Kinky Spurs #3

Hard-Riding Cowboy

Rate this book
Megan Harrison is the owner of Kinky Spurs. She’s mortgaged up to her eyeballs and works long days and nights, but she’s living life on her terms, not on her wealthy father’s. She’s done being in the cattle rancher’s shadow. She’s got it all figured out, except for the part that involves Nash Blackshaw. He’s a sexy as hell cowboy whose smile can easily charm her out of her tight jeans. The only problem is—their fathers were business rivals, and Megan and Nash have been taught to hate each other since birth.

Nash Blackshaw, a retired professional bull rider, has responsibilities on top of responsibilities. With his PBR career over due to back injury, and his focus narrowed on heading up the Blackshaw Cattle Company’s Guest Ranch, he shouldn’t have time to think about all the ways he wants Megan. But it’s all he thinks of around the sassy and sweet woman. She might be forbidden to him, but Nash wants to take her for a hard, kinky ride.

But small towns have a way of spreading gossip like wildfire, and not everyone is happy about their relationship. Especially when Megan drops a bombshell on Nash after one heated night between them. As much as Megan and Nash want to forget the old feud between their fathers and lose each other in explosive passion, they can’t escape reality. They are meant to be enemies, and Nash’s sizzling, dominant touch might not be enough to keep them together.

Hard Riding Cowboy is book three in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy. I loved the first two books in this series but I don’t know what it was about this one. I think it was my favorite, that Nash is my favorite brother. This book is sweeter than the other two somehow. Megan and Nash were perfect for each other. It just took them awhile to figure that out.

Suburban Men

Nash Blackshaw is the youngest of the three Blackshaw brothers. He was a successful rodeo bull rider until a severe spinal injury ended his professional career. Now he’s home and helping his family get their new guest ranch off the ground. Nash is used to a very different kind of life. He’s trying to adjust to this new pace. But he doesn’t know where he wants his life to go once things are squared away on his family’s ranch. What does he want to do with his life? He doesn’t like to look back at the career that was cut short. He hasn’t fully accepted what happened to him.

female bartender

Megan Harrison is the owner of Kinky Spurs, the western themed bar in River Rock, Colorado where both she and Nash live. Nash’s father passed away about a year ago but when he was alive, he and Megan’s father were business rivals, or more like enemies. Both Megan and Nash and his brothers were raised to hate the other family. Even now with Nash’s father gone, the hatred festers. Despite this, Megan and Nash have been doing a push and pull thing for years now, flirting, but never giving in. The animosity between their families is part of what kept them apart. Nash has been enjoying the game, the pursuit. Megan believes that it is all it is to Nash, a game. That if he were ever to actually win her, then it would all be over.

“He took nothing seriously. All of this was a game to him. She was a game. Megan needed, no, deserved to be more.”

three newborn kittens

When Nash and Megan finally give in to their chemistry, it was everything they ever dreamed of, and more. But, once will never be enough. Nash wants Megan more than anything he’s ever wanted, or needed. She makes him feel at peace somehow. There are things going wrong on the ranch, though. Things that set Nash’s family back significantly in trying to get their new guest ranch going. Nash is convinced that Megan’s father is behind it. That he wants Blackshaw land and will go to any extreme to get it. Can he keep his feelings for Megan separate from his hatred for her father?

“She needed, no wanted, to be more important than this bitterness he had toward her father. She wanted to matter. Especially to him.”

Megan cares deeply for Nash. But does he just want to win her? Is she just another way for Nash to win out over her father? Can she love Nash but keep her life with him separate from her family because they can never be in the same room together without trying to kill each other.

tied hands

I just loved these two. I do admit Megan frustrated me a bit but I did understand her decisions. She was acting out of emotions and I can’t blame her for that. She just wanted the two men in her life that she loved to care enough about her that they were willing to stop the feud. I also loved the closeness between Nash and his brothers, well, his whole family. I loved that Nash had no hesitation to talk to his brothers when he needed advice.

This has been such a fantastic series. I know that Stacey is working on another addition, Meet Me Under The Mistletoe, which will be Darryl, the town cop’s story. I can’t wait.

