ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?

IS THERE NO MERCY AT THIS AUTHOR'S FEET?

IS THIS A CRUEL JOKE MEANT TO ENCOURAGE VIOLENCE?

NO? THEN WHY, OH WHY ARE WE LEFT WITH A MOTHER OF A CLIFFHANGER?

Now that I got my rant out of the way, ehem, I will proceed to give an honest review.

THIS BOOK ROCKED!! BACK AND FORTH BABY!

The second in The Arrangement series, this was a short, SHORT, novella that is part of a multi-series of novellas surrounding the Hero/heroine, Sean and Avery, respectively. I fell in love with them in the first installment and did all over again with this one! Despite being so damn frustratingly short, they pack a punch!

The story literally takes off from where it ended and we are treated to the angst-filled love brewing between Sean and Avery. Just when things go shit they get good again...only to become the mother of all shit. I love these two and am reeling from how things were left! Thankfully the third installment is out...actually, why am I still writing, DAMMIT! I should be reading!

Awesome series, can't wait for the good stuff to happen to these two. Still lots of secrets and to be revealed and love to blossom! LOVED IT!!!!

So, here is the deal. These books are good. They are written really well. However, they are really short. Asnof now there are 7 "books" so far, and no matter how good they are I am just not okay paying $3 for a book thqt is only 70-100 pages. Especially when each book picks up where the last left off. My opinion...combine the first 3 or 4 into one book sell it for 6-8 dollars, and combine the last ones as well. Just not worth it to me. Maybe they will eventually sell it as a boxed set or something, but I just don't like the way its set up...I'm basically paying over $20 for what should be two full length novels.

Sean and Avery have sex. ..then he runs out saying he just can't do it. He is very hot and cold in his treatment of her. Avery thinks she's in love with Sean. Obviously, something bad has happened to Sean...we just don't know what it is...maybe we will finally find out in booo 5 or 6 or 13...I'm just not interested in paying that much money to find out...especially since its designed in this while start, stop, start, stop manner.

Was macht ihn aus?

WOW
So far this series is a 5 Star read for me!!
The slow buildup between Avery and Sean is keeping me happily hooked to this story!!

Avery and Sean's first "date" was cut short by Miss Black and her body guards.
This arrangement had supposedly come to an end because Sean broke the rules by taking Avery outside of the hotel.

The angst hurt a bit in this one.

Poor Avery, her hopes were dashed of having the chance for Sean to be her first.
She's in a desperate situation and doesn't want to continue to work as a high priced escort if Sean is not going to be her client.
Marty convinces her to give Miss Black an ultimatum, either she sets things back up with Sean or Avery is out of the business
My heart plummeted when Sean turned down her offer at a second go.
I was feeling the rejection too, when after their first date was cut short, Sean made no effort to contact her.
He's a walking contradiction!!!
It's obvious he feels for Avery but he goes from hot to cold so fast!!!
Avery definitely has fallen for him.

The way his eyes drink me in, the way his hands feel on my skin, and the way he teases me makes me crazy--I've never reacted to a guy like this my entire life. There was never any heat, not even a spark. That's what makes things with Sean all the more insane. From day one, I felt something for him. He walked into my life and filled a hole that I didn't even know was there.

Something weird is going on with Sean.
Why does he hate being in NY and why does he run hot one moment, then cold the next.

I felt for poor Avery.
She's so in a bad way with no family to love and support her.
For some reason, she has connected with Sean and feels like he is something so much more than a client.

I forget all the pain that plagues my soul on a daily basis and lose myself in him.

This story is like sweet and relentless foreplay.
I was dying for the two to become intimate.
Well holy hell when it happens, all I can say is, it was sooooo worth the wait.

The inevitable does happen.
Avery is a good girl who ended up in a rough situation.
Turning to this job that goes against her morality but what helped her go through with it was her attraction to Sean.
She then has doubts if what they shared was real.
She was in fact a call girl providing a service to him and this starts to tear her up inside.

Sean also starts to pull back.
My heart is aching for Avery and I can't help but LOVE Sean!!

