A past encounter comes back with a vengeance, throwing my world into chaos. Now, I must make a choice—continue to resist or give my persecutors what they want. One of my enemies has emerged from the shadows, but others are still unknown. The men of Pentabyte swear they want to help me, but with their ties to dark ops, perhaps not everything is as it seems. One question haunts me: Is this a partnership made in paradise or a hostile takeover?

Emma's bank account has been drained, her childhood home ransacked, and now her best friend, Zoey has been taken. BHC has shown that they will stop at nothing to get access to Emma's code. Emma has tried to be strong, to be independent but realizes that she can no longer allow her pride to stand in the way of accepting the guy's help. She had wanted to keep a degree of separation between her and the men of Pentabyte until her decision was made but the realization that she and her loved ones are in actual danger forces her to take action. As she hands over her safety to the guys, she also realizes that she has handed over her heart. Now she has to figure out what comes next; not only with her code but with her relationships. One girl, five guys. That can't work but she can't just walk away. As the guys try to protect her and reassure her that everything will work out, their own lives are caught up in the danger too.
Broken Process should come with a warning label. Everything intensifies in this third book of The Code series. The emotions, the danger, the risk of losing everything. The feelings expressed in this book brought out all of my own! Each guy gets his own moment in this book. If you haven't already fallen in love with each of them you will. Daniel and his shopping, his french toast. Jude and his love for Emma and his brother. Trigg on the kitchen floor. Jax and the bar, the chair. Gunner and the bathtub. Gunner and Jax bring me to my knees. Seriously. The time spent as a group was beyond perfect. I'm planning a trip to IKEA just to fulfill my own fantasy now. The bond these guys share with one another and the way that Emma has found her way into the group and their hearts feels so right, so natural. This is truly one of the best contemporary RH's available and gets better with each book. Clever and sexy; an unbeatable combination.
This book ends in total chaos. When the words ended, my screaming began. I am still upset that everything was left in such turmoil. I spent hours consumed by my thoughts; concern for Emma, worry for the guys and Pentabyte. It's time that they go on the offense. No more just trying to keep Emma safe. Now the fight really gets ugly! I NEED the next book now.
i DNFed this book a couple chapters is just because it was incredibly disappointing from the beginning. in the last book zoey gets abducted by one of the companies trying to buy emma’s code. so i’m thinking ooookaaay let’s go! FINALLY some action.
WRONG.
zoey walks into the apartment like half an hour after emma got the call. like, what was the reason of the abduction????
after this, jax and emma go out and end up in a bar. now, this is where i drew the line simply because there was no purpose to this scene except the author trying to showcase jax’s secret dark side or whatever.
emma gets drunk and proceeds to dance on the bar and strip down to her bra and panties. all the while jax and the men around her watch. this ensues a bar fight to which emma acts surprised???? like girl you’re dancing half naked at a bar filled with drunk men. PLS. emma’s character progressively worsened in a span of one book and this was just the cherry in top. also, what the hell was jax thinking? as kevin gates said, he was thinking with his dick and that shit is dumb.

This is the third (middle) book in this series. It is full of some great scenes, but not quite the steaminess that filled book two. Lots of talking like adults and relationship building with a hefty dose of drama and intrigue on the side. It was a quick, fun, read and leaves me wanting to see where things go for Emma and her men.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Whaaaaaat???? Blooming cliffhangers!!! Although all it has done is make me want the next book even more. I am really loving this series, the books just keep getting better....I am loving watching how the characters are growing and becoming a tight knit group...
Gah, I just don't know how to respond to this series.
The RH relationships stuff is absolutely spot on, in a cheesy, everything's just a bit too perfect sort of a way.
But the actual plot (Emma's developed some super amazing security software that - despite not even being finished - a rival company are destroying her life to force her to sell it to them) is completely absurd.
