Nearly fully recovered from a car accident that caused a major concussion, Edie Black is hopeful about returning to her life as a freelance journalist and college teacher. A series of bizarre incidents and the persistent feeling that she’s being followed make Edie question the reliability of her thoughts and instincts. Edie meets Skye Kenny, a brilliant and shy former soldier, and their immediate connection has Edie confessing her paranoid thoughts. Skye convinces Edie she is in real danger, and together the two women discover that information was embedded in Edie’s brain during her concussion recovery and whoever put it there will do whatever it takes to get it back. On the run, Edie and Skye must uncover who is behind this plot while keeping Edie and her mind intact. Trusting Skye with her life, Edie can only hope she can also be trusted with her heart.
Jessica L. Webb spends her professional days working with educators to find the why behind the challenging behaviors of the students they support. Limitless curiosity about the motivations and intentions of human behavior is also a huge part of what drives her to write stories and understand the complexities of her characters and their actions. When she's not working or writing, Jessica is spending time with her wife and child, usually planning where they will travel next. Jessica can be found most often on her favorite spot on the couch with a book and a cup of tea.

Cosmic! There is one thing you can be sure of in Jessica l Webb's book: every background detail and procedural item, incidents are gonna be accurate to the very last degree..and this book had it all-chemistry,law enforcement, romance, great supporting cast, nice dialogue,fast-paced and good editing, nice demographics plus don't talk about how well it was written..consistently absorbing, which probably reflects on the nature of the subject matter itself(terror and bombing)..just when it seems that their strength of being together will eclipse any obstacle or misfortune-malice and danger conspire to make Edi's deepest fears turn to reality. Readers might find themselves wondering at the end or while reading why anyone would want to become a terrorist, though the intermittent excitement probably makes up for the other great parts of the storyline...one thing's for sure(Skye) would testify to it-if you want to be a really good soldier, don't fall in love...a masterpiece and highly recommend to everyone!
There are so many book coming out shortly, by authors I really enjoy. Radclyffe, Brooke, Winter, Walsh, Friend, so many, that I did not know where to start. Well, that all changed when I got my hands on Jessica Webb's new book yesterday. No offense to these other fantastic authors, but when I get my hands on a Webb book, I have to read it immediately! I'm so happy to be able to say, this book was everything I hoped for, and even more.
The story is about Edie, a journalist that went through an awful accident. She had a server concussion that affected parts of her memory, sensitivity to sounds, and even jumbles her thoughts. It has also made her paranoid, that someone is following her. At a recovery group meeting, Edie meets an ex-military, protection specialist Skye. Edie is instantly attracted to the strong but shy women. After spending some time together, Edie starts to realize, she might not be paranoid after all. Someone really might be following her. Can Skye be the one not only to save Edie, but to also steal her heart?
I loved Webb's first book Trigger. In fact I loved the whole Dr. Kate Morrison series. But what made Trigger really special, is that it was so different. It was not something we have read in lesfic before. I'm surprised and elated, to have that same feeling after reading this book. I have not read anything like this in lesfic before. I don't know where Webb gets her ideas, but her imagination is wonderful. Yes, I know I am fan-girling out, but I can't help it!
This book sucks you in immediately. It is a page turner, and I could not put the book down until I was finished. I wondered how Webb could make two new mains as likeable as Andy and Kate, well damn Edie and Skye come pretty close. And while this is an absolute action book, I thought Webb balanced the romance really well. The characters have obvious chemistry and they almost devour each other, in the sex scenes. It was pretty damn intense, in a good way:)
The way this book wrapped up, it might not be a series...But, there was a great secondary character in JC and the intriguing Dr. Crask, that would make for an excellent spin-off. Hopefully, if Webb goes this way, she will check in on Edie and Skye.
This is an absolutely easy recommendation for me to make to action-romance fans. If you enjoyed the book Trigger, you will enjoy this. You might even like this better, as the romance is a little more balanced. Webb, has easily turned into one of my favorite authors. I'm amazed how she can put out this kind of quality, book after book.

Repercussions by Jessica L. Webb is nothing short of phenomenal. This book is everything you want and more. It is one delicious story, with amazing characters and an exciting plot…I could go on for days about how freaking fantastic this one is. All of Webb’s books are homeruns, but somehow, someway, she took it to the next level with Repercussions. This is going to easily be in your top 5 books of 2017, if not number one.
