Chloe could have had the perfect childbirth…

If only the baby hadn't come two weeks early

If only Jason wasn't working overtime to save his new television series

If only the television crew wouldn't antagonize the archaeologists working next to the set

If only the archaeologists hadn't found that dead body

If only the main suspect wasn't the beloved boyfriend of sweet Lizzie Warner, a girl who deserves to have it all…

Chloe’s first week of motherhood isn't going at all how she hoped, so she is determined to solve the murder, no matter what it takes. Perhaps then the second week can be magical.

This is a series I've been reading since the very beginning and one I would highly recommend reading in order. If I would have started with this book, I would have been completely underwhelmed. The characters development happen over the course of the series and the secondary characters all have a major part in different books so yeah, read them in order or you won't be very happy.

Because I have read all the books in this series, it was good to be back with Jason and Chloe again, starting a new chapter of their lives. I really wish there would have been more interactions between Jason and Chloe, more personal and intimate conversations. I felt like everything was very surface and I was lacking those emotional connections. Having said that though, I did still enjoy this story. Chloe is a smart gal and it's fun to watch her work her magic in solving crimes. I like where this next book is headed and how the characters are coming together in new ways. The ending left me wanting more for sure!

Content: A murder and murder scene is discussed in detail which was a bit gruesome.

ugh. what a horrible follow up to a decently light and enjoyable series. Theres unrealistic fluff because why not, they are romantic fantasy-esq books and then there is completely unnecessary, stupid, unrealistic bull sh*t that makes you so angry that you stop reading and want to throw your kindle across the room. Not exactly what I am looking for when I sit down to read light fluffy chic lit.

This series seems to be moving away from Romance genre and into Whodunit. Not sure this author has the writing chops to carry off a good murder mystery I found myself skim reading anything that didn't pertain to Chloe's and Jason's relationship. What a shame.

A truly delightful and entertaining story about a woman who just gave birth to a baby girl and is embroiled in a murder investigation, all in order to help a very dear girlfriend. She involves her actor husband and family in the investigation and we get a fun and rolicky adventure in the world of CSI, New Mexico style.

Chloe Vanderholt, married to Hollywood star Jason Vanderholt, is about to have a baby, and is called to help him at his current set where he’s filming the pilot for a television series. There’s an archeology site next to the set and they are yelling at the actors because they found a footprint in their site and they’re blaming the program cast. Since she’s unemployed at the moment due to her second-hand fame, she jumps at the chance and ignores the fact that she’s feeling twinges at her belly. She settles the dispute and makes nice with the “angry arkies”.

Just after she had the baby, she learns that there’s a dead body found at the archeological site, and that the FBI and the Tribal Police are involved investigating the murder. She also learned that the boyfriend of her friend Lizzie, who also works in the TV pilot, might be involved in the murder as a person of interest.

Being Chloe, she can’t resist getting involved in all the forensic stuff related to the murder. After all, this used to be her job and she loved doing it. Also, since Jason is filming an investigative pilot about a murder, he’s very interested in following Chloe around while she does all her CSI stuff. And on top of that, they are toting baby Bethany around as extra baggage.

The whole shenanigan involves the archeologists (since the murder occurs at their site), the Tribal Police (since the site and the set are in tribal land), the FBI, and all of the friends and family, hers and Jason’s. It’s fun and it’s convoluted and totally entertaining, as we follow all the friends that Jason and Chloe have collected during their courtship and marriage.

I loved seeing Jason so in love with his baby girl and cooing at her, lecturing his baby on doing her job and cooperate with mommy at feeding time. I also liked that this series is about Chloe, not Jason, and that Jason is shown as a man who is a star and has charisma but has his insecurities. He’s happiest when Chloe is near; now with baby Bethany, he’s even happier. He believes that her career is as important, or more important than his. Chloe’s mother, who was such an airhead in the first book, is now a responsible woman, working as Lizzie’s assistant and substitute mom, and she’s brilliant helping Chloe with the baby. I loved reading this book and visiting with all these wonderful and familiar characters.

This is book 6 in the "Someone Else's Fairytale" series. Chloe finally has baby Vanderholt! It is actually taken place in less then a 5 day time period for this whole book (There is to be another one!) so things move quickly, and anxiety ridden for poor Chloe. Emily has also brought in Lizzie Warner from another spinoff of this series called "A Safe Space". So you move forward a little with Lizzie and Devon's story. (Kyra also makes an appearance with her relationship status). You get a little more of Steve (Jason's little brother) and his lawyer talents as well as some brotherly back and forth that we haven't seen in previous books.
Everyone seems to come to Chloe to solve their problems, and why not? She seems to have put herself in that position, being someone that can be trusted, isn't judgemental (on the outside) and cannot seem to let her natural instincts of being a forensic scientist pass. To have a friend like that would be a treasure indeed. To be that person though, is costing Chloe her beauty sleep. Then add her precious baby Bethany and the first days of motherhood, she's a wreck.
You also get a look into Jason's pilot series at the beginning of each chapter. You get to see him being a doting first time dad, as well as a tag a long in Chloe's investigation.
To get into the mind of Emily (the author) would be something! She always has the most interesting plots and fascinating information I wouldn't even be able to know or think of on my own! She is an amazing writer and person in general. Thanks Emily!

