A secluded cabin...a sexy mountain man hero who's retreated from his former life...a pretty heroine who gets lost during a snowstorm...stranded in his mountain cabin to wait out the storm together....this is my guilty reading pleasure! This one had so much potential....but it lost me amidst the endless, technically descriptive sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, the first couple encounters were pretty hot, but I need the characters to connect on more than just the physical. I felt that I didn't know enough about them...or maybe I should say I knew more about them than they knew about each other! I'm not sure if they even had a full conversation with each other that didn't revolve around sex. I certainly felt the lust (and they were plenty lusty!), and the obsession with each other, but sadly, didn't feel the love. Sigh...When I start to skim sex scenes, that's not a good sign.
Oh well, 3 1/2 stars for what could've been..

Not the best writing and the plot was perfectly tropey in every way but I didn't hate this. The surprising bit is that I didn't really feel a believable connection (other than good old-fashioned L-U-S-T) between Heather and Shane until they were separated from one another for the year after their time in the cabin. All in all, I didn't hate this so I'll look out for more by Kelli Callihan when I'm in the mood for something quick and sexy.

I judged this book by it's cover! ! yes I did
I thought it's another book about a horny lumberjack (he is not a lumberjack but he is horny! )

Everything seemed to be crashing down on Heather. Her GPS wasn’t working, her gas tank was empty, her phone battery was dying, a snowstorm was coming down fast and she was lost in the Appalachian Mountains. So what’s a girl to do, wrap her clothes around her and open a bottle of wine and wait for tomorrow. Lucky for her, Shane heard on the radio about a girl that was missing. He decided that he must go and rescue her. When he found her, she was half frozen so her took her back to his warm cabin. Their attraction was immediate and after a while she was no longer a virgin. He’s been along for six years recovering from demons and a messy divorce, But there’s something about her that makes him not want to be alone again. No spoiler here, but this is a great book that pulls you in at the beginning and keeps your attention. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

He basically says he's gonna take her by force if she doesn't give him what he wants for saving her and then proceeds to give her a completely unneeded full body search for frostbite. No way her vagina was frostbitten

The wonderful trip to the Appalachian Mountains was not turning out so well. There was a steady fall of snow and ice on the deserted road and nothing coming in on the radio to keep Heather company as she drove. Having forgotten her phone charger, her cell phone was dying, and even the GPS couldn’t get a signal. Now she was low on gas as well. Somewhere she had made a wrong turn and could not seem to find her way back.
Heather stopped the car, deciding to wait for morning and look for help. The car ran out of gas, so she unpacked her clothes and put them around her. She had a bottle of wine and drank some of that after she pushed the cork into the bottle with a pen. After some time, she fell asleep, praying that she would wake up in the morning.
Shane had gone into the little town to stock up for the storm. His cabin was warm, his generator had plenty of fuel, and his truck had chains on the tires. He headed for bed and hsad put the radio on for background noise when he heard of a blonde girl who was missing. He realized he may have passed her car earlier and had seen a young blonde turn down a deserted section of road. He got dressed and went out just to be sure she wasn’t stranded and about to freeze to death.
Shane found the half-frozen young woman. He wanted to protect her and keep her safe. By the time the storm was over, he knew that he cared and he would have to face being alone again. Could he let her go? Could he convince her that their time together wasn’t just a meaningless fling? Or could the two of them make a life together?

Great romance by a new author. This novella was steamy and sweet with a great happy ending.
Heather, a 19 year old headed to meet some girlfriends for a weekend at a cabin, ends up having way more of an adventure than she'd planned on. Stuck and stranded in a blizzard, she runs out of fuel and starts making her peace with her life ending on a deserted mountain road.
Shane has lived up the same mountain for the past 6 years. He's recovering from a messy divorce and trying to outrun the skeletons in his closet. He's perfectly happy with his quiet life of solitude, but when he hears the emergency call out to look for the lost girl Heather, he knows he has to go see if he can help her.
When he finds the blonde beauty, he's immediately drawn to her and it's not just because he's been alone for so long. He's excited to get to know her better, protect her and make her his. Worried at first about going anywhere with a stranger Heather is hesitant but realizes she has no other options. After notifying the authorities that she was safe they decide to make the most of the situation. Ms Callahan is a new author to me. Shane has escaped to the mountains and is living an isolated life. Heather is off to a weekend cabin party; she gets lost, runs out of gas & is getting close to freezing when Shane rescues her & takes her back to his cabin. There’s a bit of personal preference here, but I felt the amount of sex detracted from the reader getting to know the characters better, and the characters getting to know each other better. The story takes a turn when Heather is rescued and Shane has to face his past, and the couple go their separate ways over the next year before they reunite.
This book is for you if you like a storyline with a lot of sex and aren’t too worried about the characters’ relationship outside of the bedroom. I felt that Shane’s character grew when he assertively resolved his historical issues but that Heather simply pined for the man who had taken her virginity. I would have loved to see them have more time nonsexual time together, but as I said earlier, that’s preference. Well-written, quick read.