Our main character is Edie Black. Life has given Edie a hard knock, literally. Run over while on a jog, Edie suffered multiple injuries, but the one that is the hardest to recover from is a severe concussion. Edie, a one-time investigative correspondent turned journalism professor prides herself on gut decisions and quick-thinking. The concussion marred her self-identity and the inherent belief in her own abilities. Now Edie, runs the gamut of being in pain, loss of memory and an overwhelming sense of paranoia. She feels constantly as if she is being followed.
Our other main, is introduced to us while Edie is preparing coffee for the acquired brain injury support group. Skye Kenny, a former soldier with the Royal Canadian Regiment turned private security specialist is also in the building for a PTSD meeting. These two instantly attracted to each other, and make a point to see the other at the next meeting. Cupid’s in the house! Edie’s’ date with the sexy strong silent, Skye turns into more than either one bargained for. Finally all of Edie’s paranoia is confirmed. This lady is totally being followed!
This book is going to hook you on by the first chapter. Don’t you just love that? Go ahead a get ready for that Americano in the morning because you are going to need it. A roller coaster ride of awesomeness is awaiting you with this book. This book has it all, and if I could give it 10 stars, I would. Massively large stars to boot!
Seriously, this author is in a class all by herself.
Here are a few things that make the author's romantic suspense stand out: inventive and smart plotting, riveting action, immersive atmosphere -- as effective thrillers ought to have. But more importantly, they have an emotional rawness that pulls the reader in and just grabs hold, making the book an experience instead of just a read. I'm particularly devoted to this sub-genre of lesbian fiction, so I'd like to think I've read a good deal of what's out there. The intensity and originality of a Jessica Webb book, and the assuredness of the writing, is a clear cut above what's available in lesbian romantic thrillers.
This is my 4th Jessica Webb book in as many releases. Honestly, I was a bit surprised this came out so fast, almost right on the heels of the last installment of her just concluded Kate Morrison mysteries series. And we know how haste tends to make lesfic waste, especially in her chosen genre. So I was a bit on the skeptical side about the quality. Turns out my fears are unfounded. This is every bit as good as the ones that came before. Certainly better than the last. If I have to rank them, I'd say it gave both Trigger and Pathogen a good run for their money. Ultimately, it boiled down to Trigger and Pathogen having the more solid premise, though this was no slouch either. And the sex....just...phew!!!...so, so....hot... I had to remind myself this was a Jessica Webb book, and not..a Meghan O'brien ;)
Freelance journalist Edie Black was involved in a serious car accident that left her with debilitating migraines, memory gaps and the constant paranoia of being followed. A chance meeting with ex-military Skye in a support group gathering and the two strike up a friendship. After Edie confides her fears, Skye's military expertise helps her realize that Edie may not be all that paranoid after all. Who are the shadowy figures and what do they want with Edie? And why can't Edie remember anything about what happened? Was her accident even accidental at all?
The book starts off in typical dramatic fashion. Forward one year and we quickly get into Edie's headspace, and it's a painful place to be. Even if one is just reading about it. Such is the immersion one gets with a Webb book. When Skye shows up, it was like getting a shot of much needed painkiller. :) Shy and introverted, it was sweet seeing her being coaxed out of her shell by Edie. But when danger stalks Edie, it awakens the protective ex-military in Skye and she turns from Shy Skye to "Sgt. Andy Wyles" Skye. For a moment there, I had a bit of deja vu and worried that I'd be reading a Trigger-clone. Fortunately, I was proven wrong yet again as the plot ultimately took off on its own momentum, veering into unknown territory and unexpected angles.
An unexpected and welcome bonus of the book is a number of strong women supporting characters. I think after this book, I can safely say no current author writes sexier butches than Ms. Webb (though I'm sure Radclyffe fans will vehemently disagree! :)) Okay, maybe I just like hers better. We got not one, not two, but three hot ones here. (At least, I think it's three. Basher sounds like one, though I can't be 100% sure). They run the gamut from classic tall, dark and brooding to...tall, dark and loyal.....to tall, dark and funny. And then there's Dr. Crask, who isn't butch but is one hell of a bitch. And also crazy smart. Oh and who can forget the bravest one of all: Faina. All of these women would make good MCs in their own book, if the author cared to explore this universe again.