Sleepless Beauty is another funny, sassy, entertaining episode of the Vanderholt saga. Chloe, the heroine, is juggling the birth of her first daughter, and all the related emotional turmoils, with the restlessness of finding a new status quo for her life, having left her job as a criminalist at the police department. She literally walks into a murder on the very day in which she delivers her baby, and of course, manages to both work on solving the mystery and being a new mom at the same time.
She is her usual witty, generous and loving one, but she has also grown to become more experienced, more self confident, and extremely smart and competent. In this book, she is unstoppable, and her adventures will enthral her old fans and capture many new ones.
The picture of her and Jason experiencing their new parenthood is sweet and captivating. Ms. Tippetts describes with affectionate irony their initial struggles, and let the reader watch as they quickly find a new stability for their little family.
Despite their unusual circumstances, their relationship is solid and down to earth. I liked the juxtaposition of Jason’s artistic, tormented personality with Chloe’s realistic approach. Both are extremely talented, intelligent and generous individuals that never fail to captivate the reader.
Overall. Sleepless Beauty is a ironic, engaging, very entertaining novel. I could not resist going back and re-read the previous books in this series, and I can’t wait to start the next one!

Someone Else's Fairytale was one of the first books I reviewed as a blogger, so this series is always near and dear to my heart.

Now that Jason and Chloe are living their HEA, with her being pregnant and Jason finally working close to home. You would think they would have some smooth sailing, but Chloe is a magnet for trouble and mystery.

This time around as Chloe is just about to give birth a murder happens near where Jason is working, causing Chloe's brain to go into overdrive. And giving birth only makes her more heightened to solve the mystery to help ease her mind so she can focus on motherhood.

Since all the characters have been already established throughout the series we just get to move forward with Chloe's detective work.

Throughout the book there is a parallel to Jason's pilot and to what is happening in real life. Also with both Jason and his co-star helping Chloe so they can learn more from her and also be near her while she's navigating the mystery and motherhood.

This is such a super sweet series with intrigue and suspense, while at the same time we get to see the blossoming of Chloe and her super awkward ways. Whereas now those traits are more endearing than awkward and have become part of her charm.

And the way this was left off it can either end here or its open to more. Best of both worlds as I see it.

Chloe originally became a crime scene tech in order to help crime victims like herself see justice done. While she is in the final weeks of her pregnancy, Jason is filming a pilot. His project had another known co-star until she pulled out after an aneurism.

Fernanda is a solid actress, but a relative unknown. Suddenly the funding gets limited and the network deal evaporates. Jason has long had a dream of filming in Albuquerque to be close to home and family, and it may just have evaporated.

Throw in that the much older boyfriend to Lizzie, a family friend and the young woman her mom works for, and Chloe has a built in mystery to distract her from the painful and scary childbirth and new mom stuff.

New adventures all around.

Exciting new opportunities and challenges.

I absolutely love the Someone Else’s Fairytale series by E.M. Tippetts. Chloe is a fascinating character--stoic and dealing with PTSD, yet with a sly sense of humor and a great need to protect the ones she loves. And now, with the birth of her first child, her carefully ordered world comes completely undone. I loved seeing how Chloe did her best to get some control over what she can control, and accidentally fall into a career that she might actually be able to maintain while juggling motherhood too. With the continued development of the recurring secondary characters, this series keeps getting better and better. Definitely worth the read.

Short but sweet

I have read all the previous books in this series, but they all stand up as read alones, as enough history is given. The characters are so well written, they are well rounded and you really get to know them. The story settings are well dis cribbed without spending too long on useless details. Chloe is a really great female lead, backed by a supportive cast and real life experiences. As mysteries go she's a great modern day Agatha Christie, without all the pomp. Love these books and look forward to the new working partnership and more mysteries to solve.

I enjoy this series but it seems to be moving away from Chloe and Jason's relationship and more towards Chloe's job and her crime solving. Now that she is a mother, it would have been great to see more heart to heart talks with Jason but it seems as though they don't have that connection anymore. It would have been nice to see them together more. It's still enjoyable but it's more of a mystery or crime-solving book that happens to have the heroine in a relationship.

Chloe's adventures have been a favorite of mine since I started this series a couple of years back. I've avidly followed her life as she struggles as a students, falls for Jason, grown as a woman, and works out her life to include everyone.

This book has refreshed all the memories I had of her. I love to see to her growing as individual, taking every high and low in stride and striving to create a balance without being inauthentic to her own self.

I'm very eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

I enjoyed the latest entry into the Someone Else's Fairytale series. Chloe has her baby (and getting her husband from the set to the hospital is an interesting operation) and works unofficially to help clear someone of a murder that happened near her husband, Jason's set, where he was filming a pilot for a new series. We get to met again all the people from the previous books and have a fun time catching up, along with a sleep deprived Chloe.

I have been reading this series for a few years. I love how the stories keep changing and adapting.

This story concentrates on Chole and Jason more with an underlying murder underneath. I was left guessing right till the end. Although having read safe spaces felt I had a better understanding of Devon.

Refreshing

Ms. Tippitts gives us lovable, real characters to deal with. Then she gives us interesting jobs for our main characters, who happen to work hard within their fields. You can identify with the characters, find the insider information interesting and want only good things to come to this couple.

These books keep getting better and better. I was unsure I would even like this series but I LOVE them all. More than just a fluffy romance (that some people like), this is a fabulous bit of mystery wrapped up in a wonderful group of fabulous characters.

Another gem

I can't get too much of Chloe and Jason. It was also sweet to revisit Devon and Lizzie. I like how Hollywood life is represented in Ms. Tippetts books. This book advances the saga realistically. A definite keeper. I purchased this book at the discounted intro price.

I always enjoy reading about Chloe and Jason, but I was disappointed in the way Lizzie didn’t have more faith in Devon. Yes he lied about something, but to immediately think he was a murderer was pretty harsh.