Can't wait to read what happens next!!!!

5 Stars!!!

3.5 Very Steamy Stars

So.... part II picks up with Sean and Avery in the hotel room and "a couple of kisses and smiles later, and I sound like I'm ready to marry the guy."

description

Everything is going hot and heavy until Miss Black, the madam comes knocking at the door. Rut ruh, some rules were broken and now the arrangement is off. Poor Avery is still a virgin and Sean is in trouble.
Avery goes back to her dorm and college life until she asks for a second chance with Mr. Ferro (Sean.)
At first he rejects Avery's offer but then changes his mind; his very troubled, confused and full of secrets mind.

When the two of them finally have their arrangement once again, it is full of this:
description

And... some of this:
description

Avery is feeling better about being a 'call girl' until Sean goes all dark and broody and says "I thought I could do this, but...I can't. It's not you. I-" and walks out the hotel door.

So, now we are left wondering...

OMFG! Seriously, cliffhanger again but it is worth it with what was written before that last paragraph.
The way Sean's body was described..... -sighs happily- **if only he was real**. Plus Avery and her temper with Sean and her roommate later on. O.O you wouldn't want to mess with her when she's ticked off. But what happened later on is what she was thinking of and in her eyes, from what I read, was amazing for her until you read that last page.
Anyway, seriously hotter than the first but since it is barley the 2nd part. who is to say.
I can imagine and hope it will get better for Avery or not, especially with this ending. Hopefully yes. ;)

The second hot and sexy installment of H.M. Ward's new NA series of novellas is just as good as the first. Each book pulls you in a little bit more and leaves you wondering what's going to happen next! Sean and Avery's chemistry continues to sizzle and burn, and the questions about Sean just keep piling up!!

Book number three, WHERE ARE YOU?!

Well needless to say The Arrangement #2 is another torturous novel! That ending!!! Ugh I am so happy I got to read this book a little in advance...however that also means I have to wait longer! If you don't know already I loathe waiting! Not that Holly's books aren't worth it, because they so totally are. Plus the more reviews she gets for her books the faster the next book comes out so...read and get to writing those reviews peeps! I promise to love you forever and ever.

Anyway, onto the review!!

The arrangement part 2 starts off right where part 1 left off which happened to be...Sean's hotel room. Avery and Sean are getting with the hot and heavy when suddenly there's a beeping and then a knock on the door. Miss. Black shows up with two bulky men who take Avery out the the hotel suite and back to Miss. Black's office. Avery is then informed that Sean disregarded the rules by taking Avery outside and that she will be given a new client.

Avery has other plans in mind. She makes a deal with Miss. Black that if she can have Sean again she wants in if he does. After a bit of convincing on Avery's half and an exciting date that takes Avery's emotions to a whole new level, they're back on. However, that's when things become complicated. When Avery shows up again for Sean will they be interrupted again by Miss Black? Or will Avery's own fears and heart get in the way or what she wants?

Loved this book. Avery is awesome as always. I liked that I got to read a little more into Avery's friendships and her roommate situation. Avery's life does not get any more uncomplicated and I think I love the fact that for now her life isn't perfect. However, I do hope she gets her happily ever after in the end.

When Avery & Sean finally decide to move forward & things are heating up, Miss Black put a halt to their first date. She claims Mr Ferro has broken the rules & there are no negotiating the rules with Miss Black. Avery is heart broken because she was ready to go all the way with Sean & now she is not allowed to see him anymore & continue to work for Miss Black. Avery just can't find it in herself to see anyone else besides Sean & decides to end the whole thing. With her world imploding once again, a good friend suggests that she tell Miss Black it is Mr Ferro or no one else. When they come to an agreement & Avery just hopes Sean will go along with it. Will Avery & Sean ever get to finish what they started or is Avery going to be left wondering what could have happened?

Another short sassy installment of the Arrangement. It seems every time poor Avery figures something out for her life, life throws another road block in her way. She will have to fight for what she wants & is prepared to do so.