It's an interesting change of pace that the romance that was drawn out over three books in the author's first series is resolved in a single outing here. Which is just as well, as these two ladies could barely keep their hands off each other. None of that tightly wound, bottled-up Kate/Andy restraint here. :) And where did I read that sex is really great for migraines? It obviously worked wonders for Edie, LOL.
Nitpick time from the over-thinker in me. Feel free to ignore.
Wow. I’m not sure I know what else to write about this book. It messed with my head but in a really good way. I loved everything, the story, the characters, the writing. My first by this author but I can’t wait to read another one.
Loved it! I’ll admit I am a major Jessica L. Webb fan. Her Kate Morrison Mystery series was a pleasure to read and a nice change from the standard lesbian romance. She knows how to write action-adventure, adding quirky unique premises that grab the reader's imagination. Trigger was clever in concept featuring a slow burn relationship between the two mains, Kate and Andy.
In Repercussions we are introduced to Edie Black, a journalist who has travelled the world looking for and reporting on human interest stories. Back in Ottawa, she suffers a major concussion following a car accident which robs her of her confidence, her job at the university as a lecturer and leaves her paranoid about her surroundings. She can’t shake the feeling someone is following her.
Skye Kenny is ex-military. She helps out at the same clinic where Edie goes for her weekly support group. Skye helps with the PTSD group and runs her own security business. When the two women meet in the kitchen making coffee for their groups there is a natural attraction. Without asking for help, within a day Skye tells Edie that her fears are real and that someone does have her in their sights.
If you love lots of action, suspense and intrigue this is a terrific read. Skye and her cop friend JC along with Skye’s amazing skill set do everything in their power to protect Edie. As the story is told from Edie’s point of view we don’t get into Skye’s brain to understand what she is feeling. There are times when she comes across as cold and detached with all her hypervigilance.Skye is torn by her attraction to Edie and her need to remain professional, to protect her from forces unknown. It makes for an interesting dynamic between Edie and Skye.
I’ll admit to struggling with the concept of embedding information in someone’s brain without their knowledge. I threw questions (in my mind) at the author as I was reading and she surprised me with valid and plausible answers. So well thought out, so clever. Hats off to Webb for her creativity and ingenuity. Giving us main characters we are drawn to and a solid cast of secondary players is a bonus. The cool gadgets and tech speak was icing on the cake.
This one will keep you up reading long after lights out. Enjoy.

I can not describe how excited I was to see this book on NetGalley! I have loved all the books in the Dr. Kate Morrison series. Love me some Kate and Andy! So while disappointed this was an entirely new book with new characters...at the same time couldn't wait to see where Webb would take me this time!
This was really, really good. I pretty much read this in two sittings...separated by a few hours of sleep. I had trouble putting it down! Interesting, fast moving plot. Wonderful, well-developed characters. Sweet romance.
So glad we have Jessica Webb writing in LesFic!! I feel giving 5 stars to this book just isn't enough. When I compare to other books I've given 5 stars in the past..honestly there is very little that compares.

Jessica L. Webb can write a psychological thriller like no other in lesfic. This is her fourth book and every time she manages to deliver an amazing story. Though my favourite is still Trigger (her first book), Repercussions is also at the top. She's one of a few authors that I trust she's going to take me on an imaginative and entertaining journey. If you haven't read the Dr Kate Morrison mystery series, I suggest you do it and start chronologically.
This is a stand alone novel about Eddie, a former journalist who suffered an accident that left her with a severe concussion and makes her doubt about her own perceptions. However, when she meets Skye, a former soldier and security expert, her suspicions start to grow to a point where she doesn't know who to trust. Skye unconditionally accompanies her in the path to get to the truth and their bond and feelings grow deeper as they get dangerously closer to reveal the mystery. Ms. Webb delivers again a pair of multilayered and authentic main characters with amazing chemistry and a plot with enough twist and turns to keep the reader turning pages.
Overall an excellent read if you are interested in psychological thrillers with a bit of romance. 5 stars.

