Cute little book

Georgia Clay is about a high school crush that became a fairy-tale.. sort of. In it, you will meet Katie and Clay. Now Clay had the biggest crush on Katie when they met their senior year. He also saw her as the beautiful angel that was always out of reach. However, things definitely change between the two at their high school reunion.

They both love their jobs: she's an insurance executive and he's a songwriter. After a hot night filled with so much smut, they decide to try a long distance relationship. Now the smut and chemistry was good but the entire time I just kept thinking "When is the other shoe going to drop?" or "where is the drama??" because most romances have that shoved right into your face. Well, there wasn't really anyone trying to tear them apart nor was their some triangle of romance.. it was just work getting in the way of their romance.

Pretty realistic and a bit different.. but kind of a let down at the same time? I still enjoyed the crap out of this book but I was anticipating some sort of dramatic event to occur.. but what I got was a bit anti-dramatic? Still good though!

Overall, I enjoyed the ending. It was a cute book with lots of smutty goodness. I might try the next book of this series but I haven't quite decided yet.

Katie and Clay are reunited at their high school reunion. He is a songwriter, she an insurance executive. They admit they had crushes on each other back then and hit it off and proceed to have hot steamy sex all weekend. They then attempt to have a long distance relationship. Clay's career begins to go in a new direction, and they both struggle to cope.

I've got mixed feelings about this book, and I think it stems from how their careers are the only source of drama in the book. Realistic, perhaps, but not very exciting. I mean, let's face it, we rarely read this genre for "realism". That said, Katie and Clays's characters are nice and sweet and adorable together......but average. Thus the average rating.

I really loved this book. I loved Clay and I really liked Katie. It was such a sweet minimal drama. I love how they came to get together, how they just fit so perfectly together. It was literally like a fairy tale. I really liked Katie's "work husband" Dale, he was a great secondary character. So was Buddy. I also loved the country part in this book. I loved reading about things in Nashville - when I visited I wish I had more time there. Overall this book had little to no drama which was great to read. It was all about sweeping the girl off her feet. It was seriously too cute!

I loved how driven Katie was when it came to her career but she knew when to chose love over her career. It was just so perfect!

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) by KG Fletcher is the first book in her Southern Promises series. This is my first book by this author and I enjoy it. I will be looking up her other books. I enjoyed her writing style as it is easy flowing and creative. Her characters are both connectable and lovable. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions. Their story is about second chances. Clay is a song writer and Katie works in the insurance business. They both went to high school together. They run into each other at their reunion. They spend talking the night away in the back of his truck. As their relationship grows so does the love they have for each other. Clay has always had a crush on Katie. Will he finally tell her how he feels? Will she take a chance with Clay? I enjoyed both of these characters. They both know what they want and how to make it happen. Neither one has really taken the time for a relationship until they run into each other. I enjoyed watching their friendship grow into a relationship. Clay has a childhood insecurity that causes him to hesitate being in the spotlight. Katie is just dedicated to her job that she needs a little fun. The secondary characters in this book are supportive and connectable. I have my favorites just like I know you will too. They make the story flow into a fast paced story about love. I highly recommend this book. Find out if dreams really do come true!

This first book in the Southern Promises series is a heart warming romance that will leave you feeling enlightened. Clay will have you swooning within in minutes of his introduction and Katie will have you wanting her as your best friend. Their story is one of true love, it is what love songs were written about and it is about fate and destiny. As the words entice you further into their story it will have you wishing you could be sitting in the back of that truck on a clear night hearing his beautiful voice as it caresses your soul. Georgia Clay is a story that will make you believe in a love that is worth everything. Such a beautiful story to bring this series to a magical start.

Oh man! I ADORED this story and I LOVE a feel-good, love story! I was quickly consumed by Katie and Clay. Katie wasn't aware of who he was as a songwriter, but she was drawn to the man himself. When they bumped into each other, there was a pull between them. The relationship was realistic, the chemistry palpable through the pages. They weren't looking for love, but soon had to navigate a long-distance. This book made me swoon, laugh out loud, and want to throw my kindle but I couldn't read it fast enough. I wanted to grow old with Katie and Clay. Even though Clay was a star in Nashville, he didn't let it go to his head and both he and Katie are relatable to the reader. Living in Nashville, I found it fun to live vicariously in the music biz through Clay! It was a whole new world for Katie and she didn't realize how well known Clay was. She had a struggle on her own about making the relationship work. Be ready to not get anything done as KG Fletcher takes you on an amazing journey. Go one-click this book today!