I mean, I could sort of suspend my disbelief when it wa just Emma and Zoey being targeted, because they made a stupid ass decision to move away from somewhere secure. But the idea that this big, bad, devious company are able to single handedly destroy the whole multi million pound company is just silly. And isn't Jaz supposed to be some super shit hot hacker who was all involved in the dark side of yhjga for years. How is he not sorting this shit out? Why have this super Markine trained badasses with all these connections actually going on the offensive? It's just bizarre and makes me totally roll my eyes.
I'm pretty invested in the characters now, but I wish the plot wasn't so silly!
All hell breaks loose, the guys’ company is hacked and failing, they’re loosing money and business and the fmc tries to “do the right thing” and negotiates with the company that’s pulling all this… cue the eye roll, for such an intelligent lead how stupid is she, really thinking they’d stop? She was better off recording their conversation when they literally admitted to everything.— that was the frustrating part. Then she finds out some of the guys knew her situation of getting robbed of the drone tech they didn’t know till later, except one did. Idk I’m at a point where I’m scrolling.
This series is DRAGGING I appreciate that all five of the male characters are given a decent amount of voice, but it’s literally dragging on and on and on. It’s killing me that this is book 3/5 I don’t know how much more of this I can take
Another amazing book from Bethany Jadin. This story picks up right where the previous book left off. I love reading about the guys' POV and their feelings while finding their ways into this RH relationship. It was great to here how they are all progressing into the new reality as well as becoming a unit within itself. With the men having such protective instincts and Emma realizes she needs them for more than steamy times, this story unfolds with some bumps, insecurities, hot moments, love, and suspense. Super excited for the next in the series! I was given an ARC for my honest review
I was going to wait and review this series as a whole on the final book but well, here I am. I'm hooked on this entire pairing, there is no question. And by pairing, I'm talking about Emma and her 5, yes count them, 5 men. This normally wouldn't be my jam in terms of reading, but what can I say? I've been binge reading reverse harem's for days and it seems to be something I find myself fascinated with. With all of that being said, I'm gonna put this out there because it makes me feel better. Where is the Jude action? Okay, action isn't the word I'm going for because we get plenty of Jude within these stories, in fact as the "boss" I mean, he's everywhere. What I'm missing out on here is a connection with him and Emma. So, I know, these books aren't supposed to be for the connection right? Well, I'd be inclined to agree, but in this case I can't because I'm seeing these moments between Emma and her men, these truly tender moments where the idea of love for all of them makes sense. When the bomb is inevitably dropped, I mean, it will make sense, but I'm not feeling it with Jude. Maybe its because I've still got two more books. Maybe this man gets showcased more in the one on one style atmosphere, but man, I feel I need to give my adoration and love strictly to Jude because I'm not seeing it here, or at least I'm not feeling it "yet". They all individually make my heart swoon. Make no mistake and even with Emma, they all make my heart swoon, but I really just want more Jude and Emma so it evens out the playing field a little. Anyway, this is a series I'm really glad I was recommended and I can't wait to dive into the next two books to see how everything plays out!
Dealing with the aftermath of the kidnapping and threats, Emma is in a panic and heavily relying both physically and emotionally on the guys. Zoey is slightly traumatized from the experience. The guys are doing everything they can to help both of them. They really are such amazing men. They are also finally addressing the elephant in the room and talking about the unspoken attraction. The author addresses it well. The guys don’t make emma feel bad or regret having feelings for all of them. It's handled very maturely.
Overall, I didn't like this book as much as I liked the first two. I felt it time jumped without making it clear. A new chapter would start, and I would read like it's a continuation of the last chapter only to realize we fast-forwarded. That confused me a bit, but it wasn't terrible. The worry over the polyamorous relationship dragged on longer than I expected it to. The dialogue was not realistic at times as well. I also thought the first 75% of the book could have probably been cut in half. It dragged a bit. The last 25% picked back up. Like always, it ended with quite the cliffhanger. These boys will have to put everything on the line for this girl. This is still a great series, and I have high hopes for the next books. This book only ranked four stars compared to the others' five stars for me.
This book blew me away. It is the third book in the series and the plot has thickened even further! Emma is still facing danger from BHC, and this book picks up right where it left off in book two with her home and best friend being terrorized by this organization. The danger only gets larger as Emma fights to make her own decisions and keep those she cares about safe, including the guys that have wormed their way into her heart.