Trust me when I say it pains me that I can't honestly give this book the 5-star rating I thought I would.
I try to avoid reviewing books in comparison to others by the same writer, but I'll have to do this here. It's not that I wouldn't have read this if it wasn't by Jessica L. Webb, it's that I would've read any new book of hers after the Dr. Kate Morrison mysteries. These books were some of my absolute favorites in lesbian fiction, so I had very high hopes, and Repercussions unfortunately disappointed me a little. :(
First of all, the mystery. For some reason, the blurb already reveals most of it. If you're reading this review and you haven't read the blurb, don't — I'd say it's like being spoiled. The characters take half the book to figure out what I already knew, and even then I thought they put all the pieces together too easily, given the whole sci-fi aspect of the plot. And besides what's in the blurb, there's not really a whole lot else to the plot — the rest of it felt unimportant and I didn't get a sense of urgency that I probably should have, seeing how the government agents kept talking about what a huge deal the whole thing was. Webb's debut novel, Trigger, also had a seemingly weird story (related to the human body being used for criminal purposes), but it was much better developed, leading to the big reveal being a legit gasp-out-loud moment for me.
I don't know what to say about the romance because the main problem for me is it happened in such a short time frame. There was the whole "oops I guess they'll have to live together for a while" thing, which is usually awesome, but Edie and Skye became overly dependent and protective of each other pretty quickly considering they had just met, and I thought that could've been developed more smoothly. I couldn't help but compare to Trigger again, where Andy and Kate found themselves in a similar situation as they had to stick close together for a while and Kate was in danger. Skye was similar to Andy in the sense that they were both kind of mysterious and kept to themselves, but Andy's characterization was more consistent throughout the trilogy, whereas the "aggressively protective" aspect of Skye's personality and interactions with Edie felt a little forced.
A lot of things felt a little forced to me. 's involvement was obvious from the beginning and we didn't get to see enough of her friendship with Edie for their friendship arc to have the effect it was meant to have on me. That disappointed me because I was very interested in Edie's character early on, the story of her injury and recovery process, and the parts related to that were some of my favorites in the book.
Yikes, I complained a lot, but overall this was still a good book. It just wasn't mindblowingly good like I expected, but maybe I'll just keep my expectations a little lower and still look out for the author's next works.

Edie Black is recovering after being hit by a car. Her bones have healed, but the concussion is taking a little longer. Suffering from blackouts and migraines, and never quite knowing whether her thoughts and memories are real, Edie is gradually getting her life back on track.
Attending a group session she comes across Skye Kenny, who is there to assist the psychologist. Skye is an ex-soldier who specialises in computers and security. Like most geeks, Skye is shy and it takes a while for Edie and Skye to connect. Their clear attraction to one another helps, but unlike most dates, they are starting from a place of raw honesty.
When Edie reveals that she senses that she’s being followed, it is Skye who realises that the threat is real, and not the result of damage caused by the concussion. Skye is adamant that their attraction has to take a back seat to dealing with the stalker, but can it wait that long?
Webb has created a really interesting scenario. The concussion suffered by Edie gives her the opportunity to offer us an openly unreliable narrator, while Skye offers the more reliable perspective. Interesting, because it is still Edie with whom I connected most strongly.
The opening gambit of a group support meeting means that the normal introductions of the two main characters are bypassed, and it becomes instantly a more interesting book as a result. The two characters have some social/mental issues that need to be worked around, without it ever being too much of an obstacle to relate to either of the characters. Webb has made the difficulties manageable, which allows the story to flow, while giving the characters lots of obstacles to overcome.
The book is very cleverly written. The romance elements work well, and there is genuine heat between the characters when it is appropriate, and yet, there is a lot of care and respect for each other while they work through the thriller elements of the story.
The thriller aspect of the story contains theories of housing secret information within an unsuspecting mind, and how that might work, and who might benefit. There were aspects of the thriller plotlines, such as Faina’s character, which didn’t quite gel for me. The rest of it worked really well, but I don’t want to give the game away by telling you too much.
I really enjoyed this book. It was different, I found the scenario fascinating, and I liked the main characters. Webb has written a clever, engaging tale around the construction of the mind.
Advanced reading copy provided by NetGalley for an honest review.