So. Apart of this series to be so dang short, it's such a HUGE tease! Seriously, I've never been teased like this for as long as I can remember. H.M. Ward better be writing for the next volumes now or I'll end up reading and re-reading about Avery and Sean - and lemme tell you, it will not do you good 'cause you'll find me up at you computer *snap* just like that! But still, thanks for creating Avery and Sean's story. I greatly appreciate it! (happy face)

Basically, The Arrangement 2 continuous from where the first one left off. And I mean, from where it really left off. Our lovely hero & heroine were finally getting hot and heavy when complications arise. Rules happened and stuff occurs but nothing stops these two from doing what they both wanted. And boy, oh boy, were they so freaking hot.

I'm a little disappointed that since the story progresses, I still know little about Sean. Only that he is super rich and drives a bike. He wears designer suits with a coat and drives a bike? Aren't you worried you'd ruin your couture? Because I'd surely be. And, Avery, darling. I still like you. I like that her personality maintains being reasonable, shy, and adorable. I hope we'd get an in-depth description about these two in the next installments to come.

I am so excited for the next best thing I don't know how I can contain my excitement!! It better be not too long because I just want to hug Avery after how this thing ended.

For those awesome people out there who haven't read this mini series yet, it's not too late to catch up. I know it's not as highly profound as other NA books but if you want a quick get-away from those heavy books, then this is totally perfect for you. And that way, we could gush about it together!

I am very slowly falling in love with this series.

The second one picks up right where the first finishes. Avery and Sean are in his hotel room and are planning on a VERY sexy night. Sean is being his usual charming self, and Avery is trying to figure out how all of this is going to pan out.
"Pull that lip back in right now or I swear to God, I'll kiss you so hard that you come."

Sigh. I love me some Sean.

And then it happens.. their little secret is not so secret anymore and Miss Black is back and demanding Avery leave, leaving a stunned Sean behind. Their arrangement is over and Avery is completely back to square one, as well as Sean being in trouble. How is she going to sort her life out now?

A new arrangement is made and Avery and Seth are back together again.. but it's not without it's struggles. At first Sean disagrees to the new arrangement - he is so confused, so broken it seems and completely full of secrets, but Avery grinds him down and he agrees..

I loved the 'new' arrangement and was so excited to see where it went, unfortunately it wasn't TOO far. Suddenly, Sean's secrets are right at the front of his mind and he is running as fast as he possibly can away from the situation.

I loved this next installment but am still left wondering - what is Sean's secret? I hope it isn't too long before we find out.

Don't get me wrong with my rating, I enjoyed the book but felt as if I was being ripped off as a reader. Ms. Ward broke apart this story into eight books charging $3.99 each. I will continue to read the series, one because I did purchase them based on the other series of hers I read and two because I like the characters. The depth she has displayed in developing them and mainly because I want to see how the story ends. But as a reader I am so frustrated by how short each book was for the price. I doubt I will consider her next series. There are other writers out there with just as good of stories for much less of a price.

The irony that this over priced and drawn out single "book" disguised as a series is about a high cost but lower class inexperienced call girl who is drawing out her relationship with the wealthy but needy young man and is therefore raking in the money with each encounter with the one man to whom she could and should be having a relationship and encounters with for FREE is not at all lost on me.

Maybe the author is trying to tell us something?
description

For $70 for the soft copy edition ($7 x 10) of this "single book in a series", one would expect this to be a well crafted story book.

But instead of a well crafted $70 bottle of wine,

description

one gets a partially filled bottle of home brewed ale!

description

IF I had paid the full price for this book and the 7 proceeding books at $7.19 per paper back "edition" or the e-book $.99 (1st "teaser") through $2.99 for series 2 -8, I would have been outraged by now.

description

Because I got to read these books for free, however, I am not outraged - just merely disappointed. (I am also mildly offended for my friend however who paid $22 for the kindle series 1 - 8. Assuming she buys 9 and 10 at $2.99, she will be paying $28.00 for the equivalent of a single digital Kindle book!)

description

As someone who has been reading amateur fan fiction for years, I must say that this story is not much better than much of the former FREE fan fict. That said, it is also not up to the best of the fan fict. that I have read over the years - much of which has now been pulled to publish in the last several years.

