I blame the male cover model of book 6 for me starting this book! Whoever you are you owe me some money!!! 😂

So this starts with the H going back to him hometown after his team won the Stanley Cup. He's ready to settle down and thinks about the only girl he's ever loved Becca.
Becca is a nurse, she broke up with the H due to her own insecurities about groupies and such. They've seen each other over the years but she usually hides from him, but Becca sees how time is passing her by so she decides to seek him out this time to see if there's any chance they can rekindle their romance

I'm not a fan of second chance romances mainly because the reasons for the breakup are usually dumb, in this case the reason they got back together was also dumb as hell. They both slept with OP during the separation but now they're claiming to still love each other. It's like I'm still single, you're still single let's get together!🤦

I continued reading until they actually got together and it degenerated to "baby" this and "baby" that, the writing style already wasn't working for me so I'm quitting here, life's just too short for this.

At least some of the covers are really nice..........

If you are looking for a saccharine-sweet second chance romance, then Just Say Yes is worth the read. Pro hockey player Scott is back home in Alaska for the summer after his team wins the Stanley Cup. When he runs into his teenage sweetheart, Becca, whom he's never gotten over Scott becomes determined to win her back. As it turns out, Becca has never stopped loving him, either, and regrets that she ended things at all in the first place.

Just Say Yes is a fluffy story -- there's not really any drama, and no angst as far as Scott and Becca reuniting. The story is more about whether or not they can make their relationship work long-distance, and I easily read it in a single day (in between work and parenting duties). I found some of the dialog rather unnatural, and there were a lot of unnecessary minute details (like "I got a glass of water. I sat back down.") that I felt added more to the word count of the novel than the actual plot of the story. But rating the book on the story alone, I'd still give it a 4. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This is my first read of this author and although that can be exciting, I also never am quite sure what to expect. I received this one as I wanted to review a later book in this series and thought I should read them in order. I finished it but I don't think is was great by any means.

It did have a fair bit of hockey in it so that is a plus. This is a second chance romance. Scott and Becca dated for several years until he went into the NHL. Becca reasoned she couldn't compete with the puck bunnies. 8 years later, Scott decides to win her back. And that is about it. They meet up. They go on a date and then they are together. That's it.

The book jumps around over the course of a year or so. We are told many times that "weeks have passed" or "Months have passed". Not a whole lot of action. Some s3xy times but I wasn't feeling any real romance.

Just a meh read for me. I will read one more just to say I gave it a shot. Hopefully the writing improves and keeps my interest more than this one did.

The author is looking for an honest review.

3 stars

If you are looking for a feel good book and no drama. This book is for you. It's about second chances, but more than that it is about teaching yourself that love is worth the wait. Sometimes it is the timing and for Scott and Becca, that was what it was. They had been friends forever, dated for six years, but life got complicated. Becca knew Scott would be great in the nhl, but couldn't handle everything that came with it. They broke it off and years later they still can't move on. The shlove was always there, they just couldn't find a way around what their lives were becoming. Time changes everything.

Scott is a great guy in this. He is not a player, he is just this ordinary famous hockey player that wants one thing now, Becca. He comes back into town to show the cup off and runs into her. They decide to meet up and spend some time together. Becca has always loved Scott but didn't know if she could handle his life. When he comes back this time she knows he can't live without him. Both characters are overly sweet and passionate about each other. The book flows well and the story line is good. I just wished there would have been a little bit of drama in it.

This is my first time reading this author and I have to say I did enjoy the book. This is a book you can get through in few hours and feel good after you read the book.

I had mixed feelings on this book. I liked the characters to a fair degree, but couldn't help bring disappointed at the lack of any drama, tension, suspense or even particularly saucy sex scenes. The whole book was quite high level, a lack of real depth to any of the characters made them seem somewhat uninspiring. Combine this with 6 instances of incorrect terminology and spelling mistakes drew me away from the positives.

Overall, an easy but rather vapid read.

The blurb makes the heroine sounds pathetic. Really?? Break up with someone you (say) LOVE because he’s going to become “someone big” in the sports category?? Why do people have to feel inferior to others?? I can’t stand the woe is me attitude.

** ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

Warm hearted second chance romances can sometimes be a welcomed relief after reading more darker novels. The blurb to Just Say Yes by Samantha Lind lead me to believe, that after a succession of those darker romance novels I had finally found something light and fluffy to read.

A choice was made eight years prior by Becca Phillips to allow the only boy she has ever loved chase his dream of playing professional NHL. A split decision saw her make a choice that she believed was in the best interest of them both. Trust was never the issue for Becca, only her own insecurities and the thought of making their relationship work long distance. Over time that split decision became a regret and her heart continued to beat solely for the boy she let slip away.

Scott Taylor has it all, a career most could only dream of and the support of his family and friends.

The only thing missing from his life was the girl he left behind. The one he has never stopped loving, who broke his heart when she decided for the both of them that he would be better off without her. This summer when he returns home to visit his family he plans to win her back, he won’t allow her to avoid him anymore.