Clay and Katie... reunited at a class reunion. Clay's always had a crush on Katie. Their friendship growing into a relationship was pretty steamy. Both of them work a lot. Clay has a little insecurity from his childhood. Hopefully Katie can help him with that.
These characters were written in such a way that you just want to know them. The story line was believable. I cant wait to see what happens with the next book.

A five-star read for me is a book where I am hooked on the characters and storyline from the first chapter. It is a book that I can't put down and one where I don't have a choice but to ignore everything else going on around me. Georgia Clay was that for me, and it has instantly added KG Fletcher to my 1-click author list.

Georgia Clay is the first book in the Southern Promises Series by K.G Fletcher. First of all, how have I not discovered this author before now? There are books I have missed out on until now…. If this book hadn’t have shown up in my feed, I may not have discovered a whole new source of wonderful reads. This may have been my first book by Ms. Fletcher, but it certainly won’t be my last.
This story was sweet, spicy, emotive, romantic, and well written. I loved Clay and Katie, they really were made for each other. I also loved the music theme woven through the story. I’m not a huge country music fan, but I can appreciate it- but after reading this story and then listening to the song at the end of the book, I can honestly say I wanted to go to Nashville and hang out.
Katie Parker is a successful Insurance Broker who lives to work. She loves her job and has worked hard to climb the corporate ladder and make a name for herself in the industry. She hasn’t had much luck in the relationship department, preferring to put her time into her work instead. She rarely takes time for herself, but dreams of one day travelling to far flung places. The story starts when she is on a rare night out to attend her 10-year high school class reunion. Katie’s really only going because her best friend Stacey wouldn’t let her back out. She’s certainly not expecting to bump into someone who takes her breath away.
Clay Watkins is an award-winning song writer, with numerous hits under his belt. His song writing has proven to be very lucrative and he’s sitting pretty. Clay is only attending the reunion in the hope of seeing Katie again. He had a huge crush on her in high school and he’s curious to see her again. When these two reconnect, they spend a wonderful night under the stars that neither would soon forget. But, they both have commitments that will take them in different directions, could they make a long-distance relationship work? You really should read this fabulous book for yourself, it is a real ‘feel good’ story.
When I got to the end of this book, I discovered ‘the’ song mentioned in the story really exists! I found out that Ms. Fletcher wrote the song herself and sang on the recording! She’s one talented lady. A fantastic author, a beautiful singer AND an amazing songwriter!! There is a link at the end of the book to listen to “What Would Happen If”…
So, I am off now to try and catch up with Ms. Fletcher’s other releases. The next book in this series, Georgia On My Mind, comes out in June 2018- it’s set to be sublime!
Yes, “Love always wins”.

Thank you, Ms. Fletcher!

Georgia Clay was a great 5 star read.
This is the first book in the Southern Promises series.

We start with Katie going to her 10 year class reunion. This is where she runs into Clay. Clay is now a songwriter living in Nashville and Katie works in insurance. Clay has had a crush on Katie since high school. They reconnect and catch up at the reunion.

When Clay calls and invites Katie to Nashville she is thrilled. Watching his performance moved her deeply and she got very emotional. It even gave me little butterflies. Clay is getting some great offers but his past is preventing him from doing them. Can Katie help Clay and get him to move forward? Can they make their long distance relationship work?

These two had some very hot and steamy moments. The secondary characters were great., I really liked Dale. I also had some LOL moments. The ending was great and I’m hoping that we will see more from these two. If your looking for a great second chance romance this is your book. It was fun reading about pieces of Nashville that I got to see while visiting last year, my favorite is the Batman building. This is my first read from this author and I loved it, I look forward to reading more.

Georgia Clay by KG Fletcher is the first book in her Southern Promises series and it was definitely a HOT HOT HOT read! Following the story of famous song writing country star Clay and Katie, was such a fun read. Clay has become a famous song writer to the biggest country stars, but anytime someone says that he would be even better in front of the spotlight he balks at the idea. Skeletons from his past keep him hiding his true talent in hopes that he can achieve happiness without having to bring his secrets to light. At a chance meeting, during his 10 year class, has Clay face to face with his old crush Katie. After a night full of memories and steaminess, they embark on a relationship that could change the course of both their lives forever. Will Katie be able to get Clay to see that he is more than enough for her without the fame, all while she pushes him to take the biggest step of his career? Will Clay be able to confide in Katie about his secrets and will she stand by him when the spotlight finds him? Fletcher is a new to me author, and I am so happy that I found her because this book was so AMAZING!! I have now bought all of her back catalog and can't wait to see the rest of this series. For a great reading binge this is an author that everyone needs to read!