Given what one could get for FREE in amateur works or for $7.99 in the standard quality books by established authors, I am simply amazed what people are paying for this doled out artificially created "series".

description

I think it is inexcusable to not write a story and go back and edit and revise it to make it one comprehensive and cohesive story and book and then publish it and be done!

In fan. fict., where there is live development, stories take time and are "published" piece meal as they are works in progress. The Arrangement is not being published live and so there is absolutely no reason or justification, other than to milk the reader, to make this a series.

For established and mainstream authored books, a series is usually comprised of individual fully developed length books that have a complete story with resolution OR a trilogy would be a VERY long and complex story that requires due to length a division in publication. Each book may explore different people or build upon one another but again each book can largely stand alone.

There is absolutely no justification for this to be a series when each "book" is very short and there is no resolution to an individual story and the characters have basically stayed the same through out - except again to milk the readers.

description

It is a generally poorer quality book (and almost any product as a matter of fact) that results from a linear seat of the pants, piecemeal development plan. Quality requires a master plan, continuous review and editing, and testing BEFORE release to the consumer. Even books with a stream of consciousness style are not actually developed from a stream of consciousness!

I am offended for all readers who have come to the this table month after month, having paid full price and patiently waiting with expectation, only to be served one course of warmed over left overs. Leftovers, which in this case at least promise some flavor, but often blandly fulfill the caloric requirement but are never fully satisfying.

description

I am mildly offended for my friend who has not only been strung along but also has been pinched for a total of $22 so far for the kindle editions 1 - 8 with no end in sight.

description

I don't give 1 star reviews because either I do my research and just simply avoid anything that bad, or I just stop reading the book and don't bother even remembering it no less bothering with a review unless it is a new book and I feel compelled to warn my friends or more it is so bad that I am wildly mad about being ripped off.

I am not giving this "book" or the other "books" in this inflated "series" a one star review because I got to read the books in a few sittings (VS going hungry for months), and for free (VS paying over inflated prices for a "piece" of a book), and because it was mildly entertaining.

description

I am however not giving it a higher rating than 2 stars, even at the free rate, because I am not at all satisfied with the quality of work and the lack of an ending YET AGAIN as this series continues with no end in sight ...

Read More Reviews Like This On My Blog

Part #1:

This Book was suggested to me by one of my facebook friends and I was so happy to have been directed towards it, because I'd never heard of it and I was looking for something short that I could get through within a short amount of time...

So anyway, Arrangement was the first of the many book suggestions I had received.

Anyhoo... I rather enjoyed this book. It was funny at the beginning and I really enjoyed the method the author used to introduce us to Avery and her struggles :)

Since it's a very short book and does continue in part 2 of this series, my review wont be long and worth much. There's still a huge part (I'm hoping) that needs to take place in the second book for me to honestly give a throughout opinion on this, but so far so good.

The only issue I had with this book - was the quick turn-around that Avery had regarding 'The Arrangement'... she went from never ever, in a frumpy loose-fitting pullover to slipping on silk stockings and gearing to go through with it all - way to suddenly for my taste.

The progression wasn't eased but rather rushed and since it continues in part two... I didn't find the rush necessary.

Other than that... I did enjoy the storyline. The writing is great and like I've mentioned... the humor is really good... I adore dry humor.

So if you find you are stumped for time (like I am) and can only get through some novella's... this one should definitely be on your to-read list :)

Part #2:

Part two in this series is only slightly less interesting than number one. I didn't feel the connection within this book. It was good, but only slightly more of a damper than the first. I don't actually know why this is... it may be, because in the first, lots happen, but honestly, from the start of this part to the end, it felt like it was a filler read... and boy do I hate filler's. I guess what I'm saying is that number #1 and number #3 could have been combined, half & half with the second one. The only interesting part in this book is, is that Avery actually does become a hooker and that's all that changes in this second part in the series.

