Life with a baby is interesting, a life that is never boring. But I’m also aware that there is a special date coming closer really quickly. The one year anniversary of Logan’s death. And no matter how much I try to stay strong, it scares me. Because there is still so much pain, even if I don't want to keep reminding ourselves of it.
Sterling
No matter how much I try, the dates on the calendar keep reminding me that the first anniversary of Logan’s death is coming closer quickly. While the loss of losing my mate is still painful, there is also something else going through my head, without Wilder I wouldn’t have had a second chance at happiness, at life.
This is the eighth and final novella about Alpha Wilder and Omega Sterling in Second Chance Mates, which takes place in the non-shifter Omegaverse Mates World and contains mpreg (male-pregnancy). This novella may include any of these steamy scenes, ‘I need tissues NOW’ moments, cries of ‘why, oh, why’ and cliffhangers that make you bite your nails (and curse the author).
As the sun set in the West, the light grow dim, but the love blazes in memories past and future desired to expand the special family as new opportunities seek their magic to produce more heir and more perfect family options. What more could an Alpha and Omega want to share in the heat of the moment.
Overall favorable rating for series. Liked both MCs. Enjoyed alternate take on mates. But too many other stereotypical tropes for a higher rating. The story could’ve been told in fewer pages / books. And oddly, even though the story was long, there was still a lack of clarity sometimes.
The final book in the series, and it was lovely to read. I love that things have come full circle in a way, it's been a full year since Logan's death, and Wilder and Sterling are still healing but have come a long way, and they've done it together. Very sweet series, recommended for mpreg lovers!
The FINALE…wow, it’s been a ride going through these 8 novellas. This serial series really rocked my world at first. The first couple of books were as addicting as potato chips. Somewhere towards the middle of the series things started going downhill. These stories are incredibly repetitive which made me lose interest almost immediately.
This was my first trip through a non-shifter/omega verse world. And I really liked that these characters still had these alpha/omega/beta personalities without the shifting. That was interesting. And this author does a good job at grabbing your attention in the first couple of books.
Our Second Chance Life shows Sterling and Wilder truly settled with their daughter and newborn son. Both men know that living with the grief of Logan’s death is something that will never go away.
Sterling and Wilder were good together. They both loved Logan so loving each other comes easy for them.
I’m giving an extra heart because this is the end and I was invested in these characters.
Overall, it was ok…if you like mpreg, non-shifter worlds, and angst…then you’d like this serial…

This is the eighth book in The Second Chance Mates Series. A wonderful book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. The characters were well developed and thought out. Wilder and Sterling are the MC’s of this book and mates. There was humor, family, mates, friends, a family trip, a hotel and so much more in this book. This was written fantastically to finish this series and I loved the hotel trip. You might want some tissues as well it was good.
Here is a quote from the book, “You—“ He shakes his head, giving me a hard look as he takes a deep breath. “You don’t get to but me presents like this.” “Why not?” “Because…” He colours a little. “Because I don’t know how to respond to them.” Fair enough. “Make me something and enjoy doing it. That’s all I ask. I bought it because I know you want it and you wouldn’t buy it for yourself.”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can recommend as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
When I read the first segment, I didn't know this was a segmented book, much less one of 8 parts. But Ms. Swann was good to us - we only had to wait 2-3 weeks between parts so the story could stay in our heads. I still reread a few times just so I could remember the little details as well as the overall story.
This final chapter was so comfortable to read. Sterling and Wilder are settling into married life and the sharing of their lives and the kids. As it is still during the first year since their first Alpha has died, Ms. Swann gently handled how some of those "anniversaries" can be very overwhelming during that first year. And the final few chapters, two years later, were such a joy to read, as they really stepped out into their Second Chance at LOVE. I am definitely looking forward to the spinoff series to come.
I loved this series, of and I have already started the Making a Family Series that intertwined with this one. I do love series that intertwined with others keeping up with our favorite characters. Wilder and Sterling have made it through the first anniversary of Logan's death and 3 years together. They have planned a special vacation to work on trying for another baby.
This story was an incredible end to the series. I love how Wild made Logan's birthday special with a surprise trip and time to remember him by saying their favorite memory. The love between everyone is obvious and although they have some rough times, they make it through together. I am sad to see this series end but look forward to future series'.
Sad to see this series end but what a wonderful ending! I have loved this entire series and watching the relationship of Wilder and Sterling grow throughout the books. They have grown into a wonderful family unit with their children and I will miss them! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I loved the ending. It was so sweet how Wilder and Sterling and the children grew as a family as the years went on. I loved the ending. I loved the romance. This was short and sweet. I received this as a free ARC.
I read the other books very quickly this one took me a very long time to finish. I don't remember the beginning very well besides that it was okay nothing to exciting or spectacular. Probaly wouldn't reread.
This was a nice ending to the story, all was tied up and Sterling and Wilder were still great. It was short, fast-paced and sweet. I would recommend this story.
well this is the end... and wow was it an end.. i didnt want it to end but it was an amazing way to end.. i loved this so much and im glad i got to review this series. it was wonderful :D
Our Second Chance Life is the final installment in the Second Chance Mates serial. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. It definitely changed my opinion about serials which i'd sort off avoided in the past. I got totally hooked on Sterling and Wilder's story. There have been tears, oh so many tears. Even in this book the pain of Logan's death still so raw for the family. There have been joy, there been laughs and of course adorable children - first little Maddy, then baby Des and if their romantic getaway in the epilogue goes to plan perhaps more.
So pleased they got their HEA as Sterling and Wilder totally deserved it.
I see that Rosa Swann has new mpreg serial coming out soon. I'm totally going to be reading that one as well.
