I absolutely loved this book! This series gets better and better! It's action packed from start to finish. Zin broke my heart, but Celeste's love showed him he's true self. I laughed and cried, but I had a smile on my face when I finished. Can't wait to read Roz! I highly recommend this book!

I couldn’t wait to read Zin and Celeste’s story and I wasn’t disappointed it was everything I hoped and more. With tensions running high from the threat from the Watchers and everyone on edge. Celeste and Zin kiss at the wedding doesn’t go as she hoped and is left hurt and confused so then makes a silly mistake that threatens her life. Can Zin save her. This is an action packed series that you won’t want to put down a must read series. I can’t wait to read Roz and Kanan’s story.

Broken Butterfly brings us the much awaited story of Zin aka The Viper. Lethal. Deadly. Tortured. And the woman who has captured his heart. His sweet Pixie, Celeste. In an adrenalin-filled story, it's a race against time as Zin and the Fortis Security team work to save Celeste from the clutches of the evil Divine Watchers.

I have to confess, I'm deeply invested in this series. After reading the previous four books, and now this one, I'm in love with the whole group at Fortis Security and how they operate as a team. Ms Wade does a particularly good job with team dynamics and relationships, how they support and strengthen each other. While I enjoy and love the individual heroes and heroines in the stories, it's really the whole team that brings me back to this series again and again.

I've seen the hype and love for Zin around the traps and how highly anticipated his book has been. I was certainly curious to see how Ms Wade would handle his character. Zin is a tough guy. He had a horrible and tragic childhood which has shaped him into the man he is today, one who values strength and deplores weakness. He is a man who will protect the weak when they are unable to take care of themselves. Poor Zin also has a very harsh view of himself. He doesn't see the good in him because of all the horrible things he's had to do in the line of duty. And he thinks he's unlovable and unforgivable for that. Then comes Celeste. Because beneath the tough exterior and tortured soul is a kind and caring man who loves true and deep.

I loved Celeste. When she was first introduced, I had wondered how she'd fit into the Fortis team because she was so shy and so cagey. Being around the tough, strong and confident people of Fortis was good for Celeste. It bolstered her self-esteem and it gave her an internal strength that becomes so necessary when she is faced with terrible adversity. Celeste is sweet, sexy and cute, and she brings a softness and love into Zin's life that's so necessary. Zin and Celeste work well together. She soothes his wounded soul and he gives her the necessary strength she needs.

I'd also like to point out that Ms Wade continues to improve from book to book. I remember reading her first book and thinking it had a lot of potential. The books are starting to live up to her potential. Ms Wade's attention to detail and storytelling has certainly improved in Broken Butterfly from the last book. Most of all though, I enjoyed how Ms Wade managed to make a desperate situation seem utterly romantic.

““Kiss me,” he commanded and despite the situation they were in he saw her eyes darken with desire. She lifted her head and moulded her mouth to his. It started gently but he deepened the kiss until she was moaning and leaning in to grip his shirt, he knew she would be wearing the bruise of his kiss for hours.”

I've enjoyed the revelations Ms Wade has included in this story and I look forward to the next one. I think Kanan's book is next and he's my personal favorite.

Broken Butterfly: A Fortis Security Novel by Maddie Wade is part of her A Fortis Security series. This is a suspense-mystery-thriller that left me sitting on the edge of my seat through most of the story. This is not my first story by this author, each installment I read of this series becomes better and better. This series can be read as a stand alone but I highly suggest that you read all of them. They take you on a journey of romance, suspense and mystery. I enjoy how this author can pull me into her story with ease and her story is easy flowing. This story takes place Internationally but it flows with ease as this author did a great job on her details. There are quite a few characters in this story, they are connectable and true to life. I enjoyed each one as they all have their own unique qualities. Zin is a character that has not had an easy go at life. He has made his way in life in the shadows and shedding blood of the evil. Then you have Celeste. She has a secret that she keeps hidden because it can hurt her if exposed. She has really only loved one man but when he rejects her, she is heartbroken. What will happen when she becomes the target of evil? She is in a fight or flight situation that there is no way out of. Will Zin prove to her that he is just broken and she is the key to putting him back together again? Is it possible that these two can put each other's hearts back together? These are two strong independent characters. There were a few times I wanted to yell at them, asking what were they thinking. They do manage to take us on an emotional roller coaster ride that in parts had me laughing and other parts just needing to see what they would do next. The secondary characters are just as strong and some have the same attitude. I enjoyed how the two most powerful people of this group is women. They take no nonsense from anyone but yet at times you can see the sensitive side too. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens this group as they take you on a thrilling journey of learning how fast life can change and how far you are willing to go to protect what is yours. Is there a happy ending to this group? You will have to read to find out.