Part #3:

In part three, the story progresses somewhat. The secrets are revealed, but... it's not a shocker. I became annoyed by the amount of times Avery (or the author actually) said "Sean"... it became repetitive. Here's an example:

"To my surprise, Sean says the next line of the song. I smile at him. Sean continues to recite the verse and soon his words turn to song. The velvety sound of his voice sounds perfect. Sean pulls me to his chest and sings just for me."

"I stare into Sean’s eyes, unable to blink, unable to breathe. This feels real. I don’t know what to say. “You get to be with me as much as you want. You bought me, remember?” Sean’s eyes dart back and forth between mine. His hand strokes my cheek again. The sensation makes my eyes close briefly as his warm fingers trail across my chilled skin. “But it’s not like this.” Before I can ask him what he means, Sean’s lips are on mine. He kisses me fiercely, pressing his mouth firmly to mine. His hands rove my body, carefully moving over areas that no one is supposed to touch. His hands slip over the curve of my hips and under my sweater. I feel Sean’s cold fingers press against the small of my back. I arch toward him and Sean pulls me tighter. He kisses me like he’s never going to get another chance."

It got to the point where it began to annoy me and it really irritated me when I started to notice it... and this set the mood for the entire third part of the book. I mean... if it's only the two of them in a room, we don't need to be reminded that it's Sean she's with... I don't think any reader would have forgotten who had his hands down Avery's pants lol...

Other than that, I didn't really like the way it ended. I think short stories should conclude to a point in each part... at least finish one drama and then in the next move to another, but these seemed to end right on the edge and although that guarantees I'll read the next to find out what's happening, it's drawn out too long. Now with the fourth installment not even listed on GR yet, I have no idea when it's set to release and I'm afraid that by the time it does, I'd have forgotten that I wanted to know what happened when the third part ended...

Overall Conclusion: I'm interested... don't get me wrong. I did enjoy it and I immediately picked up the second and third book, after the first... but it's becoming drawn out. It should either have been longer or it should have had a conclusion by now. There's not one happy moment in this series so far... it's actually rather depressing... and right now... I'm feeling down and out with negative emotions.

CLICK HERE TO READ MY FULL REVIEW AT READING, EATING AND DREAMING I WAS BLAIR WALDORF

* I received this story in exchange for an honest review *

THE ARRANGEMENT SERIES: "This story unfolds over the course of multiple short novels. Each one follows the continuing story of Avery Stanz and Sean Ferro."

WTF! FML! Seriously, Ms. Ward? You built me up to crash me down. You built me up and up and up and then you dropped me from a 10 story building. How are you able to run my emotions all over the place in such a short amount of time? I don't know, but man you're talented.

The Arrangement Volume Two was an AMAZING addition to this series. Honestly, I think I enjoyed Volume 2 even more than Volume 1, and I really enjoyed Volume 1 so that's saying a lot! The one thing that I was REALLY looking for in The Arrangment Volume 2 was HEAT, and I found it in spades. Avery and Sean will definitely fog up your eReader in the latest addition to The Arrangement.

Now that I've finished Volume 2, I feel the exact same way I felt when I finished Volume 1: I WANT MORE RIGHT THIS SECOND! This series is extremely fast paced and very addicting. Honestly, I don't know that I'll ever get enough of these characters.

I'm so glad that I got my fill of Avery and Sean this week. I can't wait to see what happens next with them. I can typically predict novels pretty well, but I have no freaking clue what's going to happen next in this series. Ms. Ward is keeping me on my toes :)

I gave The Arrangement Volume 2 by H.M. Ward 4 STARS. I strongly encourage readers to check out this series!

-XOXO

The story continues in the part 2 of Avery & Sean's story...

Ugh! this book is such a tease! it's killing me haha

We can tell that they are undeniably attracted to each other but something holds them back...