Just Say Yes is a beautifully sweet story of two people fighting for what they truly want. It highlights the extent that some people will go, to grasp hold of the things in life that they treasure the most.

The journey Scott and Becca, along with the introduction of the secondary characters embark on to overcome the obstacles that stand in their way was heart-warming and made for a pleasurable read.

Just Say Yes by Samantha Lind is a second chance at romance story and the first book in her Indianapolis Eagles series. This is my first book by the author and I truly enjoyed it. It was so sweet and charming with two very likable characters!

Becca Phillips broke up with the love of her life when he was drafted to play for the Eagles. She loved him, but for reasons she later regretted, she let him go. Years later she still longs for Scott, but has avoided him for years whenever he comes home. Eight years ago she was insecure, but now she is stronger and older.

Scott Taylor was brokenhearted when Becca broke up with him. He loved her and could not understand why. Years later, he still loves her. Back home to celebrate winning the championship, this time around he is determined to get her back in his life. I loved Scott! He was so sweet and caring. It was refreshing to see!

Though Scott and Becca have been separated for years, it was so sweet watching them reconnect again. But some of the reasons she let him go are still there. Can they find a way through them or is it really too late?

This story was so sweet, romantic and charming. I had a smile on my face for most of the story! I always love it when I find new authors to read! I truly enjoyed Just Say Yes and am already looking forward to the next book in this series.

Steamy. Sweet. Fun. Light. Lind delivers a swoony sweet romance that full of heat, heart, undeniable passion, and one beautiful second chance romance.

Samantha Lind is brand spanking new for me and I look forward to more in the future. I'll be honest, the blurb is what pulled me in to this book initially and I'm so glad I took that chance. This book was beautifully written and set up the series in the most addicting way.

Just Say Yes was so so good. Easy. Safe. Insta-reconnection. Becca and Scott stole my heart from the start. Their journey was pretty easy Wertand full of mostly ups, but the feels got super real at times and by the end, I may have blubbered a moment or two.

Years ago she left him before he broke her heart.
Years ago he lost the only girl he ever loved.
He's back to prove they deserve a second chance.
She's got to decide if she can just say...yes.

Swoony hero. Strong heroine. Intriguing best friends. Loving families. Scott and Becca were always meant to be, right from the very start and now they have the chance.

This summer will be the start of their forever.

If you like no angst and a whole lot of sugary sweet like me then run to get this book! You won't be disappointed.

I definitely recommend this book.

I love hockey as is but for some reason this was my first hockey romance book. I loved every bit of it. This second chance romance warmed my heart and gave me all kinds of feels. Becca and Scott have been apart for eight years. When Scott left to join the NHL Becca let him go without her. She was worried about how she would fit into his lifestyle. She's avoided seeing him as much as possible but still wonders what could have happened. Scott still wonders about Becca as well.

These two both need to get on the same page but can they?

Scott--is the captain of his hockey team as well as a Stanley Cup winner but even with all of that he's still down to Earth and humble. You won't be able to not love him.

Becca--is a nurse that loves her family, best friend and small town. She is a simple girl not caring too much for glitz or glam but that only makes you feel more connected to her as a character.

I can't wait to read more from this other and of course I can't wait for the next book in this series.

This was a heartwarming friends to lovers second chance romance story, with a lot of steamy and sexy scenes. It was about Scott, a hockey player and Becca a registered nurse who had decided to give love a second chance. They soon realized how much effort they both needed to put into navigating their way through the ins and outs of being in a long distance relationship. Becca was finally ready to take the next step but for the second time around they were still trying to figure out why it was so hard for them to be together.

What I loved about this book was that the story was crisp and engaging; it flowed freely; Scott and Becca had amazing chemistry and their love for each other jumped at you right off the pages. I also liked that the characters were lovable and relatable. This book had me swooning and I would definitely recommend it. This was my first read with Samantha Lind but it certainly won’t be my last!

I have to say that this is an amazing second chance romance. It was swoon worthy and had me gushing because Scott really loved Becca and Becca really loved Scott. They were first loves and true loves but insecurities get in the way.

Scott and Becca are a couple who are meant for each other until Becca starts to get doubts about Scott when he makes it big as a Hockey player. She breaks things off with him and becomes an ER nurse and goes about life with her friends as if she is happy.

That is until one day Scott can't take it anymore and he pursues her and lets her know that he wants her and always has. Scott is not taking no for an answer this time and the love that unfolds between them is absolutely breath taking.

This is a must read story and beginning to this series and I will be reading them all!

This the second book I've read written by Samantha Lind and it won't be my last. I think she is definitely going to be around for a long time.

Have you ever walked away from love and then had regrets? Wondering what did I do? Scott and Becca the couple everyone thought was the perfect match. What happened... Ever think that you can't live with the restraints of your significant others career, life... Sometimes life gives us a second chance? Will it be different? Is it worth it? Should I take the chance? Scott and Becca both realize that their love is still strong and are excited to give love a second chance. I think you will love this story with well developed characters and a great HEA.