Broken Butterfly is the fifth book in the Fortis Security Series by Maddie Wade. This can be read as a standalone, but I recommend that you read the other books first for a better appreciation of the story.
This is a romantic suspense- with drama, action, adventure, danger, thrills, intrigue, mystery, and their very survival at stake. I was hooked right from the beginning- I read it in one sitting.
Zin Maklovoi (The Viper) is a highly trained, lethal weapon. He had an extremely tough life and his past experiences have shaped him into the man he is today. He is a very endearing bad boy.
Again, The Divine Watchers come into play in this story. They have a sinister plan, and it involves Zin’s beautiful pixie, Celeste. Will he be able to keep her safe?
I loved Zin and Celeste, and I was really happy to get to know them better- they are really great characters. They were complex, fully developed and extremely endearing. Their chemistry sizzled off the pages and made for some red-hot reading.
The author held the tension, suspense and intrigue at an extremely high level throughout the book- as well as keeping me guessing most of the way through- she added twists and surprising development that I didn’t see coming, which ramped the excitement up a few notches.
I can’t wait to read more from her!

Thank you, Ms. Wade!

Ok, Broken Butterfly is book 5 in the Fortis Security Novels. I read book 4 and loved it, was a touch lost in that one so I really recommend reading them in order. I am enjoying the series a lot. So much action! I will say, there are a ton of people to keep track of. But it flows well, is fast paced, suspenseful, and interesting!

Something I liked about Celeste and Zin, is that they both had their insecurities and were real and relatable. It’s cute how he calls her his Pixie. I also liked that you could see other relationships growing throughout the story. The overall main story of who they have been fighting against progressed quite a bit but there is more to come. This is not the final book, but there is a happy for now ending in store for Celeste and Zin. I look forward to more books from this author and about all these characters, I want to know how it all ends!

Book 5 in the series and Maddie Wade’s imagination and love for her characters just keeps growing! This is Zin and Celeste’s story....Zin...quiet, private, uncertain, strong, protective.
Celeste...shy, loyal, beautiful, vulnerable.
They should be together, they need to be together but Zin won’t let himself walk that extra step and stand beside Celeste...then everything changes when Celeste is taken and is used in a diabolical way...Zin and the team are in a race against time to not only save Celeste but hundreds of innocents.

Fast paced, exciting, unpredictable,
everything you’d expect from a Fortis novel.
Another super read from Maddie Wade

Go on try it.....but start at the beginning, they get better and better!

I have been really enjoying this series, and each book seems to get better and better. I loved Zin and Celeste, and I am a bit of a sucker for the tortured hero who doesn't believe that he deserves the heroine's love. There was enough action/suspense/questions to keep me engaged, and I was on the edge of my seat. There was also some good progress in the underlying plot of the series as a whole, and I am really interested to see where this leads.

This author's writing has certainly improved since book 1. She does still overuse exclamation points (in my opinion, anyways), but certainly less errors than previous books.

I really enjoyed this and look forward to Roz and K's story! 4.5 stars!

Broken Butterflies is one of those books in a series where you effortlessly enjoy the presence of all the characters from previous book as well as the hero and heroine of the book.
Celeste and Zin have a sweet love story in which they helped each others insecurities through their love and courage.
Friendship and siblings loyalty, as well as, their love are a constant presence during the storyline. This makes the readers feel more in love with the characters. The epilogue is... "OHMyGod, please, give me the next book NOW!"

