Book 8 in Danielle Stewart's, The Barrington Billionaire Series.

Layla Kinross is next in line for the throne. Not real royalty, but the niece of the current CEO at the wildly successful Kinross Department Store empire. The only problem? She’s not ready. There was supposed to be a long transition time but her aunt’s illness has uprooted the plan. The perfectly plotted next few years now must be crammed into a few short months.

Kenan Conner has taken the leap. Boarded the plane and left his seaside home in Gallamare, Ireland. He intends to finally be part of the family he never knew he had in South Boston. Nothing goes as planned when he’s fired from his new job for playing knight in shining armor for a lovely old woman who’s lost in the city. When she offers him a new job, it seems too good to be true. If only he can survive the wrath of her beautiful and fiery niece, Layla.

When loss and sudden change become inevitable, Kenan and Layla find themselves clinging to each other. But their grip may not be tight enough to survive all the people trying to tear them apart.

Writing is a way to make a lot of different people do exactly what you want them to do. When I can’t get my toddler to listen to me, I turn to my characters. They always cooperate!

I currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my husband and seven year old son. I have perfected the ability to write in a noisy house and create story lines while folding laundry.

Ten Things to know about me:

1. I have a fear of whales. All whales. The noise they make. The sight of them (even on tv). I don't think this phobia has a name and I've never met anyone else who feels this way. I blame it on the 3D movie when I was 7 at the Boston Museum of Science. (Thanks Dad.)

2. When I get hungry it brings out the worst in me. My friends and family know to keep me well fed. They pack snacks now.

3. I can cook but not bake. Not even a little. Not even a box of brownies.

4. If there is a song I like it is normal to hear me listening to it a hundred times (give or take) in a row.

5. I do not, under any circumstances, read directions. Who has time for that? Making mac & cheese by the seat of my pants for the last 25 years.

6. Like a black-out drunk, I have lost hours of my life mysteriously to Pinterest. If you haven't tried it yet... don't. Save your self.

7. Before I became a mother, lots of things grossed me out. Now nothing does.

8. My favorite food is food... my least favorite food is no food. I love food. (apply the same rule to wine)

9. I do not have a green thumb. I have the kind of thumb that kills any type of plant ever given to me. Whatever kind of thumb that is... I have it.

10. Writing has changed my life. Not just the career it's created but the way I feel when I write. If you have something you love to do I hope you get the opportunity to do it.

Awesome!!!

This has been an amazing series but this one is my favorite so far!
I laughed out loud, been on the edge of my seat & cried like a blubbering fool! The series has been that amazing! I sure hope we see more of James & Libby & Mathew & Jessica, as well as All the characters in this book! I also hope that Kenan & Layla get to go to Ireland to meet with his Auntie Aileen b4 she passes! Also Gloria was the best! Loved her so much! As well as stories about all his new found brothers! They’re a hoot!
I would recommend this series to anyone & everyone! It is that good! I’ve already told my daughter in law to read it!!
I can’t believe there’s only two more to read! I’m sad to be getting to the end as I read at least one book a day lately!! They are awesome!
Thks for your awesome stories & I hope u keep it up for a very long time!!

Loved this book

Loved this book from Danielle. Keegan and Layla what do they say opposites attract they actually get on better than most couples they bicker and snide each other and it’s funny, I loved Gloria she is hilarious and it’s sad but I love this book it is one able to reread often, Her exit was timed perfectly and I felt so sorry for Layla but Gloria lived and died on her own terms, what we all could wish for. Can’t wait for more in this series.

Kenan is a dream character! This book is a must read just to get to know this lovable Irish man! The story of perseverance, love, death, success, loyalty and everything in between will leave you feeling like you are in the middle of a group of your best friends. This is a great book to read quickly but I recommend you read it slowly and savor every word!

Another entertaining story

I breezed through this book in an afternoon because it is a compelling story and easy to read. I found the plot and characters refreshing and at times completely unpredictable. But that makes for a great story. My next book will be book 9 in this series.

Loved it!

Everything from the first word in this book is so good, the story is interesting and the characters loveable. Layla and Kenan are a fiery mix but kind hearted Kenan is what Layla Kinross needs. The Kinross empire is about to fall, can Layla save the company amidst heartbreak?

Layla and Kenan were thrown together based on the need to support one person with such exuberance!

Gloria has plans until her diagnosis gets in the way. Running into Kenan was fortunate for both her and Layla. Wonderful story line and character development. I love the dignity in this story.

Another beautifully story about family and saying goodbye. Danielle handles this sen siotive subject so beautifully and sensitive. Olive how she has Layla caring and worrying about her aunt while trying to stay strong for her aunt. Great job!

Kenan and Layla

With the wedding over Kenan moves to the United States to get to know his family and while traveling to his new job on his third day of employment he runs into a very confused older woman and stays with her until her overworked and over stressed niece can come get her. Turns out to be a lucky day for everyone.

This book is the most touching in the series and my favorite. Kenan's family is hilarious and so is Layla's aunt Gloria.

There is, of course, crossover of the characters from the rest of the series, but this book completely stands on its own.