Georgia Clay, Southern Promises- Book One by KG Fletcher. This is a new to me author and I was extremely excited to read this book!!
Katie Parker has always put her career first. So when she attends her ten year reunion, the last thing she ever expected was to end up in the back of Clay Watkins pick up truck. Clay always had the biggest crush on Katie and figured their reunion was the perfect time to pursue her. Will they be able to have a long distance relationship when Clay’s performing career takes a flying leap or are they going to end before they even got the real chance to begin?
I flew through this book. I could not put it down. I am so looking forward to the rest of the serious!!!!

Georgia Clay is the first book in the Southern Promises series by KG Fletcher, and it is a contemporary romance novel. The story is about a young woman whose name is Katie Parker, and a young man whose name is Clay Watkins. The two reunite unexpectedly at their high school 10 year class reunion which is held in Atlanta, Georgia, when Katie literally runs into Clay when she is coming out of the restroom. Katie is an insurance executive and she works late almost every day, and on weekends and holidays, and she hasn't taken a vacation day in years because she really loves her job. Clay is now known as “Georgia Clay” Watkins because he now lives and works in Nashville as a song writer, and he has written many hit songs for some famous country music artists. Clay has also won a Grammy Award for one of his songs, as well as several different country music awards.

When Clay and Katie look up after their unexpected run in, they appear to be happy to see each other. Clay has had a huge crush on Katie since their senior year in high school because she was one of the few people who were kind and welcoming to him, since it was his first year at the school. Katie remembers Clay as a shy and quiet guy, who was kind of tall and skinny. But she also remembers that at the high school talent show held in the spring, that Clay got up on the stage and blew her and everyone away with his amazing singing voice.

After they recognize each other in the hall of the hotel where the reunion is being held, Clay asks Katie if he can buy her a drink and they head to the bar. Katie cannot believe how much Clay has changed, since he is now broad shouldered, muscular, and very good looking. Clay thinks that Katie is even more beautiful than she was in high school. They decide to leave the reunion to go get something to eat, and end up getting fast food and eating in the back of Clay's pick-up truck. Clay and Katie are not big talkers, but Katie is impressed by the fact that Clay is a true southern gentleman. He drives them to a secluded spot down near the river that Katie has never seen before, and they end up having a romantic evening together, and Clay even gets up the nerve to kiss Katie. They end up talking and kissing until the middle of the night, and then fall asleep in each other's arms, waking up early to catch the beautiful sunrise. The couple end up spending the whole day together, until Clay has to leave to drive back to Nashville. Will they end up seeing each other again since they now live four hours away from one another?

I really liked this book by KG Fletcher. I love how she helps us to get to know these main characters on an intimate level, helping the reader to see what good people they are, and pulling for them to get together. I also enjoyed the other characters that we meet along the way. You can tell that Ms. Fletcher knows Nashville and Atlanta, describing these places in great detail through out the book, which helps the reader to see these places in our minds. This is a wonderful romance novel that I loved reading and I am looking forward to reading the second book in this series.

Georgia Clay is the first book in my very first series, Southern Promises. I was excited to write a series of standalone Southern romance stories that featured my hometown of Atlanta, GA and living in the South. This book is an homage of sorts to my time living in Nashville as a singer/songwriter. Much of what I write about in this story is from experience. As a professional singer, I have had the privilege of being behind-the-scenes in some pretty famous places, as well as performing in them.
A highlight of my career was performing original music at the famous Blue Bird Café in Nashville - talk about nervous!! My husband and I were newly married and collaborated as a country duo back in the day. It was a hard life, but so much fun! When I was writing this story, music became a secondary character. I wrote an original song for the book called, "What Would Happen If." You can listen to it on my website at www.kgfletcherauthor.com This is a song that Clay writes because of a little breakfast-in-bed game he and Katie played. "What would happen if, we stayed in bed all day long, and I wrote you a love song...."
I'm so happy readers are falling in love with Katie and Clay - it was hard to let go of these two! Book Two (Georgia On My Mind) will feature Katie's brother, Hartford. I hope you will continue the Southern Promises journey with me!

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises book 1) By KG Fletcher 4 Stars

This is the first book I've read by KG Fletcher. It is a cute romantic story. The characters are believable. The two lead characters, Katie and Clay, are on the fast track to love. It seemed like they fell in love quickly and turned their lives upside down in a short amount of time. This story was short and easy to read. It is a feel good romance with a HEA. It has country music in the forefront of this story and talks a lot about past and current country music stars throughout the story. I enjoyed the soundtrack at the end of the book. The characters are in their late twenties and have had no luck in the dating scene.
Katie and Stacy, best friends since high school, are headed to their ten year reunion. Stacy is excited to hook up with her high school sweetheart after the news of his recent divorce. Katie just wanted to be there and reunite with some old friends. The last person she could imagine reminiscing with was Clay. He had been a newcomer their senior year. She had been nice to him, but didn't get to know him very well. He seemed to remember Katie very well and admits to having a crush on her.... one that has lasted over ten years.
This is a good story with lots of feel good emotions. It would be a great book to pick up and finish quickly. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a sweet love story without a lot of drama. It has touching parts weaved into the love story.