I read this book as an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review.

This is Book #1 in the Indianapolis Eagles and my first book by this author. Becca regretted breaking up with Scott all those years ago. She still loved him and compared every man she ever dated to him. No one has ever matched him in her eyes. Now Scott is home for the summer before he has to go back to being a pro hockey player. Becca decides not to avoid him this summer like she normally does.

I loved this book! Second chances are a top favorite of my. The chemistry behind Becca and Scott is still hot after all these years. I can not wait to read Book #2.

Scott is living his dream. He's the captain of a Stanley Cup-winning hockey team. But he's living the dream alone. He misses the one who got away. Becca. Becca still lives in their home town where she is an ER nurse. She's happy, successful, has a great family and best friend but she has never stopped loving Scott. She broke up with him because she was worried about his career, the travel, the puck-bunnies. Now she regrets it. She's avoided him for years but when he comes home for the summer and wants to try again, can she be brave enough to give them a second chance at love?

Sweet, saccharine sweet. Scott and Becca are nice. Their love is nice. It's all nice. It's also predictable and lacked depth. The characters are one-dimensional and there is no obstacle to overcome, no reason to root for them. The conflict came prior to the story. There was no range of emotion, no anger, no humor, no angst. Lots of sex, little substance.

I adore this book, from beginning to end. It has a really nice and cute second chance romance between the characters, sweet, with great chemistry between them. What I love the most was that there's no unnecessary drama, and that the characters stay together throughout the book.

As for the narration, first time listening to Tim Paige, he did pretty well and I truly like his performance and would for certain listen to him in the future. Sarah Puckett was excellent as always, I always adore listening to her and this wasn't the exception.

This is a second chance story about a hot hockey player and an er nurse who can't get over each other no matter what. When Scott comes home for the summer, he sees Becca and realizes he will do whatever he has to, to make her his again. She just has to say yes. This was a sweet and sexy book and I just couldn't stop swooning over Scott and how he showed Becca his love for her. This is the first of the series and I can't wait to read the second book.

I just finished the Shockwaves series and absolutely loved it and wanted to read more from this author so I started this. I absolutely love Samantha's writing. Becca & Scott are so cute and no third act break up. Cute story however I would've liked more push back for them to get together but enjoyed it none the less. Can't wait to read the rest of the series

Strong start

This story started out strong and had my interest but by halfway I had lost it. It is a nice story but there was no substance just a nice telling of the characters lives. Nothing to leave me wondering what will happen, no angst, basically no emotions. I wanted to be cheering for them and instead was feeling meh. I didn’t feel excited for things hat happened because it was guaranteed since everything was as expected and could be predicted.

First off, I hate leaving low stars. I was excited to start a new author, especially one that has come up in conversations before. It started out a little slow, but promising. Becca and Scott don’t hesitate to rekindle their romance, which is good, but I found the story very fluffy. There wasn’t a ton of oomph for me. I felt like I was just reading a sweet contemporary romance with no action. Don’t get me wrong there was lots of sex, averaging once a chapter, but I felt that’s the only exciting thing that happened. Closer to 75% into the book I did get some of the angst I was looking for, but it felt fast paced, a little jumpy, and resolved quickly. After, it was back to fluffy.
Lots of hockey lingo, which I love, but I wanted Scott to be a little rougher around the edges.
I would try another book by this author, but I’d be more prepared for fluff than I was this time.

I’ve got this entire series sitting on my kindle ready for me to read in anticipation of book 7 coming soon.

I enjoy stories where people get a second chance to get it right. Most often than not, they come with a bit of drama and maybe some redemption. Well, that didn’t happen here. The getting back together portion of their journey happened in the first third of the book LOL and then it was just reading the lives of Becca and Scott.

SO, there’s really no conflict in the story. I didn’t enjoy that part of the plot. Personally, I like to have something/someone to root for and I didn’t really have that. There was zero drama or redemption on anyone’s part. The story just happened.

I’m hoping there’s bit more excitement moving forward with the rest of the books. We shall see …..

A drama free book about second chances. It’s a book about taking a second chance in love. Being happy and stop regretting being apart. It’s about making the choice to be happy and taking the steps towards it.
Scott is a great guy who has always loved the girl he once loved. They’re friends even when Becca avoids him. Becca has always loved Scott and has watched his games and wished to be with him.
This is an easy read book that is very predictable. A very sweet love story.
A good book. I would recommend it.

If you want an easy quick read then this is the book for you!

Scott Pro Hockey play comes home for the summer and at 30 is ready to leave the single live behind. Over the years he hadn’t stop thinking about his first love Becca and after a chance meeting the two rekindle their relationship.

But the one thing that kept them apart 8 years ago is still true now - she lives in Alaska he plays hockey in Indie.

Some of the story line was just too long and could have been shortened but if you want a feel good no drama romance (don’t we all sometimes) this is for you
