Jouichirou is just a terrible dad... LOLL.. But I think it's funny that way.. He is being a weird dad with a different way to challenge his son to grow up and man up.... :D ....
But yeah, I am proud of the elite ten people.. they've grown so much better....

Yeah this direction is just wrong...when did it become a fan fiction.

World: The art is a little off, there is something there in the facial expressions that does not seem right. The world building is ridiculous also, the shift to the noir is alter the tone of the book and also the new pieces make no logical sense...I’m sure mobsters eat at fancy restaurants to...

Story: The story is taking a turn for the fanfic. It’s lowest common denominator and has resulted into boobs and ass, yes we get the beach portion of the story. Yes this series has always been a bit ecchi but it’s always because of the foodgasms and now that we have this section of the book the tone feels off. The framework of the exam makes no sense and there is not a lot of thought going into the process of the point of the exam, in the past it was thought out and now it’s just...”let’s do a beach house and have them wear swimwear.” The idea of Asahi at the school was contrived and makes no sense and the slow boil relationship that was earned with Soma and Erina is suddenly the main focus of the story and it’s over the top and ridiculous. Then there’s the cooking which has taken a back stage to the story and there are not even anymore recipes...what the heck is happening to this story? Did the writer suffer a blow to the head? And now with the kidnapping when he was doing well with wooing Erina, that makes no sense and the Blue tournament which also makes no sense with inviting the noir or not. This story is nose diving so bad and has completely lost the focus of what made this series good.

Characters: The characters are starting to be stereotypes of themselves instead of being themselves, it’s as if they stopped growing and are at their base level again. The new pieces are are also fairly ridiculous and makes no sense and the tension between characters is contrived. As I said last book, having Dad get beaten last book was such a waste of the entire story arc that began in chapter one.

So stupid! Is this really the same author cause it reads like fanfic.

Onward to the next book!

Still good enough overall thanks to the characters, but the new villain is really silly and the cooking sequences were pretty tame this time around. A great series may be limping toward a disappointing conclusion unless things pick up in the next four volumes.

3.5 stars. For the first 2/3 or so of the book I was really not that interested in the story, but it picked up enough at the end to make me want to continue the series again. (Though I'm gradually getting more and more annoyed with the general lack of clothing...)

Yeah, okay, a lot of the current plot elements are super ridiculous. But you know what I love? All the council members constantly bickering the whole time during their challenge! Hayama thinking Megumi is the MVP! And, of course, Soma being his usual self--I think it's funny that this volume is sort of set up to be a love triangle, only...Yukihira is way more concerned with challenging Erina than with wooing her like "Suzuki". There's a brief moment...buuuuuut then back to the food battle for the beach!

I'm not crazy about this whole --what the hell?!? But at this point I'm completely willing to just go with it and see how Yukihira manages to make another serious situation kind of hilarious. I have faith in him! And I love how Erina's handling it so far.

Bring on volume 33!

I really loved this series, but I think it should've ended at Volume 30. The rest so far seems like a spin-off since the main story has finished.

El arco "Noir" no es mi favorito, pero la historia me sigue gustando. Ojalá Joichiro saliera más junto con Gin.

I’m still liking how they’re keeping it fresh for the second year. The references in this one were namely Shojo/Soap Opera style. Lots of intense moments!

Well, I guess the power curve just went up. We see everyone is a leveled-up situation but we're also shown a whole new world of "noir cuisiners" and a shocking reveal.

You know, basing your series around a high school girl being sexually harassed by her employee, who is an adult, including kidnapping her and intending to marry the, as previously mentioned, high school girl, is bad! Very bad! And uncomfortable! And makes no sense! "Yes, let us stake your consent over a cooking competition" no! No you don't have to do that! "It's only fair if criminals get to be famous to" no! No you don't have to do that! Stop!

I don't think I'm a huge fan of this new story arc, or the main cast being on the council.

Food Wars: Shokugeki no Sōma!, Vol. 32 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (272–281) of the on-going manga series.

