A diva wedding planner found strangled with a veil. A list of suspects longer than a cathedral-length train. Being a wedding planner has never been so deadly . . .
In the stressful world of wedding planning, Annabelle Archer always keeps her cool. The same can’t be said for Carolyn Crabbe, DC’s grande dame of bridal extravaganzas, who takes the cake in the “Big Day Diva” category. So Annabelle is shocked but not totally surprised when she finds the wedding world’s Queen of Mean dead.
When tragedy befalls more of the city’s wedding planners, Annabelle realizes her colleagues have tangled pasts and motives that stack up higher than a celebrity wedding cake. Can Annabelle unveil the killer before she or her sassy assistant, Kate, are the next on the wedding planner hit list?
To Love and To Perish is the tenth standalone book in the Annabelle Archer cozy mystery series. If you like charming characters, hilarious-yet-deadly whodunits, and fast-paced mysteries, then you’ll love Laura Durham’s Agatha Award-winning series!
I'm a writer and reformed wedding planner who loves quiet mornings, great books, paddle boarding, and blackberry cobbler.
I write humorous cozy mysteries about a wedding planner because I like books that make me laugh and because, after planning weddings for twenty years, I have a long list of people to kill.
TO LOVE AND TO PERISH #10 is a rewritten version of the original book 3 in the series. My original publisher held on to the rights for an extra year, so by the time to got the rights back to republish the book, it just didn't fit into the narrative of the story arc (since I'd written six additional books). I've edited the book to bring the story up to date within the Annabelle Archer world, but I kept the mystery consistent (and the killer is the same even though I debated a switcheroo). Readers who read the original will find some significant changes in the personal lives of the characters (a lot happened in those extra 6 books), but I hope it isn't too jarring. I like the new version better (primarily because Richard's dog Hermes makes an appearance), and I hope you do too! Thanks so much to the amazing readers who have followed me from the original three book series back in 2005 to the rerelease of the series in 2017. And I'm so thrilled to have picked up readers new to the series with the rereleased books. You all are awesome!!! Laura Durham
This was an easy, quick read. It’s been a long time since I’ve read this series but I was able to get up to speed easily. I liked the characters and the wedding planning was fun. Looking forward to reading more. #readforkimberly
This is Book 10, not Book 3 as stated. Cozy Wedding Planner Mystery This is another cozy mystery in the Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner series. Besides being a good mystery with too many suspects, it is seriously funny. The one-liners and outrageous behaviors will keep the reader giggling throughout the book. The plot is great, the execution better. The characters are fun and multi-layered. The is some stereotyping but all of it is good-natured and funny. I received the ARC book for free and this is my honest review.
To Love and To Perish (An Annabelle Archer Mystery) is another ACTION PACKED ADVENTURE in Wedding Tales! This novel deals with a Texas sized Wedding (and everyone knows EVERYTHING is bigger and better when you’re dealing with Texans a Wedding is colossal!) Being a Wedding Planner is not for the faint of heart. Consider the hours and working every weekend. Some clients are wonderful and continue to hire Wedding Belles for other monumental occasions. Then there are the Bridezillas and the Momzillas. Sometimes they are not even in the same Wedding Party. In this novel, Durham has presented Archer with a serious problem of the teetotaling Bride’s Family & the drunken Priest flown in from Ireland just for the purpose of presiding over the nuptials. When he asks to stop off at a pub between the airport and the Rehearsal, Archer knew she might be in trouble. She had no idea just how ugly things would get ... . To make things even worse, there’s been a murder, or two, or three - maybe it’s four. It’s difficult to keep up as Wedding Planners keep dropping like flies! What’s the common denominator? And the bigger question is WHO WILL BE NEXT? I was provided an ARC of this book by the author. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I have preordered a copy of this book for my own personal library.
Wedding planner Annabelle Archer and her sassy assistant Kate did not expect multiple wedding parties at their current venue and especially not one run by Carolyn Crabbe. Carolyn is the Grande dame of bridal extravaganzas and also the queen of being mean. When Carolyn is found dead at Annabelle’s event just before the wedding is about to start, Carolyn and Kate find themselves once again trying to outwit a murderer while getting a wedding underway without a hitch.
While this is the tenth book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone. Each book is filled with charming and quirky characters, lots of twists and turns, comical situations, and plenty of potential suspects. I personally love Annabelle and her penchant for solving murders. While she doesn’t always want to get involved and she tries hard to stay out of trouble, it seems trouble always finds her.
If you love humorous whodunits with a female main character, then the Annabelle Archer mysteries are something you will want to add to your book pile.