I felt like this book was the perfect continuation of the series. There definitely was not as many intimate scenes in this book but there was a whole lot of plot and relationship building. This book may be my favorite so far in the series because we see Emma have little moments with each of the guys that melt your heart. I loved seeing their relationship progress as the idea of not choosing begins to circulate around everyone's heads.
Can I also just say that I love how 3-dimensional Emma's best friend is? She never seems like an afterthought to the story and I love how the author manages to integrate Emma's relationship with her as well as with the guys. Her friend also has such cute interactions with Emma's guys that I cannot get over it. I love a well developed best friend character so seeing that happen makes me really happy.
This book *also* ends on a cliffhanger! I absolutely cannot wait to get the next book and find out what happens to Emma and her guys as BHC starts getting desperate.
The third installment of the Code series was heavy in the feels; Emma and the guys dealing with danger, corporate espionage and the rapidly increasing feelings between the six of them.
The book starts out with a bang, picking up exactly where we left off in book 2. Emma’s best friend Zoey has been kidnapped by BHC. The authors portray the raw emotion everyone feels; terror, sadness, guilt and helplessness. While a horrible experience, the experience strengthens the bonds with the guys and leads to her getting to know the real Jax. #sohot
This book was a turning point for Emma and feel like she has matured more. She realized her actions, largely driven by pride, created an opportunity for her friend to be taken and caused the guys unnecessary worry because she wanted her independence, despite the security risk. Emma also addressed the proverbial elephant in the room (no, not Gunner), and had an adult conversations about her feelings for all the guys. I was impressed with how the authors wrote the conversations about polylove. The subject wasn’t just glossed over and just accepted.
I am literally on the edge of my seat to see how the crew gets through the latest debacle.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This series gets better and better with each book and in the third book of the series the story really starts to intensify! This book allows the reader to see what all the MCs are thinking, the multiple POV are fantastic and it really grabs the readers attention. I love all the guys in this story and Emma is such a strong character she just gels with them all wonderfully. And in this book we not only get the great group time but the connection is also allowed to develop between Emma and the guys individually. I have to admit that Jax is my favourite out of all of them, followed very closely by Gunner!! The emotions are at a all time high in this book and there is so much more at risk, more danger to them all and to Emma’s loved ones! But this book really finished with a bang and on a huge cliffhanger that left me yelling for book 4 immediately. The ending really leaves the readers’ mind in disarray as it is just all over the place, going from one character to the next and leaving doubt about what is coming next...this was done beautifully by Bethany!! This is a great contemporary RH series that really captivates the reader and makes them invested in reading more and more! Cannot wait to see what comes next and am counting down till book 4.
Seems like I'd only just started reading this book and then it was over. It's fast paced and full of action.
Lying through omission sucks. Lies in general are terrible, but omission based ones really make me mad, because the liar always seems to think it's ok. It's just another tool used to hide mistakes and in this book, Emma gets a handful of of these lies slapped in her face. She deserves honesty.
Emma is being relentlessly pursued by some people trying to bully their way into getting her security computer programme. Their underhandedness is disgusting. Their manipulation makes me ill. Emma is book smart, but not people smart and is totally taken advantage of here. I can't stand people whom prey on those deemed weaker in some sense. Yeah, I know there's that whole evolutionary theory of survival of the fittest, but I think decency should be revered.
Anyway, the last book made me angry because it reminded me of my mistakes, but this one made me angry because it reminded me that trashy, predatory humans are still getting away with hurting others for their own gain in real life. Grrr. Art is a mirror.
So yeah, I liked this book despite being angry most of the time. Time for book 4. 💜
Book 3 of The Code series, Broken Process, picked up right where Hidden Agenda left us, with Emma and her friends and family being targeted by a company desperate for her code. Faced with threats, uncertainty, and her quickly developing feelings for the men of Pentabyte, Emma has to come to terms with who she can truly trust and protect herself from the corrupt corporation targeting her.