This book is everything I’ve ever wanted in a lesbian romance and never thought it could ever completely possess. It has action, treachery, international conflict, sexy soldiers and a group of strong, determined women.
The blurb gives you a snippet of what is to come. Edie, a journalist and professor slowly recovering from a traumatic brain injury, starts thinking she’s paranoid and that someone is following her. She persists, goes on with her routine, including going to her group meeting for people with brain injuries.. a meet cute over coffee leads her to Skye, a former Canadian soldier that now has a security firm. What started as a date leads into a whirlwind thriller, because you KNOW that former soldier and current security expert caught that they were being tailed and had her eyes out for Edie.
To delve into anything else would be a disservice to the author, but I will say that I had to stop reading this to sleep and then to work and it was physically painful. I wanted to know what happened, I wanted the small touches and glances that seem so small but convey so much to be beneath my eyes. The secondary characters are just as fleshed out as the mains, and they come together as a band of strength and determination despite the odds and the risks.
This book is an action/adventure, cerebral read that is laced with romance and understanding. The characters are real and flawed and I love that you feel for them and worry for them as if you’re they’re and know them yourself. I’ve never read anything by this author and now want to immerse myself in everything she has ever written.
A copy of this book was provided to me for a fair and honest review from Bold Strokes Books via NetGalley.
this was a thrilling, high-octane book with some excellent, fast-paced writing and a tiny little hint of sci-fi. i also found that the balance between thriller and romance was well-done, with believable tension and obstacles.
however - the blurb does the most annoying, WORST thing a blurb could ever do - tell you a major plot point that occurs about halfway in. SO DON'T READ IT! all you need to know is that the main character, edie, is recovering from a car accident a year ago, she still has headaches and dizziness and things, and she thinks someone might be following her. so if you are looking at the blurb on GR, under no circumstances should you click that little "more" link!! (unless you like being spoiled, i guess?)
it was a little bit predictable, which is why it's four and not five stars. but it was still really good, and i'd definitely recommend it! most (if not all) of what i've read by bold strokes books has been solid, so i'm going to keep an eye on this publisher.
I really loved Jessica L. Webb's "Dr. Kate Morrison Thriller" series , it was orignal and really great, but sadly, REPERCUSSIONS was only an ok read for me (the 3 stars are because of the ideas behind it). I loved the Canadian settings but other than that, yeah, I confess that, sadly I had a hard time with this novel which felt flat to me, even without comparing it to the author’s first pieces of work.
Let me explain (or try to..) a tad.
The story (which, in itself was a great idea) started really slow & I truly liked the beginning. It was pretty plausible, like it can be at the beginning of a good sci-fi movie but, then, suddenly, everything it became super-duper strange and, let’s say it, pretty confused … and, because of the poem arc (mainly because not developed properly IMO), it even became a far-fetched story (Maybe, instead of the poem, it would have been more logical/ plausible if Edie had "captured " an image or something more physical during the accident, something secret which would have engrained itself in her brain …). In here, we have a potentially good or even great psychological thriller (and a great movie scenario…) but it’s crushed by a poor execution. I mean by that that we didn’t have time to connect with any of the characters (because we didn’t have time to learn a lot of things about them) & that too many things happened in the too short time frame to make any of this a believable action or romance … As a matter of fact, the main issue is, from my POV, that the book is definitely too short, like if maybe half of it had been removed to make the story fit in a standardized format/length … All this results in the fact that the reader can’t feel any connection/ compassion with any of the characters, nor dive in the story like it’s necessary when it comes to a good thriller ... Having such a short book leaves no time/room to have a real & proper character or story devevelopment. For that it would have required a real full length novel … at least twice (maybe even thrice) the length of the actual book. To reach its full potential I think it would have deserved to become a series… Right now, too many things felt a little or even totally forced to me.