To Love and To Perish by Laura Durham is the tenth installment in this lovely series.
I have read almost all of the books in this series and they just keeps getting better and better. It is always such fun to spend time with Annabelle and the gang. Their escapades are getting wilder and more fun with each new book. I particularly like its dry humor, witticism and easy banter. Array of eccentric and quirky characters are one of the kind, and all this combined makes the winning combination. This is definitely one of my favorite series. This time danger is hitting close to home as wedding planners are being murdered one by one. As she together with her sidekicks rushes to solve the mystery killer is getting closer and closer and she will definitely have to fight for her light. For those who enjoy light mysteries with fabulous characters, lots of humor and just the right amount of romance it doesn't get better than this.
Holy moly! Wedding planners are being murdered faster than Annabelle and her wedding vendor friends can attend all the funerals. Will Annabelle and her boyfriend (Reece-a handsome detective on the homicide squad) be able to catch the murderer before the entire Washington wedding industry is eliminated? This book was interesting and entertaining. It wasn’t as funny as some of Laura’s other books, but the characters are still as wacky as ever. I guess they were more serious because it was their own friends and acquaintances who were being killed, rather than their clients or guests at their events. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to Laura’s next novel. I received a free Advanced Reader Copy and I am voluntarily writing this review.
I love this series, it is funny, laugh out loud funny! Entertaining, love the mysteries; I am thrilled the OCD Annabelle has moved up several steps with her drop-dead gorgeous boyfriend! Why don't they get married? Why can't she keep Peanut Butter in her house? I do not like that aspect of her personality. This Detective is too good for her, in my personal opinion. No man wants to be put last! The relationship would never last! Can she not buy a Cookbook, a slow cooker, and make him a meal at least once a week? He does all the giving; she does all the taking
Who's knocking off wedding planners? And is Anabelle next? If she doesn't stop investigating, or as she puts it only "a little harmless information gathering", she may just be the next victim.
Fun characters and entertaining adventures based on the author's previous career as a wedding planner. I love the wedding tidbits interspersed throughout the story as well as Kate's malpropisms which always make me laugh. A nice twist on the identity of the killer in this one. Clever titles and great cover art make this an appealing series that you can't wait to dive into!
Annabelle Archer is a wedding planner extraordinaire! A handsome hunky homicide detective for a beau comes in handy with the number of bodies she stumbles over.
In this book, the corpses are all other wedding planners - mostly the mean girls - the old guard, and all their insults.
So who has the wedding planners on their hit list? can Kate and Annabelle stay alive long enough to figure it out?
crazy wedding mishaps, slimy photogs with grabby hands, and lots of laughs along with the drama!

It's always an adventure attending weddings with Annabelle, Kate, Richard, and Fern. Especially when Leatrice tags along. I also love reading about the romance building between Annabelle and her hunky detective Reese. I'm entertained from the first word to the last, and have thoroughly enjoyed all the books in this series that I've read. I love the characters and the writing style as well. I have never been disappointed with an Annabelle Archer mystery!
This is the third story in the Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner series. It is enjoyable, fun and made me laugh. The characters are well developed and hilarous and kept me on my toes. With wedding planners being murdered Annabelle needs to solve the murders before her and her assistant Kate could be next on list. A great enjoyable standalone storyline.

I am a cozy fan but this is not just another cozy. This was so funny and I loved the characters so much! I had not read this author previously but I am now a big-time fan, especially this series. While murder is not funny, the characters involved in finding the body and in solving the mystery were believable and hilarious.

She is a wedding planner and she is shocked when one wedding planner is found dead, murdered. They were not a nice person and had many secrets. Soon more are killed and she needs to find the killer before she become the next target. Will she find out what is going on? See if she will

I loved this book. Annabelle is frantically trying to put out fires literally and then she walks into a ballroom and discovers Carolyn the Grande dame of wedding planners hanging by a veil of all things and she becomes the prime suspect.

I am in love with this series! You’d think weddings would get boring and redundant but not Annabelle weddings! Someone is always getting murdered and her and her gang are always trying to man a killer while keeping that from her detective boyfriend. It’s hilarious, mysterious and loads of fun!
Awesome story! Annebelle and her quirky friends are trying to solve the mystery of who is killing wedding planners before they are next! Lots of fun, twists and turns until the end! Keeps you guessing!
The best book ever in this serie. I love them all but this one is the cherry on top. I don't want to be a spoiler so let's just say that somebody seem to target wedding planners (and succeeding) with lots of unusual elements thrown in - like a bowl of honey, a wedding veil and plenty more.
Revenge is a dish best eaten cold as the trail of victims would acknowledge! But Annabelle and Kate may be the next in line so a bit of investigation does not come amiss! Well written with a good story line

I found this book to be a little creepier than the others (Annabelle peeking into rooms at a funeral home), but combined with the regular hilarious crew and the introduction of some new characters, the book is a fun escape. The accurate details about Washington, DC are great!
I loved To Love and To Perish. This book is fun and entertaining. I love the quirky characters and their witty banter. The mystery has many twists and turns. This series is always humorous and interesting. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the adventure in the next book.
What can I say, I Love love This series!!! The characters make me laugh out loud and the mystery keeps me guessing. There are sooooo many suspects, that I had fun trying to guess who had done it.
Who is murdering the wedding planners? Will Annabelle Archer be next or will she figure out who the killer is? This engaging series is so much fun to read.
Being a bride and having your wedding disrupted because of a murder, oh my. When wedding planners start being murdered right before a wedding Annabelle tries to figure out who is doing this as she doesn't plan on becoming a victim.
Annabelle and her crew were entertaining and funny as usual as they solved the most recent murder. You can't help but love the characters and their usual craziness.
I am enjoying all of Laura Durham's books. I can usually get a feel for wk Iho the murderer is, but this one had me totally stymied. A surprise ending is in store.
This book has an intriguing and engaging plot the characters all take you along will keep reading till the finale.knocked out of the ball park that I truly enjoyed