In this book the guys' strengths really come into play as we see them protecting Emma and trying to stop the company that's after her. Their military training, connections, and even a little bit shady skills are used to keep Emma safe.
But, by the end of this book, it's clear that Emma isn't the only one at risk in the fight for her code. The enemy goes to great lengths to ensure Emma is alone and the men of Pentabyte have their own issues to worry about.
In this book we see Emma come to terms with her feelings and really let go of some of her insecurities to allow herself to trust the guys and accept their help. But, just when everything seems to be getting better for them, Bethany Jadin throws in that ending!!!! Now I'm on to book 4 to figure out what happens next!
Well Emma and the Pentabyte owners, at this point, have fallen in love with each other (her with them and vice versa). But is it enough to save their harem romance? Emma is cornered after taking her time deciding who she wanted to sell her software program to.
BHI wasn't having her put them off any longer because they're desperate to force her to sign their contract and win her software program so they sent off a chain event that crumbles Pentabyte's reputation by crashing their stocks at rapid rate with IRS and other government officials all over them like swarms of flies all the while cornering Emma and forcing her to see everything incriminating, documents and informations on the men she was in love with, that was shared so gleefully by her ex JackAss and the Ice Bytch standing by.
Emma is so crushed and confused while trying to finish the coding of her software while waiting for their call for her program. In the meantime, the guys are trying to rally up after nearly falling apart and go after Emma, they make plan to do that..... Warning, cliffhanger. Hopefully this is the last one! I gave this book 5 cups of hot java, ☕☕☕☕☕.
This third book in the series is such an exciting read. It picks right back up where book number two ended and we get right back into the thick of it all. Broken Process is the book where Emma and the guys finally come together. This is an important book for their relationship and there's some deep soul searching here. I love how the authors have built their relationships together as a group and individually and how they're working, and talking through their emotions. I'd say that the beginning and end of this book is where most of the action is, the middle of the book is about the relationships. The ending was a complete shocker for me and I could really feel the panic the guys were all feeling. I'm not going to spoil anything by saying what happens, but I really need to read the next book soon as I need to see the guys fighting back at what's happening and to know Emma is ok. I'm really loving this series and think the authors have done a great job so far building it all up for us readers. It's a fun, exciting and suspenseful read and Broken Process gets five stars from me.
This is the third installment of The Code series and starts where the previous book left off: Emma's best friend was taken by BHC in order to pressure Emma into handing over her code. I really like how rational the main characters are, they all make great choices. Emma turns to her guys for help instead of trying to do it herself. Her best friend gives amazing advice and is just so kind and lovable. The guys are understanding and allow Emma and Zoey to make their own choices. I find it very annoying when a character acts rashly and without thinking about consequences, so reading this installment is a treat :) In this book, Emma struggles with the concept of being in a relationship with more than one man. She is open about her feelings with the guys and I loved how they handle it. After that ending, I am anxious to know what's going to happen next! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh this is testing Emma and her relationship with the 5 guys And has anybody noticed during sexy time nobody has mentioned about contraception lol She should be pregnant the way they are haha
So some secrets have come out and it’s caused Emma to question herself and her relationship Jeremy her ex and his company have been nothing but cruel. I have to be honest I’ve even been puzzled with this chaos that’s happening now We have 5 men who have each got their own abilities and without trying to spoil the story and give away anything, I’m surprised the situation wasn’t easy for them to resolve I know it makes the story up and keeps us on our toes and wanna know what happens next etc Just confusing how they havnt dealt with it differently
This is the third book in the series and you have to have read the previous books first.
Things are definitely hotting up for Emma, both with the guys and also with the company after her code, it seems like there isn't anything they won't do in order to persuade her to sign over her code to them. Even the guys are not off-limits anymore.
This book is steamy and they finally get around to talking a bit about their unusual relationship.
I love how the story is told from all the different points of view, you get to find out how all the guys are feeling too.