Awesome read! This author knows how to spin a tale. This story had my from the prologue. Zin didn't have lovey dovey parents. He and his sister had it really rough. But that upbringing made him the man he is. A good bad guy. The Divine Watchers are a different breed of bad bad bad. They've got a plan involving the only woman Zin has ever loved. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this book. I had to know what was going to happen next.

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade is the fifth book in her Fortis Security Series, and this series just keeps getting better and better. Butterfly follows the story of Zin and Celeste, who come from two completely different worlds but have found a connection that neither of them can deny. Celeste is a woman who has always felt out of place - quiet, shy, and unassuming - she somehow has a attracted the attention of the Divine Watchers, and they are out for blood. Celeste also has been dancing around in Zin's head, but he can't push himself to take the leap for a woman like Celeste. Zin has become 'the Viper" of Fortis Security, always doing the wrong thing but with the best of intentions. Their worlds collide when they least expect it, and the sparks that come from them were enough to melt my e-reader. But will the fire be enough to save both of them from the dangers that are coming for Celeste, or will they lose the battle to be together. I have reader several of Wade's books in the past, and have completely fallen in love with this series. I can't say it enough times how great it is. Her characters are well developed, the story line is not only believable but is incredibly well written and the steamy moments are so hot that you will be fanning yourself. I can't wait to see where Wade takes this series in the future. I do recommend reading this series in order, as the stories do overlap and characters make appearances throughout the series from book 1.

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade is the fifth book in her mind-blowing Fortis Security series! For some reason I ended up reading the fifth book first and I am telling you all, do not make the mistake I did! START WITH THE FIRST ONE! Once I was done with Broken Butterfly, I was so hooked on the story and the Fortis ‘family’ so I went and read the first 4 books!
Broken Butterfly is the story of Zin “The Viper” Maklavoi and Celeste “Pixie” Bourdain. The prologue killed me … the way the writer sets the scene … the way she sucks us into the emotional landscape … the way she builds our expectations … and we are ONLY at the prologue! I loved Zin, this on the surface hard and cruel man who has lived his life in the world of subterfuge and espionage, meting out justice for the ones who could not protect themselves … he believes he is lost to the world of shadows and he is so broken that there is no way to fix him … And then we have Celeste with an incredible gift that has burdened her life and brought her nothing but pain … the little Pixie that makes Zin to wish for a different life …
The writer has created this amazing world that is so intricate and mesmerizing that you simply cannot look away and you cry and you pray for the best and you laugh and you feel as if you are living it all along the Fortis family and …Pick up the first book and ‘live’ through all of five to find out if the Viper and the Pixie will save each other!

Broken Butterfly is book 5 in the Fortis Security series. This is the first book I’ve read in the Fortis series so I am glad that it was easy to follow and fairly standalone. There are characters mentioned that I am sure I would have more of a connection with if I read the first four books, but you can pick up the basics as you go along. Broken Butterfly was a great read, so I will be going back to read the other ones to catch myself up.

I enjoyed how the author wrote the characters in such a way that their abilities don’t overshadow the story and make it over-the-top. You really get to know the character as opposed to focusing on what they can do.

Zin has had a rough life. He never cared about anything he did until he met her, his Pixie. She has shone the light on all of the darkness inside of him. It both scares him and draws him to her. But he knows that it will never work. He would taint her innocence, and he can’t bear to be that guy.

Celeste has always felt alone because of her gift. She longs for a connection, to belong. She thinks she has a chance with the man she loves, but her attempt and bringing him into her life falls flat with his rejection. She knows it is time to move on, but she can’t seem to let go of him in her mind.

When Zin’s past comes into his present, he sets out to take care of the man who harmed his sister, but there is so much more to it. Celeste is now in danger and his darkness may be the only thing that can save her.

Broken Butterfly: A Fortis Security Novel by Maddie Wade

5 Stars

This is my 2nd book in this series and I absolutely have to go back and read this series from the beginning. I have missed so much of this ongoing storyline and although Im able to follow the current story well enough there is so much with this group of people I have missed and I must know it all!! I will read them all before I even attempt to read the next story.

I fell in love with Zin in the book before and I couldn't wait for this story and it was AMAZING!! Him and Celeste were a knockout couple and with her being in so much danger and choosing to accept what was to come in order to save others he had his work cut out for him.

