from Kristina Beck, has just been released. It is a beautiful story of Ellie and Sam who seem to have found their ideal love but then they need to confront the harsh reality and struggle to survive as a couple and to save everything they believed in. But how can you fight when you feel you can't be sure of anything! The story keeps you interested and has a number of spectacular twists that will not let you put the book off. As in the Collide series, we get the narration from two angles and this is what I also like about Kristina's books – we can accompany both characters as the story unfolds. I loved the concept of this book. The story is very well written, with an intriguing plot and juicy characters (yes, apart from juicy lemons there are also some juicy folks in it ;)). What about "a magical twist" of which we learn from the description of the book? I was very curious about this aspect too and… yes, there is magic… but – I will tell you no more. I couldn't spoil your experience of discovering it :) You need to find out what incredible story happened to Sam and Ellie. P.S. Bonus stars for a beautiful cover :)
Awww, this love story is what dreams are made of.....and I loved it! My heart experienced all the rollercoaster of emotions that the characters did from start to finish.......and I must say; that ending was made extra special for me by the appearance of a certain someone! Beautiful!!!!
Ellie is on a much-needed dream vacation away from her boss and the pressures of work as a lawyer. She meets Sam, a professional soccer player enjoying some time off from the real world. While Ellie is wary of relationships seeing failed ones every day, she can't deny being drawn to Sam. What ensues is a week of the two growing close in the idyllic setting perfect for romance.
I need to be vague with my review because it would be easy to spoil such a wonderful story. After knowing each other for a day, they both knew there was an incredible connection, things just felt easy and right between the two. Ellie is the strong main character we need because she's strong and assertive, she's a bit insecure in her relationship and that's completely understandable. Sam is sweet, he's open with his feelings, their relationship makes you swoon.
I was lucky enough to be able to Beta read this and I'm so pleased I was asked to. This was such an interesting and well thought out story, there's more to their relationship at play than the reader realizes. The characters are great and I really liked Cass and would love to see her get her own book. There's the right amount of tension, drama, and romance, a great combo for another wonderful read from author Kristina Beck, very well done!
What an original premise! This one will have you questioning everything you thought you already knew about fate, destiny and soul mates. With a touch of supernatural, Ellie and Sam's story is terrific and full of emotion and heart. These complex, flawed and authentic characters will work their way into your heart before you know it, and you'll hang on every word as you travel with them on their journey to forever.
It’s only fair to warn you that this is not a typical romance. You’ll be led down a lovely path, so touching and beautiful that you long to stay there forever, and then BOOM! You’re hit with a twist you never saw coming, leaving you breathless and grappling to hold on. But have no fear. Sam and Ellie’s road may be full of twists and turns, but their hard won HEA is so worth it! If you’re looking for something fresh and unique to read, this one has you covered, and you’ll effortlessly fall for these amazing characters!
*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author through a Facebook group. I had never heard of Ms Beck before, and had not read any of her other books.
I can say without a doubt that this book can be read as a standalone, because it wasn't until I logged in on GoodReads to find the book to leave a review that I realized that this is part of a series. At the time of writing I haven't yet looked at the descriptions for the other books. I will definitely be reading more by this author, and I am very sincerely hoping that one of them is Cass and JT's story. Yes, I have a near fetish level obsession with rockstar romance, but since JT wasn't more than a few only briefly mentions, there must be more to the story. There is, I fell in love with Cass and want to know more about both of them.
Without going near spoiler territory, I have to say this is one of the most unique stories I have ever read. I really don't want to say much more about Sam and Ellie because this is one of those stories you need to go into blind. If something seems a bit off in early chapters, hang in there. There is a reason for it, but you'll never guess what it is until you've read it yourself. I am really impressed when something is capable of surprising me so much.
Highly recommended. It's a great romp out of the realms of reality without actually being paranormal.
When Ellie and Sam meet at a resort, they get to spend the rest of their time there falling for each other, living in their own bubble of happiness. Something happens, though, and they're torn apart. Now in the present, they're back in each other's orbits, but things are different. Will they ever find their way back to each other?
I have to admit the twist in this story threw me, and kept me interested. Ellie (Stella) didn't do much for me, but I did find myself liking Sam a lot. The story itself is pretty entertaining, so 3.5 stars seems fair.

Having read and enjoyed the author's Collide series, I was intrigued to see what this new book would be like. I wasn't disappointed! I think this is her best book so far - it's well written, the two main characters are people you care for, and it has a story line that will take your breath away. (It has the most gorgeous cover I've seen in a long time!) Ellie and Sam meet are taking some much-needed time out from their lives at an exotic resort when they meet up, and fall in love. But then real life intervenes, with all its hurdles and problems. Will they get their HEA? I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but there are a few surprises along the way that will keep you gripped until the end. This is a great read for anyone who loves contemporary romance. Highly recommend!
