Ilona Andrews is the pseudonym for a husband-and-wife writing team. Ilona is a native-born Russian and Gordon is a former communications sergeant in the U.S. Army. Contrary to popular belief, Gordon was never an intelligence officer with a license to kill, and Ilona was never the mysterious Russian spy who seduced him. They met in college, in English Composition 101, where Ilona got a better grade. (Gordon is still sore about that.)
Gordon and Ilona currently reside in Oregon with their two children, three dogs and a cat. They have co-authored two series, the bestselling urban fantasy of Kate Daniels and romantic urban fantasy of The Edge.
3.75 - Demon Thingie by Ilona Andrews is definitely an unfinished story. That being said it is also very unique and drew me in from the very beginning. I enjoyed the world and characters very much and would have loved even more as it ended abruptly and too soon. Though they claimed it was not good and unfinished I found it unique and complelling, that just proves how talented they are.
Why on earth did the authors not finish this story? True, it was quite dark and slightly weird, but it has soooo much potential! The world-building is interesting, the characters have grown on me - they have just survived a very dangerous situation - and then CLIFFHANGER! Arggggh :-( If this ever comes out as a book (or a complete story at least) I will definitely buy it!
I hope sometime in the future IA will follow up on this story because it is very good. Sometimes I can't believe what is lurking in their brains, but this just reaffirmed that the possibilities are endless.