While Erina Nakiri and her Tōtsuki Council of Ten Masters search in desperation for anything on Saiba has turned out fruitless. While in actuality Asahi Saiba has gone undercover at Tōtsuki Culinary Institute as a substitute lecturer under the name of Suzuki. It is in this guise that he challenged First Seat Sōma Yukihira, which Suzuki won. It was then that Sōma Yukihira recognized something – the knife Suzuki was using was his father's knife.

The second half of the tankōbon focuses on the End of Year Exam, which takes place on the beach. The goal of the exams is to get the sales quota of the restaurant they're going to manage. Along with this, they are going to work in teams of ten and if they fail to meet the necessary amount of money, all members are to be expelled immediately. The goal for each restaurant to gain 9,000 yen a day, thus, they are staying for three days so in total, they would have to make 27,000 yen. Fortunately for Sōma Yukihira, he is teamed up with his Elite Ten friends, but their spot is more to be desired, they end up only opening up for one day, but managed to make 6.5 million yen.

Meanwhile, Erina Nakiri is kidnapped by Asahi Saiba and his Le Cuisiner Noir and reveals his face to her and the reason behind his appearance. He wants to make Erina Nakiri, who has the Tongue of God, an awesome chief, and the headmistress of Tōtsuki Culinary Institute and he intends to do so in the BLUE competition.

The BLUE or Bishoku Leading Under-25 Entrance is a world youth cooking championship where young chefs from all over the world gather and compete against each other and Asahi Saiba intends to defeat Erina Nakiri in competition and make her his wife.

This tankōbon is written by Yūto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. The End of Year Exam is a nice small storyline which leads to the bigger BLUE competition arc. The tankōbon goes into the back story of Asahi Saiba being a disciple of Jōichirō Yukihira, whom he treated Saiba as a son and would often visit him when he ventured into the States. It also expands on the capabilities of Le Cuisiner Noir and expanded on the BLUE competition, which for the first time this year, would admit chiefs from Le Cuisiner Noir.

All in all, Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Sōma, Vol. 32 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.

Walka którą będzie on toczył, będzie dla niego niezwykle istotna, gdyż zwycięzca zdobędzie Erinę (dosłownie i w przenośni).

This volume consists of two story lines, one of which is in keeping with the traditions of the series. The setting of nearly impossible conditions for a food competition are in line with what we've seen before, even if the conditions this time are based on not only producing and selling food, but also the creation of a place to do it. The time limits for that seemed totally unrealistic, especially given what they came up with.
That was actually the coherent part of the story. The new villain in the series is actually interesting at first, but quickly goes off the rails in ways that are creepy and weird, and just don't fit. It's like having Darth Vader in a Yu-Gi-Oh match, in terms of being jarring and non-fitting.
I'm curious how this is going to resolve, since the next phase seems to be a high-end competition of chefs from around the world.

There were two things that made me fall in love with Food Wars - Soma's upbeat, competitive, but always friendly nature and that he and all the other characters were so passionate, no obsessed, with food and honing their culinary skills. I also loved that different foods and cooking styles were valued here. Volume 32 was less charming that previous ones. A new character is introduced and announces that he is going to marry Erina. What's troubling is that it doesn't seem to matter how Erina feels about that. Hopefully volume 33 will set things right.

The second-years take their first-semester final exams by running beach restaurants and Soma loses a shokugeki.

This series feels like it's lost its fun heart. Teacher Suzuki is creepy and his courtship of Erina is a little gross ("You had a cheese stick stuck in your hair" is not a good dating line). The big reveal of his identity was obvious to the reader and even the characters should have figured this out.

On the other hand, I did enjoy watching our characters bickle and quarrel their way through the three day final exam.

I like what they are setting up here. The restaurant arc is interesting and isn't as an assured win as other volumes are. As another reviewer said, though, the story could have been closed out entirely in Volume 30.

To be honest, it feels like the author is unsure where to take this story and has resorted to adding drama for drama. As someone who consistently rated this story 4-5 stars, it’s a bit disappointing the direction this has turned.