“He once thought fate screwed up. Turned out fate got things right.”

Stacey Kennedy has rapidly become one of my favorite authors, especially when I am in the mood for something "smokin" hot and sexy to read. She always delivers and never disappoints.
In fact this "Kinky Spurs" series have been some of my absolute favorite reads by this author.
I am officially smitten with these three Blackshaw brothers and was delighted to finally get to read Nash's story early (I received an ARC of this from Netgalley).

Nash and Megan have been eyeing each other and flirting for way to long but the bitter feud between their families has held them back from acting out on it . So when Megan and Nash finally give in to their shared chemistry at his brother's wedding with a passionate fling- it is simply never going to be just a one time thing between these two (no matter what they might tell themselves) .

This third and final story was really sweet with plenty of action and also a bombshell admission from Megan that leads to a deeply tender and satisfying romance. It also made for a perfect ending to a fabulous series. LOVED it.

Nash and Megan have been dancing around each other for years. But with Nash and her father actively battling out their animosity every minute of every day, Megan has tried to stay away from Nash. She knows that a relationship would be impossible between them. She doesn’t want to ever have to choose between him and her family. But things are never that simple in romancelandia and Nash and Megan end up finally giving in to their feelings for each other.

He wanted to change with her. Be the man she needed him to be. But above all that, it occurred to him that he didn’t like how she saw him. That needed to change. And soon.

Their story is still as steamy as the previous books and I really did root for these two. I loved that Nash was so determined to win Megan over and convince her that their one night meant more to him than anything ever had before. I liked that Megan didn’t roll over and give in to him so easily. I loved that she didn’t let her body take over and that she stuck to her guns when it came to the compromises she was willing to make, especially since a lot was riding on her decisions. She called out both Nash and her father and the show of support she got from the side characters was also really sweet.

Since the series first started, I’ve been antsy to get Nash and Megan’s story after reading little bits and pieces of their fiery interaction throughout the last two books. I was dying of curiosity to see how their HEA would come about. And the biggest question I had was how was SK going to redeem Nash and get Megan and him together, finally? A lot has happened behind the scenes and I wasn’t sure this was going to be a safe read .

After reading it from start to finish, I ended up really liking it. I liked the banter, I liked the sharp edged flirting and the red hot chemistry between the MCs. I really liked the sweet fluff too! These two had some really gooey sweet scenes between them. It was sexy but also so freaking cute at times. *sigh* I really liked Nash and Megan together. So I’m kind of sad I didn’t love it :(

For readers not as picky as me this will easily be a five star read. I loved the first book and the series as a whole is really good. I can see myself re-reading them all.

This is a Hatfield and McCoy romance with a love story between two feuding families and all the stresses that that may cause on a relationship. Unfortunately, one of the characters that is holding the grudge is also the romantic interest. Leaving Megan, the female lead, torn between the love of her father and the love of her life.

I enjoyed this story but was taken aback by Megan's stance and that stance kept me from really loving it.

Kennedy provided a story with amazing chemistry, strong family ties and a heart-breaking situation that tied me, the reader, to this third installment of Kinky Spurs.

I received Hard-Riding Cowboy from St. Martin's Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. Hard-Riding Cowboy is set for publication Feb. 5, 2019.

Another amazing brother, Nash, gets his HEA with Megan plus a cat and some kittens. Loved it all plus seeing all the brothers and their ladies.

Now, can there either be more books or a spin-off with the Carter sisters and their beer brewing.

This is another great addition to the Kinky Spurs series, with a story about two people who are desperately attracted to each other, but who have some major road blocks to having a relationship.

Nash Blackshaw left the rodeo circuit due to a back injury and is now helping out at his family’s dude ranch. But that isn’t what he wants to do long term, and while he’s searching for his future, he continues his pursuit of Megan Harrison, owner of the bar/restaurant, Kinky Spurs.

But Nash and Megan’s father, Clint, are on opposite sides of a bitter family feud and Megan doesn’t see a happy ever after for them. Still, she gives in to Nash for one night and the result is a child she hopes to keep out of the feud.