About the MCs … I wish I'd loved Edie and Skye, but sadly, I wasn’t able to like any of them ... Yep, somewhere they reminded me the MCs from the "Dr. Kate Morrison Thriller" series, especially Skye, but they are just pale copies of them … In the trilogy Andy's characterization was more consistent whereas the very clear "aggressively protective" aspect of Skye's personality and all her interactions with Edie felt forced from the moment they had their first date. Skye, especially, was extremely difficult to like (yep, more than Edie)…She appeared out of nowhere in her superhero role (thank God she didn’t have a costume) and most of the time she acts like a real jerk. Which makes the relationship between the two MC's very lame and hard to appreciate. And the lil bit of backgroung we have about her is not enough to really explain her attitude. Maybe having a better background about the MCs would have allowed us to understand them. IDK for the others, but personally I didn't feel their great connection which is quite often mentioned (was it to try to convice us about its greatness ??), so, of course, I couldn’t buy the romance part … Maybe having a first part to this novel, giving each MC’s detailed background could have helped … But, TBH, quite quickly, I was hoping to see more scenes about JC and even a romance for her … because, from my POV, this strong secondary character was more interesting than the MCs and she was the only character with a bit of personality… Some times I wished the book was about her…
This being said, Ms L. Webb is still an author that I appreciate a lot so I won’t stay on this disappointing experience and I’ll continue to follow her work and read her books …
I've read several of Webb books and have been blown away and here she has done it again. Her books are so full of passion. I love her writing style and she has to be one of the best story tellers ever. She takes you through her story with loads of twists and turns and she has you just where she wants you. In the palm of your hand.
The books main character Edie is recovering from an accident that gave her severe concussion and its taken over a year to claw her way back. Her psychologist wants her to mentor people experiencing similar issues and it is where she meets Skye a military personal body guard. Skye is extremely intelligent and very shy. The two women hit it off immediately.
Due to Edie's brain issues she feels like she is being watched and followed. She doesn't want to admit it because she thinks people will say she is paranoid. As it turns out she is being followed. In steps Skye and a whole web of deceit is uncovered. The chemistry between the two main characters is electric. The book is full of action you even find yourself ducking or holding your breathe.
I am kinda hoping Webb continues with Skye and Edie. They seriously are a couple to watch and hopefully watch them grow. Or maybe even a sequel after all we did meet JC, Skye's fire buddy and the psychologist for the police is kinda stern but boy she would make an awesome main. Dr Crask is one scary individual :).
Would I recommend this book? Without a doubt. Has everything and more. Enjoy!
Jessica L Webb just seems to never disappoint. She knows how to twist and turn not only the events happening within the story but also the emotions of all the characters involved. That will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more. I would love to learn more about Skye and Edie and am looking forward reading more from Jessica Webb! I highly recommend Repercussions or many book written by Jessica L Webb!
What can I say about this book? Well I believe anything Jessica Webb touches comes out gold. This one was much different than her first three but no less excellent. I really do enjoy her thriller/mystery aspect of the stories she writes. I'm not completely sure I liked the two main characters the first time we met them in the story, but soon they wiggled their way into my heart. Edie and Skye certainly have their own rather large hang ups but they actually complement each other. The obstacles they face were at some points insurmountable but the persistence of both women got them to the finish line. I do hope at some point we get to see more about Skye and her back ground. She's a very interesting character and I think has a lot of good stories in her. The secondary characters were also very interesting and I think there could be something there for them as well. All I know is that I always look forward to one of Jessica's books to be released so I can gobble it up as soon as possible. Repercussions was no exception.
DNF. I've stumbled upon the author's other story about exploding people and it was just too silly for me to pick up. Now this one seemed more plausible. Unfortunately it is not.
I don't see what's good about it at all. There's no chemistry between mains and they're pretty flat, Edie's emotional problems are repetitive, yeah, I get it, she's lost confidence, stop repeating it all the time. Lots of secondary characters without any depth, they're just there to push the plot forward.
The tech side of things reads like a teenager came up with it. And the premise doesn't make any sense. Why would some random Russians plant information in her head when she's such a public figure, especially with all the press she's gotten lately. There are plenty people with concussions, hell, they're criminals, they can cause concussions themselves when they need to. And then all the silliness with hypnosis... Just use a USB stick! Or Dark Web, or anything that makes sense for criminals to use. Or just kick the shit out of one of their own so the information doesn't randomly run away. All this hassle for something so unnecessary.
Couldn't suspend my disbelief and writing wasn't good at any level be it about their relationship, tech or the thriller side of the story.

There is really nothing bad that I can say about this book. Jessica L Webb is in a class all her own and I feel like she can do no wrong when it comes to writing stories.