This whole group of people has drawn me in and this series could go on forever and I will continue to read it. This author has a way with words that keeps you totally rapt throughout the entire book. The way she throws in these twists and turns are brilliant and the playful banter between them all is perfectly placed even when the situation is so serious. There is a story going on and I'm thinking it started at the beginning regarding the divine watchers and it is still not over, the danger is still there.

I can not wait to read Kanan and Roz’s story! This is an awesome series and I highly recommend it, I can just tell it will be a favorite that I will reread in the future!

Broken Butterfly- Maddie Wade

4-star review

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade is the fifth book in her Fortis Security series, this is the first book that I have read in the series. There is an incredible amount of detail which made it easier to piece everything together from starting with this book first. While it definitely could be read as a standalone I would suggest reading them in the right order to have the whole picture and to enhance your reading experience.

This book was incredibly intense, emotional and full of suspense. There was never a dull moment with something always going on. The easy banter between the large group of characters made it a really engaging read. Book five follows Zin and Celeste. My feelings for Zin really changed as the story went on, he was hard, cold and rude in the beginning but as he got closer to Celeste he started to open up, showing his much softer side. Celeste was a great character as she was so brave and strong, managing to stay calm in the most hectic of times which was inspiring.

There are many supporting characters in this story which I loved, while it was confusing at first it ended up being one of my favorite parts of this book. I loved being able to read snippets of information on all of the characters, it really gave me a strong desire to read the rest of the series! I look forward to reading Maddie's work in the future.

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade is part of her Fortis Security series. As the fifth book in the series this can be read as a stand-alone although I would recommend reading them all in order to get the full series development.

This book follows the story of Zin and Celeste. Zin is a very closed off person. He is drawn to Celeste but refuses to let her get too close. As a direct result of the barriers he has in place he pushes her away.
Celeste is used to hiding. Shielding her gift from everyone she doesn’t know who to trust. This is made even worse when the only person she has ever felt close to pushes her away.
When the situation forces them together it becomes clear that they need to decide what is more important - keeping their secrets and distance or keeping each other.

I very much enjoyed reading this book. Even though it is book 5 in the series I didn’t ever feel like I was missing anything, though I can see the benefit to reading the previous books first.
I enjoyed seeing these two characters together. They were clearly well written and matched perfectly. The writing style kept me engaged throughout the story and kept me wanting to know what was happening. A very good introduction not only to this series but to this author.

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade is the fifth book to this series. I haven't read the other four books and jumped straight into this one. I didn't feel like I didn't understand the book from not reading the first four but I am going to go out and read them as I feel I may have more connection to the relationships of the characters. That and I really enjoyed this book so want to read the others! The writing style is descriptive and easy to follow. The author brings you into the story like you are there with them and want to support them through the journey.

Zin is a very closed off person who doesn't want to or really know anymore how to let someone close. He is very protective of himself emotionally and physically and keeps his distance from people as he hasn't had the best of times. However, Zin all of a sudden finds himself drawn to Celeste a lot more than he is comfortable will, but with all the barriers he has out in place can he learn to let them down to build a relationship with her? There is more to Celeste than meets the eye, she also shields herself away to protect herself from what she knows!

I would highly recommend this book!

Broken Butterfly
By Maddie Wade

Missed out on so much of the storyline by starting at book five of the series. I really need to go back to the beginning to see what I missed lol. So, do yourself a favour and start at the beginning. The character building of the characters in this book makes them seem so real, and for that you can understand they flaws they have just like people of the real world. While I got the gist of this story I did get lost in places, but that was at no fault to Maddie, starting with book five will do that to you. Nothing was over the top with this story which made it easy to get to know the characters. So, this book centres around Celeste and Zin. Both from totally different worlds yet they had a connection that is undeniable. Like any other love story when two unexpected worlds collide something always happens, whether it be good or bad or a combination of both. Zen and Celeste’s love will be tested, probably more than once. Question is, is their love strong enough to survive with but lays in front of them. This is a well written book and I now need to go back to the beginning to see what I have missed. I hope you enjoy this book as I have.