With this much baggage, can Nash and Megan find happiness together?

Nash is yummy. While he mostly presents the world with his brash, cocky side, for Megan and their child, he has tenderness. Megan is a strong, competent woman, who knows what she wants and goes after it.

With an intricate plot, steamy sex scenes, and two likeable people, this was an enjoyable story. We get to catch up with some of the earlier characters and get a better picture of the beauty of the Colorado mountains.

I loved Nash and Megan! They have so many obstacles in their way, but that doesn’t stop them from trying to make a life together. From the beginning, it seems that their stubborness will keep them apart, but it just makes them stronger. Nash must come to terms with the fact that things in his life are different and accept that they can never be the same. Megan must learn to trust her feelings where Nash is concerned, and stop avoiding the inevitable.

Stacey Kennedy saved the best for last and pulled out all the stops with Nash and Megan! I was bowled over by this book. Totally. The writing was absolutely stellar.
Nash, youngest of the Blackshaw brothers has always had a thing for Megan Harrison owner of the Kinky Spurs bar. Their fathers were sworn enemies. Nash is working hard trying to help his brothers with the ranch and it's survival, staying in one place spending his early year on the rodeo circuit until an injury forced him home. Megan steers clear of Nash, there's always a push and pull there, they both are attracted to each other but neither acts on it. Until that one night. The one night that changes the course of both their lives. Megan knows she needs to tell Nash and his response just about knocked my socks off. He totally supported Megan and would do whatever she wanted and wanted to be a hands on Dad. They kept this off everyone's radar for a while knowing news travels fast in their small town and waiting for a time to tell their parents. Nash and her father have a particularly ugly relationship. Her father is a nasty bugger and the only thing that keeps the old boy in line is her mother. She starts spending more time with Nash at the ranch, meanwhile the ranch is having some problems with sabotage and of course Nash blames her Dad. Megan is afraid that Nash will get bored staying on the ranch and find a reason to leave, so she's just a tad reluctant to go all in with Nash. So many great twists and turns and hot as Hades, this book is all consuming. I loved Nash and Megan. This book could not have been better! It's an absolute must read. Deserving of more than 5 stars.
I'm going to briefly whine about this being the end of this amazing series, so Stacey seriously throw us a bone and give us one more book because there are so many things I just want to know!

Stacey Kennedy is one of my automatic buys and she never disappoints.

I have been waiting for Nash since Stacey begin the Kinky Spurs series and just let me tell you that he didn't let me down. Nash and Megan have been circling around each other for as long as they can remember and all because of a family feud. What happens when they finally give in to their feelings and will the family feud stop them from being together.

This will definitely be one that I will re-read and I love all three of the books in this series.

This book picks up where the last one ends with the wedding of Nash brother and him being with Megan. The two of them have liked each other since way back in school, but the two families mainly the dads have always fought so they felt nothing could go on between them. Wanting to be a couple and finally take things public. The only problem she has is the constant fighting between Nash and her father every time they see one another. Trying to make a go of the ranch after their father passed, it seems every time they move forward something happens to push them two steps back. Nash always thinks that Megan’s father has something to do with all of the destruction that continues to take place. Now wanting peace for reasons only for her she gives them both an ultimatum to start getting along because she wants Nash in her life. Nash still working with the pain of losing his rodeo career does not want to lose Megan and somehow must find a way to not be angry around her father in order to be with her. This is a good story and I know the one that everyone has been waiting for. The author does a good job of bringing everything full circle. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. "Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review"
A contemporary retelling of the Romeo and Juliet fable about forbidden love, although with a happy ending, “Hard-Riding Cowboy” is a sweet and full of sex story between two strong individuals, Nash and Megan.
The super-cocky and confident male is not my favorite hero, but Nash has some redeeming qualities: he’s also super-tender, faithful and fiercely devoted to the heroine. His tender/sweet side is fully explored with the dog and the kittens (and the heroine, of course). I also enjoyed reading about his know-how and experience with horses.
There are lots of detailed sex scenes, some unexpected and a bit forced, and I skimmed through those parts, but what stands out is the unwavering feelings between Nash and Megan. (But roping the heroine!!!? I’m not sure I’ve enjoyed that part.)
I thought the injury that ended Nash’s professional bull- riding career could have been more thoroughly addressed and explored, not just the casual mentioning with no elaboration.
I'm grateful to the publisher, St. Martin's Press/Swerve, and NetGalley for providing a free copy