This author manages to create unique situations in all of her books and this book was no different.
Skye and Edie developed a bond while on the run from bad guys and dealing with law enforcement. This book has action, a great storyline and believable chemistry between the main characters.
I haven't given this book five stars because I have read other books by this author which I think where a bit more nail biting but this book is still a definite must read.
It was ok. Skye was extremely difficult to like. She's kinda a jerk. The relationship between the two MC's was... meh. Premise for the main story arc... meh. I think after I finished book 2 in her other series I kinda lost interest in the authors stories. Kinda a bummer too cause it seems everybody seems to really dig them. Shrug. Prolly give future ones a pass.
This was the first book I have read of Jessica L Web and it won't be the last. I found the storyline very intriguing. I felt like this was a close and dagger type mystery. I couldn't put the book down til the end. If you like action and mystery type storylines this is the book for you. I definitely recommend this book.
Edie Black and Skye Kenny in conjunction with the supporting characters make for an entertaining read. Although the ending was not conclusive, it does not take away from the engaging and interesting read. The bulk of the story is told from Edie's viewpoint which makes sense since she has the "stuff" in her brain. Edie guides the story with her give and take as well as push and pull attitude. She has control and sometimes she knows it and uses it and other times she just needs to step back, take a deep breath and exhale. Skype is solid and prepared to put not only her life but her heart on the line. I also enjoyed the stories within the story which in my opinion makes the read complex and compelling.

A well written and captivating story of intrigue and romance. The blurb tells part of the story, yet the tale is suspenseful. With engaging characters and plenty of action this book is definitely worth a read.
I really enjoyed this, unexpected, unpredictable and very well done. The characters and plot are unusual, well developed and thought through, with depth and real personality and way more than a romance. My first by this author but definitely not my last.
This is another good book from Webb. IMHO, trigger was the best and this is second best. Action packed and a good love story. Webb has the uncanny ability to describe chemistry between lovers without a lot of detail. Loved these two new characters, Edie and Skye. I hope we see more of these two.
Not quite sure what to make of this - outside my usual cannon - full of angst, a thriller and a bit too much claustrophobia for my taste, but kept me entertained. Skye was a fascinating character and would have loved know more about her.
This is my fourth Jessica Webb romantic thriller, and I’ve enjoyed them all. The mystery premise of this one was a bit of a stretch if you stopped to think about it for too long. But it served as a good setup for the romance at the story’s core, between our concussion-addled, journalist protagonist and her elusive ex-soldier love interest. With Skye, poor Edie never knows what she is going to get. One moment Edie sees the quiet and gentle side that she loves, but the next moment Skye will without warning flip to become distant and evasive, camouflaging herself behind a wall of paramilitary protectiveness. The slow-burn romance was accompanied by plenty of fast-paced action and two strong and stellar women in accompanying roles.
This to me was an ok read. The story itself was a great idea but the romance didn't work for me which unfortunately pulled the story down. I feel the book was well researched when it came to the characters' behaviour but because the romance had no chemistry and the main leads didn't have much personality. They had history and a back story, but no personality that made me route for them romantically. Toward the end I was hoping to see a romance for JC as she was the only character with a bit of personality and I kinda wish the book was about her. The storyline and the mystery made me keep reading which is why I gave this 3 stars.
Jessica L Webb has done something I didn’t think possible - she has surpassed herself and written a book that had me even more enthralled than her Dr Kate Morrison series. Edie is recovering from a head injury sustained when a car hit her a year previously. She meets Skye Kenny, ex-soldier and helper at a PTSD support group. When strange things start happening to Edie she confides in Skye and realises she is not paranoid and is in real danger. This was a fast-moving story, full of twists and turns and never let up. I was up all night reading as I could not put it down. I wanted to know if Edie was going to be safe, if Skye, her protector, was going to become much more. I really loved Skye. She was strong, fiercely intelligent but so shy and vulnerable when it came to Edie. Edie was unsure of herself, scared and in need of someone to be there for her. As well as being a brilliant thriller, there were some utterly beautiful and tender moments, full of passion and intensity. I highly recommend ‘Repercussions’ and give it 5+ Stars.
I was given this ARC by Netgalley and Bold STrokes Books in return for an honest review.
