On one of the worst days of Autumn Whittaker’s life, she meets Deputy Dean Thompson when he pulls her over—twice—for traffic violations. Though he smells heavenly and has a killer smile, she’d be more than happy to never see him again. She soon discovers that won’t be he’s her Friday night blind date. As much as she wants to keep her distance, Autumn feels her resolve crumbling when she repeatedly bumps into Dean, discovering there’s more to him than just the upstanding law officer that she first met. He’s everything that Autumn’s controlling, manipulative former fiancé, Jason, was not, and soon, she realizes that Dean might be the key to getting over her ex and finding true love. With everything going so perfectly, Autumn’s heart is shattered when Dean and Autumn run into Jason, and he reminds her that she’s average, ordinary, and boring. Can Dean show her that she has what it takes to make her own happily ever after?

Standalone novella that might be much enjoyed by readers & YAs looking for a quick reading simple & Clean romance w a HEA. Completed in under 2 hrs.
Fairly young FMC whose prev ex was a demeaning condescending jerk and recently published author. Autumn works in marketing, writing & reading in her free time. She’s hoping to get published someday as well, but her ex knocked down her confidence that such could ever occur. Autumn has not been dating or writing confidently since. Her bff recently set her up with a new-to-town guy; a decent, self-assured but nice man. Yet Autumn’s still amazingly & sadly stuck in the past. Will she give herself & Deputy Dean/MMC a chance to see if they Click? No mention of family. Clean HEA.

Autumn’s day was not going so well. In her rush to get home and ready for a blind date, she was pulled over for speeding in a construction zone, which meant the fine was double. If it weren’t for her anger, she could have enjoyed meeting the hunky Deputy. She was barely on the road again when she was pulled over yet again by the same Deputy, this time for a burned out tail light. Imagine her surprise later that night when her blind date turns out to be the hunky Deputy who pulled her over, not once, but twice earlier that day.
I enjoyed reading this clean romance novel. I thought the author did a good job displaying the emotional turmoil of low self esteem resulting from a verbally abusive relationship. It was very good that Autumn was able to meet someone who was supportive and kind. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good clean romance.
Autumn's friends are trying to get her back out in the dating world. What they don't realize is that for Autumn, Dean already has a couple of strikes against him. I picked up this book through BookFunnel last night and finished it this morning. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a sweet and amusing romance. The premise caught my attention right away and I started reading soon after. I'm glad that I did.
I love a man in uniform and Dean is so lovable. Emily and Hunter set Dean and Autumn up on a blind date, not realizing that Dean had pulled Autumn over twice that day. Autumn is not happy with their choice, lol. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens. I was so hoping that this book was longer, lol.
Super sweet quick read. As a fellow introvert, I identified with Autumn and enjoyed seeing her take steps to keep from becoming a recluse even when it would have been easier. And Dean fits into the perfect book boyfriend mold, so reading their romance was delightful.
A fun quick read. Sometimes it can take a while to get over a first impression. Autumn is a fun quirky girl and Dean is a big sweetheart with a great sense of humor. The banter between these two is a lot of fun. If you're looking for just a fun quick read, you found it.
A easy quick romantic read about Autumn learning to trust a guy after she gets pulled over twice, then the guy is her blind date. She has been hurt and controlled now she wants to be independent. I liked Dean the cop a enjoyable read.
I loved the characters, but was sad to see it over when it just barely got started. I think I'm just not used to reading novellas. It was a nice quick read in the middle of my day when I should have been doing chores. ha!