This book was a rather quick read. It kept my interest and made me want to keep on reading it. Megan and Nash find themselves giving into the attraction that they have for each other despite the history of family rivalry. Nash has to figure out how to put his hatred for Megan’s Dad aside if he wants to keep her happy.

I’ve really enjoyed all three Blackshaw brothers. This whole series is a good one. I’m so glad that Nash and Megan finally got their HEA. The story started out with a sexy bang. Uh, totally got my attention right from the first page. Nash with baby kittens is so dang adorable. After reading about the brothers, I need to check out other books by this author. [I received a digital arc from netgalley for an honest review]

Hard-Riding Cowboy is the third book in the Kinky Spurs series by Stacey Kennedy. I was really looking forward to Nash and Megan's story and it fit what I expected for the series.

Megan was a sweet heart. She was independent and a spit fire who spoke her mind and knew what she needed in order to be happy with life. She has had feelings for Nash for so long but isn't going to depend on him for her happiness. Nash is living half a life ignoring his failed bull riding career. Yet, whenever he's with Megan he feels alive and the attraction between them is intense. When Megan gives in to her feelings for one night she comes away from it with more than she ever expected. Now Nash and Megan are going to give a relationship a go but the feud between their families might be too strong to overcome.

I was sadly a bit disappointed in the 'kink' aspect of this edition to the Kinky Spurs series. In the first book the kink had seemed a little forced, the second book the kink worked perfectly for the cowboy, but for some reason I found it lacking with Nash. Yes he took the lead in the bedroom but besides a bit of hand tying action each time during sex there wasn't much kink to it. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes were hot, especially one that takes place in a hospital., but I guess I expected more from Nash.

Overall, Hard-Riding Cowboy was a great story about learning to compromise and putting others feelings before your own. It was filled with steamy sex and some seriously sweet moments, many of them including fuzzy four legged creatures. Perfect for fans of cowboy romance lovers who like a little spice.

"Because Nash wasn’t only testosterone and muscle, he was sensual and passionate. And when he kissed, he meant it."

Hard Riding Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy
Kinky Spurs #

Having read book one of this series but missed book two I was thrilled to read book three. This time we have Nash Blackshaw and Megan Harrison, in a bit of a Capulet & Montague situation, getting hot and heavy at a wedding. They have been circling one another for awhile and the push-pull game has been a fun one for both with a relationship on simmer waiting to come to a boil. One of the problems is the feud that raged between both of their fathers and seems to have carried on even though Nash’s father is dead. A number of bad things have happened on Blackwell land and though Nash is pretty sure Megan’s father is behind them she doesn’t want to hear about it. Nope, she wants to play ostrich and pretend everything is or can be “happy” - she does not have to make a decision between Nash or her father. There was one part of this story that reminded me of an O’Henry short story – think it is titled “The Gift” - in which the couple each pawn/sell something to buy a gift for their partner and I found that an interesting twist. Will Nash and Megan find a way to a HEA? Will Nash find a purpose for his future after being unable to continue on the bull riding circuit? Will Nash and Megan’s father find a way to co-exist without feuding?

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series or written by this author? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and SMP-Swerve for the ARC – This is my honest review.

I really loved this book. It's the third book in the series and last Blackshaw brother to fall. This book brings the heat, but it also packs in plenty of heart and feels. Nash had me from the beginning, but what he does for the cat and kittens I would be rewarding him just like Megan does. That's the moment Nash became top book boyfriend material to me. I just loved the way he is with Megan it brings out a different side of him. He has many swoon worthy moments. I do feel for Megan though because she's stuck smack dab in the middle of a feuding families. There is the heat and heart in this book, but it also had me laughing quite often. There is also a little suspense that keeps the reader guessing. Nash is a little adrift with no certain path, but with the help of his family and Megan he may find the perfect path for his future. This book is definitively a must read!