Broken Butterfly
By Maddie Wade
5 stars

This is the second book that I have read by this author and from this series and I was not disappointed at all. It was just as amazing as the first book that I read. It didn’t take me long to find myself wrapped up in this book and the story of Zin and Celeste. I loved the connection that these two characters had; I desperately wanted them to be together. I loved the mystery and suspense in this story and that I didn’t know what was going to happen. I really felt like I was in this adrenaline filled story right along with the characters. I really liked Zin and Celeste, after everything that Zin went through in his past Celeste is exactly what he needs, even if he doesn’t quite realise it. Celeste was a really strong character, although shy at first she really did an inner strength that shone through at times.
I love how invested the characters are in these books, they clearly mean a lot to each other. I am really impressed with the author’s character development and this seems to carry over into the different stories in the series.
A really great series – I am definitely looking forward to more!!

❤Honor, Sacrifice and Love❤

Celeste has always felt out of place, never truly excepted. With her gift she has to keep distance between herself and others or it becomes to much to handle. Somewhere along the way she fell in love with Zin, right at a time she could lose everything.

She's been targeted by the Divine Watchers to become a sacrifice in their evil schemes of world dominance. They are threatening people that she cares greatly for, how can she just can't save herself and let them perish.

Zin is that good guy who does bad stuff for all the right reasons. He feels that he's tainted and not good enough for Celeste but he's so far gone now and too selfish to let go. He will not lose his Pixie now.

Absolutely loved it. From beginning to end the story was so well-written you don't want to put it down. Maddie did a phenomenal job in constructing the story and bringing to life the love between Zin and Celeste.

I highly recommend reading the series in order to get the full effect. Happy READING!

I give 4 stars to Broken Butterfly (A Fortis Security Novel Book 5) written by Maddie Wade.

I need to start this review off with why Im give four and not five stars, it is no reflection on the author it is only due to myself coming in on this book and having no idea what was going on so I highly recommend you do not read this as a standalone but go from the beginning at book 1.

Otherwise this story is a great special forces read which I do enjoy. And very well written.

Zin (The Viper) Maklavoi, is a man who has lived in the dark, stuck in his own shadows. He is the very definition of a alpha male.

Celeste Bourdain is a woman who knows how to keep her secret hidden from the world and not to trust easily as there are people who want to exploit her. After learning the only man she has ever loved has rejected her she embarks on embracing her life. That is until everything takes a massive turn for the worse. With her life on danger and her time running out can Zin get to her in time and turn his darkness to light?

With a story with the title being “Broken Butterfly”, I was not sure where Maddie Wade was going to go with this title. Well hang on to your shorts the title is an awesome story. This is book is apart to Wade’s Fortis Security Series. I have to say that I am in love with this series. Wade takes the reader through a web of ups and downs. She takes romance, mystery, thriller, and suspense. Zin, a broken man is ready to have the right person to assist him with this great feat. He has been an evil man who has downright scary. Celeste is a “butterfly” who is trying to keep a secret. She only has had one love interest. She is heartbroken because she was rejected. She does not realize that it was for her own good. Zin and Celeste will take you on a ride because of their feelings and situations that keep arising around them. I am going to warn you if you do not talk to yourself at times, you are going to be yelling at the book. You want to warn Zin and Celeste on what is coming ahead. I would also advise leaving enough time to read this all in one sitting.

Broken Butterfly: A Fortis Security Novel
By Maddie Wade
4 Stars

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade is the fifth installment of A Fortis Security series. Although part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone. This is my first read by this author and I will be going back to the beginning of the series to read the first 4 books. Each book is written about each of the Fortis Security members. This book is filled with suspense, mystery and crime mixed in with romance. This is is the story of Zin and Celeste. Zin has a had rough life and doesn’t have a care in the world, until Celeste comes along. He wants to get to close but he pushes her away because Zin his scared. He doesn’t want to hurt Celeste as he hasn’t had the best life and wouldn’t be able to offer much of himself. Celeste has a secret that can put her into possible danger. Is the love they have for each other strong enough to survive the danger that is coming for them? This story had me at the edge of my seat, it was hard to put my Kindle down and go to bed.