Georgia Clay is Book 1 in the Southern Promises Series from author KG Fletcher. This is my first read from this author and now will not be my last. I can’t wait to see what this author brings to the rest of the series and her other books.
This author writing style was captivating, easy flowing and easy to read. She has created some wonderful characters that are real, relatable and very lovable.

This book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotion and has me feeling all the feels. I loved reading the journey the characters Clay & Katie make as they rediscover each other again after a night of chatting. Their relationship grows from strength to strength. It was wonderful to watch these two getting to know each other again and go even further this time.
I loved the element of music entwined into the story and how much of an impact it has on the characters and their lives. I was on the edge of my seat for most of this read continually routing for them that they get somewhere with their long distance relationship, but you also cannot ignore the twists and turns that are also entwined. But with that being said I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this read.

We cannot forget to mention the secondary characters that come into this read. They just help make this read even better, and they help bring out our main characters and compliment them as a whole. I also loved that it was written into dual POV’s it really gave me an insight into each character, what they really are thinking and feeling. It also helped me understand the character even more and gave me a side to them that makes you like them even more.

I cannot wait to see what goes on in I the rest of the series. This is an incredibly captivating and compelling read that should not be missed, I highly recommend it!

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) by KG Fletcher
I loved reading this book!!! The story of Katie and Clay drew me in from the beginning and kept its grip on me throughout the entire story. Let me start out by saying I love the way country music and its industry was entertwined in this fantastic love story. This book made me smile with my heart. When these two meet again at a reunion the chemistry between them is off the charts. Clay is a well known song writer, with a lot of talent of his own but has a secret he doesn't want let out for the world to know. Katie is a workaholic who needs to decide if she can handle being with someone who is so well known. I loved how I found myself rooting for them even though I know how hard a long distance relationship can be. I find myself talking about these characters as if it was a reality and I know them lol. That is a testament to how connected I felt with this story. The author did an amazing job conveying the emotions of the characters. Once you pick up this book you will not be able to put it down. It is a wonderful story that you need to read to find out what happens between these two, and the twists and turns this story takes you on. I give this book 5 stars, it is an excellent read I highly recommend this book.

After several months of a good-book draught, I finally found a novel that made me swoon. This book was amazing.

If you love country music.
If you love hot cowboys.
If you love Nashville.
If you love romance with a bit of spice.

Then you will love Georgia Clay, the story of how two people from separate worlds were brought together through country music. I loved everything about this story, from the detailed glimpses of the country music industry, to the romantic settings (the moonlight kiss in the back of the pick up truck...the rendezvous at the Lake...) to the steamy bedroom scenes--it all made for the perfect romance novel. The final chapters of this book made me cry, no joke. Things came full circle at the end, and I couldn't help but get super emotional about the stranger who came to the rescue followed by the amazing profession from Clay! That was just the icing on the cake for me. Katie and Clay had what I consider a modern day fairytale-like romance, which was everything I'd hoped it would be.

Then there was the added bonus of meeting Hartford Parker, the leading man in KG Fletcher's Georgia On My Mind, the second book in the Southern Promises series! I love how the characters are connected and now I can't wait to read Hart's story!

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1)
By K G Fletcher
Rated 5 stars

This is a great easy to read book. I really enjoyed it. The story flowed nicely. The characters are interesting. I loved Clay. Seriously what a gentleman! Finally getting his greatest wish! He seems like a nice southern guy who just happens to be famous. His family values are an attractive quality about him. I love the times when he is with Katie. It’s like I can really “feel” the emotion each one has for the other.
Katie is a great girl. She has wonderful friends in Stacey and Dale. Even though Dale had a smallish role I resonated with him and thought he did wonderful things. Every time he was in a scene I knew it would be good.
A few things I really enjoyed were when Clay called and asked her to come to Nashville for the first time.....I wanted to squeal right along with her! I was just as excited as she was. Also when Clay is singing on stage in the Bluebird. I got chills from everyone reactions to him. I won’t even talk about the end of the book..that one brought possible tears. Hartford...what to say about him?? What an amazing brother and he made me laugh and chuckle. Oh and I don’t want to forget the little game called “What would happen if?”
This is a first time author for me. As you can tell I really enjoyed reading and spending time with Clay and Katie. The story is so easy to read I felt like my best friend was telling it to me. Just wonderful.