I love a good cowboy read…and Hard-Riding Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy nailed it!

After their friend’s wedding, Megan Harrison and Nash Blackshaw enjoy a night together that changes the future of their feuding families. Megan and Nash are from two families with a history. In this forbidden romance/enemies to lovers story, there is romance, banter, playing hard to get, rancher life-style, hot sex, stubbornness, strong family bonds, heroism…yeah…this book has it all!

I loved the flow of this love story. I really enjoyed all the banter and the fun in it as well as the drama. The characters, storyline, setting and heat were wonderful and I really recommend reading this one!

Small town, ranchers/cowboys, one-night stand, surprise baby, feuding families, girl squad goals, interconnected standalone.

Fast-moving story with plenty of character insight along the way. Piles in action, drama, emotion, but doesn't overwhelm. Megan Harrison and Nash Blackshaw have explosive chemistry, in the best possible way. Unfortunately, the Harrisons and the Blackshaws historically have a relationship that could also be described as explosive, but in messy and destructive ways. With support from his brothers and her friends, Megan and Nash start to build something together, but sabotage at the Blackshaw Ranch puts everyone on edge.

Considering that Nash has been such a hard headed dumba$$ in the last 2 books, he really turned over a new leaf and stood up to do what was right for Meghan. Admitting their feelings to each was a long time coming but in the end it was worth it. I would have liked to knock her dad down for him though. He's so petty. Boundaries man! But all's well that ends well so I'm rooting for these two.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the third book in the series - and I would definitely recommend that you read these in order, so that you understand the background to the feud. You will also get to meet the Blackshaw family and enjoy the development of the previous relationships.

Nash is lost, no longer a World champion, invalided out and with no goals in life - but he never stops having a thing for Megan Harrison, daughter of the family nemesis, Clint. At Chase's wedding the two of them agree to one night of passion, which has an unintended consequence. Slowly we see Nash learn what is truly important, and how his future finally has some shape.

The journey is not smooth, with some pretty difficult events affecting the Blackshaw ranch, but Megan is offering Nash a life which suddenly has meaning, so he will do all he can to make her happy.

There is also some wonderfully humorous and happy moments. I loved Megan training Gus, and the food table moment. The kittens added both fun and cuteness, and the horses gave Nash a view to his possible working purpose. All in all a lovely read, and I was really sad when I reached the end.

M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Nash is the hard headed, somewhat off kilter brother. However, he would die before letting his family down and knows that his ranch is the only thing that's keeping his family land in their hands. He knows that he has to make it work, but his hatred runs deep. When things start to go wrong at the ranch, he knows exactly who is responsible - proving it may be the end of his relationship though.

Megan has always had a thing for Nash. He was the bad boy of the group and she loved him despite his hatred for her family. When she has a hot and heavy encounter with Nash, what she doesn't expect is to fall even more for him. Megan knows that her father would have a fit if he knew that she had fallen for Nash, but she can't help what her heart feels.

Megan and Nash have to figure out a way to love and have their own family, all while juggling the issues that surround their love.

I like that Nash and Megan compliment each other personality wise. I wished that more was resolved when it came to Megan and her dad. I thought that it was somewhat left undone, especially given the animosity between the families. Otherwise, it was a sweet ending to this series. I loved all of the characters and am sad to see this series end.

I have been waiting for Megan and Nash’s story since I met them and I’m so excited to finally read it. Nash and Megan always and I mean always had a thing for each other but due to a family feud between the Harrisons and the Blackshaws they couldn’t act on it.

I did enjoy this book and I loved Megan and Nash, but there was something missing for me. I’m not even truly sure what it is that made me feel like the story was slow going. Nash is totally swoon-worthy and once he learns Megan’s secret he becomes totally dreamy and also saves kittens (very sweet).