It is annoying me a bit that Emma won't just sell to the guys, I mean, it's pretty obvious that is who she will end up with. It would put a stop to all the danger they're putting themselves in, especially if the bad guys work out where she has it all saved.
I have been eagerly awaiting this after reading the first two books in the series. The excitement is hotting up, as Emma’s relationships develop and grow between Emma and the guys, the danger ramps up in the fight for her software. I love Emma’s relationships with each of the guys and how different they all are. I also love Emma’s relationship with her bestie Zoey.
The writer really draws you into the story, I am pulled completely in and I love the mix of emotions in the story, from Gunners easy humour and fun to the twins surliness and tough guy personas. The storyline is great and runs at a smooth pace, it is really well written and I am totally enjoying this series and this book is extremely exciting
Amount of sex 2 / 5 How explicit 3 / 5 Story 5 / 5 Overall: 5 / 5
Broken Process is the third book in a five-book series called, the Code. It is necessary to read the books in order to fully understand and follow along. The characters are engaging and well developed, and the storyline is gripping and simply delicious!
Broken Process begins where we were left off in the second book, Hidden Agenda. It has a bit more action and drama than the other books and pivotal for Emma emotionally. She is trying to understand her feelings for the men and coming to terms with it. As Emma and the men are getting closer, the other companies are still fighting for her attention.
Absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the next!
Another great read from Elaina & Beth (a.k.a Bethany Jadin) as she continues Emma's story. After having lost her job and her home (in previous books of the series), Broken Process follows along as the boys provide a sense of safety for Emma & Zoey following Zoey's kidnapping. We also finally see the start of the Reverse Harem aspect of this story, as Emma talks with her five men about the feelings that are developing between herself and all of them. With another issue cropping up at the end, to make us all want to read the next book now, it'll be great to see the six of them start to further build these relationships and maybe start to see them all get on top of the issues with BHC!
I received a free copy of this book from the author for review consideration.
Emma has had such a chance to grow as a character. She starts to realize that she doesn't have to just rely on herself and Zoey to get through what is happening to her. BHC keeps going after Emma and her guys know how to make her life easier. I like the connection that the guys all have with each other and how they react to the growing relationship with Emma. They are all such interesting and different guys that it makes one jealous of Emma. I think my favorite part was the tub scene with Gunner. I couldn't stop laughing to myself picturing this guy in a little bath tub with bubbles all around. I am always looking forward to more in this series. Check out the complete review at underthebookmark.com
The tension is rising, stakes are getting high, how are they going to save the day? This book was left on a cliffhanger with the next book to be released in May. I adore the characters in this RH and how they are making this unconventional relationship work. Five guys and one girl (along with her trusty BF) in a modern world, fighting through corporate espionage, hard ball recruitment tactics, and the desperate lengths an opposing business will go to in order to get ahead.
I HIGHLY recommend this series to those who enjoy contemporary RH. This author has now earned herself a place on my auto buy list.
Underhanded business, fierce friendship, smart lead characters, romance - this series is so much more than the covers seem to show. I'm enjoying binge reading the series, each a cliffhanger with a leap to the next. It feels more like an old fashioned serial movie, with a touch of XXX action.
An example of the writing, shared between six POV's:
“The thing is, I’ve never met a woman who can handle my relationship with these guys. You’re worried about us being jealous, but the reality is, none of us has ever been able to find a woman who isn’t jealous of what we have. But you fit us, Emma. I’ve been looking for you for a long time. We all have.”
** Cliffhanger-ish Warning! ** Wow! This series gets better as it progresses. This is still a fast-paced, fun, and suspenseful contemporary, while it's also a reverse harem romance. Things have gotten pretty intense with the bad guys, BHC Incorporated, hurting and threatening Emma, her friends and family. I like how it's not just the physical danger causing Emma problems, but now the emotional stuff is really kicking in.
I still despise Jeremy and BHC. I still like Emma, though she is pretty dense at times. Going along with the reality of smart people doing stupid things, the guys of Pentabyte have quite a mess to deal with. I'm not going to wait to read the next book in the series. Why was I trying to stretch it out before?