5 stars!

Ahhhh this story absolutely stole my heart and ran away with it! This is the first book that I have read by this author and will definitely not be the last. Her writing was so beautiful and I loved every second of this book! If ever a book gave me all the feels it was this one! I don’t think I have rooted for two people as much as I did Clay and Katie for a very long time!!
I really liked Clay; he wasn’t at all like I anticipated when I first started the book. Although he was famous he didn’t have that arrogance that some stars do. I loved the connection between him and Katie. She was really sweet and a little naïve. I absolutely adored the moments between these two characters, I really could feel all of the emotions that they did and that is down to the wonderful writing by the author.
Along with Clay and Katie were some great secondary characters. They really added something extra to the story.
I really cannot wait to read more from this author in the future!

Georgia Clay is the first book in a Southern Promises series written by K.G. Fletcher and it’s the first book that I read by this author and it won’t be the last. I enjoyed her writing style as it is easy flowing and creative. The character are amazing, well written and I loved their banter with each other this made them feel more real. The storyline felt real.
We get to read about second chances Clay and Katie meet up after 10 years at their class reunion where they spend the night in the bed of his pickup truck talking all night. What happens when they get reacquainted?
Georgia Clay is a handsome, award-winning songwriter rubbing elbows with the elite stars of country music. An incredible talent in his own right, Clay has always hesitated to step into the spotlight on his own for fear his debilitating childhood secret will rear its ugly head.
Katie Parker is a workaholic Southern beauty who’s first love is her career. It’s not just her knowledge of the cut-throat insurance business she has skillfully navigated over the years, but her tenacity and gumption in climbing the corporate ladder.
As they forge ahead in a passionate long-distance relationship, can Clay admit to Katie she had his heart a long, long time ago? Will her drive and encouragement finally be the reason Georgia Clay takes a chance on his career…and love?
I highly recommend this book and look forward to more of Ms. Fletchers work..

This book was such a refreshing read. I had just finished a darker series and needed this type of book. I instantly fell in love with these characters and was championing for a HEA for them.

“He was her song; the melody that had been missing from her life.”

I love how their back story was intertwined into their current lives. I felt like I was getting to know their internal feelings along with them exposing their personal thoughts to one another.

I love the friendships, chemistry, loyalty and love for family, the struggle of balance with work and a new relationship. So much of this book can be relatable to many. From love, loss, taking a leap of faith and wondering if everything your hoping for will come true or be pulled from under you just as all the pieces start to come together.

I’m looking forward to Hartford’s story in book two Georgia on my mind. I hope characters from Georgia Clay are sprinkled into his story. I’d love to see where their journey takes them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining and engaging second chance at love romance and thought it was a great first book in a new series, ‘Southern Promises’. Georgia Clay an award winning songwriter is well known in Nashville and meets up with his high school crush, workaholic Southern beauty Katie Parker at their ten year high school reunion. Old feelings resurface and the couple spend until the early hours talking in Clay’s pickup truck. The pair then start a long distance relationship but Clay has never admitted to Katie that he fell in love with her years ago. Clay has never stepped into the spotlight himself despite his incredible talent as he’s worried that his debilitating childhood secret will be revealed. Meanwhile, Katie is a cut throat workaholic who is skilled in the insurance business.

When the musician and the career woman meet again their chemistry sizzles off the page leading to some steamy moments. Hopefully Katie’s love will ensure that Clay takes a chance both on love and on his career. The main characters were very likeable and relatable and the secondary characters were intriguing so I’m hoping they will get stories of their own. The setting was bought to life by the descriptive narrative and the storyline flowed well making it an easy read. The plot kept me happily turning the pages and I was hooked from page one. I look forward to reading further books in this series.

I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book but it turned out to be really good. It even had me tearing up at certain points. I’m not really into cowboys but Clay Watkins took my breath away. It wasn’t his fit form that attracted me either, it was that he was a true southern gentleman with a heart of gold. He had a major crush on Katie Parker in high school and when they bumped into each other at their high school reunion, he realized he was still crushing. She matured into a beautiful woman that left him tongue tied. They ended up in the back of his pickup truck watching the sunrise and their relationship blossomed from there. Having a long distance relationship and both having demanding careers was putting a lot of pressure on them. Could they overcome their issues and have a happily ever after?

It was an easy flowing feel good love story about two absolutely lovable people. An excellent start to her Southern Promises series.