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade
Stars:4
This story focuses on Zin and Celeste. I really liked these two characters. Zin lives Celeste, but doesn’t feel worthy of her, but is unable to let her go. I felt that the prologue at the beginning helped to understand some of his decisions. Celeste is a spit fire that is willing to give up everything for those she loves. She is sweet, but doesn’t let people run over her. Both characters are incredibly strong people, and are very likable characters. I loved reading their story! I also loved that Maddie Wade wrote the story from both characters’ perspective. I felt that she was able to quickly pull me into the story and kept m hooked throughout the story. I enjoyed reading this story! I also felt connect to Celeste’s brother and Zin’s sister. I cannot wait to see what Maddie has in store for them!
I feel that this could be read as a standalone, but the reader may miss out on some of the back information so you may want to read the previous books first.

Each of these characters feel broken and that they have nothing to offer in a relationship, their lives are being messed with by this wacky group who thinks it's ok to that. The over all plot is complex and intriguing, definitely has you hating the leaders for ruining so many lives like they think is their right to do. There is action and suspense but there is also love, honour and support in spades. As friends and colleagues over several groups come together to try and take down the bad guys with as little loss as possible and to rescue those taken. It is emotional and full of tension and excitement, a roller coaster of highs and lows and violence when needed. Fantastic story and series with an on going main plot and individual couples stories within, although the whole team is involved throughout. The author has me spellbound and hooked deep I just want to keep reading, she has my heart aching for all the good guys and in love with all the male hotness, on the edge of my seat at the action and sobbing when someone gets hurt. Such a ride!

Broken Butterfly is the fifth book in the series A Fortis Security Novel by Maddie Wade and once again this book is a great read. I have been in love with this series since book one and have not looked back since I found Maddie as a wonderful writer. This series and this book have it all, and I am in love with the Fortis men and women and their partners. I would encourage you to start with book one and work your way through so you get to know and love these wonderful characters and become invested in their lives. Each book is about each team member and the love of their life and the terror and torture they face as the fight to keep everyone they love safe from the evil grips of the Divine Watchers.

Maddie continues to get better and better with each book and her attention to detail and ability for storytelling has certainly made Broken Butterfly the best so far. I can’t wait to read the next installment!

I really like this series. None of the books so far has blown my mind but they are good and I am invested. I like the characters and the writing, and the smut, the relationships among the different members of the wider group, the suspense and action scenes, badass Zenobi! I am getting so familiar with the Fortis guys and gals -they are like my fictional friends now- and I will continue reading this series until I finish it. I was intrigued by Zin right from book one and oh dear Maddie, thank you. Both Zin and Celeste are so interesting characters, strong in a different way and craving for acceptance, connection and inner peace (and to be loved, of course) and they find that in each other in their book which is bittersweet and so SO good, yes!!

I would like to see more of them and their skills in the future and I am anticipating more about the siblings' past in the next book.

Broken Butterfly by Maddie Wade started out incredibly strong, I loved getting a glimpse into Zin’s past and events that had formed him. As the story progressed the plot remained strong and exciting, I found myself a bit confused with the amount of characters in the storyline though. I don’t consider this a reflection on Maddie Wade’s writing however, Broken Butterfly is a Fortris Security book (5) and that’s a consequence of reading the series out of order.
Overall I did enjoy this book, both Celeste and Zin are well developed characters and I loved the suspense and action that their story packed. I would be interested in starting the Fortris books from the very beginning to experience the full character development leading up to this perspective, but I would certainly suggest giving this series a try if you enjoy action packed novels.

Broken Butterfly is the fifth installment in the Fortis Series and from book one, I've been in love! Maddie Wade has a way of creating real, lovable and realistic characters, and she does it again with Zin and Celeste. I particularly like the path of Zin, Viper, who despite threading darkness for most of his life, had retained a light in him. It was dim, but his honor, the core of his heart and soul remains, and later on finally opens when he acknowledges his feelings for Celeste and comes to terms with who he really is.
All the members of Fortis are there and it's a pleasure to see the way they interact with each other, and how they evolve in the story. The pace is thrilling and once more, I can't way for the next installment. An amazing romantic suspense with heart that you don't want to miss!!!