I think it was the fact that Megan laid her happiness at the feet of her father and her man; throughout the book, she kept repeating she wanted to have true happiness and that would only happen if they got along. But here’s the catch she doesn’t try to get them to get along, she just makes her desires known and gets upset when the 2 people who hate each other don’t get along just because she said so. Also Megan’s father, Clint, was a major POS and I have to be honest at first I thought Nash was over reaching with his accusation but we learn somethings later on.

Just side note: Mrs. Jenny getting her groove back ;)

This was nice ending to the series, but I’m going to miss the Blackshaw family.

Spoiler:

Also I think the frivolous usage of money on a house Megan did NOT need was annoying. She never talked to Nash about her plans to move into a house nor did she discuss moving in with him. So when she gets mad she decides to buy a house (a house she can’t afford so she pawns her grandmother’s ring) and proceeds to feel bad when they make-up because she bought a house way smaller than Nash’s. Nash sells his house on Blackshaw property but then Megan withdraws for purchasing the new house because she knew how much Nash loved living on the Blackshaw property. So yes now they have no house but that’s okay because Chase will build them a brand new house; I have no idea what the purpose of this was. Oh and let’s not forget Nash buys back Megan’s ring and has to borrow money from his mother to do it.

Megan Harrison is the owner of Kinky Spurs. She’s mortgaged up to her eyeballs and works long days and nights, but she’s living life on her terms, not on her wealthy father’s. They have a night together following Nash’s brother’s wedding then Megan drops a bombshell on Nash .
This is the third book in the series & whilst it could be read on its own I personally felt having read the earlier books added to my enjoyment. The characters are well fleshed & the pace of the story is very good & I read into the early hours to finish it. Nash is the brash, arrogant former bull rider who rushed into a burning barn to rescue the kittens he’s been raising. So he’s a big softie really. Megan has been determined to succeed on her own & has worked her butt off to make Kinky Spurs a success. The pair have been in love with each other for years but haven’t acted on it because their father were business rivals but whenever they are near each other the air sizzles & finally combusts when hey get together. I’ve loved the whole series & this is a fitting end to the series as it draws everything together. An engrossing hot read which has its tender moments, not forgetting Gus, Diva & her kittens who will melt your heart
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Hard-Riding Cowboy is the third and final title in the Kinky Spurs series, and I've read and enjoyed the previous two novels in this series, which feature the Blackshaw brothers, but this one is definitely my favorite, and it gets 4.5 stars from this reader.

Nash is the youngest of the Blackshaw brothers, and a world champion professional bull rider, but his last ride was really his last ride, leaving him with severe spinal injuries and ending his career with the PBR that he so loved. After their father died, his 3 sons realized that their cattle ranch was in the red due to losing accounts to the neighboring ranch and its land hungry owner, Clint Harrison, and that they just might lose it. The feud between the Blackshaws and Hamiltons has been an ongoing thread that ties these novels together. The feud goes way back, and the death of the Blackshaw family patriarch did nothing to stop the feud--the sons picked up where their father left off. In order to save the Blackshaw ranch, they turned it into a guest ranch, and are struggling to make it a success, all while Nash tries to figure out what to do with his life when all he cared about was bull-riding--and one more thing, his neighbors' daughter, Megan Harrison.

Independent, strong-willed, hard-working Megan, owns and operates the local watering hole, Kinky Spurs, and is making a success of it. Megan has had a serious crush on Nash since grade school, but having watched the handsome and sexy cowboy flirt with all the ladies for years, she's treated his flirting pursuit of her as a game--she doesn't mind being chased by him, and he doesn't mind doing the chasing, but since she doesn't want to end up like all of this short-term girlfriends/bed partners, and she has avoided falling prey to his charms for years. That all changes when Megan and Nash are at the wedding of his brother and Megan's best friend. After the obligatory wedding party dance, the two finally give in to their long-time attraction, sneak away and have sex, but Megan is quick to inform Nash that this lapse of her better judgment is a one and done. Ha! Nash wasn't buying it, and neither was I.