A fast paced steamy, hot, amazing read by Kelli Callahan about a man, Shane, who escaped to the mountains after a messy divorce and the blond goddess he rescues one night during a snow storm.
What a story with instant attraction, melting hot steamy scenes but also a story that spans over a couple of years and moved along perfectly. No extra drama with his ex trying to come between them or anyone from her side trying to keep them apart. I loved the fact that he let her go and she finished what she needed before moving on with her life with him. I also loved that he wasn't a man wh***, there was no cheating even when apart and the sparks between them flew of the pages.
A perfect read when you need a break and smile put on your face and the ending...perfect just like the rest of the story in my opinion.

Lord what a man, he loves hard and long.
This was a smutty fast paced read with wonderful love senses.
His wife cheated on him, and he hit that man and was not going to let that ruin his life, so he packed his thing and left town.
She going to meet friends and gets lost, and a snow storm traps her in her car, she may die if she doesn't get help.
A news alert goes out and he knows that he seen her car, he doesn't want to go look for her but he just couldn't just leave her out there to die.
There is chemistry between these two and they will give into their desire.
He is a lot older then her and she is still in college, will their feelings be enough to bring and keep these two together? Not going to tell, because you need to read this great story to find out.

This book was steamy. You've got this steamy alpha male who admits at first that he didn't want anything lasting, but then he becomes determined in the end to win her over. Heather definitely played her part and I was happy to see that she had a level head even if I would have turned around sooner, lol. Cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next!

This is a great older man younger woman story. It was a story in itself a young college woman gets lost in a snowstorm on her way to a mountain cabin to party with friends during a winter break. There was a new story about her being missing and she was found by a man hiding from his past. They hid out in his cabin to wait out the storm like any man and woman would but of course he didn't know that he was going to be getting a virgin he just thought she was his blonde goddess. Once the storm broke and they went back into town their story broke through all the news media which led to his arrest. But their love kept them coming back to each other after his past was dealt with quickly. This is a story that you don't want to miss.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...
This is a first time author for me. I really enjoyed the story even though I wanted to whack both of them upside the head a few times....The plot was interesting and somewhat believable. The characters could have used a little more development; however, they were easily relatable to me. I can't believe the time delay of getting back together with each other....what a waste of time. Life is too short! Overall a good read and I would definitely read Kelli Callahan again.

Way to warm up
What a way to spend a snow storm. This story by Ms. Callahan was better. Had a few moments that had me thinking.... unbelievable! Her rescuer thinks because he saved her, she owes him in bed. The first few chapters showed promise, but by the fourth it was loosing it's glow. I'm glad I stuck it out because the author redeems herself by irioning out the tacky parts and turns things around to get a decent story. Yes there is a lot of steamy intimacy scenes, proofreading had a few glitches, no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ending.

I'm not even sure this deserved 3 stars...I'm being nice.
What can I say. Thank goodness this was short cause it was the only thing it had going for it. It mercifully finally came to an end. Go into this one knowing exactly what you are getting folks, a quick read. I'm surprised my eyes didnt get stuck after the number of times I rolled them. Hard. The plot was not flushed out and my middle school students write with more details. I just didnt feel much for either character. Oh well.

Oh man...what an absolutely marvelous read! Everything about this read is simply amazing. The storyline grabs you from page 1 and keeps you flipping those pages; the characters are delightful--Shane and Heather are perfect together; the twists and turns in the story are perfect; and the HEA? So romantic! Oh one more thing--the SEX is scorching hot...🔥🔥 (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and loved it!) ❤️

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. I would rate Mr. Mountain a 3.75. While I appreciate the insta-lust, I also liked that at the end, they didn't rush to the HEA. The characters are good and the plot is too. Heather's dad is pretty awesome. While everything happened quickly, I still felt like there was a lag in the storytelling and I found myself skimming.

Really hot and well written story. The attraction between the two characters is strong and well describ, but, at first, I was asking myself if it was attraction or Stockholm syndrom.
So I liked it but I was a little bit disappointed too. The story seems to be rough, but finally it's more sweet than it seemed.

Judging by the title, this should have been unreadable. And I had very low expectations (actually not even sure why I picked it up to begin with). But it was surprisingly readable. The MC was a twit, but the alpha mountain man trained it right out of her...it worked :) I liked him, otherwise I probably would have had to DNF this.

Rescue the girl and fall in love. This is almost an insta-love story but there is a gap between the two meeting and falling into bed, and actually becoming a couple. Not quite sugary but definitely a sweet love story.

Loved this story. Heather gets lost in the mountains during a storm and Shane comes to her rescue. So much love and passion and not much drama. Loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I so love this book, Shane is strong, protected, so so manly, and Heather is so perfect for him, and is strong woman, and smart, I like that and very Hot and steamy and the sex wow a must read