No one has ever looked at me like this - Avery Stanz

It's like his eyes could devour me whole. That carnal look makes my body grow warner. My heart slams into my ribs like it's trying to save itself, like it know Sean's bad for me - Avery Stanz

The way his eyes drink me in, the way his hands feel on my skin, and the way he teases makes me crazy - I've never reacted to a guy like this in my entire life. There was never any heat, not even a spark. That's what makes things with Sean all the more insane. From day one, I felt something from him. He walked into my life and filled a hole thay I didn't even know was there. It's too soon for that. A couple of kisses and smiles later, and I sound like I'm ready to marry the guy. What the hell is wrong with me? - Avery Stanz
(Yeah what's wrong with you? haha)

anyway, I think it was by fate or coinsidence that they met this way again, a warning for Avery that in Sean looks can be deceiving, they finally got what they both wanter (was distracted by Moss Black before) but we still don't know whats going on with his head and why he is avoiding New York and Avery after their encounter.

Looking forward to Book 3 :)

Leave me cliffhanger again...and Avery here..well, TSTL..I think !!!

Well, Avery, finally agreed to be Sean's whore....
A virgin whore.... my thinking is mostly like this....

You see , when a bad boy and a (virgin) whore (they called it "call girl"...well...yeeeah...I'm Mother Theresa!) ..this is what would exactly happen !

AND THIS

She can't complain when he said goodbye, he paid her for service after all

I don't deny this one is a good read..but..I hate it when the heroine so lack of confidence and weak ... even she chosen to paid for sex...have a dignity Avery! As a call girl, you really cannot fall for your client, right? That the choice of job you pick...so if you wanted to be a good whore...focus! *grin* Don't fall in love....just work ... treat him as "CLIENT" and NOT a BOYFRIEND!

This series-to-be started out really well. The dialogue was sharp and the chemistry between Sean and Avery was smoking. I find their early encounters adorable.

Then somewhere towards the end of the first novella, I can't figure out Avery anymore. Whereas in the earlier 70% she's a well-defined character, when Miss Black and her "job offer" comes into the picture with Sean in the mix, she just stopped making sense. This sends out mixed messages which continues to this second volume: she accepts payment to have sex with someone she claims to love (after a completely random snowball fight, by the way). I'm all for pushing the limits of contemporary romance but that doesn't sit well for me. Especially since its not even the source of Avery's conflict.

The premise has so much promise. I wish . It would have been predictable but I feel the smart dialogue could've carried this one despite the cliche.

Sweet Lord in Heaven the ending practically killed me, and this time it wasn't because of the cliffhanger. I liked this installment more then the first. I LOVE Sean's body!!! "Muscles rise and fall in perfection. Sean's body is Greek God material." Lord help us but when Avery gets pissed that girl gets pissed!
"Let me in my car." I hiss and drop my hands to my sides. He's blocking the door.
"What will you do if I say no?" His eyes sparkle, like he thinks this is funny.
I lean in close to his face. A twisted smile snakes across my lips as I speak, "I'll take your nuts off and then run you over with my car."
I REALLY can't wait to see what happens in the next installment!

I am so liking this series. This is part 2 of The Arrangement. Sean almost didn't get the opportunity to take Avery's V card, but he did. They are pretty much friends outside of the arrangement so when they come together and have sex, emotions arise and become stronger. We know that she feels the love for him, but do he feel it for her and it seems as though he is hiding something. I don't know. I am looking forward to the next installment and maybe we can see if Sean is hiding something. I think he is married, but that just my thinking. Great read.

This is the follow up to part one of The Arrangement.

Avery is broke. She is in school with not much longer to go but funds are disappearing fast. Her car barely works. Then her friend brings her to meet Miss Black. She runs a high class call girl service. Avery needs the money. She can’t say no. And when she realizes her first and maybe only client might be the mysterious Sean who came to her rescue not once but twice, she’s all in.

This story starts after Sean has rejected her. She gets him to recommit to Miss Black’s terms and then Miss Black herself throws in roadblocks.

This is an ongoing series and is only a few scenes of a bigger story. This does keep you guessing and always seems to end on a cliffhanger. Still intrigued.

I purchased this book with my own money.