Two months after the wedding, Nash notices that Megan is different somehow, cooler, and that she hasn't been engaging in their flirting game the way she once did. When he presses her for answers, she finally admits to being pregnant with his child, and Nash is stunned speechless. He's wanted Megan for as long as she's wanted him, and once he gets past the shock, he mans-up and is actually happy about becoming a father, but there's one huge problem--Megan's father, who's always hated Nash, and who Nash knows is not going to be thrilled to hear that Nash knocked-up his daughter, and so they wait several weeks before telling any of their parents, but they can't hide it forever.

It's bad enough that the family feud is ongoing, but when Nash and his brothers discover that their cattle are missing and that someone cut the fence between the two ranches, they assume it's just another way that Megan's father is trying to get their land. That incident is soon followed by even more dangerous incidents, all of them highly suspicious, and all of them leading to the person who will benefit most from these evil deeds, Clint Hamilton. All Megan wants is a safe, happy environment for their child to grow up in, but Nash has a hot temper, and after breaking the news about her pregnancy to her parents, outraging her father that she's pregnant by one of the Blackshaw brothers, the arguments become more frequent and much more nasty.

What I absolutely loved about this novel is the relationship between Nash and Megan, who are both hesitant to reveal their deep feelings for one another. There is so much sweetness and caring between these two fully-fleshed out characters, and the rest of the Blackshaw family as well. I'm so used to secret-pregnancy romances where the father of the secret-baby at first denies being the father, and assumes the baby was fathered by someone else. Not so in this novel. It was heartwarming to see how pleased Nash was to learn that he was going to be a father, the care and concern he shows to Megan, opening up about himself, his dreams and his feeling that the loss of his career left him confused and adrift with what to do now. I loved the way these two characters took it slow, something Megan insisted upon, and their many conversations, many ending up in some seriously steamy sex scenes, all made the reader feel that these were real people, trying to deal with real problems, real doubts, and with their own feelings for each other.

As incidents at the Blackshaw guest ranch escalate, Nash is nearly killed trying to rescue 3 foundling kittens from inside their burning barn, and when the fire is ruled as arson, and the next disaster follows on its heels--all the guests at the ranch come down with food poisoning, and Nash is beyond livid, and confronts Clint yet again, and the fighting and arguing continue, all in front of Megan.

Will these two men ever comes to terms with their love of Megan and the baby she's carrying? Will they ever settle their differences? Megan doesn't really believe it, and the decisions she makes thereafter add some twists and turns to the plot. Putting her baby's future first, Megan has her priorities straight, makes her own decisions about what to do, and if her father and the Blackshaws can't settle this feud, they'll both lose her and her baby.

The only negative in this novel, in my opinion, are a few loose ends, and there are several of them, but to explain them here would would mean giving spoilers, and I won't do that. It also took me quite a few chapters before I fully understood Megan and her need to earn her own living, make her own decisions, and take charge of her life, and I came to love and respect her midway through the novel, and in one of the sweetest HEA endings it's been my pleasure to read.

This well-written and well-plotted novel is loaded with the warmth and love of family, two charming main characters, a good amount of spice, lots of tension, and I read it all in one sitting, which ended at 5:00 a.m. this morning. Who needs sleep when you've got an un-put-downable novel in your hands? Certainly not this reader. I'm only sorry that the series is at an end, it was thoroughly enjoyable and I'm happy to recommend it.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

The story line was okay albeit predictable, the characters aren't perfection any way, they are opposites who kind of had known each other when they were young find themselves together in a situation that lets them learn about each other and themselves, Megan was independent and wanted to make her own way in the world. Nash try to find what to do in his life. he says he feels the thing between them but he can’t act on it because of The problems and tension between their families, there is a lot back and forth and twist and turn. The suspense element of the book fell flat for me, also got a little bored with the sexy parts and skimmed them some, in the end eve thing work good for them.

Se tivesse lido com mais calma e num momento mais romântico teria amado o livro.
Porém estamos cínicas com a vida e o livro não foi perfeito.
Não li os outros livros da série, mas deu para entender e foi um romance bem direto.
